Nobu Fifty Seven New York Reviews from The Last Year
Best meal!
I saw a lot of reviews about poor service and was a little worried. However, upon arrival we were met with the most amazing servers. Unfortunately I cannot remember his name but our server went through the dishes, helping us decide on what to try, and even asked the chef to prepare a selection of sauces for our meal as we were not sure about spice levels. The food was truly amazing and a week later we are still obsessed! We came all the way from London to celebrate my 21st and Nobu made it super special. If you go on a weekend, I would recommend the lunch set menu, it was amazing value for money. The beef donburi was the best beef we had ever tasted! The staff were even willing to take photos for you. This was the most amazing meal and expereince and we will be back!
EXCELLENT service and food.
Make reservations because it was packed. We ordered several things and not a single complaint. So good. Definitely worth going.
Food was great.
However, the service was very sloppy. We had an appetizer dish with a lot of sauce at the bottom of the plate. When we finished, the server collected it by practically swinging the plate. The sauce flew out onto the table and all over my phone. I'm just glad it didn't spill onto me or my clothes. We informed him about it and he didn't even apologize. In fact, he acted like we made him do more work by asking him for a towel to clean up the mess he made. For a high end restaurant, I think that kind of service is unacceptable. 3/5 - Delicious food but service could use improvement.
My wife and daughter were looking forward to eating here
My wife and daughter were looking forward to eating here for my daughter's 21st birthday and they were not disappointed. We had a great family style dinner with some tasty drinks from the bar. My daughter got to order her first drink and get carded. A bit pricey (depending on your budget), but the food a service was great. There was a nice birthday surprise at the end of diner that they did for us.
Not really sure why people are still coming here.
It must be an ambiance thing (not much of it though- crowded and dim) anyway came here to celebrate a birthday and after a $875 bill we were all home sick as hell!!! Definitely got food poisoning. The food was overpriced and apparently undercooked, sushi was probably old I dont know - but we have never been sick after food - we were ALL throwing up for 2 days. 1 star because the drinks were ok. Just ok
Excellent
Very nice place. Good food. Nice employees. Specially chef Jae n Jamie are gorgeous) We had an excellent experience every time we come.
First time here and don't understand the hype.
Yes the ambiance is cool and service was fine, but the food didn't stand out to me crazy. The prices are ridiculous for extremely small portions, but if you have the money it's definitely a spot worth trying out.
Incredible Experience
Amazing experience. My daughter and I had a fantastic dinner. We were on the fence since we read reviews about the food being bland, but it was completely the opposite. Our server was amazing as well, she made sure the ambiance from our dinner was up to par with expectations.
I was super hungry and the chipotle I normally go to was
I was super hungry and the chipotle I normally go to was super packed, so I decided to go try this small ma and pa shop Nobu. Really glad I did. Food:10/10 The food was great. The edamame was spectacular and I recommend that everyone that goes here try it. The white rice was also amazing, especially with soy sauce. I didn't get any sushi but apparently they are good at that as well. Service:10/10 You know it will be a great dinner when you are hydrated the whole time. That is why I almost busted when I saw we were right next to the water station. Every time the waiter would come back from another table he would fill up my water again. Truly, a special space with special people. At small shops like these, you know you will get the best service. Also, every time the waiter would bring us another dish he explained what it was. It was regretful that I had no clue what he was describing, but I still appreciated the gesture. Ambiance:9.5/10 Really great vibe in the restaurant with cool lighting and color scheme, but what sold it for me was the bathroom. With all the water I was drinking, I knew the trip was inevitable. It can be frustrating when the bathroom isn't as clean as the restaurant, but I found almost the reverse to be the case here. It was a blissful experience in more ways than one, and the environment made me never want to leave. All in all, a great restaurant with great potential. I'm excited to see where they take this place!
Lunch crowd but nice fish, server forgot my uni sushi
Lunch crowd but nice fish, server forgot my uni sushi , Crazy price but ambiance is worth it
Everything was so delicious! Every single dish was
Everything was so delicious! Every single dish was flavorful beyond words. My favorite dish was the Black Cod with miso and the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna. The service was good. My only small nit is that the waiter forgot about the birthday request when bringing out our dessert. Typically not a big deal, but I did provide the name for the bday twice in advance. Otherwise, everything else was excellent! Cannot wait to go back.
I've already commented on this incredible experience.
I wanted to add a clip from my Birthday dinner . May 10 !
