Arrogant and overpriced
Yes, this restaurant was featured as part of a Netflix series, but we feel that on the back of that feature in Feed Phil the restaurant has got arrogant (unlike others that we visited and that were featured in the same series). We were there with our family and ordered quite a few items. Be careful, they are minuscule. The baba ganoush for the equivalent of 8 US dollars is barely three tablespoons full, the same goes for the muhammara (roasted pepper and walnut dish at 6 US$). But worst of all is the bored attitude of the waiting staff and the attitude of the chef (owner?). Dishes don't arrive at the same time (the shakshuka came 20 minutes after everything else and only after asking). When the bill came it turned out they had taken the wrong order and instead of labneh sent us labneh with beetroot (which is twice the price). When we pointed this out to the chef he retorted "can you not see what you have eaten" (no we couldn't as we are travelling in another country and are not familiar with the exact look of each dish). There was no apology or "let's get this fixed". Instead we were treated as if we should be grateful to eat in this establishment. So in summary: arrogant, overpriced and miniscule portions.
Be the first to ReplyDon't sit outside Mishiguene!
I made the reservation online, based on a recommendation from friends and because it was mentioned in the Michelin guide. I was accompanied by my wife and 2 daughters. When setting the date, weeks ago, there were no specifications regarding the choice of tables inside or outside the restaurant. Recently, I received a reservation confirmation via WhatsApp containing the information that we would have a guaranteed meal from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. I don't know if it's my ignorance, but I've NEVER seen a restaurant set a departure time. Anyway…. Let's describe the experience. Arriving at the restaurant, we were informed that the reservation would be in the outside area and not inside (in the inside of Mishiguene, we noticed that it was very pleasant, with the air conditioning working satisfactorily). We asked if the maître d' could allocate us inside, but the answer was: your reservation is for the outside (remember, there is no way to pre-define where to sit when trying to book online). The night was extremely hot (more than 30°C). Our table is on a deck, unstable and noisy. Every time a waiter arrived at our table, plates and glasses shook. It also shook at the end when a garbage truck stopped next to us and stayed parked for almost 5 minutes! The waiters, although friendly and attentive, were poorly proportioned. So, it took a long time. They had a good wine list! I chose a beautiful rose with a blend of grapes. It helped to minimize the exhaustion of the heat. The food, the highlight, was DELICIOUS!!! It was one of the best pastramis I've eaten in my life! My wife and daughters also loved what they ordered. However, as it was so hot outside the restaurant, we were unable to eat everything we ordered. The price, like most of what we ate in Buenos Aires, was not cheap. The restaurant only didn't win as very good or excellent due to the location in which we sat and the terrible experience of being allocated outside the air conditioning and in an extremely hot, noisy, uncomfortable and unpleasant space! I would go back, as long as I sat inside the restaurant, because the Pastrami is unforgettable! I hope they review the flaws!

Really spectacular. The The food was delicious, unique flavors… and the service was great… I went to dinner for my birthday and had a great time.
Be the first to ReplyI make sure to eat here every time i'm in Buenos Aires
A must-go! Every time I travel to Buenos Aires I make sure to have a reservation in Mishiguene. Amazing Jewish cuisine with a modern reading. All the food is really tasty and you can either order it a la carte or have the tasting menu. If it's your first time go for the tasting menu!!
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing
The service & bread plate & hummus were good, that's about it. We were excited to try the pastrami on latke with gravy/sauce since many reviewers mention it. It was almost inedible. It was like having a salt bomb explode in your mouth. There was no subtlety or nuanced flavour to this dish whatsoever. Aside from the salt, everything tasted like the gravy. Many reviews say it reminds them of their grandmother's food, we're not Jewish, so maybe this is why we don't get it. We were only looking for a good meal, not a trip down memory lane. We spent four weeks exploring Buenos Aires and his was by far the worst meal we had.

