Lovely meal and service
They were participating in NYC Restaurant Week which is how we discovered them. Great food and good variety. We enjoyed ourselves. Will return.
Be the first to ReplyInventive, delicious dinner
Our party of four dined here recently (reservations definitely required!) and loved every bite. We happily shared appetizers and mains between the four of us, which was a great way to experience all the marvelous flavors this little restaurant has to offer. The musubi appetizers are a must. Friendly service rounded out an all-around excellent dinner.
Be the first to ReplyProbably just a very bad day
Unfortunately, our visit to Noreetuh was disappointing. To begin with the positive aspects:
The service was great, very nice young waiters, quick, competent! Moreover, the wine was really a good one. The wine list of the restaurant is impressive and obviously composed by a real connoisseur (although then prices even for New York are a bit too high - the add 300% to what you would pay in a store).
The negative experiences were twofold: First of all, the kitchen must have had a very bad day. We had to leave two out of four dished untouched, another one caused diarrhea the next day in one of us (of course, there might have been another reason ...). The second flaw was the noise - okay this was bad luck, too: A party of six created such an intense sound that the other two tables (including us) couldn´t understand their own word. On the other hand: The very small room seemed to create it´s own specific acoustics.
Taken together, we can not recommend this place after our experience.
Great place
Very friendly and efficient staff, excellent cocktails, excellent food and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A Great please and a rare find.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Hawaiian restaurant with rich flavors
Came here with some friends and we had a blast munching on all the delicious Hawaiian food. We had the corned beef tongue musubi, big eye tuna poke, white truffle cavatelli with parmigiano- reggiano, truffle wontons with pickled salsify and shaved truffle, and the snake river farm's American wagyu. The musubi was delicious and just the right amount of salt. The truffle wontons are by far some of the best wontons I've ever had. The ham hock and shaved truffle added some great texture. The wagyu was buttery and each bite was savory. Overall, this was a great experience. Michelin rated restaurant in the past and for the price I think its well worth it. I'll definitely be back to try their other dishes and musubis!

May I start saying I might have found my new favorite Hawaiian restaurant in NYC? That is right, don’t take it from me just go and experience yourself (you will thank me later! =] ).
If you like raw tuna and pork belly, you’re going to like Noreetuh. If you like monkfish liver and uni, you’re going to love it. The menu ranges from the mildly adventurous (a corned beef tongue “musubi,” basically a sushi handroll) to the “yes, your picky friend will eat this” (garlic shrimp over rice).
Cute date place, a spot worth trying if you like interesting food at a non-outrageous price. Also, don’t miss the wine list, which the restaurant takes pretty seriously - no Tiki drinks here (not complaining!!).
Noreetuh has plenty of dishes for a successful first visit (even for mildly picky eaters). Dinner will be particularly fun for wine lovers (like myself) because of its overachieving list of German rieslings, Burgundies in both colors, Champagnes and more far-flung treats. Better still, the prices are low; just by sticking to your budget, you can drink at a higher level than usual. Sounds like a winner in my books
Ok, lets get to the food -
APPETIZERS
*Corned Beef Tongue Musubi: essentially a flat sushi handroll with Spam as the filling, is a popular dish in Hawaii. Noreetuh swaps the Spam for corned beef tongue, with some peanuts and a green cilantro sauce thrown in. Adventurous as it sounds, it’s actually a pretty simple dish. Get one as a starter snack.
*Tuna Poke: Raw cubes of tuna, tartare-style, with Macadamia nuts and seaweed salad. You want this on your table.
MAIN
*Pork Belly: Braised in pineapple with some greens and yams, you want this very tender pork belly. It is absolutely delicious!!
*Mentaiko Spaghetti: A creamy pasta with fish roe and smoked butterfish, almost like a seafood carbonara. A must-have.
Do yourself a favor and add this place to your "bucket list" :)
My server Claudia nailed it!!
See Claudia!! She has finesse. She is the server extraordinaire. Serving a single diner is an art. Don’t overserve. Don’t underserve. How much attention to give? How much conversation is enough? Claudia was attentive and gave me a PERFECT experience, in addition to the delectable meal. Thank you so much.

Went for the 1st time and truly enjoyed the restaurant week options of tuna poke, pork belly and bread pudding! Benjamin was very attentive and helpful! Will return!

This restaurant is tucked away amidst a ton of other restaurants. It is a small place, and it is very quiet and calm inside. I didnt know what to expect since the reviews seem to be all over the map on this one.
We only tried a few dishes but liked all of them. We started with the Jonah crab and smoked salmon rice and it was very smoky tasting and it was really good. We also had the homemade dumplings and they were truly delicious. Finally we shared the poke bowl and that was excellent as well. The dishes were all small portions and in the end we had room to share a chocolate sundae with coconut ice cream which was very good.
We did not have any alcohol, and only ordered a few dishes but the bill came to $100 for the two of us. It was not inexpensive and as i said there wasnt a ton of food, but nonetheless, it had a nice atmosphere, excellent service and pretty good food. I will definitely go back to try other dishes that we didnt order this time.
Fantastic!
We met friends for a celebration at Noreetuh and the evening was OFF THE CHARTS on every front!!
A nice relaxed setting inside. We sat a a booth upfront with plenty of room. I am a big guy so space is really appreciated!
Our server clearly was a student of fine food and wine and the conversation was just great. We were well advised and well taken care of.
Menu had amazing appetizers and entrees and we did lots of both, sharing all among our group of 4.
With the aid of our server, we did pairings with our entrees and appetizers. We also did taste offs between the various wines. It was lots of fun and the wine list was spectacular.
Overall, an unforgettable and FUN dining and wine experience.
It’s not cheap but it’s worth every penny. We will tell all our friends and definitely be return customers.
Super
Excellent restaurant- fusion of multiple food all based on Hawaiian influences.
A bit expensive but really enjoy the moment. The service is really great!
