Go elsewhere for take-out
I've been going to Noma for decades. It's a nice experience inside. The food is good, but something is off when you have to pay 25% more for takeout. Let's see: no table, no plates or glassware to be washed, no service, but you have to pay more? You can no longer place an order by phone, you have to use some app and that results in a higher price for every item and a 10% service fee. Come on.

Certainly no more expensive than your average sushi spot (with better food) and less than the trendy ones. They do it all. Good, fresh sushi and sashimi and excellent hot Japanese food.
Be the first to ReplySushi spot in Santa Monica
Sushi spot in Santa Monica thatโs good for grabbing a casual weeknight dinner. Came here on a Wednesday around 6pm and got seated immediately (note that your entire party needs to be present). We split an order of tempura udon and sushi ensemble (with spicy tuna rolls for $1 more). I really liked the udon, and the tempura was freshly fried and not oily. The sushi ensemble came with different cuts of fish so itโs a good option if you want variety. They do have lunch specials. Thereโs a tiny parking lot as well as metered street parking. The restrooms were out of order when we were there. Credit cards accepted. Indoor dining only.

Easy to miss this place in a mini mall next to a cleaners. Donโt. Delicious fresh fish, yummy salmon skin salad (big enough for three!), willing to make rice free hand rolls, excellent service.

Noma is to me the best Japanese restaurant in Santa Monica, the chefs are all from Japan, fish is fresh and they can add that touch of flavor and traditional meals which makes it a great experience , my family and I love going back to this restaurant any time we have the desire for Sushi

Always see people go in and out of the place and the parking lot is constantly packed, so we decided to give it a try for family dinner. Have to say the sushi was better than expected, we got there right before the dinner rush, or else people were waiting outside the door. Pretty big menu with a really good selection of sushi rolls, which we enjoyed a lot. Also their combination dinner was very worth ordering as you get quite a bit of food for your money. Definitely recommend for causal gatherings.

The crispy rice was the real reason I came here. It is the best crispy rice I have ever had and I've been to a lot of sushi places. The rolls were also good and very fresh. It is a small restaurant, so it's a good place to go with one or two other people; not a large group. It was open on Christmas eve, which was also a plus for me.

Walked in for lunch. Could not have been more pleased with the sushi and service. The building is unassuming but the sushi selection is very good. When they offer 2 types of uni you know they know what they are doing. Lunch or dinner they are really good. I can see why the restaurant was packed with people at noon on a weekday.
Great real Japanese
My family and I love Japanese food, and the Noma is comparing quality and price the best place for us to enjoy the real Japanese food in Santa Monica
Authentic and great quality
Great Restaurant
Was visiting from NYC. Noma has fantastic sushi and great service. The atmosphere was amazing and I spotted 1 or 2 famous people, which added to the experience.

Very bad experience, very expensive. They want only your money and give the bill before you begin to eat. A shame

Noma is an authentic Japanese sushi restaurant in a casual and quiet atmosphere. The service was outstanding and the staff was very friendly and accommodating at all times. We had asked several local merchants in the area where we could find a good sushi restaurant and Noma delivered! We would definitely return again on our next visit.