I indulged in an amazing lunch today at Nobu Fifty
I indulged in an amazing lunch today at Nobu Fifty Seven! The restaurant entrance is located on the inner side of a building, so it is hidden at first. However, there are signs with the name on the building, so that's helpful. On the first floor is a small bar section and then upstairs is the main big dining room. The tables are kind of close together, but if you're in the corner booths, you'll have enough personal room. The ambience has a very modern and divine look to it with authentic sushi chefs seen making the dishes. Ambience Rate 10/10. The dishes my boyfriend and I ordered which we shared were the... 1. SIGNATURE BENTO BOX: This was a great deal considering the amount and type of food you're given for $85. It started off with Miso soup which was average. It had a cold part of the bento box which had Toro Tartare with Caviar which was delicious and had a great wasabi taste to it; Sashimi Salad which the fish was soft and flavorful; and Assorted Sushi which had one of the freshest and best fish I've ever tasted. Then it came with a hot part of the box which included Black Cod with Miso which was amazing; Lobster Tempura Amazu Ponzu which was average; and Tenderloin Anticucho which was also nothing special. Overall, this kept me full, I liked how it gave me a chance to try a variety of their popular dishes, and was definitely worth the price. Rate 9/10. 2. Crispy Rice w/spicy tuna: The savory and crunchy rice paired very well with the sauce and fresh tuna that was given. Rate 9/10. 3. Rock Shrimp Tempura w/creamy spicy sauce: Although the sauce had a great spice to it, the dish overall tasted average. Rate 7.5/10. 4. House Special Sushi Roll: This was one of my favorite Nobu dishes because of how well all the different fish mixed together in this sushi roll. Rate 10/10. 5. Lobster Taco & Crab Taco I wouldn't get any of their tacos again since each were $12 and I barely tasted the lobster and the crab in this small bite sized taco. Rate 4/10. The service was great. In addition to our waiter, there were several other waiters who served our dishes to us explaining to us one by one what they were. Service Rate 10/10. The prices were expected for the high quality fish you're being served. The only thing that wasn't worth the price were the tacos like I said. In terms of dress code, for lunch at least, it's nothing fancy. I wore jean shorts and a crop top, while my boyfriend wore a t-shirt and khaki shorts. My reservation was @ 1:30 pm and I got there 30 minutes early, and they were nice enough to take me in early, so I really appreciated that. That said, even though I went during lunch time on a regular Tuesday, the place was still packed. So if you're the type who wants a more calming and quieter eating experience, I would recommend making an earlier lunch reservation. Overall, I would 100% go back to Nobu due to the fantastic first experience I had today!
Awful
So disappointed! Food was tasteless, expensive and sparse. Buyer be aware! Just because it has a reputation doesn’t mean it’s worth the time, and (especially) the money!
Rude Hostess
The unpleasant and rude reception of the hostess was just unbelievable!!! It made me go elsewhere . I have been going to Nobu for the last 10 years and never had such an unpleasant reception
Dinner after a Show
Upstairs dining room opens at 5:30pm you can order stuff at the bar earlier. We got the wagu dumplings they were amazing. Best dumplings I ever had (5 pcs to an order) . We didn't do sushi but 2 hot entrees. Chicken teriyaki and spicy vegetables with tofu. Both were great. Staff was super friendly.
Meh
Was so excited, but super disappointed.$350 lunch and super average. We left confused by the hype.Probably the worst of the sushi places we have been to.
First time to Nobu and for a birthday celebration.
The atmosphere and service was a 10/10. It is the perfect place for a special evening. However, the food knocks it down a star. I will say that the Japanese eel nigiri and salmon nigiri is probably the best I've ever had - no joke. The crispy tuna was also great. However, the shrimp tempura roll and rock shrimp were average at best. And the "mocktail" was straight mango juice - you'd think a mocktail at Nobu would at least have some flair. At Nobu, you go for the clout and the atmosphere and the food is just a bonus. A solid 4 stars.
Don't let the prices fool you.
Nobu Fifty Seven is a tourist destination for sticky, sweet, saucy, pretend Japanese food battered and deep fried in dirty frier oil. The presentation is reminiscent of the Y2K "tapas" trend as is the overall ambiance of the place which screams "midtown"'! $44 for two wagyu tacos the size of 50 cents? Maybe I could've gotten into it if it were a mall restaurant in the Midwest w/ an extra seat for my Victoria Secret shopping bag but even then the cosmos wouldn't be strong enough.
