Came her to celebrate an occasion with my hubby.
It was such a lovely experience!First of all, the ambience was perfect with open air setting overlooking the pool, garden and ocean. We were greeted by lovely staff and felt welcomed as soon as we were seated. Our server Mike was the best part of our experience. He explained the specials and was so knowledgeable about the food they were serving. Mike obviously enjoys his job, he is pro active and polite. We had the seafood chowder which was served with lots of crab and Hawaiian fish. So perfect! Then we had crab cakes which had fresh crab taste served with tartar sauce and lovely lemon salad. The seared diver scallops was served with goat cheese tortellini (perfect combination) and the citrus butter sauce was just delectable! The strawberry cheesecake was ok.We were surprised by an anniversary dessert which was really sweet. Definitely recommend this restaurant. A bit pricey, but it's Maui. Good to have a treat once in a while. We'll be back!

I have my mom (who has many food sensitivities) and aunt and daughter and we enjoyed eating here twice while we were here. The food is wonderful because you get to taste the flavor of the food and enjoy the wholesomeness of what food should taste like, We really had such a great dinner experience with our server Cyrus (I hope I spelled his name right, who served on 2/17 around 6pmish) such a fun and enjoyable personality. He naturally made us all laugh. It's it's one of my joyful moments to spend with my family there. Thank you!

My brother would say this is the best food is ever eaten the rack of lamb is unbelievable. Of course the owner is Greek and says he knows how to cook lamb Always excellent always a treat to go here. They are amazing services always top notch they pay attention to every little detail.
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommended indeed.
Every entree on this menu is just damn right good and different.
Be the first to ReplyThis was a return visit from 2022.
I struggle to give it a 3. The seating and service was adequate. But food quality was well below what should be expected from a fish market restaurant. Rubbery Mahi Mahi- Overly sweet strawberry beet salad with goat cheese that was left out of the dish and served late. Good octopus. Average ahi. Again, not what you would expect for a seafood destination restaurant. But what really left a bad taste- and led to us cancelling a future reservation next week - was game playing with the bill. 'Kitchen surcharge' was a line item. Their words. On leaving I asked what it was for - it wasn't the $ that caught my eye- they said it was code for a mandatory tip for the kitchen staff. I like that the staff share in tips, really. But when you hide it people end up tipping on a bill that already had tips on it. Deceitful practice. At least be transparent what you charge. As a matter of principle I cancelled future reservations. Tipping on top of tips? Seriously? Fix this. And fix food quality. I hope that the manager Doug M responds to the last three reviews too. At this point I will drive to the Paia Fish Market and eat at a picnic table instead.

This setting was not what I had imagined when I heard "fish market," but the grounds blew me away! Before we were seated, we sampled some drinks and were not disappointed - the expresso martini and lava flow were favorites. Nick's served a four-course meal for my work team's celebration dinner. To start, we had crab cakes, seared bluefin tuna, and kalua pork dumplings. The Greek-style salad was so fresh! For entrees, I had to order the scallops with feta tortellini (decadent), but I heard great things from my table about the filet mignon, mahi mahi, and catch of the day. The strawberry panzini dessert might have been the most spectacular one I've seen in some time as the servers poured flames over the strawberries and chocolate.
Be the first to ReplyThis was truly one of the worst meals we had in Hawaii.
First zero attention to detail, 1/4 of the hanging lights were burnt out or missing. My wife's chicken was inedible. My ahi was fine, but no where near what you would expect for a 50+ plate.
Be the first to ReplyYou pay for scenery and it's beautiful.
We came for my dads birthday and they took good care of us, the octopus was exquisite very yummy.
Be the first to ReplyFood and service is terrific.
Not inexpensive but as good as it gets food wise. We usually go 2-3 times furor annual 5 week visit to Maui.

The shrimp scampi was ok the service was kind of slow and the shrimp was super salty and had almost no flavor except for garlic.Even though they were kind of slow the atmosphere was very nice and I could see myself coming back in the future.

