Yummy and cozy
We went many times during our stay in NY at Maman on the 44: great staff, lovely atmosfhere and delicious food. I will miss that place and I came home with a new addiction: Lavender hot chocolate....
Be the first to ReplyGreat cookie!
Yummy nutty chocolate chip cookie! Just wish it was warm! I also think it was interesting that the pastries vary in size. Some are quite a big larger than the others.
Be the first to ReplyThe rudest service I’ve encountered
Came 4 people couple of hours after breakfast, just wanted to have cup of coffee and warm drinks. The place was not full, and after we made our order, they rudely took the crockery from the table approached us and asked us to pay the bill and leave the table as we didn’t order food. Disgusting…

Lovely spot for breakfast/brunch in a lovely restaurant just off Bryant park. Reasonably priced and nice service. Will return for sure.
Be the first to ReplyWho knew there was a Little Paris neighborhood in NYC?
We had heard great things about Maman so were happy to visit and try it out. We went late morning/early afternoon during a day of shopping in SoHo and were happy we did. We had a Chocolate Croissant, Three Avocado Toasts (one with a friend egg, one with a scrambled egg and one plain), plus coffee. All were fantastic and next time we are in SoHo we’d happily take the walk over to Little Paris to try more things on the menu.

I give it 2 because some of the staff were absolutely lovely. Food was absolutely baaaad. Cmon if you're calling it crossiant atleast give us the layers, the taste of butter or FFS bake it right through. What a waste of money for an unbaked pastry.

Awesome breakfast, table service and to go (you can take a high cheer as option). We took mocha, cookies and chocolate croissant.
Be the first to ReplyTasty lunch but slow service
While out shopping in Soho we were looking for a quick lunch and found Maman's. The line up was not too long but it took 20 minutes before we could place our order. The area where you line up is cramped and the staff are stepping over one another as they take your order, etc. We then headed outside to sit at a table and it took another 20 minutes before our food finally arrived. I had a grilled cheese sandwich which was OK as I didn't really need the grilled veggies on top of the cheese. My daughter very much enjoyed her roasted chicken sandwich, plus a tasty cookie. We did enjoy the cute atmosphere.

Cute, cozy, delicious, friendly, absolutely lovely space :)
The portions are generous but aren’t enormous. Just the right size. Atmosphere is very nice. Food is fresh and delicious:)
TO AVOID ! BAD BAD BAD SERVICE AND RUDE MANAGER
We had our breakfast at maman soho .. food is okay, but the service … the staff … is all to redo !!
Waited 25 min to get our cofees, to hear that they serve them “to go” because we had finished our food ! Of course I finished my food , 20-25 min after getting a chocolate croissant !!
+ The manager is agressive and tells you that it’s common in NY to get cofees later !! Well it is NOT common !!! In other v
Places , the staff is coreclty formed , or at least friendly with the customer or try to be sorry ….
Maman soho: TO AVOID !!
Great food!
The food is very good. The place is cozy. If you're going to sit down to eat, you have to get your coffee in front of the restaurant, I didn't like the experience.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely very good!

Extreme disrespect from staff; beyond upsetting experience
I can’t stress enough what a terrible and disturbing experience I had here due to the rudeness of a waiter. If you look at Maman’s Instagram, they have pictures of people using laptops at their shops. I also have walked by their other locations numerous times and seen people working on laptops. Knowing this, I thought it would be a nice place to get some work done on a Monday evening. AFTER paying for an $8 chai latte and sitting down outside on the sidewalk, I took out my laptop and began to work using my hotspot (I didn’t even check for WiFi). A few minutes later the waiter came out and informed me of a “company wide” no laptop policy. I laughed because I thought he was joking. He came back again a few minutes later and rudely told me to put my laptop away. I said I’m sorry, I thought that was a joke. I closed my laptop halfway because I was in the middle of a file transfer and would lose data if I closed it. I sat back on my phone, annoyed, but not using my laptop. He then came out two more times, telling me I couldn’t have my laptop on the table. I assured him I wasn’t using it, but he continued to harass me. If harass seems like a strong word, trust me I wouldn’t be using it if I didn’t feel I was being harassed. He came out again, this time raising his voice. I began to shake and felt like I couldn’t breathe. I’ve never had a panic attack before, but I think that’s what happened to me then. Through tears, I asked him to please leave me alone. He wouldn’t, and told me I needed to leave. I told him I would but I needed a minute to calm down. He again walked away, and shortly came back. I left, shaking uncontrollably, in tears and gasping for breath. I have never felt so uncomfortable, unwelcome or disrespected in my life. It’s a shame, because I love the look of Maman and admire the careful design and artistry that has gone into making these cafes. I will never go back, and urge you to never go because I don’t want anyone to ever be treated the way he treated me. I am completely shaken by this incident and wish I could forget it. Below are two photos from Maman’s Instagram advertising use of laptops at various locations.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food. … but
I was excited to see Maman open on University recently and appreciate the addition to the neighborhood. Overall, quite good and excellent food across the board. Staffing has also improved and they've worked out some early kinks. My only complaint - which has changed my frequency of visits - is their recent changes to their salads. Specifically, over the past couple of weeks, they have reduces their portions by what seems like 40%. I dont appreciate having to supplement my lunch with a slice of pizza after paying $23 for a salad with chicken. Seems to be an issue just with the salads as sandwiches are fine. C’mon Maman!
