Amazing food & service! โค๏ธ
The service & food was unreal. You can tell the ingredients they use are super fresh & the quality of them is top tier. Also, the final price of the dinner made the experience even more satisfying! Really recommend the falafel, the best one Iโve had in years. Really wanna thank MAOZ 8 the whole of the staff for making it an unforgettable experience!
Be the first to ReplyLovely food!
Me and my friend had a veggie feast there! We only paid about ยฃ25 each, when we had so much food we could barely walk after. Staff was polite and there's a more relaxed atmosphere than many restaurants. I understand that may not be everyone's cup of tea, but we didn't mind. Lovely food selections without having an overwhelmingly large menu. In general, it was a good time, and location is great, as it's super central. I'd definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, grteat location but very rude people.
We went there for a pre-theatre dinner with my family. The food was very good but as soon as we finished they asked us to pay and leave, no coffee nor dessert was offered. They spoiled the whole experience.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is a scam. Will never go back again
This restaurant is a cheat DO NOT GO THERE! Went there a week before Christmas with other half, the bill was ยฃ68 but when the guy input to the card machine it was ยฃ86, only realized I was overcharged the next day, been try to call the restaurant ever since to get my money back but all he says is they will investigate and get back to me but they NEVER did. Shame on you Maoz
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, great location, nice people
As it says above, the food was spot on, great for us vegetarians too. Ideal location for lunch before a theatre visit. Really nice people too. Fab little place that deserves every success.
Be the first to ReplyBest Mediterranean restaurant in soho
I can say itโs Best Mediterranean restaurant in soho I have visited so far I loved the food and service was brilliant Thank you guys
Be the first to ReplyThe best baba ganoush in London
This was a surprise meal and wallahi it didn't dissapoint! Warm welcome even though they weren't yet open so we sat outside in the sunshine before going inside. Nice decor and comfy seats (I like that they have window seats too if you're on your own) and menu of course is amazing So that baba ganoush? Beautifully smoky with a sweet freshness from the pomegranate seeds and a nutty tahini flavour running through it too. Had some beautiful baklava to finish too. Lovely food, lovely people and well be back!
Be the first to ReplyNew menu rolled out today.. Tasty food but hard to figure out how much to order.
Chicken and lamb kebabs were tasty as was the tomato salad and couscous. However the new menu is a bit different as the mains are meant to have sides added to create a complete meal. I would have loved and option to make it a "platter" or something with little tastes of dips, couscous etc without having to think about it!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Night at Maoz, Old Compton Street, Soho
Normally I grab a takeaway falafel wrap here at lunch as it is delicious and great value. They have progressed to a fully licensed bar and evening venue. Not big but it was busy. Claudia, her husband and the kitchen did an amazing job. Evening started with cocktails then a selection of Meze starters ( the crispy Aubergine was a stand out dish) then the mains a selection of Eastern Mediterranean dishes - vegans willingly accommodated. Finished off by deserts and coffee and limoncello. And such fantastic value for money for a west end restaurant. The atmosphere the whole evening vibrant.

I have been to Maoz 3 times now. The food is tasty although I prefer the schnitzel bites before. The staff are amazing. I had the hummus with Turkish bread, Korean bites and chicken skewer. All of which were very tasty.

