I have come here a few times and the food isn't memorable, it''s okay at best. The ambience has always been nice. I find the staff and management conniving, never upfront with the customer. The portions are also on the small side. There have been much better italian restaurants on 9th Avenue in the area. So the two stars are because they have managed to stay open through Covid.. They try to create an atmosphere of serious business but nothing serious about the food. i have felt that had I been fluent in Italian, we would have had better treatment. It's pricey too for the kind of food they serve.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant gives a distinct bingo night vibe .
.. Our reservation was for 8:45 PM they couldn't get us a table till 8:56 the duck was good but the potatoes were bland, broccoli and cheese plain, the pasta bolognese was just edible, honestly presentation and taste was giving lean cuisine but with more calories ... Olive Garden is a better alternative
Be the first to ReplyI really wanted to like this restaurant since the interior
I really wanted to like this restaurant since the interior was beautiful and the location was wonderful, but it was really underwhelming. While the menu is extensive and definitely appeals to a large varied crowd, I just didn't feel like anything was particularly memorable. Also, it is definitely a date night restaurant since every other table besides our table of 4, were couples. We tried a few of the specials as recommended by other reviewers, but even they weren't very exciting. We tried the risotto special, eggplant parmesans chicken special in truffle sauce and the branzino. The risotto was fine -- it was roasted to a nice al dente texture with pesto sauce and shrimp that just did not fresh. The eggplant parmesan had a very bitter tomato sauce that just tasted a bit too canned for me. The chicken sauce was thick and unappetizing, luckily the branzino was pretty tasty. I'd also pass on dessert. We tried the torta ricotta and maybe it just wasn't what I thought it would be, but the texture was just too strange to me, like a flan consistency. The best parts about this restaurant are the location, service and the interior design.
Be the first to ReplyOur Concierge recommend this restaurant and it didn't
Our Concierge recommend this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Thankfully midweek, so we were seated promptly upon arrival, without a reservation. Atmosphere was vibrant and pleasant. The service was very friendly and attentive. All of our selections were well presented and very flavorful. The best thing was every dish was served hot like they should be. One of my top Italian meals of all time. The pork chop with truffle sauce was amazing! Only knock was coffee with our dessert wasn't even luke warm. However, the Tiramisu certainly made up for that.

It's been a while since I have been here and unfortunately I probably won't come back. The Riccio salad was tasty but the agnolotti ravioli was totally devoid of any flavor what so ever, I thought I should go to the CVS across the street and get a Covid test to see if I had lost my taste and smell but unfortunately I would have tested negative. Stick to the pizza or the specials, which the bartender forgot to tell me about.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of my favorites when I'm visiting NYC.
Always a great experience!A must visit when in New York

I enjoyed coming here on our NYC visit, but felt it could be better, especially given its nice, formal ambience. Had the Penne alla Masseria -- good flavors and presentation, but pretty heavy on the fat/salt in my opinion.Service was great, but maybe a little too attentive. Occasionally we were actively watched as we were eating, which isn't a problem but can be off-putting to some. Also had a weird blip with the OpenTable reservation. Called to confirm the day before, and right after I confirmed I got an email saying my reservation was cancelled. They assured me that it was still there on their side (it was).
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I went here after skating in Central Park.
It was on my friend's radar since it offered gluten-free pasta. The truffle gnocchi was some of the best I've ever had. Gnocchi was super light and soft. Truffle flavors were well infused throughout and a handful of truffle slices adorned the top of the dish. Price point was excellent for a dish like this at $32.50. My friends were extremely satisfied with their dishes too. They got the gluten-free pene in white clam sauce and orecchiette with broccoli rabe & Italian sausage. Atmosphere was upscale and sleek. Service was great and they accommodated my friend's allergies. Will stop by if I am in the area again.

The post pandemic NYC has been hit or miss on finding quality restaurants, that are run like local establishments, with high quality results at a fair price. This restaurant checks all the boxes. My visiting family needed a MONDAY evening seating for TEN people at 6:30 PM last Monday--an ordinarily impossible request. Masseria immediately provided our group with ample sitting. The location, near Columbus circle is accessible via bus, train--and most of the folks there, best I could guess, were locals. The kids ate best pizzas and pastas. The adults, a perfectly cooked breaded veal chop, spaghetti nero and well appointed salads. Wine decorates the walls and are at every price point. There is also a full bar. We live in Brooklyn, but we'll become regulars. Many thanks.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service.
Duck was exceptional. Pasta with sausage and broccoli was bitter. We did not like at all. Good selection of wine.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the service was fine. The food was disappointing, though. My main course, a pasta dish with broccoli rabe, was almost tasteless. The pasta itself was cooked just right, but the broccoli rabe was overcooked and just didn't have much flavor at all. My dessert, the flourless almond chocolate cake, was dry and came with the smallest scoop of vanilla ice cream that I've ever seen. On the whole, I expected more out of a meal at their prices.

