An excellent choice for tapas-style dining
We went to this restaurant where had not been called "Niu Kitchen" to celebrate our granddaughters birthday. It is in downtown Miami, Spanish Catalan-style with excellent food and service. It is a tapas and wine place, and we shared lots of delicious delicacies. Among them a very tasty cold tomato soup with mustard ice cream, which I had never seen before, and lots of delicious small plates, all creations of their chef. We were surprised they only have one type of white wine by the glass, hopefully they will add a Chardonnay eventually. Otherwise they have excellent service, very attentive and professional, and I can say it is one of the good spots for dining tapas style in downtown Miami.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed. The wine pour per glass was very short & we got the end of the bottle, so our wine was full of sediment.
Food portions small. We shared a paella as advised for 2. We left hungry. Music very loud and not at all Spanish. One and done!

Restaurant had a family feel. Small restaurant. Seemed like the staff was family or close friends. Locals dining there also seemed like friends with the chef and staff. So- local gem. Food was quite good! Clams were fresh and delicious. The Bronzino tartare was absolutely outstanding! Artichoke entree was very good. Wipe the kitchen was tiny, the chef did an outstanding job, and all of the dishes I ordered were well prepared and delicious. I gave it 4 stars only because the atmosphere was not a 5, but the food and service were both 5’s. Excellent dinner.

Fantastic food and service. We tried 10-11 dishes from the appetizers and main courses to see taste the Catalonian flavors. Everything was perfect!!. Every single dish was presented beautifully, amazing flavors. Service was outstanding, attentive, we really loved the superb knowledge and recommendations of our waitress. Highly recommended, we will definitely return.
Be the first to ReplyNew Spanish/Catalan cuisine done well - Excellent
A hidden gem in Miami Downtown where you can get an authentic catalan experience and good service for a reasonable price. The food is not only really good they vreate some new and unexpected flavor combinations, and they do the classics well. Will definitely come back.

This dinner could easily be classified as a great culinary experience. Absolute favourites included : Charbroiled Ponzu Oysters, Charbroiled Octopus Leg, Steak Tartare and toasted garlic tomato bread. Oh and their anchovies ! Which we added on their tomato toast because the combination was so good. We had a Spanish red wine by Dido & Jurriaan to go with. Waitstaff was lovely, and we loved seeing ‘Round of beers for kitchen staff’ on the menu (although we forgot to order one of those with all our excitement around the meal). Overall very memorable experience. Can’t wait to come back.
Be the first to ReplyAs good as excellent restaurants in Spain
In a small plate restaurant, we selected 8-9 dishes for 4 people. Every one of them was delicious. Our friends live in Spain a few weeks a year, and they thought that the food was as tasty as food the best restaurants they went to in Spain.
Be the first to ReplyTaste of Spain in Miami downtown
At Niu Kitchen, you always get the feeling you’re dining at a Catalan corner cafe. Every bite of this Arros sec was drenched with such intense flavors with the botifarra sausage, mushrooms and dabs of aioli. Swipe to catch glimpse of this cozy restaurant in downtown Miami by Chef Deme Lomas. We love his cooking! Charbroiled Paquillo peppers in garlic oil and gluten free baguette went perfectly with the paella. The charbroiled calamari, potato cream picada was divine. The whole place is filled with personalities of the wait staff. Tonight’s dinner satisfied my yearning for some European flavors and made us feel as if we were in Spain.

This is an incredible restaurant in Wynwood.
It’s hard to get in without reservations. The food is fenomenal. Almost everything is sharable which is my favorite type of dinner.
Drinks are also super well done. All drinks are made to perfection.
There was not a single time we thought something wasn’t perfect.
This review just reminded me that I need to go back.
Good food, but trashy music way too loud
We enjoyed the Spanish tapas type of cuisine very much, but the service is average and the ambience is wanting. They played trashy music using obscenities against police, and it was so loud that we could not have a normal conversation. They need to refine themselves or they won't attract a larger clientele. Neighborhood is sketchy too.
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING FOOD but need to add more regular wines
This is my second time here, right now NIU Kitchen has combined with Arson’s, you will be dining at Arson’s but the menu is mixed between the two restaurants.
The food is SUPERB, I loved it the first time and this time too, really really good and different from the usual, we had PA AMB TOMÀQUET (Toasted bread, grated tomato, garlic oil), COCA (Flat bread, escalivada, anchovies, female tuna belly, romesco), CHARBROILED MUSHROOM CONFIT (Asparagus, poached egg, parsley, garlic, thyme), PAN-SEARED FOIE (Honey bread, apple textures, raspberries, almond powder) ALL SUPER DELICIOUS 😋❤️😋
My disappointment are the wines, they only serve natural wines, I don’t love natural wines in general, we tried 4 different ones before finding one that we could drink and, we only ordered by the glass, not a bottle like we would normally do because we just don’t like natural wines.
I understand that you guys want to specialize in natural wines and that is great but, why don’t you also have some options of regular wines ?
Given that we asked the waiter if we could bring our own bottle and pay corkage fee which would be great, he said we could but the corkage fee is $ 32, very expensive, given the location and place I would happily pay $ 20 but not $ 32 !
So I will be back for the food for sure and hope that they will add some more options to the wine list that are not natural 😜 @niukitchen @arsonmiami

I will only give a 3 stars
I will only give a 3 stars because the location , the food it was amazing , very nice tapas , lime Pata Negra, Fois Grass and etc.
The service is not the best but was good .
EXCELLENT FOOD ❤️
First time trying this restaurant which has now temporarily opened their larger space as a combined concept of intersecting the flavors of NIU Kitchen with the charbroiled touch of Arson’s flames.
We ordered a bunch of dishes, I found these very different from a traditional Spanish restaurant, more contemporary and incredibly good, I particularly recommend the COCA (flat bread, escalivada, anchovies, female tuna belly, Romanesco), the PAN-SEARED FOIE (seared foie gras, honey bread, apple textures, raspberries, almond powder) and another amazing one was the OUS (poached eggs, truffled potato foam, Jamón Ibérico , black truffle), OMG guys these were soooooo good.
We also had the CHARBROILED DUCK 2 WAYS, I liked the smoked one but did not love the charbroiled as it was hard and chewy. They serve natural wines, we picked an albariño which was not bad.
I will definitely be back and I am very curious to try some new ones @niukitchen @arsonmiami @winemedium

Be the first to ReplyLovely after event in AA Arena
Lovely after event in American Airlines arena. We were at a 5 o’clock Miami Heat game and wanted something nearby straight after the game. This place was a quick ten minute walk away. Lovely vibe in the place, full of locals rather than tourists. Tapas like menu. We ordered a number of dishes and found them all tasty, though some of the flavours not our favourites. The place was full to the bream on a Monday night, which was lovely to see. Really enjoyed our visit, but next time I’d ask a few more questions about flavours before I’d order. Very long wine selection.
Be the first to ReplyGreat for seafood lovers
This is a tiny restaurant with teeny tables and hardly any space between them. I didn't like the food at all but I don't like sea food and like vegetarian or fish best. My partner however loved the food and goes there a lot. (I just went the once). The wine list was good.
Good for small people who like seafood.
