Long wait for drinks the first round but very worth it.
Super cool unique place and I am so glad we stopped by. Definitely recommend making reservations though because the space was pretty small and had over a 2 hour wait by the time we left.
Be the first to ReplyI loved this place.
Loved it! The entire process was painless - book a reservation online in less than a minute, show up 10 min before reservation, bam seated. My visit was alcohol only but each drink i tasted was amazing. Even the non alcoholic "Tracking Device" was insanely good! I really was blown away by it. If you love thai food that is heavy on coconut youre going to love that drink. 12/10. It surpassed my mindkiller and that was great. This bar experience has its own unique soundtrack playing. A very talented musician created an original soundtrack that plays inside at all times. Its not groundbreaking by any means, by the effort behind it really just ties the entire experience together beyond visual aesthetics. But for the love of the cosmos, PLEASE turn it down by 15 percent. It was just too loud for our table. We were seated directly underneath a speaker Solution: add 2 more speakers to ensure each quadrant of the interior is covered without the need for blasting the audio. This would be a one time investment and drastically enhance the experience. I have an earache as i type this....
Be the first to ReplyFun and inventive.
The drinks and food is all crafted with care and feature fun flavors. They definitely stick to the 90 minute limit, which should be enough time since it's drinks and light bites. However, you should come in knowing what you're going to order first so you can take advantage of all your time. Since we were still checking out the menu it took about 30 minutes for our first round so we only had time for 2 drinks each. Not the worst problem, but something to pay attention to in the future. I liked how the menu showed the drink strength to expect as well. The moment you're inside, and pure transported to another world. Loved it!

The founder definitely put thought into every aspect of this place. From the starry ceiling, to menus, even the bathroom was well thought out and on theme. As the dd of the group, I was impressed with the variety of the mocktail selection, the innovative tapas style food options, and the themed ambiance. Service was decent and not too intrusive.

We came in at the earliest reservation time they had and it was really cool because we were able to take videos of the place. The waitress explained us the menu and offered us help if we had any questions. I loved how they had a a bar of how much alcohol each one has. I enjoyed every single drink I had.. I prefer sweet so the away mission and star rider where perfect for me. There's a time limit too I think of 1.5 or 2 I think so yeah! The food based on what people mentioned is okay not the best.. they come in small portions so that's all I know. The ambience was beautiful they had neon lighting and it looked tropical.. the music is not too loud so it's very calming.
Be the first to ReplyGreat drinks (expensive) but worth it.
Such a cool, fun theme inside and definitely worth the experience. Make sure to have a reservation.

Sick bar!!! Definitely a must visit at least once! The drinks are sooo pretty and creative. Big focus on RUM just an fyi. Some of the drinks and super strong but the dilute over time with the amount of ice in the drink. Service is alright not the best tbh. Ambiance is unlike no other. This makes the place special.

This would've been a 5 star review if they only had a working phone number :( I just feel like if you're gonna charge for a no show reservation, you need to have a working phone number where I can actually talk to a human and say that I'm running late. It's very frustrating to be stressed about time, scour the internet to barely find contact info and the only phone number you do actually find only has a prerecorded message about the lore of your bar. So unhelpful and honestly kind of souring as an experience. Other than that, yeah cool bar! Its a space tiki bar, and it's Disneyland level of detail. The cocktails were yummy! I liked the away mission, but the gin cocktail was kind of boring. Cool bathroom but the soap wasn't working ewwww. Also wasn't as packed as I expected it to be on a Saturday night, so if you don't have a reservation, there's hope for a walk in!

The ambiance is fun and cool to do once! Maybe I don't have an elevated enough palate but I didn't like the food, it's space themed and very... experimental? Same for the drinks, I'm sure a lot of folk would like the flavors so I still rate this place well but definitely more geared towards people who like unexpected flavors. My husband loved the food and drinks!

