Third time trying this rooftop restaurant on top of
Third time trying this rooftop restaurant on top of Glenmark hotel. While the hotel itself has offered exquisite service time and time again, the rooftop restaurant has been a disappointment repeatedly. Two close friends and I had dinner there one of the evenings this week. First of all, gratuity is not a tax. It's supposed to be at the guest's discretion based on their experience: food, service etc.Second, if you are slapping an 18% gratuity, then at least give great service and great food (not even average). For example our beat salad was delivered when we almost finished our entrees. And that's after we reminded the waiter who would disappear for a significant amount of time.My water glass was left empty in front of me. Not once did anyone bothered to be attentive and offer to bring water.Even drinks we ordered were delivered 20 minutes later. Mind you, it was a cold evening and we were maybe one of the 5 or 6 tables in the entire place. As for the Mediterranean Seabass: swimming in spicy red sauce. No real chef would destroy the taste of such delicate and mild fish with such amount of overpowering sauce. One of us couldn't take more than 3 bites without taking a gulp of water to quench the heat. Unless the fish isn't that fresh, and you'd want to cover up the taste. So no matter how you cut it, it's a miserable reason. And they charge 18% gratuity! That's it for me. 3 times is a good number of times to give a place a chance.

We came to this restaurant for valentines we reserved our table two weeks in advance after reviewing the menus options and seating ... to include looking into the extended forecast. So here's how it went. The reservation site asked some choice requests such as inside or out... we chose inside. Next question set menus or regular.. we chose regular! So to our surprise we were seated outside and only offered the set menu. Of which little was what we would have ever ordered! Given that it's Valentine's leaving to go somewhere else was not an option because restaurants are made weeks in advance. I will start with the fact our server (Garo) was very apologetic and attentive. The starters were selected for us, and were decent probably won't order ever again, the steak was cooked good and a little salt and pepper did just the trick. Ultimately our waiter (Garo) saved the evening! But hard to swallow spending 95 per person when you had planned on ordering different foods in a different environment, based on the provided information! I started out with a two star, I would have given a 4 had the expectations had not been soooo misrepresented in the reservation process.

A friend and I went to MYA this evening to have a drink and appetizer. I live in the neighborhood and had been wanting to check it out. The ambiance and view was lovely. Our glass of wine and appetizer (flatbread) was yummy. Big surprise was the detail on the bill...which we didn't notice until after we left (lesson learned). Our party of two, who stayed for just over an hour was charged an 18% service fee AND a 3% "kitchen appreciation fee". Total BS. Prior to seeing the detail we had already tipped 18-20%. I can understand a service fee included for a larger party, but really? They should be upfront with their policy. Will NOT be returning...greedy, ridiculous practice.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible service and I was served rotten fish.
It was so bad my friends and I had to leave - the food untouched - we paid and left without eating more than a bite but my entire party agreed it was inedible - I was promised a refund and was charged full price
Be the first to ReplyWe had the worst service here for NYE.
Is starts with bus boy pretending to be our server and getting our drinks and then an hour later still no drinks. And it was already 10 pm and still no food or drinks. Had to wait go and wave to another server and finally found a true server. Don't know if we will come back here for another event because of the service. Trust.

I recently visited the Mya bar at the rooftop and was extremely disappointed with the cocktails. They were poorly made and lacked any real flavor. I do not recommend this bar for anyone looking for a good cocktail. Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere. We ordered smokin' berries, pomegranate mojito and apricot mountain.

My family and I always stay at the Glenmark when we visit Los Angeles and we decided to book the Mya rooftop restaurant for my niece's engagement party. I got in touch with Tatevik (who is the manager) and she really helped me put this celebration together better than a planner could in such a short amount of time! She helped set up the table for me with flower arrangements that were delivered to her and really was so attentive throughout the entire evening. My family was extremely happy with the service and the exceptional food that Tatevik had suggested for us all. If you are looking for a place to celebrate or just to have a fun night out with friends, I highly recommend the Mya!!!

