Fantastic menu and view (if you are will to prepay in
Fantastic menu and view (if you are will to prepay in advance for window table). Service is impeccable but of course you are going to pay Dallas prices. It's earned its distinction as one of the best in Dallas. We ordered an appetizer and split an entree which was more than enough.

Absolutely amazing service!! Request Justin and Bryan, they are absolutely amazing! We had such a wonderful time celebrating at Monarch for my husband's new job. Would definitely recommend this place and getting there early to experience the wonderful views of the bar and taking in the amazing restaurant!
Be the first to ReplyThis was my second time to Monarch because my first time
This was my second time to Monarch because my first time wasn't good because of several mishaps with the host/hostess. This second time, Efrain(manager) and Von(waiter) made sure my dinner was the best. I couldn't have asked for a better experience this second time around. We ordered the wood fired meatballs (5 ), crab pasta (5 not directly on menu) and crab legs (5 ) . Von was easily one of the top 2-3 waiters I've ever had at a restaurant. If you want a top tier experience ask for Von to be your waiter. I will most definitely be back
Be the first to ReplyFirst off, the view is simply gorgeous and that's what you
First off, the view is simply gorgeous and that's what you are paying for. Food: My filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, BUT flavorless. Had no taste what so ever and I expect more for the price point. The Caesar salad was my favorite thing on the table, but wish it had a protein source that could have been added since it was $18. The food just was not it for me. My friends asked for a strawberry lemonade and they rang it up as a mocktail for $10 . Service: We had a reservation for 8pm, but didn't get seated until around 8:30pm. The hostess and bartenders were friendly and attentive, but I can't say the same for our waiter. Service was slow and not what I would have expected at the price that was being paid for the "experience".
Be the first to ReplyI am not even sure where to begin, We had a team dinner
I am not even sure where to begin, We had a team dinner there with one of our vendors at work, there was 10 of us. Nobody wanted or had to ask for anything, this team literally read all of our signs and kept us fed, and drinks filled without going out of our way to ask. We had a bunch of apps, a few entrees, a bunch of sides. I had one of the best paper planes I have had in quite some time, I then tried their Sovereign high I may or may not have tried a few more times. Finished off with an espresso martini that was to die for. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection and displayed on boards for the table, the service staff made sure to explain everything to the table as far as temps and what everything was. We had a truffle allergy as well which was handled perfectly, we all made it out safely... The views are also amazing

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing! The women's bathroom has a stall where you can see the view of downtown and it's awesome. The food was good and the waitress was attentive.

Amazing espresso martinis, gorgeous views of Dallas, delicious food. Monarch never disappoints! We've gone several times, the chicken, steak, fish, it's all been stellar. The chocolate cake is phenomenal as well.

Top of the National. Parking Valet for $10 plus tip Very friendly-immediate service Upon return, elevator goes to valet level-card payment only Atmosphere Energetic and friendly vibe-hostess in lobby with welcoming sparkling rose. Good view of Seating Bar, intimate booths, tables, cushioned chairs in bar Much reserved-do make a reservation Service From valet to lobby hostess to elevator operator to bar servers-fantastic. Menu Great happy hour menu. Wr had the Prosecco, the cabernet, and the meat/cheese board. The bread was very large, grainy mustard-so good, nice cheeses, pickled veggies, meats. Yum. A-lot of customers got the seafood tower. Looked yum. Others had the oysters-2 servings! Summary Energetic and fun place for happy hour and special occasions. Great menu! Fantastic service! View from floor 49! Will return!

First, you are greeted with a glass of complementary champagne as you check in downstairs. From there, you take the elevator right to the 49th floor and are quickly greeted at the hostess stand. We started with the Moscato d'Asti and the Diamond Noir cocktail. We got the woodfired meatballs as an appetizer and absolutely loved the sauce, mixed with a little Bufalina mozzarella. They also serve housemaid fresh bread with a honey whipped ricotta that was fabulous. For entrรฉes, we ordered the short rib Bolognese and spicy rigatoni pasta. The service was absolutely incredible and the views were spectacular. be sure to request a window seat! All in all, this was a magical way to spend our anniversary.

Came here for dinner during my husband and I's honeymoon! We put down $250 minimum for food and drink to reserve the window table. We were greeted with champagne for the elevator and then with more champagne at our table! We also got complimentary bread, cheese, and salami. The appetizers were amazing- octopus, tartare, oysters. Very elevated. The entrees were also delicious- veal and carbonara. We also both tried different cocktails that were so so good. We booked the table at 6 and got to watch the sunset throughout the evening- so gorgeous!! For dessert we got the soufflรฉ- oh my gosh. So decadent. We loved Monarch and definitely recommend for celebrating a special occasion!