The drinks are so good! I got the mule and it was just the right amount of strong (coming from a lightweight, but they have a variety of choices). The drinks are aesthetic and fit the vibe, great to come here on a double date or with friends.
Be the first to ReplyMothership was a cool vibe.
It was right on track with how it's advertised. We didn't have a reservation - we got there right when it opened. We had a party of three - I believe our wait was around an hour. This place is decorated head to toe in space theme. I loved the creativity. The drinks were all tiki type, but really good. I would totally recommend checking it out - memorable and unique experience.

Food is super delicious 10/10, but I wish there was a different alcoholic beverage selection, but thats just me. Definitely recommend the experience overall.
Be the first to ReplyWow, I am stunned that Mothership only has a flat 4-stars.
It really should get five for uniqueness and theming alone, but as they say, there's no acocunting for taste. I've been there three times now, and it has been stellar (pun definitely intended) every single time.To begin with, you just have to respect the audacity of building out an immersive space-themed business that serves tiki drinks and vegan food, on the off chance that such a bizarre combination would work, which it somehow does. One way of thinking about it is: if Meow Wolf opened a stand alone restaurant, it would look like this. The "space cave" interior looks straight out of a Stars Wars movie, but from one that hasn't been made yet, i.e., this is no copy or homage. I absolutely love when a place transports you into a completely different and immersive experience, and Mothership does that in spades. Everything from floor to ceiling, bar to bathroom captures the essence of some lost planet environment. That said, I also appreciate that the theme stops with the decor, as it would have been tempting to have the staff pretend to play roles within this space environment. Fortunately, Mothership was smart enough to know that servers are better as servers than cast members, so there are no awkward cheesy encounters that you'll find at "true" themed restaurants, the type usually accompanied by a poor server turned bad actor whose face screams out "I'm going to kill myself if I have to keep this up for one more day." As a result, the service has been nothing but enjoyable and spot on.As for the drinks, they are creative, attractive, and fantastic. As dressed up tiki drinks, it would have been easy to make them more Instagram than palate friendly, but they succeed in being both. Personally, I'm partial to the Mind Bender, which earns their "Ludicrous Speed" label for being among the bar's strongest. But honestly, every drink that I've tried there has been at least pretty good, and mostly, quite excellent. Even the "Cruising Speed" (the weakest alcohol designation) gin-based Saturn was truly delicious. As for the food, it is equally creative, and aside from miss or two, e.g., the oddly textured "Rice" dish, it has been pretty damn good. (SIde note: One funny quirk of Mothership is that, in spite of the intense creativity surrounding every detail of the place, the dishes have the most basic names possible -- "Potato", "Bread", "Rice", "Noodle", etc. I suppose the purposeful lack of creativity is really just more of that intensive creativity! These plates are definitely designed for sharing, so order a few things to try as much as you can... or you can be like us on my last trip and order one of everyting! My favorite is probably the Noodle, although the Potato and Pancake are also great. They also have a few seasonal dishes, and the Bread is definitely worth ordering if its available. Finally, you absolutely have to order some soft serve at the end. The flavors rotate, but they have been wonderful every time.Anyway, that's Mothership for you. I highly recommend the experience, although fair warning that it's definitely best to have a reservation, unless you're going at an off hour and only for drinks at the bar. Also, make sure you use the bathroom while you're there -- you'll see why once you're there. Godspeed.

We managed to get a reservation after months of trying to get one. To make a reservation, you do have to pay $5 per person. You are refunded you when you show up to your reservation. I had made two reservations, one for a group of 4, and one for myself and my girlfriend. We did go to our group reservation, but when I wanted to cancel my reservation for myself and my girlfriend, I couldn't. It says on their website that you can cancel your reservation 24 hours before your reservation. When I go to manage my reservation it now states that reservations are non-refundable. I sent an email saying that I wanted to cancel the reservation and never heard back. I tried making a phone call and no one picks up. It's only $10 for the reservation, but to state two different things before and after making these reservations is very misleading. We were seated at our table right away and the room looks amazing. The ceiling has these lights that look like stars and really make it feeling like you're out in space. The drinks were well put together but they are mostly rum drinks. The food is all vegan, we were aware of that before going, but they are small plates. We ordered the "Potato" dish, we did enjoy it but left us wanting more food.90 minutes to sit down and drink isn't very long. Reservations are booked out for weeks so you will have to wait awhile to find the right day you're looking for.Overall we did have a nice experience, but this location is overpriced and overhyped.

