I had a great experience here at Misi! The staff is very friendly and the interior is cute and nicely lit. The Ricotta Toast appetizer is a must get, and the Grilled Artichokes are delicious as well. The mushrooms pair well with the Ricotta Toast too! We got two tomato sauce pastas, a Sheep's Milk Ricotta Pasta, and the Spinach and Mascarpone Tortellini. The Ricotta and Tortellini pastas were both our favorites - definitely better than the tomato sauce pastas. Don't skip on dessert here as well! The Espresso gelato was full of espresso flavor, and the pistachio gelato had bits of pistachio in it. They were both super creamy and a great way to end the meal. One downside to this place is that portions are pretty small, so you might be hungry afterwards if you're a big eater.Be the first to Reply
The food was amazing! The spinach and mascarpone filled tortellini was so good but very rich, it filled me up so quick. Service was great:) Waiter was very friendly and answered all the questionsBe the first to Reply
Didn't expect the gelato to be such a hit (not pictured, as it was devoured so quickly).Be the first to Reply
I've gotten so many recommendations to check Misi out and I was finally able to grab a reservation for a Sunday lunch time spot. I'm so glad I tried Misi and knocked it out of my restaurant bucket list. I highly recommend getting a bunch of dishes and sharing it. For the appetizer we got the roasted trumpet mushrooms sott'ollio with whipped ricotta crostini. I am not a fan of mushrooms but the mushrooms were seasoned and cooked so well. The whipped ricotta was also very good. Another review said that the whipped ricotta tasted like glorified cream cheese, so I was worried but I was so wrong. This appetizer was probably my favorite dish. The mushrooms paired so well with the bread. For the pastas we got the spinach mascarpone tortelli and the chitarra. The chitarra is a bit spicy and the tortelli was kind of sweet. I thought it was a great idea to have two different flavors of pasta. For dessert we got the fior di latte gelato. It's like a sweet cream originally vanilla gelato and it was so creamy.I don't think I'd come again unless someone was visiting New York. The foods a bit pricy so I probably won't come here oftenBe the first to Reply
love the ambiance and how clean - modern - fresh - bright this place feels. and the pasta??? DELISH. they also have great wine selections, especially for single glasses. absolute delight!Be the first to Reply
I managed to score a 7:30 reservation at the bar for my birthday, and the staff at Misi made it a really special and memorable meal. Everyone was incredibly kind and attentive, with several people wishing me a happy birthday and bringing out an additional fior di latte gelato with a candle at the end of the meal. The service could not have been better. In terms of the food, Misi truly lives up to the hype. The whipped ricotta toast with trumpet mushrooms is life-changingly delicious. The sheep's milk ricotta occhi was the star pasta of the evening, but possibly my favorite dish of the evening was the olive oil gelato. I've never had anything like it, and I think it'll continue to appear in my dreams for years to come. Every other dish that we ordered was really excellent as well; everything is prepared simply but to the highest quality and with exceptional flavor. Between the service, the food, and the wonderful ambience, I could not recommend Misi enough!Be the first to Reply
I am honestly mystified at how this place is so highly rated. The atmosphere is lovely, and the smell when you walk in is promising, but that is where it ends. We we're hounded 2 days before our reservation to confirm that we were, in fact, going to make it. And then we proceeded to wait 20 minutes to sit at our actual table when we got there. Our waiter took about 25 minutes to take our order, and then our food took another hour. What arrived was deeply disappointing - over cooked pasta with no flavor or balance of seasoning. I'm a pasta girl, and I could not stomach more than 3 bites. Maybe we came on an off night, but what a disappointment - there are a million and one other places in nyc to get consistently great pasta.Be the first to Reply
