I've been to this location and their other location in the Palms area. This location is much better and has entertainment. We came on a Sunday around 4:30pm and it was pretty busy. We had reservations but it didn't seem like their was much of a wait for people that didn't have reservations. You can make reservations from their website. We were seated pretty close to the stage they have. I ordered the Froze for a drink which is like a blended tequila/grapefruit drink. It's really good! I also ordered the chicken mole negro and they were good as well. For appetizers we ordered the chorizo queso and the guac. Both were also good. My only negative is that it does get loud. So you can't really have conversations with the people you're there with without screaming. Although the live music was nice, maybe don't come with the intention of being able to have conversations with your friend Parking was shopping center parking or paid street parking.

I went on a weekday for lunch - service was amazing, beautiful interiors, and the food was decent (a bit salty for me). We brought our baby and the whole staff was very cooperative and friendly. The drinks are really good! Highly recommend.

Delicious food, great service, the mariachi plays on Sundays from 12-3pm, great atmosphere. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyFood was not impressive and expensive.
Sales tax should be 10% they charge 11.9%. Watch your bill.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was amazing I loved the vibe they have at this
This place was amazing I loved the vibe they have at this restaurant, we celebrated my sisters birthday and it was such a success. Making reservations was so easy! I loved how they had a music group playing every now and then and as for the food it was 10 out of 10, all the salsas were delicious and the drinks were great if you like mezcal which I do! Would recommend this place if your looking for good Oaxacan food with a nice ambiance.

A few friends and I came to Madre to blow some steam off for happy hour. If you sit in the patio area, HH menu is allowed. We ordered margaritas of course! And one of us ordered micheladas. We ordered various items off of the happy hour menu-taquitos, enchiladas, chips and guac as well as white fish ceviche. The server was busy but he got around to us every time we needed him and reminded us about the happy hour timeline! After happy hour, the live band came on inside. If you like music and a lively ambiance, this is the place to be.

the food is pretty good - though the chicharones had what seemed to be bone pieces that almost chipped my teeth so i had to stop eating them.the service was great.the music volume was the problem. the band playing was actually really good but i couldn't get past the pain in my ears, nor the fact that I couldn't hear my dinner guests when they were yelling instead of talking. yelling. couldn't hear them. I tried to get a pic of the other guests plugging their ears, but it felt wrong to post a pic of someone without their knowledge or consent.nope.
Be the first to ReplyFood was good and the portions were good.
We had the cielito lindo molcajete and that was more then enough for 2 people. Margaritas were great with a good amount of alcohol. Only downfall is our waitress would leave us unattended for too long. I love going on Fridays to see Carlosycharlos

Came here for my birthday with some girlfriends and loved the vibe of this restaurant the moment we walked in. From the wall of the aesthetically organized tequila to the murals all over the walls, and the live performances, this place definitely delivers an amazing dining experience. The food was tasty, a little pricier than I anticipated and felt that it was interesting that chips and salsa needed to be ordered, as in nothing is complimentary. Bummer. My favorite about this place was the variety they offered in salsa, mole and even the drinks. I hope to come back soon and try more than the chicken mole negro I ordered.
Be the first to ReplyI lived in Old Torrance for 15 years, when this place
I lived in Old Torrance for 15 years, when this place opened I was excited but when I tried the food I was disappointed, but being who I am I gave it a second chance, then gave it a third chance and so on, and ended up still being let down. The mole negro isn't good at all, the carnitas is dry, the chicken is bland, the soda's are always flat. I try a different dish the times that I have been and I get the same results, disappointment. Not sure if the chef needs to change the recipe or maybe it's the poor quality of food they are buying. Lastly the staff can be more attentive, but that's a different story, don't want to beat a dead horse.
Be the first to ReplyService was fast and good.
We did have reservations so that also made it easier. We went in Thursday, and it was crowded. They have a bolero group playing that was great! The food was really tasty. We had the nopales salad appetizer which was delicious. The green sauce and ribs I think it was and the borrego. Both where really tasty. The salsas are really good too, they taste authentic.
Be the first to ReplyArrived for a reservation on valentines day with my partner
Arrived for a reservation on valentines day with my partner but apparently they had a mix up and wanted to sit us at the bar stools ? Before we were able to leave they figured something out and sat us at a proper table but with the condition that we ate and left in 30 minutes before the other reservation arrived. A little bit of an annoying service. Had some very good appetizers but the Molรฉ I received was just disappointing. The chicken was so dry it dehydrated every ounce of saliva in my mouth and the molรฉ was a weird watery, runny, strange tasting mess. Cant forget the side of cold rice that didnt make it on time to be microwaved. Other then that the ambiance and vibes of the place are nice, its a cool place to just have a drink and talk with friends, just wouldnt come for the food again.
Be the first to ReplyThe mole enchiladas are tasty with lots of sauce.
Restaurant seemed short staff for the amount of tables with diners when I was there for lunch on a Wednesday, Feb 15th at 11:45 AM. Slow service. We were not in a hurry but it took awhile for us to have a server take our order and then for the food to come to our table.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food.
Nice happy hour and excellent service. The elote is excellent and the margaritas are top notch. Definitely will be back.

