I will never, ever, return!!!
The worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. Unfriendly staff, the food was nothing special, with poor hygiene conditions. In the end we were coerced by the employee into paying a high bonus or otherwise told us we would have problems.

Excellent and fun little place. Normally a queue but goes quick. We had a good selection and different small plates and enjoyed it all. Good buzz in the place and the staff look after you well.

This spot in Philadelphia was amazing and I heard the nyc branch was better. Unfortunately I was greatly disappointed. The rice rolls with fried dough was stale and mushy, like it was reheated, the shrimp balls still had the intestinal track of the shrimp in it, aka all the poop. Didn’t notice until the last ball… everything else had minimal flavor. They did end up not charging for the rice roll, but always tried to argue that it was how it should be.

Recommended by family as place to visit. Sadly it was a disappointment. The food was good but service was poor and unwelcoming. Toilet is a disgrace and doesn't seem to have been cleaned since it opened. Chased out the door for the tip, which was not deserved.
Be the first to ReplyGreat dim sum and experience in Chinatown
We visited friends who were local while we were in town and they recommended this place. We try to visit Chinatowns when we travel and love dim sum. This place was great. Good and fast service and great value. The 30+ minute wait on a Saturday was worth it.

Dim sum joint dating back to the 1920s. The ambience reflects this. In the heart of Chinatown and steeped in NYC history. Unfortunately, the Dim Sum scene in NYC has now far surpassed the offerings at the Parlor. Suitably hectic atmosphere and fun to visit, just not for the food! Lots of better options around.

An amazing place to eat! We had to wait in line a little bit, but it was definitely worth it. Lots of choice and the service was quick. Definitely try the Jasmine tea and the house specials!

This place was one of our MUST TRY restaurants in NYC! But we were disappointed. We came first thing in the morning and there was no line, and we ordered some things others recommended. Egg rolls were super super greasy. Chicken dumplings tasted like seafood- honestly everything had a fishy taste to it even when it wasn’t seafood! Sticky rice okay. We didn’t really enjoy anything but the tea. Wish I could say something better but I would recommend skipping this place!
Be the first to ReplySo so disappointing. Really really bad
Didn't enjoy this at all. Restaurant was packed but the potential give away was the only Asians there were the waiting staff. Nothing tasted nice. The beef bun had a horrible bun ratio. Like 85% or so. No flavour off the dumpling broth. The dumplings themselves seemed to have a congealed mass of meat that wasn't nice. Vegetarian dumplings tasted so bad, I spat it onto my napkin. I really don't understand what people are tasting when reviewing here. If you can't get the staples of dim sum and dumplings right, you're not not going far. Really really disappointing for our last meal in NY. Shocked at the 5 star reviews here.

We had Dim sum at Nom wah during our visit to NY Chinatown, what a great place!! it was recommended in many articles and they were not wrong. Service was fast and friendly,The place is traditional, small dining room and old decor, but the food is what you are there for and it was great. The dim sum was outstanding!!So tasty, the soup dumplings the best, rice rolls, shrimp balls, fried rice, everything was so yummy! This is truly one of the best dim sums I’have tried and will for sure come back in our next visit to NYC!it is a must !
Be the first to ReplyTiny little China town street-you will find this gem!
The service is excellent, the choices of food are great. For someone who doesn’t really love Dim Sum, I found plenty of options from soups to vegetables to dumplings—all very good and served steaming hot. NOTE—American Express or cash only

Menu was confusing, sat there while waiters just walked by. Finally had to stop someone to see how we ordered. When I was getting out of the booth to leave the waiter had been looking over my shoulder to see what I was tipping. He put his hand out so I couldn’t get out of the booth and pointed at the receipt indicating I didn’t tip enough. I had left a 12% tip because the service wasn’t that great. I had looked up where to eat in Chinatown off of Trip Advisor that is why we ate here. The food was good but nothing overly special.
