Nopi
If you enjoy, small plates, covered in strong flavours covered in soy, then this is the place for you. Service was attentive, but didn’t know anything about the dishes, apart from the fact we had to order lots?
Be the first to Reply5 star food 1 star service !
All of the food was incredible, really special and exactly what you would expect and hope for from a high end restaurant - pork belly, spring chicken, parsnip salad, pumpkin, sweet potato, mung bean fritter , all incredible and each dish simple but surprising in taste and flavour. Unfortunately the meal with friends was ruined but what can only be described as dreadful service , dreadful from the moment we ordered drinks - time for drinks to arrive (inc just water for the table), times we were asked whether we wanted drinks while waiting for the drinks we were already waiting for, white wine not chilled, not available (they keep it away from the table ), spilling the drinks, dropping the food, food not coming together (inc the chicken main which came last , on its own after everything else), attitude of staff (some not all) when concerns raised towards the end of the dreadful service. Amazing cooking completely ruined by shocking service. Be warned , the wine list is pricey - 1 bottle at £30 and then everything else >£50.
Be the first to ReplyJust don’t go!!!
My friends and I were looking forward to our catch up and having good food but all we ended up was a big bill! Sitting area was bad. They sat us downstairs where they stored their food, staff rushed us to order and in the middle of eating took our dishes away!!! Not a good experience at all. Even for me that I eat small portion, the dishes were ridiculously small and stupidly expensive! So won’t go back there ever again and mainly the way the staff treated us and ruined our night. Even we had to wait a long time till someone bothered to come with card machine so we could pay!!
Be the first to ReplyOK, not great
We were very excited to visit NOPI and selected it for an important birthday celebration. Things started downhill with a wrong drink order that likely got lost in the very large amount of restaurant background noise. Suggestion: have the server state back to you your order to ensure they got it right. Then our ordered tapas arrived, one by one by one. My main course lamb was too rare for lamb and the server did not ask how I wanted it cooked. Our potato order was missed, again likely due to the noise, and came out last. This was after we called it to their attention. The flavors were great, though not spectacular. All in all, an average meal at a very hyped restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyFull of Flavour
Dinner for 4 on an early Friday evening. Excellent service started at the entrance where coats were taken and it continued throughout the restaurant. As first time guests advice was provided on the amount of plates to order for sharing and it was perfect. We were a mixed table of meat , fish and vegetable eaters but there was enough choice for all. Your tongue will be embraced by wonderful flavours. Food arrives as it’s cooked so it’s a continuous feast. The atmosphere was busy but light and efficient. The bathroom facilities are an interesting curiosity and I won’t say more as it adds to the overall wonder. Highly recommend a visit
Be the first to ReplyIf you want to be ripper off: go to this restaurant.
Outside off the building: beautifull. Inside: rumours like an ordinary Mac Donalds. Tables: far too small. Food:all tastes like made with addition off glutamaat (flavourenhancer), being VERY UNNATURAL strong. Quality was very low. The portions were very small. Wine: as bad as wine sometimes can be and far too cold! Servants: not well educated to do there jobs. Nopi should be ashamed!

We were expecting something because we love otto lenghi’s food. In the first 5 minutes we were there 4 different people asked if we had any allergies even though we already indicated when reserving the table. The atmosphere is a little bit hectic with everybody moving around constantly (staff and guests). The first dishes were okay. Then we had chicken that didn’t come off the bone it was so bad, so we couldn’t eat it. The oxtail was chewy and very hard to eat. The food was cold too. The waiters were very nice about it. The deserts were very good. All in all not what we expected.
Be the first to ReplyNice tastes - fast in, fast out
We went there for a pre-theatre meal at 17 which meant the table was booked for 1.5 hrs. This we knew and suited our schedule. The aperitifs arrived and a couple of minutes later also the first dishes. We had barely had a sip of our aperitifs. Plates came all super fast, also the hot main course, even if it had been agreed that the warm “starters” would come a bit later with the main course that we were going to share as well. Finally at that point we had finished the aperitifs and got to order wine to go with the food that was left. The waiter was helpful and let us taste a couple of alternatives. Then the other waitress came and told us we had 30 mins left and we should think about the dessert. We skipped the dessert. Even if we knew all the bookings made before 18 are for 1.5 hrs we had a feeling they were trying to get us out in 30 mins. And they would have succeeded if we had not decided to just sit in peace and enjoy the wine. The food was nice, interesting tastes, beautifully served, like it should be for the prices. Not top quality, but extremely good. The fast in, fast out concept made us give 3 stars.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
Went my sister for her birthday. We love the cookery books, and I’m very familiar with the food style but we were very disappointed with the food we were served on the day. The portions were tiny, the flavours very odd, and the only dish that I really liked was the cheese tart.