So could be our luck, but we were seated in a booth that had a very musky smell, not only we could smell it the entire time, but it's also overpowered the aroma of food. To make matters worse, when we ordered appetizer with seafood chowder, we found paper inside of it. Waiter said that it must have been a receipt. They took it off the bill, but still isn't the nicer experience to chew paper. Lamb chops were suppose to be medium, but were deff more on the med rare side. Stake with potatoes was good but potatoes and veggies were pretty undercooked. Service was good. I think the kitchen is rushing too much...
Be the first to ReplyWent there yesterday.
This was one of our go to restaurants every time we come to Maui. Not anyone. First we had rsvp for 8:30 we called to see if we could get earlier they said 8:15. Got there at 8 and sat us right away. It did not look busy w/ plenty of open tables the minute we sat down we felt rushed. Busboys clearing tables taking off seat cushions ect Wife ordered lobster w/ loaded mac. Which tasted salty old n fishy mac was ok I ordered ribeye. Horrible tasted old n no flavor. 2/3 into our meal waiter finally shows back up wife told him it was not good he says "oh you should have said something " we would have had you came around Also it's not the nicks of old in Chicago when you order lobster and have to ask for butter n lemons He offered to comp a glass of wine I ordered. Wine selection was only good thing Totally felt rushed the whole timeThe last kicker we got a dessert to go as we didn't want to overstay as they were closing. This is a resort area they didn't give us utensils. Never again for that kind of money
Be the first to ReplyService exceptional.
The opakapaka was out of this world. View was quite disappointing
Be the first to ReplyA very pleasant surprise.
Great service, great food, and great location. The fish was fresh and the table side flambé strawberries was fun and delicious.
Be the first to ReplyThe last night in Maui deserved a great meal and we got one.
We had a late reservation and the wait was worth it!! The service was excellent and the food superb, especially the mahi-mahi. You do NOT have to leave the hotel is get a great meal, but book ahead.
Be the first to ReplyWent to Nicks.
It didn't measure up to pre Covid experiences. I'm going to blame Covid and try it again on my next trip. I have too many positive memories to give up now.
Be the first to ReplyVery happy to return to this restaurant after about 5 years.
The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating options. We sat outside and the view was amazing! We started off with some calamari. For the entree, I ordered the filet mignot and it was delicious! Would come here again!
Be the first to ReplyOur first dinner in Maui this year at Nicks.
First, service. On time and outstanding service by Chris on a number of fronts. The poke was tasty but wish they cut the tuna a bit smaller.Wine list good. We prefer white. The fresh opakapapala was terrific- maybe a minute overdone but the veg was not hammered as is often the case. Sauce wonderful. Last year was ok- this was better.

OMG! Best meal on Maui (and we had some other great ones too - kimo's, merrimans, etc)! We went for my dad's 70th birthday and the fish blew our minds. My dad and I both started "writing" Yelp reviews in our minds before the meal was even over. Ahi with mushroom risotto - phenomenalSpecial picatata style - super creative and cleverDesserts- panna cotta & macadamia chocolate brownie!Service - best on MauiCocktails - meh, kind of boring and corporate/sponsored drink list. Mai thai was great though!!A+!!!
Be the first to ReplyKinda Old School feel place, but we loved it.
Service was great; the food was delicious, and the drinks were good. Great wine menu, too. The starters we tried were the Kaluha Pork Potstickers ( I loved them, wife thought they were just thought okay ), and the Strawberry Beet Salad ( which they so nicely split for us and we both loved! ). Pesto is the magic component in the salad and dish is 100% recommended!!For entrees, we chose macadamia crusted mahi and scallips with ricotta tortellini. Both dishes were excellent!!Perfect place to dine in Wailea!!
Be the first to ReplyReservation at 4:30 just as they opened.
Bill, a very attentive waiter, guided us through the menu. We ordered the abalone/shrimp dish and lobster dish. We told Bill we were hesitant about the loaded Mac n cheese as part of the lobster dish and he offered an excellent substitution of mashed potatoes. We ordered the clam/fish chowder to split and were served an amazing amount of soup he termed "a cup" instead of the bowls we would have ordered! Cheesecake of the day and bananas foster desserts were also very good ... Bill as our waiter made the experience top notch! Thanks Bill!!!