Worth a visit
Delicious sushi and more, great service, nice ambience. Trendy place too. I recommend highly. We had a large family reunion here and they treated us well and were very attentive.
Nobu was good! I loved the sushi more than the main entrees
Nobu was good! I loved the sushi more than the main entrees so I would highly recommend getting sushi and apps here! But overall great experience and great ambience!
I went for my 21st birthday a couple weeks ago and I loved
I went for my 21st birthday a couple weeks ago and I loved this place. The food was delicious and the ambiance was really nice. I definitely plan on coming to Nobu more often. The service was also great. This place is exactly what you expect it to be. 10/10
I had an exquisite dining experience at Nobu Fifty Seven!
I had an exquisite dining experience at Nobu Fifty Seven! The yellowtail was irresistibly delicious, showcasing the exceptional freshness of their fish. The service was both friendly and prompt, contributing to a perfect evening in our private section, shielded from the noise. The low lighting added to the intimate ambiance, and the selection of wines complemented the perfection of every dish. Highly recommend for a delightful culinary escape!
this hands down was the best food i've ever had.
the restaurant was dim and quiet. I went for my birthday and i can't imagine a better night. our server was kind and gave good suggestions.
Don't park at Laz across the street, they damaged my car
Don't park at Laz across the street, they damaged my car and said they didn't. Came for lunch and enjoyed every minute! The service was on point, the presentation was spectacular, the taste was amazing. We had the lunch special which was so full of flavor and different textures it was more like a food adventure. First time here and would recommend to anyone looking for something different.
Nobu is best suited for business dinners or for
Nobu is best suited for business dinners or for celebrations, as the service and ambiance are phenomenal and luxurious, but the food leaves much to be desired. We came for a friend's birthday with a reservation for 4 people for dinner, and we were seated promptly. Drink orders were taken quickly and served just as fast, and the waitress offered suggestions for the number of dishes recommended for our party. Food-wise, the black cod with miso is a popular dish here so we had to try it. The texture was flaky, and flavor mild and pleasant. The squid "pasta" was also creative, with the squid cut and scored to the shape of pasta. The raw dishes, however, were lackluster (coming from an avid sushi eater). The tuna tartare was a textural nightmare. It was mush, and drowned in the wasabi/soy "sauce". It could have benefitted from being paired with some type of chip to add some texture to this baby food-esque mess. The toro & scallion roll ended our meal. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but for $22, I've had toro rolls that were more fresh.
This isn't Nobu Malibu; not even close.
Even though the name is the same, the quality falls short. I don't get the hype around mediocre sushi. New Yorkers, you are getting conned. If you want to try real sushi, come to LA and make sure to visit Masa...
Nobu 57 was an experience
It was a great time! The food came out exceptionally fast (within 5 mins of us ordering). Staff was super attentive!
I visited Nobu as part of a group corporate event for lunch.
It was funny because around lunchtime, it seemed like everyone was there for a corporate event! I got the signature bento box (~$85) and really appreciated the wide variety of food, which included their famous miso black cod. The sashimi was very fresh, and the fish was cooked well, still soft and succulent. I honestly did not finish the full bento because there was a lot of food. The service was fast and attentive. While I could definitely see myself coming here to celebrate a special occasion, it would be an understatement to say it would be hard to come here regularly given upscale pricing :)
First of all, FANCY!!! The ambiance made me feel like I was
First of all, FANCY!!! The ambiance made me feel like I was an assassin waiting for my target, very nice and beautiful. All the service was fantastic. They were kind enough to ignore the fact that we looked like underage homeless tourists with 3 cents to our name. That really stuck out to me, they didn't treat us any different because we were young. The dessert was AMAZING. 18$ spent but it was worth it. The Chocolate Namelaka was fantastic. We devoured it. The rest of the food was great as well. The crispy rice was good but not something I would get again. The beef toban yaki was quite good though, and the sauce that it was marinated in was delicious. Sadly this place only gets 4 stars because the portion sizes were small. While I expect this from a upper class restaurant, I do wish that I didn't end up going home hungry. I would go again if I had more money to spend.

Thank you for the question, if a seller is working on answering your bid, you cannot cancel it until their time is up and the bid is released back to you. The full amount of funds then go back into your AT account. Typically a seller has 48-72 hours to complete the bid.