Mothership keeps true to it's space theme and they've really blown up on social media. Some people will say it's all hype but I actually really enjoyed my time here and had some excellent service. 90-min reservations fill up fast so you have to be really on top of it. They open 21 days in advance at 10AM and only allow parties of 2-6 people. Parking here is terrible so I highly recommend coming earlier to give yourself time. Because they allow walk-ins, they'll give your spot up if you're really late. We had to circle around a couple of times and ended up parking in the residential area a couple of blocks away. I originally thought it was a speakeasy but there's nothing hidden about this place. The windows are blacked out so people outside can't see in. Once you step in though, it's like a whole new world. The ceiling has lights that look like a starry sky and every once in awhile, you'll see a shooting star. Everything else looks like a mix of alien tech, spaceships, or alien flora. Drinks are categorized by a alcohol strength meter on the top of the page. Ludicrous Speed is the highest alcohol content and if you don't want alcohol, there are zero proof drinks. Food is tapas-style so expect small portions and share with the table. If you had to get only one thing, get the Potato. It comes with 5, triangular-shaped pieces of deep-fried deliciousness, sitting on a bed of kimchi cream cheese. We were cleaning the plate and ordered a second one because of how much we enjoyed it. Another dish that I enjoyed, surprisingly, was the Tofu. It kind of has this consistency like meatloaf but there was so much flavor mashed into it. Because our server forgot some orders, she profusely apologized and offered soft serve on the house. She explained that the chef would make small batches of different flavors and once they're out, he would make something completely brand new. At the time of visit, we had Jamaica Mango Lemonade and Pineapple Maple Cashew. Highly recommend if you get the chance!

My wife and daughters took me for my birthday and we some amazing food plus drinks. We totally recommend it to whoever loves vegan food plus some great tasting drink!!!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe drinks are amazing.
Do NOT get the "Rice" dish. Potato dish is great. The rice dish taste like something my roommate would make and it's not that good. Plus I can't believe they charge $19 for a handful of tteokbokki with a meh sauce... not worth the money paid...

Randomly came on a Tuesday night for drinks! The atmosphere was awesome, fans of Star Trek will definitely get a kick out of it. Drinks were tasty, but a little pricey.

We had a great time at Mothership! For context, as a party of 4 we arrived around 8pm with no reservations on a Friday night. So we had low expectations on getting in, but the host was incredibly nice and got us into the bar area in less than 30 minutes! Very quick for how bustling this place was.We all loved our drinks, and the menu was very cool in showing how strong each drink was (so you can see what you're getting into). Each cocktail was in the $15-$18 range, so not too bad for a concept bar like this. You can't get food at the bar, so we'd love to come back with a reservation next time and try some of their options.Overall I'd definitely recommend Mothership for a cool night out to grab some drinks and hangout with friends!

It's a cool place! Everything was new vibe for me! Bit of a price in the drink but good place to hang and talks. It can be crowed as people said but I came during rain so it's mot bad. Had to wait a little for seats. The music but weird! I would give it a 4 because it's not like the best on drink. It's more the environment.

Wow! Mothership exceeded expectations! All the drinks we had were amazing. The decor was very creative, realistic and fun. Robert was an excellent server- can't wait to come back.

