My family was in town and craved Italian food, so we went to Morandi after seeing a couple of good reviews. We had a reservation right when it opened in the evening and the place had a great atmosphere and amazing service. However, I was a little disappointed by the food. Most of them were bland and pretty mediocre. 1. Insalata di Cavolini di Bruxelles: It was refreshing and tasty, but nothing too special about this salad.2. Campanelle di Mare: I did really like the taste of the lemon breadcrumbs, but the saffron bell-shaped pasta was a bit too overcooked. 3. Linguine alle vongole: The pasta was a little bland, but had a lot of clams.

They are quick, attentive and accommodating. We came here with a group of four and they were excellent in serving us. Big fan of their cocktails and non alcoholic options. A fun way to keep everyone involved and included. We had the Bread Basket, Fritto Misto Di Pesce, Fried Calamari to start before the Tomahawk steak for dinner. This is large enough for about 3 people even tho the menu says two.

If you're looking for a place to celebrate a birthday in Greenwich, Morandi's is the solid place to go. We had a party of about 11 people and were seated in their outdoor dining. It was a bit busy and a Friday night, so understandably, the service was a bit slow. That being said, the atmosphere was lively and fun, fit for the occasion! I had the Pici al Limone for dinner, the serving size was generous. It was a solid pasta dish at an expected price for the location, and my party was equally satiated by the various other pasta choices on the menu. Overall, it's a decent spot for a birthday dinner in a very fun neighborhood.
Be the first to ReplyFood was in generally mediocre.
The best dish was the steak: cooked perfect.Scallop Agnoloti, Burrata and Fried Artichoke were pretty good.Mafalde was not great, bland, flavorless.Sea Bream was a bit overcooked, and smelled little fishy.
Be the first to ReplyWe came here for the 3rd time.
We like everything we ordered. The mushroom brochetas and squid ink pasta were really really good.

Awesome vibe , great bar and the design is awesome. Our waiter tonight was awesome, really attentive and helpful. He always ensured our dinner was perfect. A group of us started with the mushroom focaccia, the margarita, salads, frito mixto, and more . All was done well and perfect. Pastas were great from a pumpkin ravioli to the Pasta a limon. Really great cocktails and a tiramisu that was superb. Delicious
Be the first to ReplyWe just had yet another wonderful dinner there.
The service, ambiance, and food are always exceptional. One of the best. Our favorite.
Be the first to ReplyThe staff was friendly and the place is very pretty, but
The staff was friendly and the place is very pretty, but charm can only get you so far. They seating arrangement felt like a cluttered soup pantry. While I get a busy restaurant on a Saturday tries to maximize real estate we were literally shoulder to shoulder with every guest in there. The food: We ordered the burrata and grapes add prosciutto, this was good. The burrata was interestingly holding form and buttery I liked it. For main I ordered the linguine vongole. This was just sad. It came out looking like the saddest bowl of wet pasta I'd ever seen. I'd worked at Il mulino and Il falco and cook clam pasta at home often. For an almost $30 bowl of pasta it should be shining vibrant and colorful. This bowl was grey. The "sauce" tasted like they used three week old chicken stock and thickened it with a cornstarch slurry. Two of the tiniest slivers of parsley and one crushed red pepper flake seemed to drown in the sauce. My partner order the caccio e pepe which it is what it is. Don't expect to reinvent the wheel with this one. I'd never been here before, And unfortunately never will again. A little lemon white wine and flat leaf parsley go a hell of a long way.By the way this is my first time ever coming on yelp to leave a review if that counts for anything.
Be the first to ReplyMain reason to come back here is the ambiance.
The vibes are great its dark cozy and romantic. The service was alright - we had someone at the table with a few allergies and she seemed like they were a burden to keep up with. She was a little snappy and rushed. The food was alright. Was it the best italian ive had in new york? No. Far from it. Was it good enough to eat again? Sure but this wont be my first choice.
Be the first to ReplyWent back here last weekend for the first time in years.
I made a resy on OpenTable and there was a lot of availability but once we got to the restaurant it was completely packed. Great atmosphere here, felt very homey but elevated at the same time. The service was quick, we had the lemon spaghetti, cacio e pepe, and margarita pizza. All were so good. We are for about an hour and half. We were also pretty full at the end of our meal. No complaints and throughly enjoyed!
Be the first to ReplyWe go annually for the Christmas dinner of seven fishes.
Except there were only five fishes this time. Obviously it would be super crowded and hectic. I think they did their best. The staff is always nice and the food is always good. I highly recommend the stuffed olives every time
Be the first to ReplyReally delicious food and great service.