The tube strike left empty tables Didnโt stop us! Pre theatre, brilliant food lovely staff A wonderful find, certainly the first of many more visits Thanks guys ๐
Be the first to ReplyFirst time eating Falafel.
I took my wife and kids to this place. We have never had Middle Eastern food before. It was amazing. Very friendly service and great food.
Be the first to ReplyYummy lunch spot
Came here for lunch with my family on Saturday afternoon and had a lot of delicious food. The prices are reasonable for the area and have already rebooked to come for dinner on Friday night based on my experience. New favourite quick eat stop for sure!
Be the first to ReplyVery average
Not great service, small portions, food is average. It was busy, which is to be expected on a saturday in Soho, but other than the staff being busy, it was very disorganised. The food was rather bland and we waited some time to order as nobody was available, so we seated 40 minutes before we could eat. Not worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplyMost expensive hummus
9 pounds for hummus and pitta. Looking at reviews this place used to be reasonable priced. Not so anymore. Complete tourist trap with average food. I would avoid.
Be the first to ReplySuperb
I visited Maoz in late April 2022. It was superb, excellent succulent skewers and brilliant waiting staff. Good ambience within. The waiter even threw on a couple of complimentary cocktails. Great place, would definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyFreshest falafel in town!
The food was amazing! Great choice for veggies/vegans, I'd recommend the veggie selection of dips, it was super tasty! Will definitely be coming back.
Be the first to ReplyClosed....
We booked a table over a month in advance for a joint family celebration and had all travelled to London to meet up for Dinner. We arrived at Maoz yesterday evening to find it was closed. No notification, no visible indication why it was closed and no answer when calling the restaurants number. Restaurants and hospitality in general have had a tough couple of years but with peoples spending power being diminished they will be selective. Appreciating it could have been due to sickness or unforeseen circumstances but clearly the curtsey of customer service was also absent.
Be the first to ReplyNeed to improve their booking system
As other reviews have stated, this resteraunt does seem to have a bit of a problem with bookings. We were seated with no problem, but we saw a couple having to wait outside for over 40 minutes to be seated at a table they had booked. We saw another couple walk out after realizing that their booked table was not available and a group of four having to wait. The restersunt is quite small so seeing people who have booked being asked to wait, and seeing waitresses panic, is a bit uncomfortable. We started to feel very rushed. The tables next to us had ordered teas, and were given a huge pot of tea that was presented beautifully with lemon slices and mint. It encouraged us to order some, but when we did (at the same price - ยฃ4.50) we were only given a small cup that was certainly half of what other tables had been given. I think that this was a tactic to ensure that we left sooner so they could sit some of the couples that were waiting.
The food was decent. I found the Tatzki bland, I dont belive it was home made. This was a bit disappointing as it cost ยฃ5 (without any bread). The Greek salad is a huge portion, for ยฃ8, it could easily feed 4. The desert menu is small and could do with some more mediterranean deserts (banana split doesn't really fit the menu).
I would go back, but I do believe they need to fix their booking problems. People book in advance for dinner in London, waiting 45 minutes for their table could put them in a very awkward situation whereby they risk running late for evening plans, or have to leave and find dinner elsewhere.
Great Service and Great Food
We came here after the theatre and the restaurant had only one other group seated. The staff were friendly and recommended dishes to us. As we had a starter, they checked with us when we wanted our main cooking. Food came out quickly, was hot, and tasty. Would visit again.

Booked up about a month in advance to ensure we had a table before heading to the theatre. Used the booking app from the restaurants own website. Arrived promptly only to be told rather abruptly there was no reservation and further more no room for us. VERY disappointed. No apology was given!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food, great service
Came here for a pre-theatre meal - the service was absolutely excellent. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. The food arrived quickly - we had two platters between two of us (dips platter and falafel board) and there was plenty to share - everything was delicious, I highly recommend it. We also had cocktails, which were outstanding!
Only one very minor quibble - the toilets (though clean) were disappointingly shabby for such a smart place.
Genuine Middle Eastern top quality food
Very nice and genuine Middle Eastern food of high quality and super friendly staff. We went 2 times and they even allowed us to bring a bottle for our very special occasion. Very affordable! In the evening when fully booked it may be a bit noisy.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food
Found this place whilst wandering around Soho looking for a light dinner. They had a limited menu at the time but what they did have they cooked to perfection.
The host was really friendly and the food was cheap as well as tasty!
Amazing experience
Wassim was a great host and made us feel so welcome! Food was delicious and came quickly even while busy - couldnโt recommend more!
