The customer is never right, but always wrong
Satire books are written about such establishments that are so wrapped up in their sense of self that they have little comprehension what the real world is about. Staff were conceited and generally unpleasant adhering to some Stasi code of inflexibility when it comes to menu choices. The "I'm sorry we don't do x... " was about as sincere as asking a dead person if there is anything they can do for you. All in all, to be avoided unless you want overpriced food (mostly lentils and salad) and to be made to feel guilty for not saving the turtles single-handed.

Wonderful shoreline restaurant. Excellent view and service. We ordered the spaghetti squash lasagna and the farmer’s wife’s chicken. Very satisfied. We will return!
Be the first to ReplyExpensive and Mediocre Customer Sevice
I was very surprised by how busy this restaurant was so far into the afternoon it was. I tried to call them to put in a to-go order but no one picked up. The gentleman at the host stand did not seem happy or eager to help me but he took my order. It was very expensive for what I was ordering. Malibu Farm had a monopoly on the Malibu pier as they have the only two restaurant on it, at either end. I probably should have gotten food at the cafe verses the restaurant. I got the steak flatbread. It was very hot when I got it (the lady helping at the host stand was much more pleasant and helpful compared with the man). The flatbread was sloppily put together with globs of toppings and huge hard to eat chunks. It was really good, but the service rubbed me the wrong way.
Be the first to ReplyMalibu Farm is crazy yummy; relaxing Malibu ocean views
This was our 1st stop after getting off the plane and getting a rental car. Looked super busy (along with the Malibu pier in general), but they did a fantastic job of keeping the line moving. Seemed like most parties were larger as well, so smaller parties will fare better. A variety of lounge outdoor seating as well as traditional table seats. We ended up with a table for two right along the glass overlooking the ocean. Outstanding beginning and super yummy food. We got the Malibu nachos as an app, crab cake and build-your-own-fish-tacos for our entrees!! A must on your visit as well as Malibu in general!!
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype :(
As someone who is avid user of social media I was excited to try Malibu Farm after the hype surrounding it on the internet. We went to the location in Malibu, good news is that the view from any table is gorgeous because it is right on a pier that looks out at the water. So location wise, it is stunning. Our waitress was really the worst… totally ignored us, did not ask us if we wanted to start with drinks, and when we put in our order, all of the appetizers and main courses came at one time instead of being spread out appropriately. If it was her first day (not sure but what it seemed like) I understand, but she was extremely rude and it made our experience unpleasant. The food was okay… probably would have been better if we were not served our appetizers and main courses all at the same time, but nothing to write home about. Overall I would give it a 5/10, but only go for the view.

The place is amazing, we went for a breakfast/brunch meal and we were not disappointed! The view is amazing and worth the road trip from LA!

Excellent drinks. Spectacular views and outdoor seating. Great lunch food. Attentive staff. Birds are a nuisance - don’t leave your food unattended if you still want to eat it. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyA perfect way to end a day in Malibu
We just had a fabulous meal with outstanding service. Our server, Maria, greeted us warmly and took care of everything with a smile. She was incredibly busy but never got flustered or impatient with people. The food was excellent. They had a wide variety of vegetarian options with wonderful flavors. Grilled chocolate cake for dessert. YUM! The setting was beautiful and they had a fantastic playlist of music, not too loud to accompany our meal. Make a reservation! We had a reservation for later in the evening but we got there early and they honored it without hesitation.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful setting, service was ok
Was excited to eat here. The location is amazing. The service was lacking. No one checked in, water made us feel like we were doing them a favor for being there. My daughter's food came out 10 mins after the groups. Would not eat here again.
Be the first to ReplyA nice finish to a fun packed day.
Resturant service was attentive, offered the day’s fresh entree and excellent food. We will return when we visit Malibu again. This was right next door to our hotel accommodations.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect spot on the water
Picturesque, casual dining spot with great service, fantastic food with a Malibu twist, and awesome desserts. Dog and kid friendly, outdoor seating is along the pier, with additional indoor seating. We went at 12:30 on a Saturday and it was bustling, but we were seated right away. They have a pretty extensive variety of a menu for food and drink, with daily/seasonal specials. All the servers were super chill and helpful, and the patrons we did chat with were all friendly. There’s lots of veg, vegan, and gluten free options which made me very happy. Presentation was also on par. Very busy but service was quick. You will pay a little more, however it was 100% worth it. I had strongly suggested we return for dinner same-day, but we were located an hour away and no one wanted to make the trek again. Would definitely recommend and return. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Different menus for start of pier and the end. We ate at the end and the food was amazing! Ordered at counter found a table and food came quickly! Had BLT and crab cake sandwich.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place, terrible service
The place has a great view and the food was nice, I’m giving it a one star review for the service, which was just terrible.
Our waiter, a young gentleman, was rude to us the whole time and didn’t want to make any effort.
We were really cold and we asked if we could be seated inside, as it was completely empty, he said it was impossible (there were so many empty tables inside the whole time we were at the restaurant)
We requested blankets, and he only wanted to bring us 4 when we were 7. And the blankets were filthy.
He didn’t even want to make an effort to bring the heaters closer to our table.
When it was time to pay we asked if we could split the bill and he literally said “I could do that but it is too much effort, so I won’t, just pay with one card and give the money to each other later” for us that was such an inconvenient as we didn’t know each other, it was just a business lunch, so we insisted on splitting the bill but he said he wouldn’t do it.
It was such a shame that we had this terrible experience, because the place looks lovely, and I’m sure if we would have had another waiter we would have enjoyed our lunch.
Dessert only visit, but wow!
We arrived right before close and without reservations but all we wanted was dessert. The owner was so kind and welcomed us in to order. Their Grilled chocolate cake with salted caramel ice cream and sliced strawberries was magical. The cake was so light yet had such a rich dark flavor. Such lovely ocean views with the restaurant being located right at the start of the Malibu Beach Pier. They also offer merchandise with their logo. My friend bought one of their cozy blankets. I wished that we had more time in the area so that we could return for a full meal.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful view, good but expensive food and parking
Next time we go to Malibu farm, we will be going to the Cafe to see if the food and drinks are priced more in line with the quality and serving size of the food on the plate. Parking across the street also costs 25.00. Service is very average. Ouch.
