Nice Meal - Prices Reasonable
Nice Sushi - Menu could do with having pictures though - We weren't sure what anything looked like until it arrived. Prices reasonable but more expensive than Itsu. Nice service.
Be the first to ReplyVery good service and food quality.
Visited on a Thursday evening, the restaurant was fairly busy, inside Liverpool Street station and convenient if you are staying nearby, restaurant is nicely set out and good design.
Service was very good with the waitress helloing with suggestions and food was served quickly and was of good quality with a decent selection of both Sushi and cooked dishes and prices were very reasonable, would thoroughly recommend eating here and will be back next time I am in the area.
Perhaps it was an off day?
This place is a real disappointment. A very limited selection of plates on the sushi train. No sashimi plates on the sushi train at all. And the urimaki rolls are rasor-thin - for example, 2 very thin salmon and avocado urimaki for £3.50. Absurdly poor value when compared to the generous portions for the same price at Kulu Kulu (for example), and even compared to pricier joints like Youmi at Selfridges. And why put wasabi in the Nigiri when you can add it if you want it? If you don't want wasabi, you're stuck. Any Youmi place is better than this.

Very fresh delicious sushi. The staff were very helpful when I had a train to catch and let me take leftovers away in a nice box. I will visit again!
Be the first to ReplyIngredients are ok but execution is bad.
I went with a friend and we went for a set menu where we had sashimi, miso soup, salad and a main of sushi. The sashimi was pretty good actually. The miso soup and salad are pretty standard stuff nothing special. The reason I am rating this so low is that you can't call yourself a sushi restaurant when the sushi is that bad. The rice is off, it doesn't have the right taste, maybe a lack of vinegar. I think the restaurant commits to locally sourced fish but since the rice is already off, it tastes completely un-Japanese.
To be fair to the restaurant, the location is gorgeous overlooking the station and the service is decent but if you've ever had sushi in Asia, don't order the sushi here.
Excellent Sushi, Charming Ambience
I must have passed this restaurant located on the mezzanine floor of Liverpool Street station numerous times over the past 4 years since my discovery, always admiring the impressive oval wooden seating area that appears to be levitating on top of a bed of white pebbles. And after putting it on mental checklist of 'I must try this place someday' I finally dined in here today, mainly because it was raining and we didn't want to step out of the station. Plus they are taking part in the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. And after going through our substantial meal of edamame beans, miso Soup, sushi platters, chicken Teriyaki, rice & pickles, I did regret not eating here sooner. I have really craved Japanese cuisine during lockdown, unable to recreate the authentic flavours at home. And this place hit all the right notes, taking it's place in my top 3 Japanese restaurants in London.I was pleasantly surprised by the quality & freshness of the food including their strong environmental stance. Some people might find the food pricy but I have personally feel that this place offers value for money given the high quality of ingredients. I also discovered today that this restaurant has been around since 1994 & was the 1st of its kind to have Japanese food on a conveyor belt. It has truly stood the test of time. Plus I was amazed at how spacious it really is on the inside. I almost forgot that I was dining inside a station! If you enjoy good Japanese food and care about ethical/sustainable farming, then this place is for you.
Service on the other hand was average and the servers could have been a little more attentive. And this why I gave my review a 4 star.
Great option for train station dining
My first sushi experience and didn’t disappoint! Pricey, but 10/10 for food, drinks and service. At Liverpool Street train station but doesn’t detract from the restaurant experience ...
Be the first to ReplyExcellent value Japanese food
Smart it isn’t but the quality and value of the food more than makes up for drab surroundings on the mezzanine floor above London Liverpool Station.
If you sit at the counter you can select individual dishes under bubble domes from the conveyer belt, price determined by the colour of the plate. You can watch the dishes being meticulously prepared.
There is also a menu of cold and hot dishes from the kitchen.
The Nasu Dengaku, baked aubergine with miso paste, was unctuous. My soft shell crab tempura was generous in size, a perfect balance of crisp on the outside, soft and delicious on the inside.
First time customer
Never been to this restaurant before and after reading the reviews on Google, I decided to try it as I absolutely love sushi - though we all know not all Japanese restaurants in the UK do it right nor their ingredients are fresh etc.
They offer a variety of seafood, fish, sushi and sashimi, which are at a reasonable price for their quality. I was so surprise/happy to see they offer uni sea urchin sushi (a set of 2 for £8), not all sushi places do uni but Moshi Moshi does it perfectly, tasted fresh and full of flavour!! I had to order another set before I got the bill - the staff Emily was very kindly to specially request the chef to make it right away, so that I had enough time to catch the train! Her kindness had fortunately made my day, and I will definitely return more often now I found this gem! Although I found the Salman roe a bit salty, the scallops were so tender and the portion of rice underneath was perfect!! Ahhhh, why couldn't I discover Moshi Moshi earlier!
Hidden gem!
Awesome! Went there tonight - Moshi Moshi was my friend’s choice and she was so right!
Lovely interior, just above the railway lines. The service was not too rushed which was great as we didn’t want to feel like in a fast food restaurant. The food was lovely. I had a set menu with sashimi, chicken teriyaki and miso soup. This was followed by a dessert platter. Everything was really yummy. We will be back!