In the past year this place quickly became my go to spot to enjoy some late evening bites, cocktails and hookah:)

Me and my friend stopped by for a drink here to celebrate her birthday. It was a last minute decision and we weren't even sure they would be able to accommodate us. But everyone from hostess to waiters were extremely nice. We got amazing drinks, food and very attentive service! Special thanks to the manager Gaspar who went above and beyond to make sure we were having the best time!
Be the first to ReplyOctober 2022 - Reservation for 4 around 5pm on a Friday.
Did dine in LA amd was celebrating a birthday.Food/Pricing - Overall the food was delicious! Personally I didn't expect the steak to be precut and with so much sauce. The tasye was fine but quality could be better. I understand that establishments are trying to catch up monetarily due to the pandemic but I was bothered by the 3% appreciation fee on top of the dine in LA automatic 18% gratuity. We honestly would've given more tip but that extra 3% didn't sit well with us.Service/Ambiance - Our server was absolutely the greatest! He was very attentive and on top of our requests. He offered to turn on the heat lamps when he noticed we were chilly, gave us great recommendations on food since it was out first time there, and tried his best to move the umbrella when the sun was right on our faces. Absolutely the best server!Parking - Street parking is recommended. They have parking there but as far as I saw, it was only valet.
Be the first to ReplyThey charge 3% for "Kitchen staff appreciation" on the bill.
Minimum bill to sit on the sofa is $300.I'll not be returning.

The best place to go to have an amazing time! Their food is delicious, with amazing views from the rooftop and great atmosphere. Love going to Mya and I always have an amazing time! Highly recommend

I have been to MYA rooftop numerous times and I can easily say I have recommended my entire group of friends and endless family members and they have all loved their experience too. The ease of making reservations on OpenTable is super convenient, the sushi is one of the best I've ever had and drinks are exceptional. Nicolas and Victoria are among my favorite servers, very attentive, kind and speedy. My favorite things on the menu are the beet salad, filet mignon (amazing) and the sliders (to die for.) Compliments to the chef, love the menu and the different selection here. Not to mention the views, this is a great place to hang out with friends, go on a date night and even throw a birthday party or special event. I recently just attended brunch on Sunday's which is new and I can't say it was anything short of amazing. I love this place and the people. Thank you guys as always for such an amazing and unforgettable experience!

