Extremely disappointed with this restaurant the last
Extremely disappointed with this restaurant the last several times visiting. They seem to have changed the menu recently, but are always still out of the ingredients to make some of the drinks that are listed on the updated menu. The food is good, but not worth the price. Unfortunately will not be returning soon, which is a shame because the first several visits were very positive.

Absolutely loved my time at mission ceviche! The food was so good, honorable mention to the catch of the day ceviche and the paella. But that's not even the best part. From the moment we walked in we were treated so kindly by the staff and hosts. Special shout-out to Kelvin, who was so wonderful and hospitable to us during our time there. He even moved our table from near the door to towards the back of the restaurant because I was cold with the draft. Can't say enough good things! Will definitely be back!

Have been here a few times with my husband, started off
Have been here a few times with my husband, started off exceptional (loved the food and ambiance-- music gave off White Lotus vibes) but unfortunately each return experience keeps getting worse and worse. They never have the drinks we want even when it is still listed on the menu. As an example, the last 3 times we went, they did not have the ingredients for their Grownups Raspadilla. So the last time before we went I called an hour ahead of coming in and asked to be sure, and the guy who answered the phone told me adamantly "yes." I asked him again if he was sure because the last two times we came they didn't have it even though it was listed on the menu, and again he reassured me-- yes we have it today. Show up an hour later and guess what, they don't have it. Then mid-meal my husband orders another drink and it never arrives, so he checks in with the waiter and the waiter says "sorry we will bring you something special to make up for it, just to check everyone is drinking tonight right?" So we thought maybe he'd bring us a round of special Peruvian liquor or something... nope, never brought out anything else. I mean, we don't really care if you don't bring us something extra but then don't offer? So odd. The first time we came we had this female waitress who was enthusiastic, gave great recommendations, and kept coming back to check on us. The service just hasn't been nearly as good since then, and we haven't seen this waitress again either. Probably won't be back as for the price, we really expect much better service and food/drinks.

My friends and I went on Thursday and it was a great time-- wonderful drinks (try the Albariño!), amazing food (octopus starter was a crowd pleaser), and spectacular service (Calvin the host was a blast and our waiter Anthony was very friendly and attentive). Will definitely go back!

5 stars! Amazing ambience, so fun and elegant.
The food was sooo delicious. We loved the tar tar ceviche, mixed seafood rice dish, octopus. The server was very nice, attentiveTo our allergies. Drinks were delicious especially the maracuyá sour

All the fishes on the menu cost about 45 dollars, they offered the day special a sole fish. We order and the surprise, it costs 95 dollars for a plain fish. Really plain, almost tasteless. I will never return.
🤮
Ordered Dover Sole 'special''.
We anticipated it would be close to other fish items on menu (branzinho, halibut) at $42-$45 a plate, especially since waiter did not announce price.Bill came in at $95 for the sole.it's a trap!!!!!

What an incredible experience!!! Mission ceviche came highly recommended to us, and when we told Calvin it was our first time dining there, he went above and beyond to ensure we had the most memorable experience!! From the staff to the food to the ambiance, it was truly a meal we won't forget. We will surely be back again soon!!! Exceeding expectations :)

My husband and I kept postponing coming here as every time
My husband and I kept postponing coming here as every time we planned it, our friends cancelled or wanted to go at a time we couldn't make it. We finally made it here for lunch (or brunch) on a Saturday afternoon. The place was "jumping" but not extremely busy for a weekend as many other reviewers have mentioned. The decour is beautiful; a mix of new art-deco + Peruvian heritage style. The food was amazing. The apps: yuca balls are basically mashed yuca (maybe with some potato?) and have huancaina sauce on top, they are filled with delicious truffle cheese. The catch of the day ceviche tasted delicious and is the closest to an authentic Peruvian ceviche served in Peru. The lomo saltado had an incredible soy based sauce that was perfectly complimented by the white rice + peruvian corn. My husband and I shared these 3 plates an though the restaurants is gourmet, we thought it was enough food for the both of us to share. He said the pisco was also delicious. Regarding the service, our host and waitress were honestly amazing. Our main dishes did take a while to come (about 20+ min) which was a little annoying because we had reservations to a show. However, the waitress kept apologizing for the wait and as soon as they checked on us a second time the food came out. One more thing which honestly silly but worth mentioning if anybody at the restaurant ever read this review was the music. I was enjoying the salsa playlist they had on right at the perfect sound level- sometime after our appetizer the music level got so much louder :( it was difficult to hear each other at some point as we were right under some of the speakers (I think).

