I came at 4:30 on a Wednesday and luckily there wasn't a line (only 1 party of 4 ahead of us). I think on a non-weekend/Friday, you could make do with arriving 10-15 minutes ahead and still be able to grab a seat when the restaurant opens. In fact, I believe there were still a few remaining open spots after everyone in line prior to the restaurant opening sat down.Truthfully I think there are other ramen spots in SF that are better than Mensho. Personally, the broth is just too rich and thick for my liking. My sister and I shared the Tori Paitan ramen and the Tsukemen. Both tasted pretty similar/the same, so if you want some variation and are sharing, I wouldn't recommend getting these two together since they are both chicken broth. The Tsukemen broth is a tad thicker, I presume because it has to be to coat the noodles well, but as I mentioned, both the ramens just didn't hit the way I wanted them to and was too oily/thick. Also, even though the Tsukemen photo has an egg in it, it doesn't come with one :( Probably won't be coming back given you have to either wait or come before opening to grab a spot and I personally don't think it's worth the long line/wait.