Be the first to ReplyI've had a great experience at the rooftop at Glenmark,
I've had a great experience at the rooftop at Glenmark, mainly made possible due to the amazing staff. I've had more than a few encounters with the bartenders & they've always been super sweet, honest, and professional. We've laughed a lot over the past 9 days and it's so refreshing to interact with people who genuinely enjoy what they do & don't complain or create drama. I love the energy of the bartenders & the complexities of their personalities. They make the best drinks and always have positive attitudes even when they get busy. A special acknowledgement to Matt, Ivan, and Cristian, who I've gotten to know from day 1 and they just know what I like and how I like it. Additionally, I'd like to acknowledge Nicole, for being friendly and a breath of fresh air; Carlos for being sweet and attentive and he also created the the Delly Hibiscus!! Be sure to ask for that when he is working, you won't be disappointed. Lastly, I'd like to acknowledge the manager Gaspar who goes above and beyond to make sure the customers are not only comfortable, but satisfied. I can't wait to come back to this amazing rooftop bar/restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance is perfect.
The waiters are all super nice and courteous but you might need to ask for utensils, sides, etc multiple times. This can be maybe because they're still training or place is still new. But the food (especially sushi) was AMAZINGGG!!!!! The desserts were delicious too. Will be back for sure!
Be the first to ReplyWe went to this place to celebrate Valentine's Day
We went to this place to celebrate Valentine's Day yesterday. The hostess was very nice, but the service went downhill after that. The waiter (older gentleman) didn't even say Happy Valentine's Day, didn't smile at all, and didn't have much of a personality. He also didn't give us much of a chance to look at the menu before wanting us to order; i felt rushed. When i ordered a club soda with lime from him, the food runner, a woman with glasses, came by with an entire lime and asked "Do you want me to cut this?" Lol. Maybe she's never heard of people wanting limes with drinks. Also 99% of the wait staff didn't wear masks, which is unacceptable. Some of the food was tasty and others were just okay, but they didn't hit it out of the park. The portions were small that we still felt hungry after finishing the prefixed 5 course meal. Price was pretty high, but that's to be expected anywhere, especially with rooftop dining on Valentine's Day. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but definitely did not meet expectations. We will not be returning, unfortunately. Too bad because we were hoping this could be our new spot since we enjoy fine dining.
Be the first to ReplyThe 2 stars is strictly for the service and view.
Our server(s) were very helpful, attentive and mostly always visible. Thanks to them for that!Now... on to everything else. The rooftop space itself is lovely. It has so much potential. However, the LARGE smoking area enclosed by clear plastic tarp makes this place basically a hotbox with a nice view. Choking hookah and cigar smoke fill the air that is unable to escape because literally all corners of the overhead and side coverings are sealed. My eyes started to water after a little while and I really wanted to figure out a way to get my head in an open air space so I could breathe! The non-smoking area is a collection of mostly 4 seater tables, in a small corner of the rooftop. I'd like the option of a sofa too, but I guess my not being a smoker punishes me from that? Add that to, the non-smoking area is enclosed under the same plastic as the smoking area, literally what's the point? The prices are steep. $28 for ceviche and $17 for a "signature" cocktail (think of a mojito with too much lime juice). $14 for 5 chicken wings... you get the point. Much of what we actually wanted to order was unavailable. While the server was very apologetic for this, it was Super Bowl... I'd think they'd have everything stocked since they were actually advertising a Super Bowl package on a reservations site. The restroom is weird. Either go down a flight of stairs or take an elevator down one floor. My husband and I love rooftop spaces. We were hopeful we could add this one to our rotation. But it fell way short. It's very doubtful we'll return.

The owner must be a crook to think that people are idiots and won't notice how he is ripping them off.Kitchen Appreciration Fee? What is that? Is it even legal?Lounge Area Service Charge? Because I wanted to sit on your lousy sofas instead of your cheap folding tables? And $45 for a Hookah? On a slow Monday evening? What a load of crap. Never again!

It took nearly 30 min for our appetizer to come & for server to take our order. Food came out fairly quickly & was bland, no flavor & weird preparation! The only thing edible on the menu we had was the miso black cod in lettuce cups. The truffle fries had standard frozen fries with chunks of truffles, no oil. The tuna stack was like tuna salad between saltine crackers, & the grilled sea bass was mushy with no flavor! For the cost, I expect a better chef that has tastebuds! The 360 deg views is amazing!

Went to the rooftop at Glenmark on New Year's Eve with another couple. This place is very clean and well managed. We had a great time. Food quality is very good and drinks are delicious. Even though they were short staffed on New Years, Jessie the rooftop manager took really good care of us. He is very professional and is on top of everything. Would definitely go back and I highly recommend this place.

Be the first to ReplyCame here with my friends.
We had to ask twice for water, utensils, and plates. Ordered cocktails but they never came. Waiter kept telling us that the bar was backed up. We finished our food and still the drinks weren't ready. We cancelled the drink orders and asked for the check. Waiter brought the cocktails with the check... We didn't want to pay for them. He should've offered them on the house. Food is mediocre and overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyIt wasn't good.
The menu was changed from what we saw online and it was basically sushi or steak. Ordered the filet mignon and it didn't say which sides we asked what it came with. "Vegetables" they told us. I have no idea what the assortment of vegetables were but most were raw, weird textures, not good, and unidentifiable. Then there were plenty of these mini mushrooms in big clumps that were slimy and gross. Wtf? My meat was raw, and I can do medium rare, this was raw. Way overpriced, bad menu, bad food, and rude hostess in the front. Also want to know why they served me this giant carrot that was still crunchy. Who does that.
