Hand down the best kabobs in the city! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the beef just melted in your mouth. I also had a nice conversation with Armen and his mom while waiting for my food. Such beautiful people making remarkable food, it's no wonder this small little family business tucked away in a Glendale neighborhood made it onto the Michelin Guide.

ohhhhh my goddd im literally voice texting this sitting in my car outside of the restaurant itself and I just needed to write this real quick that food was so insanely good I live in the bay area and I would drive six hours every day to get this food if I could. I got the combo plate, and then the eggplant caviar and the beef plate and the pear soda that was so good oh my god. all of them were amazing. the servings were so large I was thrown off initially by how expensive the plates were but the servings were large could easily feed two to three people per serving and the guy who was there was very nice. He was telling us about a YouTuber and he was being really funny and awesome and nice and you all should come check this place out it's so good. family small business, hole in the wall, family ran. although if you're going to eat here be prepared to bring some napkins cause I don't think there's any indoor or outdoor dining at the moment (? idk tho i think maybe we just came on a rainy day) so you might have to eat in your car which is a part of the experience it makes the food taste better, but you are going to want to clean up your hands after but yeah so good im gonna come back down 6 hours from the bay literally just for this and it's my first time eating armenian food too it was an amazing introduction

I can't remember the last time we went somewhere or did take out and I can honestly say it was 10/10 but mini kabob exceeded all expectations and then some. What insane flavor in everything! My boyfriend was in Glendale and we've been meaning to try this place so it was the perfect excuse to grab food from here. He is also 50% Armenian so even more of an excuse to eat from and support a local Armenian owned restaurant. Armen and his parents run this place and they do an excellent job. It's a tiny place that does takeout only but just wow. It's not cheap but it's also not expensive for the portions and quality of food. All I can say is mini kabob is an absolute must and well worth traveling to Glendale for. I'm so glad we finally tried it and already looking forward to my next time here & to try something different. 10/10 across the board.

There is a green parking zone limited to 30 minute street parking right in front of Mini Kabob. Parking is at a premium. As of March 2023 no indoor dining, just takeout. There is a small picnic table in front comfortably seating 4 adults for communal dining. The young chef is a grill meister who knows how long to cook the various meats. He is informative, friendly, generous, passionate about the quality of his finished product. I wanted a combo that would have meats from 3 different animals which was not on their standard menu so I conferred w/ the chef. Special Order Combo Plate: 1) Chicken Lule Kabob is rough minced chicken, onions, black pepper, salt probably left over night to self marinate. Moist, soft yet firm. 2) Pork tenderloin is a thick, mini steak not over cooked to the poInt the meat is dry and hard, but moist, meaty, bit fatty with light porkiness. My guess is that it is brined to retain the moistness. 3) Beef Lule Kabob: Reminds me of Iranian Koobideh. Similar prep to the Chicken Lule. I like the beef better since red meat has a more pronounced blood minerality for more gaminess. Seems cooked over an open fire on skewers. Includes fire-roasted, green jalapeño and tomato, scattering of parsley, raw onions which I chopped them all up to make an "Armenian" version of Pico de Gallo which worked well as a fresh, piquant vegetal counterpoint to all the meat. Small cup of highly emulsified as mentioned by the chef, creamy, pungent, funky, powerful Garlic sauce to place on needed meats or whateverCreamy Hummus made from thick, finely puréed chick peas including a good slug of nutty Tahini/sesame seed paste, maybe even touch of garlic, lemon juice. Sprinkled with finely ground red paprika powder. Came with very thin, stretchy Lavash/flat bread to scoop up the Hummus. Basmati rice is al dente, pleasantly dry & friable. Might be boiled in a bit of broth for rounded flavour. The coup de grace was a huge amount of good quality melted butter that infused the rice with buttered pop corn scent like at a movie theatre. Wonder if the chef got that idea from eating the infamous mashed potatoes at Jöel Robuchon? The communal dining under a pleasant blue sky afternoon made for good conversations with my fellow diners who all had the friendly attitude of "Hail fellow, well met." Ice cold Tatni sparkling water from Armenia which was highly carbonated for good acidity was excellent at refreshing the palate as recommended by the savvy chef. 4+ stars
Be the first to ReplyBeen back a couple more times and never disappoints.
Love the regular combo and chicken and beef combo which is plenty for us two plus leftovers. Tried their eggplant caviar today which is smoky and flavorful. I wanted to try their house potatoes but it was all out by 130pm. Highly recommend calling in. It was about an hour wait for pickup on a Sunday afternoon. They have one table outside their small ordering window where we were able to sit down and eat. Love that it's a full in family business. When you arrive you can catch Armen taking phone orders while simultaneously cooking up a storm in their small kitchen. Can't wait to come back!
Be the first to ReplyDef worth the hype.
The family that runs this place were so nice. Called in my order and picked it up. I believe they're cash only and there's a little wait because they're that popular! It's totally worth the wait though ! Will be back !