We booked this place last minute after stumbling on an available reservation for 1 hour later. Since the next availability was for the end of the month (we went on the first weekend of the month) we figured it was "now or never".It didn't take long for us to get seated and service was very efficient. The ambience of the restaurant was very modern and the main highlights of the room were clearly the pasta making space and a very well lit bar.We ordered 3 dishes. The first vegetable dish was our favorite. A simple Italian Broccoli dish with salty and sour/acidic notes. 8/10 for this. Unfortunately, after this dish, we were disappointed with the rest. The 2 pastas were very bland. The spinach Tortellini was so buttery it was almost too buttery. The sheep's milk Occhi only added more richness to our meal to the point where we struggled with finishing it. The lemon/citrus notes were a nice thought but the execution aka taste, felt somewhat sloppy given that the flavors did not combine very well. The gelato was a good finish, especially for people who liked Dark Chocolate.Overall, given that this restaurant was a trek for us to get to, we don't foresee it to be worthy of repeating. It was honestly a very disappointing meal given the expectations of how hard it was to secure a reservation here.Be the first to Reply
Delicious food, great atmosphere! It's definitely not healthy (see butter sauce in tortelli photo) but it's soooo good. I made a reservation 3 weeks in advance for 2 at the counter. I don't typically like mushrooms but the trumpet mushrooms that came with the whipped ricotta toast were delicious!Be the first to Reply
The first time I heard about Misi was while watching Barefoot Contessa; Ina was making an arrabbiata sauce in a similar style as her FRIEND Missy Robbins, and mentioned she owned this restaurant. This intrigued me since I love pasta, and Ina's recommendations rank high for me. I placed it in my bookmarks with the intention to try it, and finally got the opportunity the other night. Misi is located in South Williamsburg, not far from Domino Park on the ground level of what looks like upscale residences. It was a job to get a reservation here; this and Robbins' other restaurant Lilia (also in Brooklyn) are very popular and usually booked solid. This only made me more motivated to get a table here - I really wanted to know what the hype was about; was Misi truly one of the best pasta restaurants there was, or was it simply due to it being in a trendy area and owned by a notable chef? Reservations open 30 days out at 10am, so I set my alarm and snagged a late table. Misi gives off modern aesthetics - the restaurant is bustling with an open floor space. There's an open kitchen area, a moderate amount of tables in the dining space, and a bar along the back wall with more seating. I also noticed a separate room that almost looked like a prep room but I sense could also double as a private dining area. The color scheme was pretty monochromatic; with the exception of some greenery towards the entrance, the entire restaurant is covered in white. I really liked it - the sparse decor and light color played against the somewhat loud noise and busy atmosphere. The menu is relatively simple - comprised of vegetable starters and pasta mains. There were three of us, so we decided to split three starters and three pastas. To start, we got the citrus dish which, in addition to the fruit, came with smoked ricotta, olive oil, and basil. We also got the grilled broccoli with provolone and breadcrumbs, and the cannellini beans. These were all very good - my two favorites were the broccoli and cannellini beans. They had a good balance of ingredients and great flavor. For our pastas, we got the rigatoni pomodoro, spinach and mascarpone tortellini, and the bucatini. These were all great; notably, the rigatoni tasted very fresh and the basil flavor was prominent, even if you didn't have a leaf on your fork. The tortellini was really unique - the filling was creamy without being too rich, and the brown butter really elevated the dish. The dessert menu is equally as simple, consisting of gelato and coffees. We decided on three flavors: pistachio, olive oil, and fior di latte. My two favorites were the pistachio and olive oil; the former was really meaty - good flavor and loaded with pistachios. The latter was one of the most unique gelatos I've had - prominent olive oil flavor which met you at the back of the throat and paired nicely with the cool creaminess of the gelato. Service was great, everyone was super friendly and everything came out at a good pace. So, is Misi worth the hype? Well, I think it's worth going but I don't see what they offer correlate to the relative difficulty there is to book a table. I've been to other Italian restaurants that serve equally as good if not better pasta - they just don't have the name and location that are behind Misi. Still, I would definitely return here for another meal, and now I'm intrigued to try out Lilia. The Barefoot Contessa has yet again pointed me in the right direction.Be the first to Reply
From the appetizers all the way to the dessert. There wasn't one bad bite. This place is truly worth the hype. My favorite pasta dish was between the sheep's milk ricotta and the fettuccini but they were really all amazing. The service was outstanding, they were so helpful if we didn't know what to order and helped us create the perfect meal. The place was bright and beautiful during the day and dark and romantic at night. When we got there we watch them make the pasta for the night which was so interesting to watch them cut each of the strands of pasta with such care. I will 100% be back.Be the first to Reply

