The overall hotel is stunning and very clean with great service. The reason for the overall low rating comes when comparing it to other 5 star accusations and how special they make our stay versus how we felt at the Commodore Perry Estate.

What an relaxing place that has a top notch staff with incredible food...first class place. The rooms were timeless yet elegant. The staff was so kind you could tell everyone enjoyed working there. Never had a bad meal - I will come again.

Property and grounds were lovely. Rooms were well appointed. Mansion restaurant and bar were very nice and loved the fireplaces. If you are looking for a view from the room, ask ahead of time.... not all views are equal.
Be the first to ReplyMediocre first Auberge stay
It was a disappointing first Auberge stay. The service was a notch below what I expected, particularly at the front desk. On the positive side, the architecture is beautiful and the interiors are well-designed. The property is interesting, and likely nicer in the summer, but felt small as half of the land is empty and in disarray.

I've been going to Austin for over 20 years and even lived there part time during Covid. I wasn't aware that this estate even existed until I heard about it being renovated as a hotel... but still never ventured to this neighborhood. Then we made a decision without much notice recently to make a 1-night staycation, and WOW. It was hard to process that this property exists in the middle of the city. The restored original buildings are just spectacular, and the newer structures were very well designed to blend in. The interior design is unique, tasteful, and classic. We loved having drinks on the patio overlooking the grounds. It is funny to look across the gardens and see the Goodyear auto service and Jo's coffee sign out in the distance next to the signal and traffic, but it comes with the territory when a city grows up around a property like this. The staff was very welcoming and helpful... especially at the reception desk. Our dinner at Lutie's was a wonderful experience, especially considering it was a 2-minute walk from the room and we didn't have to leave the property. The pool wasn't open but we'll enjoy that on a future visit. All in all, I think we just found our favorite new Texas staycation destination that keeps us out of an airport and close to home while feeling like we really got away. Can't wait to return!

Italian retreat in the heart of Austin. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the staff is so warm, just like the fireplace in the library. The food is dreamy, literally can’t stop thinking about the lime chia pudding I had for breakfast, 2 days in a row! They provide free bikes, wear good sneakers that you don’t mind getting dirty, there is a bike path around the golf course and it was a little more off roaring than expected. They also provide a beautiful Mercedes to borrow for a couples of hours to get around town.

The estate is a wonderful get away being so beautiful and well manicured. The staff, also, went above expectation to make us feel at home. One would not expect such a grand place so close to downtown Austin. We could get to everyplace that we could have hoped for in no time at all which is saying a lot for Austin. We highly recommend a stay here because it will be one you will not soon forget!

This was undoubtedly my favorite hotel I have ever stayed at. The intimate grounds, the charming architecture & the details they have put into each room are ones I will never forget. I can’t wait to return!

What a wonderful weekend getaway.. Beautiful room, the staff is attentive and friendly. Lutie's was delicious. The mansion has so many small studies that you can enjoy and a beautiful deck if the weather is nice.

Our first stay won't be our last. The CPE was exactly as described...small, elegant, personal and well located. The room was very comfortable and the staff most helpful. Glad we didn't stay at one of the downtown hotels. Could have easily stayed another night and enjoyed ourselves.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Commodore over a 3 day weekend. The property is lovely and the staff was friendly and helpful, as they should be it is Austin after all. We had beautiful weather Asad enjoyed the patio at the Mansion for drinks and lunch. Lutie’s was delicious for dinner. Great special occasion spot. Will return.

Commodore Perry Estate is a fabulous respite from downtown Austin. Quiet, serene and beautiful, the estate offers a personalized stay that is incomparable. The estate offers some of the best dining I've experienced in a hotel meeting space and in the mansion. We were not able to request a table for 20 at Lutie's. I look forward to returning to the estate next year.

This amazing estate kinda pops out of nowhere and makes you feel like you’ve been transported outside of Austin, Texas to an estate on the country side in Europe. The staff is incredible and the people watching is to die for. 10/10 will be coming back.

First impressions are huge. Audra set the mood with an extremely pleasant and knowledgeable welcome, complete with Ranch Water and showing us personally to our room. The architecture, decorations, and details are amazing and very comforting. You feel special staying here. Every meal was amazing, especially thanks to the amazing wait staff, Erin, Emilio, and Elysius. The estate is so enchanting and our room so charming, we never felt the need to leave the grounds and enjoyed ourselves the entire stay. Champagne in the room was a nice touch. When it was time to check out, once again Audra made sure we had an unforgettable anniversary. Such a warm and personal touch matches the property and staff alike. This is our Austin getaway.

We visited the Commodore Perry Estate for a Valentine's getaway and loved it! The estate was beautiful and the staff was excellent. Dinner at Lutie's was perfect in every way. We came from San Antonio, so the Commodore was a great, low-hassle getaway.

The most romantic place to celebrate my husband’s birthday weekend! We were greeted with exceptional service from valet to checkout. I appreciate the beautiful decor by Ken Fulks. It is now on top of my list of favorite spots!!!

If you go to Austin and looking for a place to stay COMMODORE PERRY ESTATE is the best! If you still thinking, don't think just book and go! Beautiful French garden; designed, big enough, comfortable rooms; a lot of activities; good food and SERVICE! In a few places in the world where I've been, I had this level of service - efficient and personal ! Its worth every penny you spend there!

