I recently had the pleasure of dining at Meadowsweet and I
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Meadowsweet and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The restaurant has a charming ambiance that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent, and the food was simply delicious. For my appetizer, I ordered the empanadas, and they were outstanding. The pastry was perfectly crisp and the filling was flavorful and well-seasoned. It was a great start to the meal, and it made me eager for the rest of the courses. For my main course, I went with the egg sandwich, and it was one of the best I've had in a long time. The eggs were cooked to perfection, and the bread was fresh and toasted just right. The combination of the ingredients was spot on, creating a mouth-watering sandwich that left me feeling satisfied and content.I also have to mention that my girlfriend, who is only 16, was thrilled with the non-alcoholic mocktail that they made her. She really enjoyed it, and it was great to see that the restaurant had options for those who didn't want to drink alcohol.Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Meadowsweet. The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and the ambiance was charming. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

This place is wonderful! Every single dish we ordered was 10/10. The service was also perfect and it's one of those restaurants you recommend to everyone visiting. Follow my instagram: @global_grubs for more food recommendations and photos!
Be the first to ReplyWe really enjoyed brunch at Meadowsweet.
The ambiance is nice, there's enough space between tables, and service was quick and attentive. We shared the donuts to start which were warm and messy, and went well with the caramel sauce. We got an avocado toast which was well sized for the price, and the goat cheese frittata which was delicious, and we also shared an order of fingerling potatoes which were great and topped with caramelized onions. All of the drinks we got - champagne, white wine, espresso martini, and a dry gin and Prosecco cocktail, were good. Would like to try this place for dinner as well - definitely recommend.

Favorite restaurant in Williamsburg! Great food, great drinks, brunch and dinner are both on point. Prices are reasonable although they have a well deserved Michelin star. Best burgers in Williamsburg by far. For dinner, duck breast is the way to go if it's on the menu. This place is a gem!
Be the first to ReplyI didn't know what to expect.
They have a Michelin star but the atmosphere is really casual - that set up cognitive dissonance in my mind. We made a reservation and they were ready for us when we arrived. They also let us know that they were very busy. I ordered a boozy mescal cocktail. It was a nice cocktail but ultimately not my taste. That was my fault. Olive bread to start was out of this world. I loved the crispy artichokes also. My main course was the scallops. My sons ordered the duck and the chicken roulade. All were very good. My sons also raved about the duck hearts on the menu but admittedly, I couldn't try one.For dessert, we tried everything. Panne cotta was simply the best. But everything paled in comparison to the service. Meadowsweet gets service right. Knowledgable, kind, and friendly service with pragmatic recommendations. I highly support this place.

My favorite restaurant in NYC (and if you know NYC, you know that it's one of the greatest cities for food in the world). This restaurant is one of those few places where I can confidently say that every single plate wow'd me. Every single bite, flavor, consistency and pairing is so well thought out and executed. My favorite plate of all time will be the cavatelli duck ragu with fresh ricotta. I would visit NY just for this plate. Not only is the food insane, but the service is also super attentive and even gave us two free rosé glasses because we were close to the door and felt the cold from outside (February in NY). All in all, 10/5 stars. Don't even doubt coming to this restaurant. Give them the Michelin star back!
Be the first to ReplyI love the bread and the appetizers that we ordered.
Unfortunately the mains we had were too salty. That was disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant in a cool part of Williamsburg.
Not far from the iconic Weylin, this chic yet approachable eatery has outstanding service and a unique menu. While it is still dry January, a peak the cocktails and the wine list already is reason enough to come back! My companion and I were impressed by the appetizer list, but went with mains as they looked incredible. I went with the Scottish salmon and my companion went with the roasted duck. The Scottish salon, done medium rare, was melt in your mouth delicious and perfectly crusted with flavor and texture. Absolutely stunning piece of fish atop a leek base. The roasted duck was going to be other option and it truly was an artfully done duck breast. Perfectly cooked medium rare atop a delectable mole sauce. Simply yum! I definitely want to return for some of those cocktails and for brunch!
Be the first to ReplyThe food is excellent.
The outdoor dining setup has 3 separated tables with an overhead heater, but the shed is open on one side, so not really appropriate for a cold winter day unless you bring a ton of clothing.

The presentation and service were both incredible as well. We will definitely be back.