I discovered Misi through its online hype and was able to snag a 4:30pm reservation. Based on the hype, I had high expectations. For drinks, I recommend the A+T spritz which was refreshing and citrusy with warm spicy undertones. We started with the ricotta toast with mushrooms. It was flavorful and hearty but both my friend and I ended up scraping much of the ricotta off the toast. Yes, it's a pretty design, but the sheer amount messed with the flavor balance. I spotted a man at another table doing the same thing. For pasta dishes, we ordered the spinach and mascarpone ravioli and the the braised lamb chitarra. The pasta was cooked well in both and the lamb sauce was tender and flavorful. The spinach ravioli was definitely rich, and you have to be a fan of butter to like it, but I enjoyed it. We ended with the mint stracciatella and pistachio gelato, both of which were excellent (credentials: I worked in a local ice cream shop for over 4 years). Overall, the food was filling and delicious. That said, there are definitely comparable Italian restaurants in both Brooklyn and Manhattan.Be the first to Reply
Decided to stop by here during a trip to New York City. Hands down I absolutely loved it. Fresh pasta and made in-house. The gnocchi dish was top notch. My food was served hot like it just came out of the pan. Make sure you make a reservation way ahead of time!Be the first to Reply
I am surprised that somehow my friends and I managed to get seated at Misi without reservations but I am really glad we did. The ambience of Misi is really nice- I absolutely love the open kitchen concept. I did not have their popular crostini but it is definitely something I want to try on my second visit. I had various different types of pasta with my friends and I and I must say, Misi must make some of the best pasta I've ever had. The sheep's milk ricotta filled gnocchi is literally to die for and the brown butter tortellini is delicious as well. The only downside of this place is that the portions are ridiculously small- one pasta per person is not enough IMHO. But definitely it let do yourself and try that delicious pasta. I will certainly be back.Be the first to Reply
While I don't think it's worth the "it takes a month to get a reservation here" hype, I really enjoyed my meal here! The ambience at the kitchen counter is quite nice and the service was fast + professional. I ordered the ricotta toast with peaches (as all of Yelp seemed to have recommend) and it lives up! So creamy and the fruit compote is just a phenomenal add. I can't tell if it is a life-altering dish, but it does live up to its reputation. The spinach and marscapone tortelli is also a fantastic pasta! The brown butter takes it to a whole new level and it feels like a bit of a flavor explosion in your mouth with every bite. With they laid off a bit on the cheese is my only qualm. For $45 pp post tax + tip, this is a pretty affordable high quality meal and I would love to return.Be the first to Reply
Amazing food and great vibes, will be visiting again soon! Highly recommend the anchovy pasta!Be the first to Reply
Of course had to order the whipped ricotta which had a side of nectarines. We ordered the fettuccine and the gnocchi which were both pretty good. I like the gnocchi more, but my mom liked the fettuccine a lot. We also got the special of the day which was the porterhouse with beans. Although it looked huge, it didn't have a lot of meat and for $130 it was just okay. Will come back for the ricotta toast and pasta though.Be the first to Reply
Everything was really good but it wasn't life changing. I love both our appetizers, the ricotta toast and grilled baby artichokes, and spinach and mascarpone filled tortelli. I also enjoyed the anchovy linguine but I can see it being too salty for some. Couldn't really taste the nduja in the bucatini, even though the sauce was good. All of the pasta was very fresh but the portions weren't that large.Be the first to Reply
.. I know it's in Brooklyn but seriously it's worth the trip every time. The food is incredible, the ambiance is sexy and the service is outstanding. The food makes you feel like you're in Italy with all of the fresh pasta. We sat at the counter and watched as the chefs carefully prepared everything and it was a night to remember. It's extremely hard to get a reservation here and I know why.. worth every penny and the anticipated wait. You HAVE to eat here if you have the opportunity.Be the first to Reply