Do you add insult to injury, my sister received a ‘happy birthday’ decorated dessert with a candle in it, which actually turned out to be my dessert which was then handed to me once she had blown the candle out on it. Not terribly hygienic especially in the face of a pandemic.
Won’t be going back sadly
Fabulous food, smartass restaurant
I had two excellent and interesting dishes - roasted aubergine and cod - both cooked to perfection. But the restaurant itself is hectic with bad acustics and the smartass waiters are pushy; far from what I thought wad the Ottolenghi idea of warm and welcoming dining experience.
Be the first to ReplySoooo disappointed
As a massive fan I was given a voucher for Christmas, my husband and I went … the staff seemed well versed in what they needed to advice … treat as a meze around 5 courses…
We chose nuts for start, 2 veg courses and two meat
The aubergine and beetroot were served cold??? And tapas size plates with prices that reflected main courses… 3 rounds of aubergine, cold aubergine!! Beetroot delicious but time portion…,
Main cod and poussin, both delicious, but not even enough for 1!!! We felt cheated, my present and my hero both dashed and do disappointed. Very expensive, I would say taking advantage of true fans and soooo disappointed and upset with my experience
Food disappointed
Went to Nopi for a special birthday meal and were disappointed by the food. Seems complacent. Cold starters. Main course lamb overcooked.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food ruined by unwelcoming staff
The food here is amazing and it is a real shame that the rudeness of the front of house staff ruined the evening for us.
I called on my way to the restaurant, as I was running 15mins late for my booking. I was reminded over the phone that I only had 1.5 hours at the table. When I arrived I handed my coat in and overheard the FOH staff saying “ok she’s 15mins late so make sure we get the table back in 1hr15”.
My family were also running slightly late so I apologised and said they’d be here shortly. As I was waiting I was approached by another FOH member to explain that they needed the table back within the hour (ok I get it!!). After 5mins my family also arrived and we ordered drinks immediately but they also sensed a hostile atmosphere on arrival by the same staff. The waitress in particular was very patronising and sarcastic and made us feel very rushed. It was literally “service without a smile” and she had a very sarcastic tone when we asked questions about the menu etc.
Upon paying the bill (exactly on the last minute of our allocated time slot) we were not asked at all how we found the food, literally no friendliness whatsoever. I felt like I was being treated like a criminal for being 15 mins late, despite still sticking to my allocated time slot?!
I raised my concerns to the manager, who was lovely about it and offered that I book via her next time. Not really in a rush to go back, which really is a shame as the food was exceptional but feel the damage was done.
Tip: get there early ;)
2nd time and still impressed.
This was my 2nd visit to Nopi (was here my last time in London 5 years ago) and I was not disappointed. The food is excellent, the flavours wonderful. I generally dislike beets and even the beets tasted good. Excllent.

Positive: service was very good. Free sparkling water was a lovely touch.
We were there for a quick lunch but it felt a bit quicker than we would have liked. Food was ok, the trout delicious. It was just a bit too expensive for a meal which we felt was rushed out. Not a bad experience but not one which will make me want to come back so soon.
The finest London has to offer!
NOPI is a great restaurant with exceptional food and amazing ambiance. Period.
It was 4 of us and we ordered -
Burrata, mandarin, coriander seeds, verjus.
Valdeón cheesecake, beetroot, thyme honey, almonds
Koji rainbow trout, apple sheep’s labneh, macadamia & watercress pesto
Beef & liver kofta, yoghurt, radicchio, pickled mustard seeds
Hake, Jerusalem artichoke puree, confit artichoke, kale, urfa chilli butter
Membrillo glazed pork belly, celeriac, grapefruit slaw
The drinks were equally memorable. Especially the Rose & Cardamon Gimlet! Also do try the preserved lemon lager, it is refreshing.
The desserts all three of them are to die for!
The entire concept is sharing plates. There wasn’t a single dish which was not able to hit the mark. Each dish was unique and full of flavours. I was surprised that I was able to enjoy the ingredients which never caught my fancy or I disliked.
