Asian Express Downtown has significantly improved its
Asian Express Downtown has significantly improved its ventilation over the years, enhancing the dining experience. They have decent quality and selection of food for their AYCE and lunch special, so I'd give them a 8.3/10. The best parts about Asian Express include: - Seafood selection for AYCE - Lunch special - Bringing what was actually ordered for AYCE

Over the years, me and my friends have went there a few times now for their lunch special everytime when we visit downtown. Their lunch special allows customers to choose 5 items time on the menu for a reasonable price. The portion is large as you can see from the picture.

Great hotpot place downtown by the shelter so not the greatest location but the food is always fantastic. Lamb, beef, pork and chicken slices were great, the soups are flavourful by the condiment station not regularly refilled (sauces were low, scallions ran out). Service is pretty quick though the incorrect quantitaties and items sometimes brought out. Ex) order 1 mash for the table, recieved 4.

I loved Asian express, it was very cost effective and really fun to sit with friends and try each other's soups. It's in a rough area of town but I wouldn't let that deter you from visiting. The inside is very nice. You also get some free ice cream after your meal which was great. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place!

Love the 63 Ave location, so decided to come here to see if it's any different. Had the lunch special which is 5 items for $15.95. I think the major difference is getting a free vegetable basket, which is great so you can load up on the other items. Was pretty stoked they put pumpkin slices in there. Love those! You still get a free ice cream dessert as well. They also offer the AYCE for lunch. I didn't check the price, but I'm sure it's the same as the other location ($30-$32). We had the bone broth and Thai curry broth. Both were flavourful and the curry had a good kick to it. So good! And I love the peanut butter paste! The peanut sauce at the 63 Ave is a bit watery compared to this one. The staff were also great and friendly. The only issue I have is that it's farther away for me... but you know, for the price, quality, and experience... I'll make the trek out for sure! Also, there's a bubble tea place right next door, if that's what you're into. PS. Don't mind the sketchy area... area seems a bit runned down, but you definitely won't notice once you start eating. This is the same for the other location coincidentally lol.

Love this place! The location is not the best but once you step inside you forget about the location. I love that you have your own individual hotpot. It's all you can eat for $35.... totally worth it! I had the Tom yum soup... so tasty and homemade with fresh ingredients. I would have to say it was hands down the best Tom Yum soup I have had. They also have so many options of food for your hot pot. ... from all the veggies you can think of to all the meat and seafood. At anytime you can add more. The staff was very helpful and were always checking back to see if we wanted to order more. Also with this meal you get free dessert. Sweet little buns dipped in condensed milk, ice cream and tapioca!

I'm drooling as I write this because I could go for some hot pot on this rainy day. Was my first time here on a Sunday and was it pretty busy! The lunch special is everyday from 12-4:00pm for $14.99. You pick your broth, 5 items from the menu and you get a small complimentary basket of vegetables AND a small scoop of ice cream after. Off to the side they had all the oils, sauces and toppings you could imagine, my only suggestion is that they monitor/keep it clean since it's high traffic spot. My spicy broth was soooo good, I picked broccoli, two types of beef, rice and mushrooms for my five items and off to town I went. For the price you really can't beat it.