As a former Austin resident turned visitor, this property is really special and felt like we'd stepped into another world. It's a bit removed from the noise and bustle of downtown, but still central enough to explore the metro area and the hill country beyond. The property is just so beautiful and there are special touches throughout that give it a charming feel with plenty of character. We sometimes felt lazy choosing to dine on the property when Austin has such great food, but we were really happy with the Mansion restaurant and bar for a couple meals. Lutie's is outstanding - whether you're a hotel guest or not, I highly recommend you have a meal there. We enjoyed both the ambiance and the prix fixe menu. We look forward to staying at this property again.
Be the first to ReplySophisticated and Elegant Experience
We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Commodore Perry Estate. The rooms are large and the bed extremely comfortable. Housekeeping is very prompt with any requests. The breakfast at the Mansion is delicious with a variety of options - don't miss the biscuits or the homemade granola - and we greatly appreciated not having to see a buffet with the same foods every day. The Mansion is also excellent for having a drink and a bite in the late afternoon and we were lucky enough to be able to sit by the pool one December day. Even though there was no one on staff poolside, the hotel made sure to have someone come by to let us and the other guests taking advantage of the weather to order food and drink. The only critiques we had were the rooms did not have comfortable sitting areas - there were a table and two chairs, but no other option if you wanted to relax/recline on something other than the bed and if you chose to lie down mid-afternoon on the bed, there was no throw blanket to use which would have been nice as an alternative to getting under the covers with street clothes. As for the Fitness Center - it is well appointed with weights, Pelotons, treadmills and there are waters and energy bars available, but there is no real room to stretch or do floor work.. But these are really nitpicky, because when it comes to service and overall experience, this hotel was exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyA Very Special Luxury Hotel and Clear Standout Among 5-Star Properties
Extraordinary stay at the Commodore Perry Estate. An absolute gem of a hotel on immaculate and meticulously-cared for property and grounds, with service that is kind, warm, gracious and as customer-focused as we have ever experienced. The hotel itself is a refined and creative blending of tradition and modern creativity, with each common room, restaurant and other area seemingly more beautiful than the next. The food is exceptional — everything prepared with care and with fresh, local farm-to-table ingredients. The best of all was the service. Every person on the Estate team so dedicated to creating wonderful experiences for hotel guests. Special appreciation to Audra, Erica, Larissa, Samantha, Steve, Preston and many others who made our stay a very special and memorable one. Even among 5-star properties, Commodore Perry is a clear cut above.
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced. And they will overcharge you for your stay.
Overall this resort is overpriced. In addition, I was charged twice for the deposit and I have received very poor customer service trying to get this issue resolved. It has been 5 weeks now, even though the front desk staff told me I would receive a refund for the overcharge within days. They do not promptly return emails, overall poor customer service. Not recommended.

One of the most beautifully designed resorts I’ve ever experienced. Best in class service from start to finish. We came for an overnight stay and absolutely loved the hospitality, the size and overall design of our room. The food and drinks were delicious.

UPDATED: Our stay at the Commodore Perry was the most disappointing "luxury" hotel experience we've ever had. I had hesitated to post a review, preferring to share our views privately with Auberge Resorts. But Auberge Resorts never even acknowledged our feedback. So, we'll share it here in the hope someone in management sees it. For one of the most expensive hotel stays in Austin (around $900/night for our lower-end room), we found nothing to justify the cost. Our room lacked basic thought and comfort, omitting even bedside electric outlets. The rest of the amenities were what you'd find at a JW Marriott for less than half the price. The tile-floor hallways contribute to a lot of noise. The food was likewise mediocre and thoroughly forgettable. In fairness, the property's restaurant is not yet open. Also in fairness, the hotel (like all others) is operating under pandemic conditions. On the positive side, the property is beautiful. The restoration and additions to the property are gorgeous and great care obviously was taken to appeal to the eyes. As a venue for a wedding or a similar event, it's probably an excellent option. And we certainly want CPE to succeed. The area of Austin where it's located benefits from a high-end hotel, convenient to nearly everything in Austin that you'd want to visit. Unfortunately, CPE's reach exceeds its grasp--at least for now. We have been fortunate to have had some truly superlative hotel experiences at places run by Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, and Peninsula, among others, at similar price points. Unfortunately, this Auberge resort property is nothing like them. We'd wait a long time before staying here again. UPDATE: Management (Mario Bustamante) invited a call to address our inexcusably disappointing experience. After taking the time to call and address the issues that made our stay so disappointing, he ultimately offered to provide a gift certificate for another 2-night stay--hopeful that with more time after the opening, the property would deliver on its price point. But despite our follow up, the promised 2-night gift certificate never arrived. We can therefore also share that the "customer service" at the Commodore Perry was as disappointing at the hotel itself, and that's probably not an accident. With all the other wonderful hotel options in Austin today, this one should be last on your list.

This hotel is a gem within the city of Austin. Driving into the hotel makes it seem like you've entered Europe. The architecture is surreal and the grounds create a very relaxing environment. The staff at the hotel do everything in their power to make your stay as personal as possible. High quality and prompt service took place throughout my stay. Can't recommend the Commodore Perry Estate enough!

Oasis in the middle of a big city. Minutes from all attractions, yet feels like an escape to the Old World. Exemplary in all respects! The rooms were impeccable appointed. Common areas uplifting. Gardens inspiring. Dining without compare.