The service was spot on, the waitress (I did not get her name unfortunately) was very pleasant and wanted described the menu well.
The ambiance gives you the feeling of being in one of the Mediterranean chic restaurant. Elegance defined with utmost simplicity.
All in all a very fulfilling gastronomic experience which surpassed all expectations. With the restaurant bustling and packed to capacity the staff did an exceptional job and the chefs were on the mark with the food. 100/100
Special place for a special occasion
went with with the family for an anniversary celebration. greeeted warmly at reception and shown our table. Our waitress, Daria was very knowledgeable and helpful. she offered to swap our daughters drink in case she wasn’t fond of the lemon coriander spritz. we had some interesting cocktails. The polenta chips were delicious although the portions are small. The mains were delicious and innovative- Burratta with Orange, Valdeon cheesecake and the fish options. The Indiansed Rasam Fish however was a very liberal interpretation though and our least favourite! Our lovely server advised us on the wine and offered us three free testers of the unusual orange wine. We chose a delicious Georgian wine. Desserts were amazing! We ordered the chocolate ( which wasn’t very sweet at all) and the spiced pumpkin one. Daria surprised us with an anniversary treat-pineapple sorbet in rum.
our meal lasted nearly 2 hours and we didn’t feel rushed at all, unlike the experience that others have had, and which to be honest we were half expecting.
The food was interesting and worth trying., although not mind blowing. However , what made the whole experience special was Daria’s personal touch and attention
Delicious
Small plates, almost tapas style, but absolutely packed with flavour so did not leave feeling hungry. Intended to have the pre-theatre menu, but rest of it looked too good to miss. Interesting and unusual wine list. Good service. We sat upstairs which was conventional tables, downstairs is a shared chefs table overlooking the kitchen. Reasonable price for central london.

We’d gone to some weird (and totally rubbish!) bubble immersive art thing next to the RA, and then wandered around realising that we should have booked a restaurant since it was a Saturday night! Luckily, NOPI had two free spots at the bar. Fab food, delish cocktails and amazing service. Stand outs-were the beef and liver koftas, the cauliflower, chilli and choc pud and, of course, the margaritas!!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Food - Poor service
The wonderful small plate food was unfortunately spoilt by a rude front of house who couldn’t have been more unwelcoming if she tried.
Be the first to ReplyJust delightful, wanted time to stop
Having been long time admirers of all things Ottolenghi we finally had the opportunity to come to London for a show and thought we would double down with a visit to NOPI.
Booked for a 12:00 lunchtime sitting, we arrived possibly 10 mins early, which proved no trouble at all. A very friendly welcome by front of house staff, we were soon seated.
The little bowl of appetisers after we had ordered were delicious and set the tone for what was to come.
Nibbles of polenta chips and lavosh and roasted bell pepper were phenomenal, tasted buds having a little party!
Then came the tofu stuffed aubergines and the grey mullet. It was so beautifully presented, and tasted better, one of those moments you wish it was a never ending plate.
We rounded up with dessert of bowls of apple and chocolate gelato - best dining out experience for many years. Not just because of covid either.
Already planning a return trip.

We arrived for my daughter’s birthday treat last Thursday, and were pretty much pushed out the door within 10 minutes of our 1.5hr slot expiring. I think the gave us an extra 10 minutes before they arrived with the card machine and plonked the bill on the table! I was so surprised, that I paid the bill instantly, including the service charge of almost £11. Which, given the rudeness, didn’t feel was warranted. Nobody was waiting for a table, and they didn’t seem overly busy, so it was not great. I’d also specified when we booked that it was a birthday dinner! We were made to feel uncomfortable. Not what I’d expect from a quality restaurant. A very disappointing experience.
Be the first to ReplyFood OK but service really poor
I was visiting the restaurant end of November and when we arrived on the booked time the table was not ready and we had to stand there and wait for 15 minutes, when we got our table we did not get any service for another 20 minutes. When we finally got to order our cocktails and starters it took another 20 minutes and the cocktails our wine and starters were served all at the same time. We enjoyed our cocktails, starters and wine and was to order mains when the staff told us that we could not order any mains since WE were so late in our eating, if we wanted we could order some dessert. We had some dessert but still left the restaurant hungry. This was a disappointment visit and a really bad birthday experience for our son. Hopefully this was a one of that happened to us but I cannot give any great reviews based on the experience we had.
