Moon Rabbit DC Washington Reviews from The Last Year
The best dessert I have ever had.
We also tried the chicken which is a customer favorite. This restaurant is Michelin recommended if you have the guide. It's been a while since i visited but I loved the restaurant especially sitting at the bar you see the detail and effort the staff makes for the experience.
Seated at a nice table despite eating by myself.
Appetizer tartare was amazing. Elegant presentation. Delicious. My main course was vegetarian roasted cabbage and tasty but in no way Vietnamese or even Asian in derivation. Quite spicy. Ordered mousse for dessert and I swear that some of those crunchy bits were sugar smacks (yes, the cereal). Service was attentive (unlike some other reviewers report). Atmosphere was quite pleasant-not overly loud which I appreciated. Enjoyable meal!

On one hand , the rice porridge was the worst porridge imaginable. Forest floor type beat tasting porridge. One the other , the best juiciest meat ever!! The banh hoi dish with all the different meats got ATE. That's the best pork I've ever eaten on god.
Food: Delicious modern Vietnamese fare Service: Friendly
Food: Delicious modern Vietnamese fare Service: Friendly with a smile Atmosphere: nice hotel restaurant steps always from the water Price: $$$ Fancy and Modern are two adjectives not typically associated with Vietnamese food but chef Kevin Tien pulls them both off at Moon Rabbit. I'm very sad to hear the news of their closing and really hope they can reopen soon. The beautiful restaurant is perfectly located right by the water. We haven't even started talking about the food yet! The delicious Nashville fusion catfish and the lemongrass pork were standout dishes.
Best on the Wharf! We've been coming to Moon Rabbit for
Best on the Wharf! We've been coming to Moon Rabbit for close to a year now, and it gets better and better. The head and pastry chefs continually change up the menu while keeping the dishes that are the most beloved/requested. The menu has such a unique blend of Vietnamese, Cajun/Creole and French that is full of flavor with innovative options that range from very flavorful to spicy. As foodies, we love the creative talent these chefs always deliver. The kitchen is attentive to food allergies which is important to us. We've seen the same 'celebrities' at different times which is always amusing and the space inside the Intercontinental Hotel is stunning. The view of the boats and watching people walk the wharf is also fun. There are outside tables as well which are right on the wharf. The servers and bartenders are always friendly and attentive and the drinks are creative. The desserts are amazing if you still have room, so we often share as they are too good to pass up totally. It's often hard to get in for dinner, so make reservations in advance if possible.
The place is comfortable, cozy and modern.
Food is good and nice place for lunch or dinner.
CLOSED! See article in the Washington Post.
They will be missed. Hopefully Chef will reopen a even better restaurant.
Excellent, creative food.
Great for sharing dishes. Excellent service. Waitress took really good care of us.

I came here for my birthday dinner last year and was blown away by flavor. Really superb craftsmanship and flavor profiles. Service was impeccable. I recommend eating a light salad with protein before going, in all honesty. It's an exquisite menu, but the portion sizes for the price point is unfortunate. You don't leave full. Adjust expectations and arrive at 50-60% full, and it would be a more enjoyable experience. Don't go hungry! It's just not that kind of place. Cocktails were 10/10.
Seriously such a treat! Loved the crawfish noodles,
Seriously such a treat! Loved the crawfish noodles, papaya salad, lemongrass chicken, lamb, and the shrimp and grits. The flavor was wonderful and complex for all the dishes. The flan was a perfect way to end meal, the custard smoothness and richness was spot on. Can't wait to be back!

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