We made an Opentable Reservation and were seated promptly. Kudos to the restaurant for checking vaccinations and ALL the staff were wearing masks throughout our meal. The restaurant also does exceptionally well during the Board of Health Inspections so healthwise, they get 5 stars. Now onto the experience. The decor of this restaurant is outstanding. The noise level is amazingly quiet and the tables are spaced far apart. Decor wise, it's wonderful. This restaurant has a ton of staff but the experience unfortunately feels mechanical and rushed. We ordered the house salad and fried zucchini as appetizers and the boneless chicken in red wine and duck as entrees and apple tart and one cappucino and one coffee to accompany the dessert. The house salad was good and the zucchini were excellent. The duck was excellent. The chicken was ok. Both the duck and chicken were accompanied by lukewarm mashed potatoes and cool "zucchini browns" or perhaps "zucchini au gratin" that should have been hotter. Coffee and cappucino were "meh" but the apple tart was large and worth the $14.00. I was annoyed by the service however. The staff hovered over the tables and the split second that the dish was finished the staff arrived to remove the plates. Our waitress presented the check w/o ever asking if we wanted anything else. Sambuca might have been nice as an after dinner drink in a place like this but it was clear that the waitress' goal was to turn over the tables as soon as possible to maximize her gratuities. So, overall, really nice decor, upscale dishes that really should be more carefully constructed, but I don't know what to say of the service which can best be described as "professionally greedy"

Went for Restaurant Week Lunch with a cousin who was visiting for a conference in Times Square. Good place to take business people or visitors - good location near Columbus Circle, clean, and chic. Clean bathrooms. We went at 2pm, so it was very private indoor dining. (We were the only people there.) Hadn't done indoor dining since pre-pandemic. They also have outdoor tables. I think because it's behind Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center, it's off the beaten path from the more touristy blocks. Also they have discreet curtains, so you can't look in and may not be obvious from the sidewalk. Restaurant Week Menu was $29 for App + Entree + Dessert. We had between the 4 of us (separately Prix Fixe) Calamari, Minestrone, Mozzarella - topped with some antipasto. There was a lentil spread for the bread. Entrees: Sea Bream (fish) & Chicken. Dessert: Tiramisu - was one of the best and freshest in New York, which is saying a lot. It's New York. The food was good, but maybe on the bland side for spicy-lovers or on the no-sauce side. But I'm sure their regular menu has pastas and usual Italian fare. Good presentation. Nice staff. + lots of wine. Good overall experience.

We came here for restaurant week in the winter, and we enjoyed the $39 dinner special. I ordered the Calamaretti Dorati, which was really delicious! The calamari wasn't fried with breading all over it, but instead it had breadcrumbs sprinkled throughout. My friends ordered the Mozeralla Farcita del Giorno, and they were pleased with their appetizer too. For the entree, I had Scialatielli alla Siciliana - a homemade pasta dish with eggplant and fresh mozzarella cheese. Pasta was yummy, and I loved the eggplant throughout. Finally, I finished the three-course meal with the traditional Tiramisu. They served a big slice of Tiramisu, and it satisfied my chocolate and coffee craving! Overall, the three-course meal was great for $39, and I'd recommend making a visit!
Be the first to ReplyCame here for restaurant week lunch.
Overall was an above average meal, and I think the restaurant week value is pretty good. That said, the regular menu prices seem a bit steep and I'd downgrade it to only OK given that.Food 4/5: I had the soup of the day (broccoli with truffle oil) which was average and the eggplant pasta which was one of the better pastas I've had in NYC at this price point.Service and ambience 3/5: Nice place but nothing notable re ambience. The service was average for this price point too.

While there wasn't anything specifically *wrong* with our first visit, it didn't blow us away by any means and it's not a spot we're dying to go back to. We had high hopes for our Christmas eve dinner and we're able to get a reservation the day of. Definitely on the pricier side, but the food was good, the pasta tasted homemade, the pizza was well done, the restaurant seemed clean, and the service was efficient... so efficient there wasn't any greeting or small talk, the first thing our waitress said to us when we sat down is "what would you like to order?". Like I said, no specific complaints about the food, but if you'd like a little bit more of an experience and ambience - especially to celebrate a holiday or something special - this may not the best spot for you!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a lovely place.
This is a restaurant that cares. When a chef is a part owner usually it's a good sign. Fresh ingredients. Inspired, unique Italian cooking, and a friendly attentive staff. Last minute dinner and they were happy to accommodate. This place should definitely be more full. Maybe it's covid? They start you off with bread and Lentil olive oil ( a tribute to the chefs roots.) unique and tasty. We had the meatballs which melt in your mouth. They are covered by refreshing light tomato sauce. The house salad is bitter greens in the best possible way, with a light acidic dressing. The special lobster bisque was authentic and hearty. The bolognese was homemade and rich and the angolotti, with rich notes of butter and sage, did the trick. Wine selection is fantastic too! A must on the west side! Enjoy!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service and extremely accommodating staff.
The wine selection was phenomenal and the food to pair with it was even better. From the fresh mozzarella, to the flat breads and pasta you can not go wrong. The duck and seafood were also very delicious. The desserts finished strong with a delicious home made cannoli and a melt in your mouth Italian style cheesecake.
Be the first to ReplyWe just had such a wonderful dinner here.
The service is always great as well as the food which go hand in hand. The black squid ink pasta with clams is amazing as well as their tuna and beef carpaccio. My husband had the veal scallopine. When they were closed during the pandemic we were patronizing them to take out.Their food was just as delicious at home, because sometime once you take it out it's not the same.We are so glad this place survived.

Don't eat here-very simple- not only is the food overpriced but they are liars who don't appreciate loyal customers. They had us sitting at the bar, saying they had reservations-(the restaurant was half empty)-which for hours never came-classic case of chasing after what they don't have. We were regulars but no more-a little kindness would have gone a long way.....
Be the first to ReplyWe had reservations for 6:30 on Friday night.
As soon as we got our menus, our server asked us for our order. We asked to see the wine list. We ordered wine and were asked to order. We said we needed time and she kept returning. We ordered and our entrees came out in five minutes!Food was bland and we were out of there in under an hour. This is no way to be treated in an expensive restaurant.
