Great food, great service, very high-quality.
I love this place. The Pho is truly delicious, and the escargots are very good as well. The same goes for the rest of the menu

I was incredibly impressed by this restaurant, the food, the ambiance, the service - amazing! Our table had the Tuna Tartare, Steak Frites, both chicken options and the Braised Short Rib- no complaints from us! We also had the Apple Cobbler and Creme Brûlée - delicious. We will be back soon to try the Deviled Eggs and other specials! I would recommend this place to anyone- date night, dinner with the gals, meet the parents etc

The location isn't ideal and lacking a view of the ocean, but it's a great addition to the Malibu food scene. Also, I have a feeling lots of people like myself may assume it's a more casual restaurant/deli by the name and location, but it's actually quite high end.

Very nice place, happy and fun staff, great service and great views. The food is definitely overpriced, but as long as they can fill tables, good for them. At $30 the salmon is crazy priced. It was nicely cooked on the outside, but undercooked inside. In other words, high heat, too fast. The onion soup was delicious and had lots of goodies inside. Yet everybody at the table who had it, had to send it back for more heat. It came out barely above room temperature. Again, kudos to fabulous wait staff, but my first visit was my LAST. The prices are all WAY TOO HIGH. I can't see paying $18 for a quarter head of lettuce with some stuff sprinkled on it.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite restaurants in LA.
Family owned. Lovely staff (including the family members). Great attention to detail. Always feel welcomed. Warm ambiance. And most importantly, the food is outstanding. Highly recommend to all my friends...

These are the best soft scrambled eggs and omelette you will have in your entire life.
Be the first to ReplyI've eaten here several times for breakfast.
The food is yummy. Portions are generous. Service is great. When you're inside it's nice, but hard to hide that you're in a parking lot off of PCH. The parking lot and the cars streaming by is definitely part of the vibe. But inside is nice. There is a courtyard in back that is sweet. If the weather is nice, I suggest sitting outside. The scramble is yummy. The French toast is also good if you want dessert for breakfast. I'll keep going back here because there really aren't that many places in Malibu where you can get breakfast.
Be the first to ReplyWent there for Sunday brunch.
It was pretty full so we ate at the end of the counter. We could watch the chef prepare all the orders and also people watch the dining room. The food is great and healthy. The service is gracious. It's fast becoming my regular stop on my way to LA when I pass thru Malibu. Parking lot available.

Loveeee this amazing spot! I came here with family to celebrate my birthday after hearing nothing but fantastic reviews of the food & ownership. I work in the area and was so excited to finally check this place out. Me family and I left satisfied and FULL. These portions are no joke. I specifically recommend the lobster roll & fancy mushroom soup as you can never go wrong with those. It was all creamy, buttery and delicious. Definitely coming back ASAP! Thank you especially to Lucas and Chef!!!

My husband and I are from northern CA and came to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in Malibu. We looked at the menu online and read Yelp reviews before deciding to go to Nicolas Eatery. After being greeted inside the restaurant tonight (Sat. April 2nd), we did not have reservations, but we chose available seating at the counter as opposed to eating outside. The host suggested the corner which was fun to watch "behind the scenes." We ordered escargot, a burger, and a salad with lobster as well as a cocktail. Everything was so delicious! Our server was friendly and attentive. (Unfortunately, I don't know his name, but he was young, dark-haired and wore glasses.) He checked on us several times throughout our meal. The food and service we received were perfect! My husband and I both highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was really oily and greasy on top of being too salty. Not much of options to choose from.

Great venue and vibe for an adult style lunch when driving along the southern California coastline. The food in service was excellent. The only caveat would be no caffeinated drinks for those drivers needing to continue on. Otherwise, I recommend this great place wholeheartedly.
Be the first to ReplyYou need to eat here and I can't wait to come back! No joke.
A group of us wanted to go to another restaurant that was on the water. When we went to go park, the lot was full and the cars on PCH were going nuts over us but knowing what to do. During the chaos, I Googled restaurants near me and Nicolas pulled up 0.2 away. Magically we crossed all 4 lanes to pull into the parking lot. Okay, on to the food.Holy shit everything was incredible. Three of us had a gin cocktail with house made vanilla bean simple syrup and rosemary, we all had 2! Then we started passing around our plates for everyone to try. The lobster roll was great, the breakfast sandwich was dreamy, and the salmon eggs Benedict was incredible! You can tell they truly care about what they are doing here and it shows. The restaurant is very European where it doesn't take a large space to do something well. Everything was so good I feel bad I didn't take any pictures. Next time.

This was a last minute find that didn't disappoint! We enjoyed French onion soup, escargot, salad, halibut, steak and chicken. I'll definitely return for the halibut and to try other entrees. The wait staff was also very attentive and friendly.

The ambiance and service here is definitely five-stars, but the food for me fell short of the price point. I came here months ago for a celebratory dinner, but the steak and frites left me chewing on the meat and not really enjoying the meal. The french onion soup that I started with was delicious, but the steak was just so chewy (medium rare), that it was tough to enjoy the meal. For a chewy cut like that, I would have expected a little bit of citrus marinade to soften it up prior to being grilled/fried.All in all, if not for the disappointing steak, this definitely would have been more of a highlight. I enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the chefs cook; I'd definitely be open to giving this place another try, but will probably avoid ordering the steak unless this just happened to be a one-off experience and I got unlucky.
Be the first to ReplyBest french food in Malibu by far.
The service is amazing , everyone who works there is so kind and helpful. Their french onion soup is absolutely delicious. Escargot was amazing too. We had the burger and halibut for our main course and both were amazing. Can't wait to go back, I think we found our new go to restaurant.Great experience!!

We love Nicholas Eatery! Last time I went I ordered the quiche and it was delicious. I've ordered the lobster roll, farm roasted chicken and French onion soup and I would order all of them again. Great wine list as well. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing eatery, we stopped by on a Sunday afternoon.
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. My husband and I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich and I had the delicious lobster roll. The drinks are refreshing! The outdoor area was cozy and charming, we highly recommend this place for future dining!
Be the first to ReplyWent here for my birthday.
Every food and drink we had was to die for. Lucas, the owner, even comped my crème brulee as a birthday treat. Our server was a true professional, even rotating our utensils smoothly through each course. Everything on the menu is incredible and intentionally curated. I can't recommend this place enough. 5 stars to the team here.
Be the first to ReplyWhat an amazing little eatery.
The menu is limited but we found a handful of healthy, fresh items which was exactly what we wanted. We didn't leave anything on the plate. The lobster Benedict was very tasty and full of meat. Both yolks were runny. My husband really enjoyed the Salmon tartine. It had a ton of salmon on it with fresh onion and capers. We really enjoyed the house coffee and latte. Neither were sweetened. It was truly a delight to stumble into such a great space.