A consistent meal with a well thought-out menu and friendly service.Quality: It is a high quality meal with a lot of good pieces, but one that lacks a true memorable item. The Olive Oil Rolls, Salmon Tartare, and Crispy Baby Artichokes are all worthy appetizers, but none would fall into must order for me. The Burrata & Delicata Squash is a fantastic melding of flavors, and should be prioritized. The Crisped Pork Belly Ham was the most disappointing item, the one I would skip in a return visit. The Tajarin & Truffle was good as was the Spiced Duck Breast, solid entree picks.Quantity: Not quite small plates, but the menu is primarily items to share.Value: $10 for Olive Oil Rolls. $18 for Salmon Tartare. $19 for Crispy Baby Artichokes. $18 for Burrata & Delicata Squash. $22 for the Crisped Pork Belly Ham. $26 for the Tajarin & Truffle. $38 for the Spiced Duck Breast.Ambiance: Meadowsweet is an upscale restaurant located in Williamsburg. It is in a little cove of highly regarded spots. They have a significant outdoor patio, then a surprisingly large indoor area. It is a narrow space with a bar towards the front. Tables are a bit tight, but the staff gracefully danced around them.Crowd: Reservations are needed, but can be booked a few nights in advance.Service: Friendly and accommodating staff.Parking: Relatively simple street parking nearby.

The ambiance at Meadowsweet is the perfect combination of rustic without feeling pretentious. I can tell the wait staff takes great pride in their work and the place was packed, which is always a good sign of a well-run establishment with recurring customers. The first dishes my group ordered were the Crispy Baby Artichokes and the Spanish Octopus and Chorizo. The artichokes are a must-have - a perfect combination of acid from the lemon and umami from the parmesan. This dish was a party in my mouth texturally and would recommend anyone order it. The octopus was outstanding - bright from the peppers and tasted rich without weighing you down. These were my two favorite dishes of the evening and would highly recommend both. For our main course, we ordered the Tajarin & Truffle pasta and the Braised Duck Ragu Pappardelle. The Tajarin & Truffles was very light and fragrant but the pasta was in my opinion, slightly over, and didn't have that chew we all crave when eating fresh pasta. The duck ragu was decadent in all the right ways - the pasta was coated evenly and the richness of the duck paired nicely with the pappardelle. Overall, my group had a wonderful experience, and am looking forward to going back and trying more of their items.
Be the first to ReplyFirst of all, food is dope.
Legitimately spot on. What keeps it from five stars were two things -- (1) It gets LOUD in here y'all. We had an early reservation on a weeknight so it was borderline empty when we got there, but filled up fast and got hard to hear. Not crazy, but noticeable. (2) The A/C was broken when we were there and it was the hottest fucking place I've ever been. Definitely felt for the staff, but they didn't really do anything to accommodate? No water, no fans, no offers to move outside or anything, but it was easily 100+ degrees in there by the time we left, and other patrons were turning around at the entrance because it was so hot. A one off to be sure (at least I hope so), but I was surprised they didn't make any effort at all to accommodate diners who were already there.

It's been a minute since I've eaten here and the cocktails are still incredible (got the tequila drink, but switched it to mezcal) and the bread is as good as I remember. We got the beets and goat cheese app (incredible), the octopus (also incredible) and then tajarin (to-die-for good) as apps. My main was the waygu beef and it was so so so salty -- it was cooked to the right temp, but all I could taste was the salt crust. The desserts are still as good too -- I once again ordered all three and if I had to choose one? The crumble was the star of the desserts list. Excellent service and didn't notice any issues with the sound (like I did last time, around, when I thought it was too noisy).

1. Great food. Love it. All was very tasty2. Noise level is extremely high. Not a Michelin star noise level. Could not talk. Was very unpleasant.3. Service sucked. a) Waitress did not hear "WHISKY SOUR" and got whiskey on the rocks. b) Waitress was asking me to pass out the clean plates to people she could not reach. Small tables! Lazy to go around and do it herself!? Or just does not care. Shame. Not a Michelin star noise service.

We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's 30th birthday! We got seated right away and they greeted us each with a glass of champagne which was so nice! Our server was awesome, attentive and personable. The food here is amazing! We started with the sourdough boule, the shishito peppers and the burrata which has fresh peaches- all delicious. Then we split the cauliflower main and it was the star of the show- perfectly cooked and seasoned so well. We also had cocktails which were refreshing and delicious. Definitely will be back!

What We Had: Cocktails = Spring Forward, Friend of the Devil, Letters from Paris Starters = Sourdough, Crispy Baby Artichokes, Braised Waygu Beef Empanadas, Spanish Octopus, Tajarin & Truffles, Cavatelli & Braised Lamb RaguMains = American Waygu Bavette, Pan Roasted Chicken, Scottish Salmon MainDessert = Brown Butter Almond CakeWould I go back?: Definitely will be back soonStory: Wow! Where to start in all the best ways. Great recommendations on drinks by the staff. If you are looking for a twist on a Spicy Margarita - try the Friend of the Devil. Was really impressed by how beautifully balanced all the cocktails were. All the starters were delicious but the highlights for me were the Cavatelli & Braised Lamb Ragu and Braised Waygu Beef Empanadas. Main wise - I usually don't order chicken at restaurants but I was in a poultry mood and this chicken does not disappoint, the skin is perfectly crispy and savory and the meat itself cooked to perfection. Dessert was a nice balance of savory with a citrus sweetness.

