Crowded and small for tall people!
It's worth the wait for your reserved table because the food is fantastic! We had Grant as our waiter and he was always there to bring another glass of wine or another course.

We just loved this restaurant! It has so much character and charm. Set on a gorgeous street, this place just feels like NYC magic. We had the shrimp cocktail and burrata to start and then I had the salmon for my main. It was heaven. The cocktails are strong but delicious and the service was top notch. You are also served home made complimentary biscuits with this sweet butter that was pretty life changing. Definitely make a reservation as this place gets really busy. Loved it.
Be the first to ReplyGood food but extremely over-over-priced
Had dinner with a friend during my last week's trip to NY. It was a very nice evening so we were on the outdoor tables. Setting is nice, service is very good, food is fine, but the price level is difficult to understand and hence to match with the quality of food. This is mainly because by no means is fine dining. Just a good restaurant, with good and tasty food but priced at the level of a Michelin-star one. I had an asparragus starter withe a chicken pie and my friend oysters with risotto as main. Again, nice food but quite basic and overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyTrump was right. It is awful.
The menu bragged that Trump said it was the worst place to eat in the City. This may be good marketing but Trump may also have been right. The meal was extremely overpriced and tasteless. The host was the usual pretentious obnoxious type. The wait re was good but it didn’t make up for feeling stupid at being ripped off. It’s obviously making a lot of money for someone and they’re most likely living somewhere else.
Be the first to ReplyThe room(s) themselves are the only reason to visit
Wines are freaking overpriced Service seemed rushed but fine overall Rooms are beautifully decorated and historical
Be the first to ReplyGood Atmosphere Decent Food Really Expensive Price
Came here for Sunday brunch and was seated near the bar area. Services were good, very professional. Staffs are friendly, despite the frantic pace they are under. Food was good in both quality and portion size, but not so sure it matches the price tag. If you are able to get to sit in the courtyard, it is just wonderful.
Be the first to ReplyNice place to kick back in NYC
Ambience was great very cosy with a hip atmosphere. Would have been 5 stars but the amish chicken isn't what it used to be, however the chicken pot pie was good.
Be the first to ReplyA New York Classic and absolute must.
Love love love The Waverly. We had a great meal... splitting the wedge salad, the gnocchi, the shishito peppers, and the chicken pot pie (a random but awesome selection). I love how well The Waverly does luxurious comfort food (the mac & cheese is also excellent). Always a fun, bustling scene and you are bound to spot a celebrity or two!
Be the first to ReplyGood place in the West Village
PROS Atmosphere and place are unique to spend a night in the West Village Food is good and there is a pretty good cocktail list Price is aligned CONS Service might speed up a bit
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful garden, food was ordinary and extremely overpriced
We had requested a specific table and was bounced at the last minute because the owner wanted to use the table. okay. we ordered a few of the specials and they were much more expensive than the other dishes on the menu. our fault, we should have asked. but did not expect $85 macaroni and cheeses, we ordered three as sides dishes. our own fault. but they weren't very good, neither was the special soft shell crabs or the lamb chops. service was good. but we felt ripped off for $1200 for seven people.

We had a wonderful time here. The host & server were great. We requested an indoor table & we seated at a cozy table next to the roaring fire with views of the murals. Food was excellent- foie gras special & burrata apps, mushroom risotto & their classic chicken pot pie, chocolate pots de creme for dessert. Cocktails & wine great too. Not cheap, but an excellent overall experience. Will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyWaverly Inn - Mediocre Service not a match for pricepoint
As a West Village resident, we tried the Waverly Inn a couple months back and decided to return with some friends again for Sat evening dinner. The area we were seated in had some puddles below however the overhead heaters were very much appreciated (though they went off a third of the way through the dinner but were restored pretty quickly). The waiter was delayed in greeting our entire party and when he did, came across as somewhat rude and almost put upon... not exactly the hospitality gene one would expect. The cocktails we ordered were mediocre and frankly tasted somewhat watered down. The food was delicious overall so compliments to the chef! The wait staff did not properly clear the appetizers and re-set for dinner service before the dinners hastily appeared at the table. The waiter did check back to ask how everything was and accommodated our requests. We felt rushed at the end as the check was dropped and the final signed bill was retrieved before we stepped away (felt like a diner vs a fine dining establishment). The host or manager we encountered who served us our drink was not particularly hospitable either. The service generally felt attitude laden, which we don’t mind as long as the service delivery matches the steep price point. when you drop more than $100 a head, you expect friendlier service and a better sense of feeling welcomed. To encourage repeat clientele, the service has to be refined some more and the staff should be more courteous and friendlier to the clientele. There are so many great restaurants in NYC — and even in the West Village — so each experience is a true moment of truth. We don’t intend to return anytime soon and not because the food isn’t good but because we didn’t feel as welcomed as we would expect.
