Most overrated first 2 stars Chinese Restaurant ever
Most horrid experience at a Chinese restaurant in Four Seasons Hong Kong! So what if they have 2 stars? The sommelier did not know what he was talking about, trying to offload a strange bottle of champagne he claimed was rosé when it clearly was not and it was also not our first choice. The waiter also tried to upsell us the crab dish which we politely rejected and he recommended a fried lemon chicken that tasted worse than McDonald’s chicken. Never again at the Four Seasons.

It was a truly fantastic time!! All dishes were clean and flavorful, and the service was truly attentive and excellent. They carefully helped us choose a menu considering the amount of food. I want to visit Hong Kong again because of this restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyGood service and food. Can give it a try if you don’t mind paying.
Food was great, ambience was good, menu on the pricey side. Ordered set menu (8-course with wine pairing @ HKD4280/pax). Service was great as well. Reservation is strongly encouraged. There’s dress code at the restaurant too.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing
Amazing, food was great, location is lovely, service was impeccable..especially the sommelier Thomas and his boss..the staff made the night memorable.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent as usual
Excellent as how it should be. The first Chinese restaurant which earned the award such as Michelin three stars. Even if in this year it lost one star, but it is still the top Chinese restaurant around the world
Be the first to ReplyComfortable seating and a spacious restaurant
I had to make a reservation a few days in advance. It is a MICHELIN stars restaurant and worth the wait. The dim sum dish was a delight. We also had their Marinated Red Jellyfish with Pork Knuckle and Scrambled Egg White with Air-Dried Seafood and Yunnan Ham. It has comfortable seating and the restaurant is spacious.
Be the first to ReplyA fantastic fine dining experience, overlooking the water in Hong Kong
Prior to a recent trip to Hong Kong, I was looking at places well regarded for eating and came across Lung King Heen. When I went to make a reservation there were very few available, but I was able to make a reservation for a 2 pm lunch. So be warned if you would like to dine here, get in early. Haven’t had much experience with fine dining but thought why not. After a previous experience at another fine dining establishment in Hong Kong, I was unsure if it was for me, but the staff here were fantastic and I was made to feel very welcome despite being a solo dinner. My food was delivered promptly and drinks were kept topped up. I had the BBQ pork buns from the Dim Sum menu, the sautéed pork ribs with black vinegar and finally the sweetened almond cream with peach gum. Those pork buns were absolutely packed as can be seen in the photos. All three dishes were delicious. Will definitely dine again if I’m Hong Kong. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyDeservingly demoted to 2 stars
I wasn’t surprised and was in fact a little pleased to know that Lung King Heen had been demoted to 2 stars after holding 3 stars for 14 consecutive years. I went there for lunch with a friend about 2 weeks ago. The food was still good (except the baked roast goose buffs). However, the service was far from the standard expected of a restaurant of this class and price level. In particular, the staff didn’t refill our tea one single time. The price of dim sum of Lung King Heen has increased more than substantially over the years. In addition, nowadays there’s a minimum charge of HK$500 + 10% for each person for weekend lunch. Maybe I don’t dine out often enough in Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong. But I’m not aware any Chinese restaurants apply such minimum charge requirement.
Be the first to ReplyImpeccable food paired with stellar service
Food was impeccable, worthy of three stars. Special mention to the dim sum and the roast meats. Dumplings had chewy skin, the bbq pork buns had an interesting spin. Even the ending green bean soup had a twist that made it special. Wouldn’t spoil it with the details. The service was the best I’ve experienced in a long time. Staff were very attentive and my tea cup was never empty. Multiple service crew remembered and addressed me by name even as I walked in and out of the restaurant; in particular would like to thank Carmen Kong for her really stellar service. She noticed I was left handed and switched the side of the utensils as the courses were served. Would definitely be back.
Be the first to Reply??? Still 3 Michelin Stars
We have been many times to this restaurant and have always enjoyed the service and food until this visit. This time around, the food, was not of Michelin Star standard. Much has changed and I hope this is temporary and only because of the setbacks brought about by Covid. A glimmer of the 3 star Michelin experience of the past was provided by the Director of Wine, Bernard Chan. He made up for the otherwise disappointing dinner.