A dinner with my adult kids and we couldn't be happier! Gorgeous room, perfectly attentive staff, delicious food and well crafted drinks. Wish I had taken pics of the food but we were having such a good time. Definitely recommend the veal parma!!
Be the first to ReplyI had a lovely and romantic evening here with my husband.
The service was very good. We were seated promptly, offered drinks and out server went over the menu with us. We decided to get the octopus and meatballs as a starter, split the fish for our meal, a side of asparagus, and the chocolate moose cake for dessert. This was a so much more food than we expected, we had three containers of left overs. We enjoyed all the food we had and i especially liked the meatball sauce. After dinner we went upstairs, grabbed a drink at the bar and walked the catwalk. We stumbled upon an empty cocktail table and we sat for 20 mins talking. Overs it was a nice, romantic date night. We will go again in the future.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a fantastic time for our 7 year wedding anniversary!
We had a fantastic time for our 7 year wedding anniversary! Upon arriving we gave our car to valet and made our way to the lobby where we received a glass of champagne before taking the elevator almost 50 stories up for dinner. We checked in with the host and was escorted to our table with a breathtaking view of the city! And now for the food and drink: the cocktail and wine list was more extensive than we've experienced and we were a bit overwhelmed! Lol Graciously, our waiter held our hand through it and 15 minutes later we decided on the Pornstar Martini for me and a bottle of white for hubs! (I was still nursing my champagne when I ordered my cocktail and a glass of wine ) After cocktails, we shared the meatballs and oysters for appetizers. The meatballs were very flavorful and hearty, and the sauce was amazing! The oysters were fresh and the habanero aioli was very good! It was a change from the normal mignonette and cocktail sauces offered as pairings. For dinner we had the lobster pasta and dry aged ribeye! Delicious! The deconstructed lobster over the pasta made for a unique presentation! The steak was seasoned and done to my perfect medium rare request! For dessert, we split the chocolate cake! It was so moist and decadent! The chocolate peanut butter and caramelized bananas came together very well! Stuffed, tipsy and very satisfied about 2 hours later, we ended our night! We'd like to thank our waitstaff for a beautiful evening! We got everything we could've ever wanted that night! All the staff worked well together to show us the best night and we're very grateful and hope our gratuity showed that! Now for the tips: it's nearly impossible to get a reservation during the weekend without calling in advance, because the place is packed! People flock to the bar and dining area for the experience, and rightfully so! It's amazing! If you're celebrating and want a great view, SPEAK UP! Sure they may not be able to accommodate you, but don't leave anything up to chance! Tell them why you're dining and what you want, and I'm almost positive they will work to make something happen for you. Give enough time to get to the building, park, go up and arrive to your reservation on time. The team works well together to accommodate you, but the weekends are very busy for the building which hosts more than one restaurant and a hotel. Elm street is a parking lot from main to the building on most weekends. You've been warned! Enjoy!

Amazing. Period. my wife and I brought our son to our Marriage Anniversary dinner and the whole staff was so welcoming. Our first contact with Monarch was the front desk on the first floor, complimentary champagne? Yes, please. As we exited the elevator to the monarch restaurant, we were greeted by a gentleman who welcomed us he escorted us to the host stand, we were a little early and they recommended that we should check out the cocktail bar on the next floor up, and the host will grab us when out table was ready. We were escorted to the cocktail bar with the gentleman and he brought us to a 360 view of downtown Dallas, pretty awesome , as you sip your cocktail.Within 20 minutes, a host made contact with us and informed us our table was ready, I mentioned we wanted to be seated away from service and traffic since we had a child and did not want to disrupt other guest or service. They gave us one of the best tables near windows and the kitchen. This was a god-send. As the night progressed, we ordered apps, bread, drinks and main courses. The staff, noticed our son get fussy and one on the cooks/ chefs decided to take it upon himself to play peek-a-boo from kitchen with my son. My son's laugh is so contagious, it made servers stop by and say "What's so funny, buddy, with big smiles" It was heart warming. As dinner progressed, everything tasted great, but children get fussy, and we hate to cause a scene, we decided to have dessert to go. This place is truly a master class in Hospitality.
Be the first to Replyeverything was amazing.
they bring you out like a mini charcuterie complimentary. You are served champagne before you even make it to your table. The spicy rigatoni was great. We also had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. You can't beat the views. Wonderful ambiance.