Read many reviews that this is not the place to come if you're looking for a quiet dinner. So true! Nothing negative, just want to state the facts. When I arrived around 6:30pm, it was still relatively quiet. The low-beam, all wooden interior immediately gives off a very cozy and warm vibe. I do want to say that the tables are quite close together, so if you want some privacy regarding your conversations, Morandi might not be the spot. Definitely as the night went on, the noise level got louder and louder, and my friend and I found ourselves speaking louder too just to hear each other, despite being less than 1m across. For 2, we ordered the burrata to start, agnolotti di capesante and linguine alle vongole for mains. Though two pastas sound like a lot, the dishes were great in portion - the bowls are rather small but perfect for sharing so you can try multiple pastas. Perhaps next time I would try to be seated outside if the weather is still nice!
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is awesome! A total Italy feel.
We've been craving going back across the pond. We pass this place all the time and finally came here. Lasagna was the special tonight, which was amazing!! The chocolate hazelnut cake with hazelnut gelato was authentic Italian! Lidia (also authentic Italian) was a great server!! Definitely another authentic Italian find in our awesome city!!

Came here for my boyfriends birthday dinner after hearing about great positive reviews + that it's apparently a fav spot of celebs like maya rudolph and SJP. it was a cozy, crowded, a little bit loud environment that had great service, delicious italian food, and normal/italian sized portions. it was a bit hard to hear each other at times because it was so loud and everyone was seated about 1-2 feet close to each other (felt packed) but overall good experience.
Be the first to ReplyFuck this place.
Rushed our table out on Gay Pride Sunday. Not told upfront their was a "two hour" limit per table. After we paid and hung around to watch the March, we saw several tables that sat when we're seated still there. Worse yet, the food was tasteless. Very disappointing. Do better Morandi.

We wandered by at lunchtime and the outdoor seating looked so inviting and the food delicious so we decided to try it. So happy we did. We had to wait for outside bc we didn't have reservations so we walked around the neighborhood to Washington Square until she called us. We ordered light appetizers - the tartine of bean spread, tuna and pickled onion and the flatbread with salami and cheese. Both were excellent. The crispy toasted country bread had the bean dip spread on it, flaked chunks of tuna (I'm assuming from Italy bc it wasn't like tuna from a can we get here) and the house pickled onion was the perfect foil for the richness of the rest of it. Three giant pieces. The flatbread was crispy and had the right touch of flavors - better than a pizza. The waiter was very attentive, the receptionist went out of her way to apologize for our wait which was no problem at all. Gavi wine is hard to find so I was delighted to find it on the menu here. We will go back for a heartier lunch next time bc everything looked fabulous.

Yesterday was my birthday and I really just wanted to chill and have a solo lunch in the village. I had the best experience here. Everyone was so nice and the food was great. The fried artichokes were my favorite thing, I will def be back for these and the Prosecco and St Germain cocktail that the waitress recommended was perfect on a summer afternoon. I also had a salad and hand rolled pasta that were also great

Hearing about this trendy, rustic Italian restaurant in the West Village, we knew we had to check it out. We were able to snag a reservation on a Saturday night. As we arrived it was clearly the place to be! I had read that it is loud here and that is certainly true but it almost got in with the atmosphere. This looked like a place that should be alive and that it was! We were seated right away and well taken care of by our server. We also appreciated the portions. While we got plenty of food, the portions weren't so overwhelming that we we full just by looking at the food. Being on vacation we weren't able to take leftovers so we loved the slightly smaller portions. It was a great experience and a place we will definitely revisit next time!
Be the first to ReplyMade reservations for a work dinner.
The drinks and appetizers were delicious - highly recommend the octopus and burrata. I ordered the pea risotto and the peas were too heavy and made the dish completely pea oriented - didn't feel like there were mushrooms. The risotto was also cooked too quickly and hard. Tiramisu was delicious!
Be the first to ReplyFriendly and wonderful service.
Meatballs were delicious and the pan roasted cod entree was also delicious. Very tasty appetizers, we had margherita pizza and D'indivia salads. We will definitely goback and recommend.
Be the first to ReplyI finally tried Morandi this weekend, but it did not live
I finally tried Morandi this weekend, but it did not live up to my expectations. Four of us went for a friend's birthday. The place was packed to the point of being uncomfortable. We were seated right next to a prep station, which further enhanced the claustrophobic feeling. The servers were nice, but the entire evening was rushed. The food came out way too quickly and to be honest it wasn't impressive. We opted to leave rather than stay for dessert so we could escape the chaos!
Be the first to ReplyTonight was my friends birthday.
ย I ordered food as he eats early. ย Aftert 7. I realized. I totally messed up the on line order and it never went through. ย I reordered and it was not to be delivered till after 815. ย I decided to call Morandi and ask if they could help get the order to me faster. Not only were they beyond lovely the order came in 30 minutes. ย Not only did they make his night the food was beyond delicious. ย Fresh, steaming hot and every single item a huge hit. ย Calamari like no other - clams and pasta delicious -salmon cooked to perfection- chicken tender and spicy. In this automated age where no one wants to answer a phone- everyone wants to text or e-mail only. It was a lovely surprise to have such a kind response and to have such ย attentive assistance Thank you all this fabulous Restaursnt!!Ellie
Be the first to ReplyIf I could give a place 10 stars I would to Morandi.
Definitely recommend a reservation, but the wait is worth it. The food was outstanding, drinks were just as good. Our waitress was lovely and her recommendations proved to be true. For starters we shared the Calamari Fritti and the peppers. They are known for their Cacio E Pepe, and not only was it divine, but their pasta portions are on the larger side.
