Whenever I come to NY, I make an effort to come to Marta.
It's located inside a hotel and would be difficult to locate if not for the fun sidewalk signs. It's walkable from the 1/2/3, and the yellow line, and Moynihan / MSG.The pizza is fantastic- wood fired, thin crust, good quality cheeses, aromatic basil, and sweet mozzarella cheese. There's table service and there's bar seating and there's pizza counter seating- my fave- where you sit by the two brick ovens. The service is always amazing and friendly and fast. Shoutout to Julian- my server this time- he was so sweet, and even topped off my water and got a new napkin for me for dessert.I love the butcher pizza and the margarita. I've had a bit of the truffle pizza but it's too rich for my taste (but if you're into truffle, it's worth the splurge... I'd recommend splitting it among friends for a slice per person. Ambiance is warm and cozy- despite being two levels and in a large restaurant. If you want to feel like you've escaped NY for a meal, you've gotta stop here!

Went for a late dinner mid week and the pizza was worth the late night. The thin, freshly baked crust was delicious and the serving size was just right. The restaurant is inside a hotel and much larger than I thought. The inside was beautiful and seemed like a place you can either dress up or wear something on the casual end. The staff was a newer waiter, but he was SO friendly and kind. Took our order in a reasonable manner and gave great recommendations. My friend and I ordered the chocolate cake for dessert after.
Be the first to ReplyThe first time I ate at Marta it had just recently opened.
It was crowded and noisy. I just returned for lunch for the first time since covid. The crowds have thinned out and the lights seemed turned down which I like. The food as always is great - lunch mainly apps ,salad and pizzas. Choose any they are all excellent. I especially love the olive oil cake.

Nice vibe & set up. Good for a small or big group. Definitely worth checking out.

The meatballs are to die for lolol but they only give you 3 it's an appetizer that I feel like should be a meal. Pizza was also amazing. Great wine specials. Sat at the bar with hubby and enjoyed a cute little night. Staff is super friendly and attentive.

Amazing food and great service! I ate the stracciatella pizza, it was tasty. The salad was really good and so were the carrots. Then we had the dark chocolate torta for dessert - wow! one of the best desserts i've ever had.

We chose this place almost randomly while walking off 5th Avenue. It turned out to be an exceptional experience. We sat at the pizza bar where you could watch the chef and his crew at work with the wood ovens. The food and drinks were superb. Definitely recommended.
Be the first to ReplyMarta is all about the pizza, but they do have a great food
Marta is all about the pizza, but they do have a great food menu as well. We came for restaurant week and arrived a half hour early for our 5pm reservation. We were seated early by the amazingly friendly host. Since we were early, we got to partake for the Happy Hour, which is not bar only and is daily from 3pm to 6pm. The Happy Hour is so worth it and has 4 pizzas that are half the price of the regular menu and the same size. My favorite pizza was the Stracilciatella. It was thin and crispy.Youu can taste all the ingredients from the phenomenal tomato sauce, fresh basil cheese, and olive oil. The restaurant week menu was also well worth it. I loved the thick cut panchetta. The only complaint I had with the dish was that the salad should have been plated on the side, not on top of the hot panchetta. The heat from the panchetta wilted the salad. The Chicken Meatballs was also great. They were moist and full of flavor. The staff is above and beyond friendly and attentive. If you do go, I'd suggest the Happy Hour since it is a great deal.

We did the restaurant week deal which included an appetizer, entree and desert. If I came in the future I'm not sure if I'd do 3 courses again, probably just get the pizza! I started off with the potatoes and garlic knots. The potatoes have a cheesy black pepper sauce on them that's pretty meh, but the potatoes themselves were good. The pizza was incredibly thin and a great size if you're just getting a personal for yourself. Very flavorful and not a ton of cheese. The service is pretty fast and attentive. Would totally go back

Wow!!!! Yes come here. Great vibes, great service, incredible food. I recommend the super Tuscan wine and any pizza. We ordered the truffle pizza souring pizza hou. They did not skimp. My boyfriend has a softer palette and we ordered the margarita and truffle Za. They were both balanced. Perfect amount of sauce, flavoring and topping.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant that serves pizza, calzones and drinks.
Pizza was good but we only feted too many toppings and it was too salty. Fun hip place

Snuck along an inconspicuous quiet street in NoMad, this establishment was hard to find the entrance as the word "Marta" is not stated on the glass doors. But those with reservations did not choose this place for its accessibility. They have heard about this gem, nestled in with an unassuming exterior. (Hint: It's in the lobby of The Redbury Hotel)According to The Infatuation, "the true test to any pizza place is their plain pie, and Marta's passes with flying color." I have to agree. We came here during the off hours on a Sunday between lunch and dinner at 3pm to take their opportunity of the half-priced pies until six. We ordered three pies and a calzone. I personally had never heard of this place. It was suggested by a friend who happens to be a chef. So, I was unprepared and had no expectations coming here. Then, my heart stopped ... ... at Stracciatella. We fell in love. Though it was not love at first sight, I knew I was intrigued enough to try it before any others. The creamy pulled mozzarella added a new dimension. However, I was not prepared for the subtle exquisite smooth and balanced flavors and textures until that first bite. And unlike other pies, with every bite, it remained the same--a predictable beautiful experience of perfection. Perfection. Yes, I had to say it twice. (Recommendation: Pairs really nicely with the 2019 Negroamaro Tenuta Rubino from Puglia.)For dessert, highly recommend and will not disappoint, the Expresso Martini consisting of Vodka, Caffe Marchio Expresso and Demerara. With good company, the food tastes even better. We stayed from 3pm - 630pm... relaxing, not rushed, spacious. If you can find this place, follow its scent and take a seat. You may find yourself in a parallel universe, but with extraordinary pizza pies.
Be the first to ReplyFirst time there on February 26th to celebrate my birthday.
The staff, appetizers, cocktails and especially the pizza was all top notch. Even had a very pleasant interaction with two of the leads of the television series 'New Amsterdam', both of whom couldn't be any nicer to my wife and me. There was one disappointment though. It was recommended that we order the steak for two. Which we did with two delicious sides. While the steak was seasoned well and cooked to to my liking, unlike other steakhouses (where we shared a porterhouse for two), it's really small for the $90+ price tag. It's really just enough for one hungry diner as the picture below shows, but sharing is really a stretch.Everything else was more than fine and we do plan on going to Marta again for their delicious apps, pizza and cocktails.

