Their tteokbokki is fantastic and the atmosphere is nice.
I would definitely come back for their food

The chicken was pretty good, but it depends on which flavor is being ordered. I liked the mayo jalapeño fried chicken the best, for the rest I let my boyfriend eat it all. A great hangout place!!

We came here for an early dinner on a Saturday and there was already a line. There isn't that much seating inside. The half honey fried chicken and the half jalapeno mayo fried chicken were really tasty - the chicken was crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside and they were all relatively big pieces. The budae jigae wasn't as special and we felt that it lacked more filling on the inside. We were also surprised that it didn't come with any side dishes which we normally find at Korean restaurants. The service was pretty good. The seafood pancake took a while to come out because they burned it a few times before getting it right - the server was very apologetic and comped that portion of our meal. The pancake was very crispy and different than normal seafood pancakes since they use panko. We'd come back again to try other things on their menu.

Ordered takeout and when they say this Korean comfort food, there were no lies told. It was delicious. To go service was quick and it's a cute little spot with friendly workers. I'll be exploring there menu for sure.
Be the first to Replyone of the best places to eat in the area.
not fancy but good home cooked food. breakfasts are great and the best juiciest burgers around. people are friendly and accommodating. I'm a regular.

Stopped here for lunch since we were in the area and left fat and happy. Their katsu meal is delicious; my friend really enjoyed their katsu mayo. They have good lunch specials and a large menu. Definitely recommend!
Be the first to ReplyBelow average Korean food that looks better than it tastes.
My whole table agreed that the food was pretty mid -- it feels like this place is cutting corners. The spring roll lacked flavor, the tteokbokki was overly chewy, the galbi jjim bibimbap was cold because it didn't come in a stone bowl & the Katsu was late AND fried in old oil giving it a nasty taste. The cherry on top? Kimbap takes 25 min -- how does that make any sense?! Especially for the price I feel like things should be waaaay better than they were. Probably one of my least favorite Korean spots near Seattle -- pretty disappointing, unfortunately.

Ordered the Galbi-Jjim Bibimbap and Seafood Pancake about 15-20x over the year. But this latest order on Dec 1, I got very bad food poisoning. Never coming here again.

Be the first to ReplyLove the food.
Every dishes that I've tried were all good. From Kimbap(both mama and tuna), Bulgogi to Hambak steak, everything tasted soooo good. Definitely recommended. Service is good too!
Be the first to Replycomfort korean food.
i CRAVE mamas all the time. this review is long overdue. i love this place. i always get the chicken katsu (over eggs, rice, and a bed of grilled onions), the tteokbokki, and budae jjigae. so much flavor and comfort in these dishes. restaurant is small, so most of the time there is a wait list going, but it is well worth the wait!i ALWAYS come back here. 10/10

Food: (9/10) The food here is definitely very comforting! Been wanting to try Mama's Kitchen for so long and when i finally did, it did not disappoint! I absolutely enjoyed the Galbi-Jjim Bibimbap! It was $20 for the bowl but the portion was pretty big. I had enough leftovers to enjoy it for another day! 100% would go back to get this bibimbap when i'm craving for it! I also ordered cold noodles (not pictured) for the first time and it was soo good! The noodle has a nice chew to it, which is very much up my alley! Had leftovers for this too! So portions are pretty good hereService: (10/10)The employees here were very attentive! They had saw that i dropped my chopsticks and got me a new pair right away! Also, I would recommend coming early for dinner to beat the crowd since i can see that they can get pretty busy with the limited seatings they have space for.

Mama's Kitchen has been a regular spot for me to years! I've tried almost everything on the menu by now, so I'm going to try to do a general, honest, overview! If you're expecting your standard Korean restaurant, this isn't it - and I say this in a positive way. Mama's Kitchen makes their dishes their own, which is what I really love about them. You can taste the home style cooking and love that goes into their dishes! Some of my favorites are their Katsu Mayo over Rice, Seafood Premium Ramyun, Kimchi Cheese Rice, and Kimbap, though I could probably list most of the menu. Their selections may seem more limited than other places, but I think it's worth it for the quality. Also their radish kimchi is sooooo delicious. Pros:Great serviceDelicious, homestyle Korean comfort food!!Unique selectionsCons:Can get very busyA liiiiittle bit pricey for the portion sizeAll in all, this place is one of my favorite Bellevue restaurants. I'll never forget during COVID when I ordered takeout and they wrote a really sweet note in the bag. I think I've taken all of my visiting friends and family here as well and they all LOVED it. Thank you, Mama's Kitchen

A small restaurant in the Factoria area (not Bellevue) in a small strip mall. The menu was okay, portions were okay, slightly higher priced than most Korean restaurants, and the taste was meh. Worst part of the visit? No banchans - if you love the Korean side dishes like I do, they provide none! So disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyHearty comfort food.
They have lunch combos for a little extra - 3 pieces of gyoza and soda but I don't think it's significant enough to note. I'd stick to just an entree personally. We got a side dish of radish and that's it - not sure if they have side dish but it was strange to get just one.Kimchi Cheese Pancake - fluffy like a classic Korean seafood pancake. Not the crispy green onion pancake (obviously). Was more pancake than cheese than kimchi. Lots of dough, good amount of cheese throughout, underwhelming kimchi though.Bulgogi over Rice - bulgogi, rice, and onions. Very simple and comforting but nothing special. Pretty small portion though, in my opinion.Katsu Mayo over Rice - loved the katsu! Super soft and tender cutlet. Big fan of the egg, rice, and meat combo. Felt larger than the bulgogi and tastier too, so this would be a go-to.