Nice restaurant, free parking, great ambiance and drink selection. The food is alright although a bit pricey.
Be the first to ReplyWe were told by a neighbor this place had awesome Berrian
We were told by a neighbor this place had awesome Berrian tacos, and the food was great. I called inadvance to see about reservations and were assured we didn't need them seeing it was 5:15. They also assured me they had authentic barria tacos. We arrived at 5:30 and sat in the bar area. We were I formed it was happy hour till six o'clock. Finally at 5:501 they finally took out drink order, at 5:58 they brought our drinks and Sayyid happy hour will bo ending at 6. The waiter purposely avoided us and ran the clock our so we could not reorder under happy hour.At 6: 02 he came and asked for our order, we both ordered the goat tacos which they claimed were reL barrie style. They were not! Not close.Being delayed 1/2 hour to prevent us from ordering more than one drink and ordering under the happy hour was and is dishonest. The waiter passed us several times without looking at us and just plain ignored the 2 of us.Way over priced. We will never return. The bad part of the hole meal was we were charged $17. For 2 corn tortiilas rolled with a small dolop of meat with a pinch of onion cabbage and jalapeรฑo chopped pepper. Oh 2 tiny dried lemon quarters. There is no way those 2 tacos were $17. They can never justify them to anyone. We will never recomend this place.
Be the first to ReplyI'll keep it simple.
Very average all across the board. That's it. Food, service extremely average (if anything below average but I am biased torward the FnB industry, hence the 3 stars)
Be the first to ReplyI thought i wasn't a fan of mole but.

Be the first to ReplyWent for happy hour.
Had to eat at the bar. The bar staff was excellent! We had great food and great drinks. We had an enjoyable visit. We had fun watching the bartenders make drinks.
Be the first to ReplyI came here on a Sunday afternoon.
I would recommend doing reservations if you have the chance because it was pretty busy. The service overall was decent. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we waited for our table. The drinks were yummy. I had the carnitas tacos which was also very good. They were filled with meat and the sauce was delicious. We also shared the salsa and chips between 4 people which was plenty. A great treat to our late lunch was the mariachi that performed. They perform on Friday's and Sunday's.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my 1st time here and had to try the carnitas tacos.
They did not disappoint! The perfect amount of spice and flavor!
Be the first to ReplyWe tried a number of dishes at Madre when we went for
We tried a number of dishes at Madre when we went for dinner.--Borrego barbacoa (lamb): Very good. Lots of lamb and all of the fixings. I particularly liked the spicy pureed beans that came with the lamb.--Enchiladas Oaxaquenas: Enchiladas in a your choice of Oaxacan sauce. Good, but I've had better moles in other LA area restaurants.--Enchiladas Mexacanas: Traditional Mexican enchiladas. Good, but the restaurant will only let you have one sauce, red or green, no combos allowed.--Enchiladas Mole Negro: Enchiladas in a black mole sauce. Good, but not great.--Tlayuda Doblada with chorizo: A large, flat tortilla folded over and stuffed with chorizo. Good. The restaurant charges $6 for a basket of chips and 3 small ramekins of salsa. Really???Free underground parking is available. The waitstaff is very friendly. The 2 greeters at the front of the restaurant act as if seating customers is an annoyance.
Be the first to ReplyI had the Molcajete Oaxaqueรฑo and it tasted like metal to
I had the Molcajete Oaxaqueรฑo and it tasted like metal to me. They don't give chips and salsa here for free, you have to pay for it which is fine. But they don't bring it until after you get the food. They didn't give any tongs to grab food from the molcajete either, I had to ask. Waste of money.
Be the first to ReplyDon't know why I didn't review this place sooner.
I've been here about 15 times and everytime the food is perfect, the staff is nice and accomudating and sometimes I get lucky and catch their live music. If you love tequila, mezcal, and food you will love this place. Chris at the bar (if I recall correctly) served us yesterday and was lovely. Thanks! Try the mole!