Sometimes when a place is super hyped up, I assume it won't live up to the hype. That is NOT the case with Misi. It lived up to the hype and I need to go back and also try their sister restaurant, Lilia! The service was great- very attentive but not too attentive (they cleaned crumbs off our table after apps and before pastas came which was super nice!), and I was impressed how efficiently the kitchen/ service was. I expected to be waiting longer to be seated and served but it was immediate seating with our reservation and the food was served timely. Every dish was remarkable. The whipped ricotta on bread with roasted peppers was unbelievable. The ricotta was much softer than I thought and was delectable. The peppers were perfectly sweet. We also got the whole eggplant- it was good but very spicy! For pastas, we got a bunch! The occhi- perfectly Al dente and delicious, spinach and marscapone tortelli in brown butter sauce (yum), linguini with anchovy, garlic, parsley-- loved this one if you like the fishiness of anchovies paired with herbiness/ saltiness- YUM ALSO, and the chitarra with lamb. All were incredible. To finish it off we got strawberries and cream gelato which was so creamy and fresh tasting. Truly remarkable. I need to get back here and try everything on the menu! It also looked like there were open seats at the bar, especially before 7:30, so maybe we can eat at the bar without a res soon!Be the first to Reply
It's an open kitchen so in the summer it's very warm inside! The pastas were everything people say they are. We got the steak and it was meh. The whipped ricotta comes with a vegetable side so be sure to ask! This time ours came with the nectarines which happened to be my favorite dish. The sheeps milk pasta is absolutely my favorite and a must get! Try all the different kinds though.Be the first to Reply
I had dinner here recently and it was delicious! This is such a great spot for a unique and modern Italian dinner. We started off with the ricotta toast, which comes with a seasonal item on the side (we had nectarines), and the grilled artichokes. Both were delicious, but the artichokes were SO good and one of my favorite dishes from the night. They were light and refreshing while still being full of flavor. For pastas, we got the linguine with anchovies and the nduja bucatini. I was honestly a little skeptical of an anchovy pasta but it was amazing. There was that savory salty flavor from the fish and toasted breadcrumbs on top which added a nice crunch. It wasn't too fishy, just had a similar seafood flavor that a clam pasta would have. The nduja pasta was also delicious and had a nice kick from the sausage. The best part about both of these pastas though was the pasta itself! You can tell that they make the pasta in house. The texture and bite to the noodles were perfect and really elevated the dish.We also decided to get the seasonal steak special, which was a great choice. It was cooked perfectly medium rare and was prepared in such a unique way with a marinade of olive oil and seasonings and topped with fennel pollen, salt, and pepper. It's definitely a flavor profile and preparation you wouldn't be able to find at a steakhouse, so it was great to be able to try Misi's take on steak. We of course finished off the night with some gelato. One cup was perfect for two people and I highly recommend the strawberry and cream gelato.Overall, we had a great experience and I can't wait to go back to try everything else on the menu!Be the first to Reply
In isolation, Misi would be a truly great restaurant - but given the sky high expectations following the success of Lilia, I have to give 4 stars (with 5 stars as the the benchmark from Lilia).I have been multiple times (first time was day 2 of opening, when Missy Robbins was still tasting things coming out of the kitchen), and most recently last month. I have tried a variety of pastas on the menu - they are all very good, but not truly outstanding compared to the pastas I have had at Lilia. Their appetizers are stellar though. The whipped ricotta crostini is wildly popular for good reason - I have had it accompanied with roasted peppers or mushrooms (depending on what's on the menu), but much prefer the peppers. The space itself is beautifully designed, sleek minimalist/modern with an open kitchen. When you make reservations on Resy, you can pick which seats you want. The service is professional and courteous, all the way from the hostess to servers to bartenders. You can tell they are pros, as the place runs like a well oiled machine.Misi is a victim (perhaps unfairly) of Lilia's success, as the comparisons will always be made despite being different restaurants. Is this restaurant good? Definitely. But I admit that when friends ask me for recommendations of the best pasta in the city, Misi is not yet in my top three - but that doesn't mean I won't be coming back in the future to see if my opinions change.Be the first to Reply
