Just insane how good everything was….
The food was just out of this world good. It’s impossible to describe in words how delicious it was. Yes it’s expensive. Some places this price are worth it and this was one of them. When places are booked for three months out don’t call it overpriced.

Try to book reservations ahead. Or get there right when they open. Had an amazing meal. Beautiful location, their beach area is picture perfect! The short rib was the best I have ever had. Sea Turtles on the beach.

We have been traveling to Maui for 40+ years and each visit requires at least one lunch at Mama’s Fish House. However, we think this visit was our last. In 2021 we noticed the service was not as it was prior to the pandemic, but the food and ambiance was still stellar. Prices had increased significantly, but that was true everywhere. Our 2023 visit was not a good experience either. Therefore based on the still increasing prices, we will search for other options. Our server was not very pleasant, it was an inconvenience to elaborate on the fish and the preparation. She asked four times if we we were ready for more iced tea without refilling the glasses. Stop interrupting our conversation and either bring more tea or refill the glasses. The server had an assistant, who did not assist with our table at all. I sat with a dirty plate in front of me for 15 minutes. I waited for a lengthy time to order dessert. All in all, it is a beautiful setting and the food is excellent, but extreme cost and average service will force us to other restaurants.

The only reservation available for my wife’s birthday was 11:30 am. Thinking that it might make for a less Happy Birthday we went anyway. It couldn’t have been better. Going in the daylight allowed a wonderful view of the water. The menu is the same and the service was still the finest in Maui. The food was its usual superb along with great service. While very expensive it is a treat that you should give yourself. And don’t worry the time of your reservation it will still be world class.

Mama's is a special place for special occasions or just because you are in Hawaii! We have gone 4+ times already over the years & will return as the food and service is just so wonderful. Fish is so fresh. I am hooked on the fish curry so it is what I get each time-but others I have dined with order other items and love them all. They have some lovely desserts, if you love chocolate then the Black Pearl is for you. They also have a comprehensive wine list. We were able to take home the half bottle we did not finish. Service is quite fast so if you want to linger tell your waiter to pace the meal or you will be in and out in less than an hour. Reservations a must and yes, it is quite pricey but as the meal is so delish / special it's ok. Also go before dark so you can get the pictures as it is a lovely spot!

Looks like their success has gone to their heads - stopped by last Friday mid-afternoon for a drink at the bar and the "guards" ran us out of the parking lot - "NO ROOM HERE" they said - you can leave and try later....I guess you have to give them Kudos for popularity - but their attitude sucks big-time. It looks like the lady "Gatekeeper" at the front desk takes quite the pleasure out of sending potential customers away....We won't be back.

Without question- the best meal of the trip! We were skeptical the food/service could be as good as advertised, but Mama's did an incredible job. The Kanpachi was absolutely incredible! We also really enjoyed the Macidenia Mahi Mahi. The waiter(young gentleman from West Texas) was very friendly and had great recommendations for our group. Finally the deserts were fantastic. Thanks for a great meal!

Mama's was absolutely thee best dining experience ever! The food itself was unbeatable. The environment both inside the restaurant as well as the grounds outside were superb. It is a must go - the best meal we ever had!

Location is a little out of the way but well worth the drive. Food is pricy but again well worth it. Ampshere was amazing. The wood works in the place are beautiful. Book way in advance of your trip.

We loved everything about Mama’s Fish House. The food was delicious. The restaurant was beautiful Hawaiian style. The location was on a beautiful beach view. The service was wonderful.

This was by far my favorite day on Maui, and we had a whole lot of great experiences. It was magic from the first moment. After the initial checkin, we walked down to the beach and the restaurant, seeing from the outside Mamas Fish House. Charming is enough of a word, perfection comes close. I loved that the restaurant isn't massive, but busy and hopping. the decor was perfect, just right for a beach restaurant, but with unusual and lovely touches, like the carved wood benches, and canvas roof in one room. And the food? Ive been throwing around a lot of perfects, but starting with a ginger cocktail, to the fish, to the desert, everything just seemed to be in sync. fresh beautiful, but not fussy flower arrangements complimented everything, and yes, the music was just right. a delightful combination of Hawaiian traditional music, and fun 60 and 70s jazz. I would go back to Maui just for this experience

We had read a lot about the restaurant before booking, we booked 7 months before coming as we were on a cruise with NCL, it has to be one of the best meals I have had not only the food was great but the location is to die for.

One restaurant you’ll be glad you didn’t miss! You will need to make your reservations now if you plan to visit 6 months to a year from now! The food, the service, and the view is awesome! Worth every penny!

Excellent food and a great experience. Its expensive but, definitely worth the costs. Meals are delicious and service is great. Very relaxing atmosphere and the flower arrangements are beautiful along with the grounds outside the restaurant. Exceptional food and service.

This was truly the most amazing dinner we had while in Maui. The restaurant is beautiful, the grounds are breathtaking, food is delicious, and their staff are delightful. From the moment our car was parked until we left was an A+ experience.

Fine dining with island comfort. View, service, food were all terrific. One of our best meals on Maui for sure. Our server was very attentive but we did not feel rushed. Our dinners were beautiful and well-prepared. I would definitely go back. The grounds alone are beautiful enough to see again. A Maui tradition for a reason!

I balked at the price, but everything I ate was absolutely incredible. The setting is gorgeous too and was a wonderful destination in and of itself. In the end, it was worth every penny, it’s a very special place.

I’ve been coming to Mamas for about 10 years and I finally decided to do a review. Mamas is simply the best of anywhere time and time again. Excellent service coupled with superb quality ingredients and ambiance makes for the perfect dining experience if you can get a reservation. We typically make a mamas reservation, then plan our flights to Maui, the whole trip revolves around it and it’s worth every penny.

Not the same anymore. Rude valet attendant and hostess. Said one thing over the phone and 10 minutes later when we showed up different story with rude demeaning attitude. Like they don’t care any longer because they have the name. Food was ok. Nothing spectacular.

A wonderful, special dining experience with amazing food and staff. Everything was fresh caught that morning (we even got the name of the fisherman!) and beautiful. Loved every moment.

If you are able to get a reservation @ Mama’s, book it. The food was delicious. We went with 4 adults and 6 kids. The kids menu is small, but all were happy. All four adult’s food was outstanding. I had Mama’s Curry, which had 3 local fish in tasty curry sauce. Very cool atmosphere as well.

Everybody we know who has been to Maui said we had to go here They we’re right Was the best dinner we have ever had in 50 years The menu selection was unbelievable and the food was prepared to perfection The staff and service matched the food experience - fantastic But this experience comes with a price $$$$ but we’ll worth it Oh yes the view simply beautiful try to time your reservation for sunset