Had an amazing dinner here with family! From the second we walked in, we were greeted with such warm welcomes and seated at the best four top table that faces the open kitchen. The service and ambiance was incredible, the food was amazing and the cocktails were top notch and so creative. Highly recommend getting the ceviche, mushrooms, oysters, seafood and rice and the chicken dish. Along the with the plantains and the green salad side. Every single thing that came out of the kitchen looked amaZing. Run don't walk here!

Having been multiple times during the daytime, and once for
Having been multiple times during the daytime, and once for dinner over a year ago, and generally enjoying the (very expensive) experience, I booked a reservation at Mission Ceviche for two, with a note in the reservation that said we would only have drinks, and that seating at the bar would be fine if they'd prefer. The reservation was accepted. We arrived at the restaurant, and were first greeted by one of the worst electronica songs I've heard in my entire life, playing at approximately 45,000 decibels. This surprised me, since my experience with the restaurant previously had been closer to "Fine Dining" than "European Discotheque Scene in a John Wick Movie." After standing in the packed doorway dodging the other seven guests who had no place to stand, the manager arrived at his iPad. He had the general vibe of a man who thinks Tony Montana was the hero of Scarface. The music began to make sense. He poked at the iPad, doing visibly nothing, and eventually asked for our reservation name. I provided it, and he read the message attached to the reservation regarding drinks and seating at the bar. He made a combination "whoops" and "this is unbelievable" face and looked at the bar. It was full. He said nothing more to us. However, there was a table for two directly next to us, vacant.Though we arrived ten minutes before our reservation time, we continued to stand there, dodging guests and waiters. There is a substantial number of outside tables, so this was constant, and in the dead of winter, we were blasted by cold repeatedly. For about 35 minutes, we stood there, and watched as parties with reservations after ours were seated. We began to realize helping them out by telling them we just wanted drinks was a strike against us. Just shy of half an hour after our reservation time, we were seated at the table that had been vacant the entire time we were standing there. It had not been cleaned in the interim; the manager simply chose not to allow us to sit there. For almost 40 minutes. We immediately ordered an appetizer and the two-person $44 Chiwilla Colada (on the waiter's first visit, just after he greeted us). After all, we had found some time to look at the menu. The potatoes were great, and arrived quickly. Service was good. The drink was fine. It was also served in a pineapple with a bunch of silly straws, so it was pretty embarrassing, and certainly wasn't worth the price, but it would have been an "okay, but not again" drink. That said, as they delivered the drink, which was our waiter's second visit to the table, he asked if we would be ordering more food. I mentioned that, as we said in the reservation, we were planning on only having drinks, but we might order another dish or two. The waiter, who we liked, apologetically told us that the manager insisted on us ordering food or we'd have to leave. Tony Montana apparently felt that he couldn't give us that message in the 35 minutes we stood directly next to him, and would rather hide behind his (very pleasant) waitstaff. This, of course, not to mention the fact that if we ordered at the rate we had already been ordering, they would be making several hundred dollars an hour from us. And, of course, ignoring that had they seated us at the table when it was available, they would have had a full extra half hour of table usage. One would imagine those who are so worried about average check size would also be worried about vacant tables with waiting customers, but clearly "managing restaurants" was not on this manager's list of skills. This is where, typically, I would ask to speak with him. But this was supposed to be a nice night with my partner, and as such, she was not interested in the confrontation involved. So, we paid and left with a profound sense of disrespect. Usually, instilling this sort of unhappiness on customers is a team effort, but this manager, an all-star of horrible hospitality, was able to singlehandedly carry us to one of the worst three restaurant experiences in our lifetime. For reference, in the other two, we were never served.I tipped in cash to make sure the waiter got it, recognizing that the manager was the very personification of impropriety, and I felt horrible for the waiters who had to work under him. This happened a few months ago-- it was such a disrespectful experience that I wanted to simply forget about it and move on. However, the restaurant came up in conversation recently, and someone else independently brought up this manager's behavior. I realized at that point that he's ruining the experience for every single other employee in the establishment, and they don't deserve that. It's necessary to share my experience. My other experiences at the restaurant would warrant 4 stars-- mostly good food with good service, at a somewhat too-premium price point. This single man has turned me into an evangelist to never let a friend go again.