I've had friends that I trust recommend this place so we were glad to finally give it try.Happy to say this is the 2nd best Jun ever (aka Seafood Pancake next to my wife's ) :DA nice twist with the added crunch of what is probably panko coating. Delicious. We also ordered the Ban Ban Chicken and Mamas Kimbap. Will probably try something other than the Kimbap for the sake of variety but we'll be putting Mamas in the rotation for sure.

Great Korean BBQ spot, but watch out, it doesn't have to say spicy to be SPICY! I had to pause and wait for the pain to subside before finishing. However, it was yummy enough to fight through the pain. Place is small, so you may have to wait at lunch time for a seat.
Be the first to ReplyAnytime I have a random craving for kimbap, you best
Anytime I have a random craving for kimbap, you best believe I find myself ordering from Mama's Kitchen. I've only ever tried Mama's kimbap here, but let me tell you, I have had it at least 5 times now and every single time it hits the spot! Each and every bite is absolutely delish and pairing it with the cubed radish kimchi makes it even more divine. I'm not sure what you're up to right now, but I know that you should stop what you're doing and head to Mama's Kitchen and try this delish dish asap!!!
Be the first to ReplyWe waited about 30 min just to get in.
Just to place our order took about 20 min. And took about another 20-30min for our food to come out. Last dish came out when we were almost all done with everything else. Wait time = could be better. Food was good, the fried eggroll, tempura, and gyoza on the ttukbokki was subpar, Cheolmyun was fresh, good and meat was smoky and cooked well. The Shikhye was the best thing I had. I really wish the establishment was bigger and served alcohol (maybe even just beer), ambiance was causal, medium noise level. Servers were not that attentive, you can tell their main goal was to get the orders out to tables and get the DoorDash orders ready .. otherwise we had minimal attention to us when we were dinging in.
Be the first to Replya good restaurant for Korean comfort foodBAN BAN CHICKEN
a good restaurant for Korean comfort foodBAN BAN CHICKEN (4/5): There are 12 pieces in this dish. 6 pieces are regular Mama's fried chicken. The other one was the hot and spicy chicken. They were both very delicious to eat. TTEOKBOKKI (3.5/5): This is definitely someone's comfort food. i think it was delicious and I like the length of the rice cakes. However, I don't think it was that unique in flavor. In addition, it was probably not the best to pair with the chickenMAMA'S KIMBAP (5/5): Such a good appetizer to share with friends and family. I highly recommend getting this kimbap. + it comes with this pickled radish that was so crunchy and delicious. Service (4/5): There was really one waiter who was waiting tables and taking orders etc for the whole restaurant while the other waiter was fulfilling online + to-go orders. Parking (4/5): There is limited parking in the parking lot of the plaza. I WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK TO MAMA'S KITCHEN - I REALLY WANT TO TRY THE BIMBIMBAP- Please vote below, comment, and like the photos to give me feedback on my reviews -For more reviews and photos, follow my instagram: @nvc.eats
Be the first to ReplyThe stew and kimbap were my favorite.
The chicken was ok. The flavor was good but more dry. Definitely felt homey.
Be the first to ReplyWould give it a zero if I could.
Waiter was so rude. Come here if you want attitude and arrogance. It was so hot today, (90 some degrees in Seattle) so we asked to change the table because we sat right next to the front door. The place was not busy, there were about 3 tables available and no one waiting. He said NO to us because people were waiting for the table, and he pointed our name in the waiting list. I said that was our name. He must have been embarrassed. Then he started talking about some nonsensical things about their policy on tables. To make a long story short, we just walk out of the door. It was not worth of it. Come here if you do not care about the service. Do not even expect that. Period. And this place overcharges people. Very expensive for a small portion. If you want a decent food and ruin your day because of the bad service, please come here. Your call.
Be the first to ReplyWe chose to dine in but this place prioritizes to go orders
We chose to dine in but this place prioritizes to go orders way too much. We put our name on a list, got a call after about 15 minutes that a table was ready, seated and placed an order for three items. At 25 minutes, we asked the waiter how much longer our food would be (we were hungry!) and he said "soon". We asked again at 40 minutes. The. The table next to us that had placed their food after us received their food. Then he brought us one of the dishes and we asked him to check on the rest of the food again. He made a comment about how "it's coming, the other tables are waiting just as long as you, the kitchen is small..." when my partner said "okay well if it's going to be much long, let's just go ahead ahead cancel the rest of the order." At 45 minutes, he said the chef had just put on the other food five minutes ago (so he had lied to us when he said it was on the way previous). At 60 minutes, still no food or update and the waiter was totally avoiding our table even more than before. My partner had to walk up and tell him to cancel the rest. We were charged for the Chadol Jjolmyeon ($20 before tax). It was decent but I don't think we'll return. I'm confused about why they chose to seat us and other tables if they can't handle the volume with their current staff and kitchen setup. I would have rather had a longer wait time before being seated at all (or just told they didn't have space for us) rather than be held hostage with the promise of kimchi cheese fried rice. The table next to us waited for 40 and they had ordered after us but got their dishes first.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is quite pricey compared to other Korean
This place is quite pricey compared to other Korean restaurants you can get the same dish in. But it is tasty, and tastes like well cooked meal. While not as often other restaurants, I would come back every now and them.