We had the lasagna and ravioli which were A-MAZING. The service is stellar and the atmosphere is fun and elegant.
Be the first to ReplyIt's a celebration! My 25th working anniversary.
I had a small budget to use so I brought some friends along wit celebrate. Monarch was my first choice. The experience was wonderful. It's downtown on Elm Street and on the 49th floor where you can see the skyline depending on where you're sitting. I suggest that you RSVP early and make sure they know you're having a special occasion to snag a window seat. (That's not guaranteed! I don't want ya'll saying this Yelp Elite told me the secret knock.) The other reason is they're really busy. Even on a random Wednesday that place was hoping! We had a couple of complimentary glasses of sparkling wine before going up to the restaurant. We had a couple of cocktails , a celebratory tequila shot (it was national Tequila Day) and then we went to order. I wanted the Tuna Tartare (spectacular!!) It was so sweet, fresh and melts on your tongue. That's why those booth chairs are so soft. You takes bites of food and want to melt right into the cushions. We had the filet minion, Veal Parmesan (huge, tender and breaded just right), Lamb shank. We chatted and caught up on our busy lives. Courtney was wonderful as well as her assistants ensuring all food desires were met in excess. Ladies!!! Make sure you go to the bathroom with your phone and use the last stall. Trust me.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly how can this be the product of a Michelin Chef?
Honestly how can this be the product of a Michelin Chef? This was an absolute joke of an experience to say the least. I can understand why less cultured, less traveled Dallas natives would rate this place higher than it deserves. We tried practically every other "nice" restaurant in the area and they were all pretty bad, so yes coming here I could see how the underdeveloped pallet would find this place to be wonderful... in short the bar is low. However, for someone who has dined at some of the most decorated Michelin restaurants in the US, I can say without a doubt, this experience was anything but magical. The service was condescending, awkward and rushed. Our "sommelier" helped himself to a glass of wine from our bottle and then the manager came to ask how we were enjoying everything and looked at me blankly when I explained what had just happened. I think I read another review where the guest explained it perfectly- they had every opportunity to recover this situation and the manager was ill prepared. She was dismissive and didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with this behavior. After witnessing a clearly more experienced level 3 sommelier complete wine service at two other tables and not drink their wine, I concluded that this practice was not a standard across the restaurant and for some reason we paid for our sommelier to drink on the job. The explanation for this "standard" was that he was educating himself on the profile of the wine and making sure it wasn't corked. Well, we would have liked to have had the opportunity to decide that for ourselves. Also, I'm not paying for your staff to educate themselves. If I wanted to do that I would've gone to a charity gala. Beyond that we didn't order a bottle of wine that would be at high risk for being compromised... it was a $60 (not expensive or impressive by any means) of 2020 Willamette Valley Pinot... the argument didn't hold up. Again, the other sommeliers weren't acting like this. I eventually had to pull the manager aside to explain why this was unacceptable and she again looked at me like I was an idiot. I assure you this is not a standard practice at most nice restaurants, it's a practice that is highly outdated. The manager then asked me what she should do! Seriously? You can't figure that out? Her suggestion was we didn't pay for the wine. No, that's not what I said, though the offer was again condescending as if I had come in there planning on not paying for the wine we ordered. I was perfectly fine paying for the wine, but the principal of the matter is that the discussion should have never escalated to that point. The proper thing to do would have been to offer a full bottle in exchange for the bottle we were given with the glass of wine missing. After having to point all of this out to several other staff, it was eventually removed from the bill, but still not a proper recovery. Removing it from the bill was insulting; a bandaid on a clearly obvious bigger problem. I wish that the wine situation was the only thing that happened but it wasn't. Steak was over cooked, food was salty, asparagus was soggy and the support servers kept trying to take my food away while I was still eating it. And lastly, the rude male host who refused to give me my complimentary sparkling wine given to all guests upon going up to the restaurant because he didn't believe that I was actually going to the restaurant. After having to show my reservation and finally receipt after leaving, he reluctantly gave it to me and then followed me up the elevator to make sure I was actually going back to the restaurant. Are you serious? I have never been treated so poorly ever, and it is beyond sad that I'm still sitting here upset about this. I think the impact of injury comes from the notion that guests look forward to this experience and it's not cheap. They send approximately four reminders to dress appropriately and bring your A game for a nice experience and they serve you a C- evening that you pay tremendously for. For them to take that for granted in the service is insulting. Also, their staff was not even in the dress code. We literally saw a female server walking through the dining room with only the front half of her shirt, the back tiedwith strings and another one wearing combat boots. This place is all sorts of confused. You wouldn't invest in a Porsche only to drive off the lot and have the wheels fall off, why settle for what should have been a luxury experience turned substandard? Skip this place. They don't understand the concept of hospitality.
Be the first to ReplyCelebrated my anniversary with my boyfriend here tonight.
Everything was great until we tried to ask a worker or security(idk) to take a picture of us on the stairwell when he literally shooed us and told us to move. He was so rude and aggressive about it my boyfriend asked if there was a problem if we did something wrong. He had an extremely condescending tone which just made us leave without taking a picture. Completely ruined the vibe of our evening and overall experience

Be the first to ReplyWent for the first time and it was a good culinary
Went for the first time and it was a good culinary excursion. On the 49th floor over looking SouthEast Dallas, the view is awesome. Ordering wine they have a sommelier, who was very helpful. Appetizers were great, particularly the oysters. And the entrรฉes were on point also. Dallas is a good city for restaurant adventures for foodies and Monarch, should be a stop for everyone.