Busy fun place on a Saturday night
Never having eaten Peruvian, this restaurant was an adventure- we enjoyed the whole experience. The pisco sours were delicious, and all the dishes were tasty. The service was good- the whole team seemed to work together. The only drawback was the noise level- so loud we couldn't communicate. If you want something different and delicious, try Mission Ceviche.
We had 2 cocktails and 1 dessert that was the size of 2 tablespoons. Cocktails were ok - pisco sour was tiny and average. Dessert was mediocre. Bar tender was pushing the third friend to drink a cocktail rather than soda water until I told him to back off. Bar stools were really uncomfortable. Each cocktail was $18 and dessert $16. Total cost - $70! Definitely not a place to go for a drink or dessert.
Amazing Peruvian restaurant!! We had dinner and drinks at the bar.. and Jesus, the bartender, is the BEST!!, gave us the best service and he made us our night unforgettable. We will come back!!
Mission Ceviche used to be my favorite restaurant at all times, because of that I proposed to my friend's to go there for NYE. A big mistake. We paid $225 per person, the food was not good. It came to our table cold. The server forgot to bring our dessert and when he finally brought it, the ice cream was completely melted. He never came to our table even to refill the water. They included a 20% tip on top of the $225 we had paid. I had one drink and my friends had 2 and we paid almost $1000 for a horrible service and food. I was so embarrassed because I was the one who suggested to my friends there saying they had amazing food

Poor seating service by the Maitre’D
I requested to be seated at the bar by the maitre’d noting we were only there for drinks and appetizers. There were two open seats. The Maitre’d insisted he had a nice table available multiple time although I stated there were two open seats at the bar. We we were led to a table outside. Although there was a heating lamp outside the door was continuously opened by patrons and my companion was dripped on a few times by rain. Also there was one couple seated outside who had a similitude experience vi also witnessed the same happening to a group of four tabard occurred well after we we seated. Also of concern was certain ethnicities or the appearance of such was the norm outside.
🤢
Avoid the back dining room.
I’ve been a few times now but my last visit was a huge disappointment. Food is still good but side indoor dining annex is neglected and unattractive. They threw it together to make more money. Feels like 2 different restaurants. One has a cool bar and open kitchen vibe while the other has visible dishwasher machines in the back and bare white walls with green leaves stapled on them. It was not a nice dining experience. Also watch your bar bills- sketchy up charges when they think no one is looking. It’s too bad— this restaurant still serves good food but they are putting profit over customer experience.
🙂
Fantastic food; shame about the noise level
We were a group of six family members, our first time together since July 2019. The restaurant has a fun atmosphere with excellent food. We did the tasting menu for $95 that included ceviche (outstanding); tuna tartare, scallops, beef and tres leches cake. Everything was delicious and the drinks were also really good. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant but the music volume was insane. It was impossible to have a conversation and I left there with ringing in my ears. It totally spoiled our reunion!
Check your Receipt Well before you hand in your payment. And for anyone planning a large party celebration at Mission Ceviche look for a more reputable establishment otherwise, you have a big chance to get swindled by experts !! I had a party of 25 guests (not a small deal) with a fixed cost proposed by the manager (Carlos) at $ 95 per person, plus service and tax. You would think that is already a steep cost just for food in a B-type Restaurant. Well, my surprise came at the time they presented the check with a 40 % increment to our agreement. Mind you that alcohol and drinks were billed separately. Of course, they came with bogus explanations and that’s probably what you will see if they reply. Carlos is not a trustworthy person, unfortunately, he has the blessing of the owners, which says a lot about the way they choose to run their establishment