A friend an I had brunch at Marta this afternoon and it was absolutely wonderful! We began a Caesar salad, chicken meatballs and roasted artichoke, all very delicious. We shared a margherita pizza which was scrumptious and for dessert we the best tiramisu ever! The Waitstaff are delightful and it's clear that their first priority is to their diners, they are charming and friendly. We fell in instant like with "ZaZa" who won our hearts. Thank you Danny Meyer for a perfect experience.

great atmosphere! It gets busy but it's still very intimate!
Be the first to ReplyThis one has been on my pizza bucket list for ages.
Finally came here over the long weekend for Pizza Hour, which is basically a happy hour where you get half off every pie and drinks are $10. The pizza is thin crust (as in wafer-thin) and one-size (slightly bigger than personal). We got the Margherita and the Funghi. Both were excellent, though I had a slight preference for the Funghi which is a heavenly combination of mushrooms, mozarella, fontina, red onion, and thyme. Looking at neighboring tables, I kind of wish we'd gotten the Stracciatella, which is very similar to the Margherita but uses "creamy pulled mozzarella." My main quibble is that their salads aren't leafy enough. I like a big leafy salad to go with pizza, but they didn't seem to have that option. We got the Farro Piccolo, which was delicious. Also service was slow at first. The waiter was confused and didn't know that we were seated and waiting to order for a good 5-10 minutes. Overall, excellent experience.
Be the first to ReplySuch a nice and perfect place for dinner.
Very dim and private. Pizzas were amazing and the drinks too. Popped in during happy hour so very lucky! Very pricey but definitely worth it!

We hosted an event on Friday with Marta for 28 people on their mezzanine level with a set menu + open bar and had an amazing time! Great service with a big group. Rebecca was helpful for organizing the event (especially with dietary restrictions and allergies of our group) and appreciated Isaiah + Lopsang who were great the evening of. Cocktails and food were coming the whole evening - would highly recommend for an event the Marta Mista salad is a must order when you visit.

We finally tried the Florentine steak and it was certainly solid - though I would not say it matches up to, let's say, a rib-eye from Smith & Wollensky, or a tomahawk. It's smaller than what you would get from Peter Luger but it's a solid porterhouse. This one is seasoned with rosemary and sage, and grilled over coal. Unlike a standard steak, the flavoring is well marinated vs stemming from a coating. It came pre-cut into perfect slices. We're glad we tried it but will likely stick to the pizza and maybe test the pork chop next time!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, great ambience, spacious and overall great
Delicious food, great ambience, spacious and overall great service. Just make you don't come to this place without reservations. They are very popular and get very busy, so highly recommend making a reservation through Resy. My friends and I decided to come here for Restaurant Week Dinner on a Friday night after seeing what great options this place had for food and Restaurant Week for $39. They even had a Restaurant Week drinks section with $10 drinks, but they only had 3 drink options, which were not really my type of drink, but I tried the Amaro wine cocktail which was not terrible but I shouldn't probably just gotten a regular cocktail from their menu. For their Restaurant Week menu, we had the option to choose from an antipasto, a side or salad as our first course, then we had an option to choose a protein or pizza or calzone and a dessert. Some proteins had add on prices, same with the pizza add ones and dessert options. If you like thin crust pizza, this is definitely the place to come! All their pizzas are made in their open coal oven so you can basically watch your pizza being made if you sit close enough or walk by the oven area. I got the garlic knots, funghi pizza, and lemon pudding for my 3 dishes. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were great too. I was definitely stuffed and in a food coma by the end of the night. Our server and service was also great throughout the time we were there. Overall, fun place on a Friday night. Would definitely come back here again!

Came back here last night with a group of 6 and had a great time. I would say the service is consistently slow, especially the drinks, but that is somewhat to be expected given how big the space is and since everyone is having a tough time hiring. The food is great, and it's not terribly tough to get a spot for a medium sized group last minute given how big the space is
Be the first to ReplyOrdered on Goldbelly based on reviews.
Pizza's came a day late and at lukewarm (in fairness, bad weather delays). Each pizza was wrapped loosely in plastic wrap and had to re-wrap each one in order to put in freezer. Tried a pepperoni pizza and followed directions. I hate to be less than favorable on the quality, but there was no taste to the sauce as it was light as a base. Minimal cheese and again, no flavor. The serious issue is the pizzas burn (even when following specific directions from Marta). The crust is super thin, but the charred and overcooked effect ruins the possible flavor of the pizza. I ordered 4 basic pies for $114.00. Sadly, not at all worth the cost per pizza. I'm sure if you eat at the restaurant, it might be a lot better.