ORDER AHEAD to avoid the long wait!!! You can order via phone or online (i recommend using their online website). I have been wanting to try mini kabob for years. I made a 30 min drive on a Saturday for lunch. I called at 12 pm, they open at 11 am, and asked if it was busy and if i should order ahead. I was told the wait for 1 hour, i was instantly shocked. I didnt think it would be THAT busy. I ordered through the phone and waited an hour to pick up my food. I ordered the chicken thigh kabob $22 and beef lule (ground beef kabob) combos $24. There is a table outside with some seating. The parking is street only and very limited. After a little over an hour, our food was ready. It was fresh and pipping hot. The guy who runs it is a nice guy, very friendly and likes to speak with his customers. He gave us some garlic spread for free, which was divine! The combos came with fresh hummus, tons of lavash bread, thinly sliced white onions and 1 roasted tomato and 1 roasted jalepeno with rice and our proteins. I was surprised the chicken thighs didnt come with more meat. The beef combo had more meat, which i liked. I did think the pricing was high. However, at first bite i knew this was superior. The thigh meat was so juicy and flavorful. Everything together just paired so well. I couldnt get enough of the taste. Absolutely give it a try if you havent!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the wait for pickup is already over an hour. Definitely recommend calling your order in in advance. The shop is really small with no private parking and takeout only. This place is also cash only as well. With all that being said, I still gave this place 5 stars because the owner is super nice and the food is just so damn good. I got the chicken thigh plate and the beef plate and they were both super juicy and flavorful. No wonder the wait is so long. The garlic sauce that he gave us was super good and is a great combo with the chicken. Come support this small business when you're in the area or craving some Mediterranean food. Just make sure to phone in your order before hand.

Glendales finest! For Muslims: it's not halal but the veggie options are amazing! The falafels are massive and worth the wait (expect to wait for your order so order ahead) also as of 2023 there is no setting. Grab and go only.

I heard about this place through Mark Weins Videos that I watched leisurely. I said one day if I went to LA I would try it. I did and it did not disappoint. I had their Luleh kebab which was mixed in with some pork fat, and I'm telling you this is the best kebab I've ever had in my life. After meeting this beautiful dish, I strive to find something in other states and nothing rivals this luleh kebab. Armen is also extremely nice and makes sure his customers are happy.
Be the first to ReplyMini Kabob is a family business in Glendale, serving up
Mini Kabob is a family business in Glendale, serving up some of the best Armenian food around. They are experts at the grill, so definitely go for one of their kabob plates with chicken, beef, and pork. If you can't decide, mix it up with a combo.Chicken Cutlet: This is a lule, which is a type of kabob composed of minced chicken meat, onions, and herbs shaped into an oblong. This version of lule is then seared in a pan until golden. The cutlets are juicy, delicate, and flavorful from the meat and spices. There is a light crust that begs to be slathered in garlic butter. The charred tomato, charred pepper, and raw onions add a fresh contrast. The kabobs are on top of a bed of fluffy butter-slicked rice. Use the crepe-thin lavash to scoop up all the morsels and hummus.Parking: There's some street parking as the spot is nestled among houses. There's a spot in front reserved for pick-ups.Ordering: Phone your order in before you pick up the food to save time. You'll get an accurate time of when the food will be ready.Dining Area: They are still only doing takeout. The dining area, when open, only has a table or two.

This is the hands down the best meal you can get in LA! Armen and his family run this little hole in the wall to a T. I recommend them to anyone. It's just damn amazing
Be the first to ReplyThis is the best place to have kabob in all of Los Angeles
This is the best place to have kabob in all of Los Angeles and NOTHING can change my mind. The marinate that they use is something I've never tasted before. The flavor is so addicting and it's a great place to eat lunch as it's so close to everything
Be the first to ReplyWe tried Mimi Kabob on our 2nd visit to Glendale.
This is a (pick up, to go, carry out) place with no seating. The kabobs where good quality and cooked right. The chicken kabob and beef lule however lacked a wow factor in flavor. All four of my party agreed. The falafel was one of the best I've tasted and the chicken thigh was good. We had Chicken. To be fair, we had kabobs at another place the week before, and Mini Kabob was better quality for the same price or less. The was amazing, the hummus was great and the service was outstanding. Whoever runs this place is a dedicated business owner who knows how to treat his customers right. I would recommend this place and give it a shot as it has tremendous reviews. Cash only.
Be the first to ReplyHad food from this little gemstone hidden in Glendale.
The food brings back memories of when I'd go over to my Armenian friends house over the summer and the family would make kabob on the grill in the backyard. The rice is fluffy and buttery. The Luke kabob was delicious with lots of flavor. I'd come back here and recommend this place to a friend.

We heard of mini kebab sometime last year and we just got around to trying it today and I gotta say, the hype around this place is legit. It's the definition of a mom & pop (and son) hole in the wall, and the food tastes like it was made with love. They have the best chicken luleh that I've ever had--super moist and flavorful, and their rice was perfectly cooked and tasted light, fluffy, and mildly buttery. Whenever we get kebabs, I usually avoid getting beef as it's often overcooked and dried out, but I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly and their marinade is amazing. On top of the great food, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely eat here again and I'm looking forward to trying the whole menu.

Best Kabobs ever! Family owned, friendliest people I have ever encountered. They remember you by first name basis when you've ordered a few times. Food is out of this world!!!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and wonderful customer service.
Definitely understand what all of the hype is about. Glad this nice family business is doing so well.
Be the first to ReplyTheir food is absolute heaven.
It's perfect. I can't get good kebabs like this anywhere in Sunland-Tujunga even though we have multiple restaurants. I don't know what this place does to make all of their meat so delicious and tender. The rice is buttery and fantastic. The hummus is YUMMUS. Also the egg plant appetizer is the best I've ever had.The staff is kind and friendly. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious! The owner is so kind and the food is delicious.