This was a long-awaited opening, and did not disappoint! The ambience is great - you really feel transported to another planet with so many fun details and moody lighting, and a soundtrack so cool we had to buy it.The staff is super friendly (shout out to the sweetest host working the door), and the drinks are creative and delicious (lots of unique ingredients and on-theme garnishes). We didn't get to try the food (yet - we will absolutely be coming back until I've tried the entire menu) because they stop serving food around 9:30pm and that's when we got there. We didn't have a reservation because they filled up quickly, but they do accept walk-ins. I should note we came by around 7:30pm to see if they'd have an opening at 9:30pm and they did, so I recommend coming by and checking in early (probably best just before they open if you want food, or after 9:30pm for just drinks). I saw on their Instagram that they will also be opening up more reservations soon.So excited to come back for more!

This is what the neighborhood needed! We stopped in the check on the new bar on the block and it did not disappoint. The staff working the door made it a point too make us feel welcomed and well educated on the new establishment. Other than the drinks tasting so good (thank you to the amazing bar tenders!) what stood out to me was how much attention to detail went into this place. From the straws that they use, to the bathroom design and also having non-alcoholic drinks displayed openly on their menus! I am truly blown away and can not wait to come back.
Be the first to ReplyThe ownership of Kindred did an impressive job transforming
The ownership of Kindred did an impressive job transforming a former Mexican cantina into a cave-like bar and lounge with an outer space theme. Reservations are highly recommended for this new plant-based speakeasy in South Park. When I arrived 15 minutes before the opening time as a walk-in on their first weekend, there were already 10 people in line. A few parties had each booked a table and were seated first. The hostess then used a tablet to begin assigning walk-ins to empty spots at the bar or a table.About a dozen chairs were in the bar area which looked cramped with people standing around those who were seated. The lounge space could hold around 40 diners. The dark interior with rotating colored neon lights made you feel like you were inside a science fictional spaceship parked in an underground cavern. The "experience" as the server called it lasted 90 minutes before they ask you to close your check so the next wave of customers can be seated. The menu booklet was divided into four tabs... Cocktails, Beverages, Food, and Regalia. A table next to me was rather hardcore as they bought several pieces of merchandise from the Regalia. I picked one of the three Zero Proof selections (Homing Beacon) as my drink from the Beverages section. Coconut water, coconut cream, lime, and hibiscus were the ingredients. The balance between the zest of the lime and the cream of the coconut was perfect. The Homing Beacon was a good palate cleanser for my food picks.Five plates and one seasonal preparation were available as food (all vegan). The two that I chose were the Noodle and Tofu. The first plate had a small Hong Kong Noodle Cake as a base with laksa broth, yellow curry tofu, grilled gai lan, roasted pineapple, and toasted rice powder. The spiciness of the curry tofu was just right for me. The gai lan and roasted pineapple provided a contrast to the lemongrass and ginger flavors from the broth. The second plate was made up of otak tofu with tomato saffron sambal, Vietnamese fish sauce (nuoc cham), crispy shallot, and lime sitting on a banana leaf. I had never tasted this type of tofu before which used soy pulp (okara) and rice flour as the base. The bright red sambal was served on the side and looked fiery, but it was very mild. As firm tofu, I found this version to be unusual as the texture reminded me of a yam. These were small plates so don't expect a hefty serving size for the price. It would be best to order multiple selections and split them with a group. The kitchen did take a while to prepare the food. I am uncertain if this was done on purpose to pace a party through the hour and a half experience or if it was just because they were still learning to improve the efficiency of making the plates. It's worth coming to this spot at least once even if it means just getting out of the heat and sitting in a darkened, air-conditioned space while sipping, noshing, and socializing with friends.
Be the first to ReplyWas really looking forward to checking this place out, but
Was really looking forward to checking this place out, but it didn't work out. We went 30 mins before they opened, stood in line, and were ready to enjoy somefabulous tiki drinks. Upon entry we were told it was standing room only if we wouldn't commit to eating dinner. Who wants dinner at 4:30? No thanks. Standing behind the people at the bar is just not the relaxing vibe we envisioned. We were hoping to get a round ortwo and see where the evening took us. It's probably a cool place, but I don't recommend going without reservations. Seems like they are necessary to get a table.