The most terrible experience, it was nothing to do with Jewish Eastern European tradition . Service was unacceptable and Quality of food was very bad . Strongly recommends to exclude this restaurant from your list .
Be the first to ReplyExcellent restaurant, highly recommended,
I went here because I found this restaurant on Somebody feed Phil currently on Netflix. We arrived here about 20 minutes prior to opening and the hostess come out to tell us they opened at 7 which was the time of our reservation. We took a walk and came back at opening. We were greeted right away, we were taken to our seats, by the front. I was very happy to be inside because I have been eaten by the mosquitoes on this trip so very badly. Our servers name was Bryan / Brian and he was very kind. I speak a little Spanish, my husband speaks none. He spoke enough English that we got by easy enough. I had gone through tripadvisor and snapped a few pictures of what looked good and I had also written down the entree from the show. My husband and I don’t eat a ton of food, we do not have physically demanding jobs. We started with a Pisco Rose, a martini for my husband and a bottle of still water. Drinks were good but different then we are used to, not bad though, just different. We ordered the gravlax appetizer because of another persons photo and that is just my type of thing. My husband gobbled it up, I did get some though. The dish I wanted was not on the menu and the other pastrami dish they did not have so we had the pastrami with latkes. OMG the person who says this feeds way more then two is right. A huge 2” latke with a huge piece of pastrami on top with onions and a delicious sauce. So unbelievable. We could have shared this with two other people. My husband also had a glass of wine and I had the Betabel Sour which had beet juice in it. It was very good. Oh, by the way you are also given a bread tray with condiments…I don’t normally eat bread but the one bread was so good with the olive oil and if I cannot get this olive oil on Amazon I am checking in my luggage just to have some. It has been 24 hours since we were here and we are still not hungry. We had no dessert…we walked back to our hotel, 30 min away. The staff, the music, the food, the atmosphere were perfect in our opinions. We have no negative comments. I wish the entree had been smaller so we could have tried more things. It was a wonderful time. Also someone mentioned in their review they were reminded they had to be done in 1.5 hours, we were not. Two people, basically 100.00 plus tip for all we had which included four drinks. I would go here again if I had more time but we don’t. Every person who came to our table, even to wipe away crumbs was kind. Excellent.
Be the first to ReplyMaybe in the Minority, but it's Inconsistent and too pricey.
We had a very nice meal, but based on everything we heard, we were expecting extraordinary (that includes Somebody Feed Phil). Our party of 4 started with smoked trout, gefilte fish, and kibbeh. All were very good, though I thought the portions were small and the gefilte fish was average. We then had the Pastrami with Latkes that was one of the most memorable dishes I've had and 2 orders of Varenykys that were also chintzy portion wise. They too were good but not wow like the pastrami. With just 2 glasses of wine, the bill was $160 which was almost double of the most expensive and great meal we had until then. Service by our main waiter was not good. He did not smile the entire meal...seemed like he had a hemorrhoid problem. The other servers were very nice and smiley. Also had an ordering issue. We wanted to order main courses after we finished the appetizers and the server said that's not how the restaurant works. I'd come back for the Pastrami.
Be the first to ReplyDelivered on its reputation
The restaurant delivered on its reputation. Had the most amazing meal with dishes that we last in our memory. Staff were friendly and service was excellent . The menu was great with some interesting dishes and flavours. Definitely a place we will return to
Be the first to ReplyA lovely restaurant and the music was great!
We were lucky to get reservations for an early seating (perfect for tired travelers!) on short notice. The only problem was that the portions are so huge that we ended up with way too much food. No options for doggy bags, we had an early flight the next day (and I don't know if they would accommodate that request anyway). I hope our uneaten food found a happy dog somewhere. Anyway, we loved what we were served and just wish we could have ordered less and consumed more. But we loved the music (chosen by the owner, I was told) so had a great time relaxing and enjoying the experience.
Be the first to ReplyEat here!
The atmosphere was fun, the food absolutely amazing. It’s not your mother’s Jewish kitchen, it’s modern and inventive! We had the pastrami and latkes, which they said was enough for 2 or 3 people. 4 of us shared the pastrami and this plus the appetizer was more than enough for 4 of us. One of us had the cuttlefish (squid), which was a little salty if you ate the breadcrumbs, which were on the side. I would highly recommend Mishigeune to anyone!

Excellent dishes , great service : the barman was very professional, talented and entertaining. Definitely a must experience!
Be the first to ReplyVery quirky menu and not a Shabbat experience
We saw this restaurant in the Latam top 50 for 2022 where it talked about the Friday night Shabbat experience. W had our concierge book a Friday night when the “experience” was to take place. We don’t like to eat at 10:30 but that is what the restaurant suggested so we decided to go “local”. There is no special Friday night celebration. Would not even know that there was any Jewish influence. (We explained the significance of the menu to the staff of some, of the dishes). Unfortunately one of the musicians never showed so there was not even any music. This was unexpected and the other musician seriously worried as could not contact him. This was not the restaurants fault but still. Now to the food which is “Mishiguene”. The combos are strange, but interesting. The babaganousch was tasty if small. The pastrami over the brick was huge. So much meat; the brick or potato kugle was tasteless. Our expectations for this restaurant were high and it was disappointing. Better to eat elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is really good but the service is awful
I have just finished my experience with this restaurant. The food was really good but the service did not match. I came to this restaurant because it was recommended by the Marriot Hotel Concierge…. But I have to admit that I feel my self in a fast food restaurant. I know I had only 90 minutes to have a dinner (yes, they do that!!!! …..and I think this is because the economic situation so they can rotate more clients and increase the income ) ….. the worst part wash the waiter pushing us all the time … they took my glass of wine before I have finished … they try to remove the starter before I ask to …. so they can bring the main plates…… I am sorry to say that I regret … yesterday I was at Aramburu and the day before at the Elena restaurant at Four season hotel … and both, in addition to excellent food, have incomparable service. You have to improve a lot to get the same status . Never more
Be the first to ReplyUnique cuisine and great atmosphere
The delicious Jewish-inspired dishes made for an exceptional dining experience. Staff were great and the decor was modern.
Be the first to ReplyStaff that charges was very bad, really bad i .
I am really sad about what happened. I love the fod and it was my 3rd time there BUT the set of thinks is what counts. I was paying with credit card and the woman did not know how the machine works, she tried once and because of her mistake the card was not accepted. She got so angry, really so angry and I asked her to be patient. She tried other 2 times but so angry and nervous that obviously it would not work. Well, I paid with money and I left. Some seconds later O got a SMS saying that the payment with the card had been acepted and then another SMS saying that the restaurant had retuned the credit to me (of course). It means that the card was accepted, but as the woman was so nervous, so angry, with no patience at all she has not realuzed that. They were honest and returned the credit, obviusly, but this attitude from this woman made me feel very humilliated. This kind of truble can happeb BUT this attitude is unacceptable!!!