Be the first to ReplyGood value for money and excellent service
The price is quite cheaper than other same kind of restaurants and the service quality is a little bit better than others. Will come again
Be the first to ReplyValuable for both yummy food and good services
Visit again. Dinner with my best friend and her family this time. Nice environment, delicious food and quality services.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed
I would like to share my ridiculous experience at this 3-star michelin resurant. I booked the table four months in advance with double confirmation by phone to celebrate my mother‘s birthday. I confirmed with staff to arrange table with window seats. Un un un Unfortunately, the resturant was overbooked! All table were occupied when I arrived resturant, no table could be arranged. The director asked my family to wait until someone return the table, however there was no one checking their bill at that moment. Finally I was invited to sit at the middle of the crowded dinning area after 23minutes! I can‘t believe this happened in a 3-star Michelin restaurant in 5-star hotel! It made my mother‘s birthday started with a bad mood!I was very disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyGood food and good services
One of our favorite Chinese Restaurants in Hong Kong. The food and services are good (and as expected from a 5-star hotel). The harbor view as well as the environment are very nice for you to enjoy a nice meal.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite and elegant
I had a dinner here together with the family, the fantastic harbor view is definitely captivating. Having ordered the crispy scallops, crispy eel with sweet soy sauce, deep fried crab shell, crispy diced tofu, pan-fried plant-based pork and lung king heen fried rice. The food is absolutely executed with precision and finesse, recommending the crispy eel and crab shell, these aren’t easy dishes. Though the tea (pu er) isnt memorable, and we shared honest feedback that there was a dish doesn’t catch our paillette. The service is detail oriented, the staff paying attention to details, maintain a very high standard of service. The modern elegant interior contributes to the overall high-end ambience, though the music is somehow inappropriate, occasionally hearing sadly er-hu and Xiqu-like repertoire that doesn’t suit well. Will visit again for lunch dim sum. 4.5 stars.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible restaurant
If you like going to a restaurant that offers good service with friendly helpful management, don't go to this restaurant. Warm white wine with no ice bucket, not one vegan option, as rude manager said everything is cooked in butter (didn't even recommend sushi, which I'm sure doesn't get cooked in butter). He couldn't care less about service or his patrons. Don't know what their food is like, because we left after half a glass of warm wine and went to Thava next door, where we had the most amazing meal and service.
Be the first to ReplyAlways my top choice for dim sum
I guess I won’t get tired of the dim sum of Lung King Heen. I went there twice during the Easter holiday (Friday and Monday). Each time I enjoyed the food enormously. Although there’re more choices for dim sum during weekends and public holidays, the selection is far from extensive. Fortunately the restaurant makes up for its lack of variety with quality. Almost all kinds of dim sum look exquisite, are masterfully made and highly delicious. I wasn’t really hungry on Friday so didn’t order much. Steamed rice rolls with barbecued pork and baked buns with barbecued pork and pine nut are 2 of my favourites of the restaurant. They’re simply divine as always. I ordered more on Monday. I tried steamed rice rolls with roasted goose and preserved vegetables for the first time. They’re very delicious and the skin of the roasted goose inside was still crispy. Baked abalone puff with diced chicken and steamed lobster dumpling with vegetables didn’t disappoint. No wonder they’re Chef Chan’s recommendations. Simmered noddles with shredded chicken in pottage were so good that I’d easily finish an extra bowl. The soup was very flavourful and piping hot and the texture of the noodles was just right. Vegetarian taro puff, which I ordered from the a la carte menu, was a little off this time. It’s way too greasy than usual. I expressed my disappointment to one of the staff. She’s very apologetic and offered to take the item off the bill. I insisted on paying though. I told them the problem and hoped they’d improve next time, not with the intention of getting any freebies. Yes, the meals, especially the one on Monday, didn’t come cheap. And yes, I did book well in advance. But, it’s certainly worth it.