Visited meadowsweet again but this time had a bit of an underwhelming experience. We went on a Wednesday night for an early dinner. When we visited on a weekend before we had such an amazing experience and the best salmon. This time around we had the artichoke, a truffle pasta and my boyfriend had the steak. The food was decently sized but the taste wasn't that great. It felt under-seasoned. We did have a nice Sancerre-esque wine though. Would recommend visiting on a busier/weekend night as the meal choices are better. They change the menu almost every other day.

Was a great meal and great service. Meal was very filling. Would recommend.
Be the first to ReplyFine dining in Williamsburg is always a special experience
Fine dining in Williamsburg is always a special experience to be had. With the majority of michelin star restaurants being located in the city, it sometimes almost seems impossible to find one on this side of the east river that has open reservations. However, I was able to get a table at this restaurant a week in advance and I'm happy I did because mostly everything about my experience here was above par! We came on a weekday at 7:30 in the evening. The restaurant was about 3/4 full so I'd recommend making a reservation but it's possible they may reserve space for walk-in's or it just wasn't a full house. The space gives off warm new-age American vibes while also seeming rustic with it's mosaic-like floor. We started off with the spanish octopus and chorizo to share. It comes with fingerling potatoes which you use to scoop up the goodness that is this dish. Not too heavy, but just the perfect amount of savoriness to get you ready for your main course. I ended up choosing the restaurants namesake burger (medium-rare). The best part of this burger was the onion-bacon jam which put it comfortably in the group of best burgers I've had here in Brooklyn. The service here was also spot on with our waitress being attentive of any allergy concerns and coming to check on us frequently throughout our time dining here. This is undoubtedly a more special dining experience. I'd come here again with a small group of friends or for a romantic evening.

I thought about updating my review but thought I'd write a new one. This is, without a doubt, the finest and most authentic restaurant in Williamsburg. Michelin Star without the unapproachability of most Michelin establishments. The service is amazing. The seasonal menu is so amazing I can barely decide on a recommendation. The chicken, for instance, is my go to! Bite through, crispy skin. Sometimes a miso glaze. Sometimes German style. Outrageous. My wife orders the duck or salmon. Note: I cry and seethe when she peels the the skin of the duck. It's a sin against god and man to skin a bird. Moving on. As I mentioned previously, she holds that the salmon is better than Le Bernardin. Amazing compliment as LB is considered by some to be the finest seafood resto in the world. Finally, the drink selection is awesome. From cheaper cans to a lovely Whistlepig - my guilty pleasure - Meadowsweet has it all. Cheers! Love you!

As I eat the dishes and write, I am unimpressed by the appetizers. The Artichoke was balanced and refreshing; however, it was very one dimensional and did not have enough artichoke, which was supposed to be the star ingredient. Moreover, the Spanish Octopus with Chorizo was a little disappointing. The octopus was good but the chorizo was a little off putting since it was quite "hard". Overall, the octopus was good but not stellar. For reference, the Polipo at Marea is in a completely different league compared to the one served here. Now to the main course, which was Black Sea Bass and Duck. To start on a good note, the Duck was perfectly cooked and was overall great. On the other hand, the Black Sea Bass was good and had good flavors, but nothing thats makes it stand out. I had a very similar dish a couple of days ago and the Black Sea Bass was not as delicious at the other place. Lastly, towards the end I felt kind of done with this place because it did not meet my expectations; however, when I was handed the dessert menu, I was intrigued by the options. Lets just say I was very disappointed. All in all, to answer everyone's question, does this live up to it's Michelin Star and would I come back? Answer is no, I have dined at other restaurants without any stars or recommendations that are better. Do not get me wrong this place is solid, if you want some place to try, by all means give this place a shot and you will be satisfied. However, for me, it just didnt blow me away. I just dont find anything that makes me particularly want to come back.

A friend and I easily made a reservation for a weeknight, and tried:+ Summer's end cocktail+ Olive oil rolls+ Crispy baby artichoke+ Burrata and delicata squash+ Spiced duck breast + American wagyu bavette + Blueberry crumble+ Brown butter almond cake My favorite dishes were the steak and the blueberry crumble. Service was excellent.

The food and ambiance here is great! The staff is super welcoming and friendly. We had a great time here, cocktails were delicious. Look at those giant olives, they did it right --they know what they are doing! The food is spectacular. Tuna tar tar tasted light, fresh and packed with flavors. Impressed by the overall presentation. The steak was buttery and every bite felt like it should have lasted longer because it was that GOOD! The portion, mash, and plating was perfect. We had a great time, also loved the music playing the background. Felt like as soon as it got late in the evening the music matched the vibes and end of the night. We'll be back for sure!