My best lomo saltado yet.
This place is world class. The service is exceptional. The ambiance is perfect and the food is top quality, beautifully designed and off course delicious. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes.

Was surprised to see how much space the outdoor seating
Was surprised to see how much space the outdoor seating expands into! It was a relatively cool day out, so my friend and I opted to sit outside to also enjoy that summer breeze. The menu had changed a bit - we came ready to order some things that were on a previous menu instead. Nonetheless, we were taken aback by most of what we ordered, which include: - Mixto - Octopus ceviche - Conchas a la parmesana - Gamba anticuchera Most of what we got were smaller plates since we weren't super hungry but they were unforgettable. I have to point out the Conchas a la parmesana: scallops and foie gras onigiri - honey truffle. When we both tried it, we were quite speechless... The scallops were so tender, and that touch of honey truffle adds a sweetness that is so unexpected yet complementary. Then, you get a bite of the foie gras, which instantly melts. The combination of this with the scallop and honey - sweet and heavy but at the same time light, is undescribable. One dish comes with 4 of these, and I think 2 per person is just the perfect amount to avoid feeling too heavy. The octopus ceviche is also a must-try with its scallop tiger's milk. So fragrant and ever-so well crafted. Drooling just thinking about it! The next time, would love to shift focus onto the entrees when we have a bigger appetite for sure, but will still catch me ordering a lot of the appetizers!

This place has such a fun vibe on the inside with loud
This place has such a fun vibe on the inside with loud music and great decorations that scream Peruvian cuisine! We opted for an outside seat which was less loud and had nice lights--a more intimate setting for you and your partner! We ordered the classic ceviche, octopus ceviche, and the mariscos con arroz! All three dishes were absolutely delicious 5/5 each. The classic ceviche was refreshing and I could tell the fish was fresh and good quality. The sauce was citrusy and paired well with the fish. The ceviche came with three onion rings which was nice! 5/5You haveee to try the octopus ceviche! I was so pleasantly surprised by how the top had this crunchy yam/potato chip with a dot of sauce. Each bite consisted of a yummy octopus ceviche with the crunch. Really good! 5/5The seafood rice was a nice comforting dish compared to the other two we got. It was a nice contrast and reminded me of something a Peruvian grandma would cook--comforting and homey. Each bite was flavorful and I loved that there were some vegetables such as corn, peas, cherry tomatoes along with the seafood. 5/5Overall I would definitely be coming back, and I really really recommend this place:)
🙂
One of the best ceviche I had in my life.
And don't forget to try roll acevichado! However, we didn't impress with Roasted Branzino, the souse was a little bitter.

I waited so long to eat here and I got disappointed big
I waited so long to eat here and I got disappointed big time, it's obvious the place it's trendy but that doesn't mean that you need to overcrowd the place, literally to eat you need to be the best friend of the person beside you, and the food it's to much elaborated to much flavors competing each other and to much seasoning.Peruvian coousine should be simpler and more delicate, everything had super strong flavors. And prices again I understand the trendiness of the place but are way higher of what it should compared with similar offers in the area. Sad really sad my expectations were so high, I don't know maybe but a big maybe will consider to come back to find better luck. Also what is showed on pics is not really what you receive and explanation from server it is very poor an inventive. Service it's ok it's good our waiter was really good. That is why I put 2 stars