Be the first to ReplyAll we wanted to have a quiet dinner, but…
Food was great as always. Unfortunately, our dinner was disrupted by a BAND (eg. drums, guitar, etc.) playing in the private room that totally ruined our dining experience. In addition, whoever was in that room also made a huge ruckus with their shouting and applause. I did not expect to encounter this in a Three-Star Michelin restaurant! I thought that I was dining at a sports bar or something. Have they not considered the dining experience of other guests? Shouldn’t these people book a function room? Maybe I should bring my electric guitar and amp to the restaurant next time. We were very clear that we just want the restaurant to consider the dining experience of other guests next time before they entertain requests from certain guests next time. As we have visited the restaurant many times since it first opened in 2005, we really don’t want to encounter similar incidents in the future. The hotel manager came to apologize and offered some freebies as an apology. We told him to consider our feedback and we don’t want the free perks. What made it worse was that when we refuse freebies offered by the hotel manager, he had to bring it to our room. Does he not know that No means No? This was followed by a call from the same hotel manager a couple more times during our stay.
Does he not understand that we were not looking for free perks and his offer is counterintuitive? Does he believe guests that stay in the Four Seasons Hotel are the type that would complain for the sake of getting free perks? Never thought that was Four Seasons’ target market. Has he never encountered guests who provide feedback simply to ensure that our beloved brand will continue to provide excellent services? Our feedback relates to the special privileges the restaurant provided to certain guests at the expense of other guests’ dining experience. It was a matter of principle. By offering us freebies further proved that he did not understand the issue at hand.
To prove proof that he did not understand our complaint, he decided to offer us to dine at Lung King Heen again?! We actually felt quite insulted by that gesture since he must have felt that we complained for free perks. It was actually quite disturbing and stressful to be responding to his calls during our staycation since we tried to be empathetic and had to control our emotions during the calls. It was apparent that he was just trying to make himself feel better through such gestures and he did not consider that the guests just want some quiet time with the family (which is priceless). I have stayed in other Four Seasons Hotels and have dined at all of the Four Seasons Hong Kong venues enough times to appreciate their understated hospitality. This was clearly not the Four Seasons experience that we were expecting.
Good sim sum
Good Dim Sums, quality and taste of food is very authentic and nice, love the tea choices here, service is above average but can find room for improvement
Be the first to ReplyThat baked barbecued pork bun
I was certainly impressed with your staff and food at Lung King Heen on November 10, 2021. The dim sums, such as baked barbecued pork buns and steamed shanghaiese pork dumplings, were of high quality, but what made my lunch meal so special was your warm service. The staff like Jason, John, Cindy, Scarlett and Jacky Cheung, were so friendly. For example, Scarlett kept asking me if the tea was hot enough as I prefer boiling tea. Just a million thanks.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Lunch Venue
Service and food are good. We enjoyed the lunch a lot especially the soy sauce chicken and wok fried beef with garlic. We were amazed by Finn's food knowledge and his professional service.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent dim sum
Had dim sum lunch with friends. Tried a wide range of dim sum - fairly traditional stuff with a hint of innovation. Quality excellent overall. Setting very good, and service also excellent. Price is reasonable for a Michelin 3 star restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThe Strongest Cantonese Restaurant in the world
This is my second review on Lung King Heen and it is another straight five stars.
In term of both food quality and service, Lung King Heen is indeed the strongest Cantonese restaurant in the world. Special thanks to Jerome again, who also served us during my last visit.
Wonderful dinner
Had a wonderful dinner at Tin Lung Heen. The view was breathtaking and the environment was quiet and welcoming. Our servers Francis and Tom were friendly - helped us take photos, and provided us with recommendations when we were torn between dishes. The food was great; we especially enjoyed the Coconut Soup and Char Siu. Would 100% recommend!
Be the first to ReplyA fabulous dining experience that inspired
Clearly, Lung King Heen is one of the most superb restaurants in the world, that all Hongkongers should be proud of. Before commenting on any cuisines, I have to specially recognize the excellent service offered by the professional team, particularly Mr. Jerome Cheung, who made it our wonderful dining experience.
The team showed their thorough understanding in the menu, such as the ingredients and cooking techniques of every item on the menu. I must appreciate Jerome again for his great care in ensuring our dining options fit my guest's dining restriction due to allergy. What we experienced from the team was beyond merely offering services, but the passion in the hospitality industry and Cantonese cuisines as well.
Similar to most of the reviews, I highly recommend the chicken pottage, which was the thickest soup I ever had, and the crispy scallops with pear. Apart from these, just feel free to order anything you want, I am sure you would never be disappointed here.
A fabulous dining experience that inspired. I look forward to returning in the near future!
