Different than 'usual' Chinese Menus.
Nicely designed interior and food is fresh, well prepared but diners need to have a sophisticated pallet, for some of the menu entrees. Not an egg roll, wonton soup Chinese cuisine menu, which is a refreshing alternative to other local restaurants.
Be the first to ReplyMy second visit here pleasantly surprised me.
I was impressed by Peking duck. It was very delicious. You should definite get it if you like Peking duck. The other food I got was great too. Service was great. I'd definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyWe would frequent this rest.
Quite often. I took a friend out to celebrate our Birthdays, what a surprise, the food was cold, the waiter continued to pass us by. We waited quite some time to get our food. WASTE OF FOOD & MONEY..Will not go there again..

This is a great spot for a family, a date, or even just a meal by yourself. The ambience is classy and has great Decour. We ordered the hot pot and 1000 layer tofu. The hot pot is a must have! The spice level is just right (keep in mind I am Indian). I highly recommend this place and the service is always great. The food comes out in no time!

really disappointed in our experience here and I cant let it go. I think the way our order was handled by the staff, with no apology after was wrong and ruined our dining experience. There were 4 adukts and 4 kids on chinese new years (I know, I know... the most popular night of the year..) We knew we wanted peking duck as one of our 'main courses' along with some other main entrees to share, and we were going to have some appetizers, dumplings to share, and maybe soups before hand. 4 people in our party have been there previously, and 4 os us had not. As soon as we sat down and the waiter came over we told him 'we are definitely going to want peking ducks'. He informed us the peking ducks take about an hour to an hour and a half- so I said "great- put us in for a whole duck and a half a duck". About 1 minute later (this is not an exaggeration) a runner came to our table and attempted to put down 1 peking duck- we said we were sorry- he must have had the wrong table- we just placed our order, and sent him away. At that point our waiter came over (with a severe attitude- NOT politely) and told us that if we didnt take that duck "who knows when" we would get served, as the kitchen is running behind and they had ducks ready and we should take them. we felt pressured to hurry our meal and take the peking ducks or "who knows" if we would have gotten a duck or when. A second later the duck was served to us, and then our other 1/2 duck was served- (ps. the platters of duck are TINY. and they dont carve and roll the wraps tableside? they put all the condiments on the table and we roll our own?). All 8 of us were done with our ($180 total) duck wraps in about 10 minutes. the waiter came back over and asked "what else can I get for you?" At that point, we were all hemming and hawing- should we get dumplings? soup? go back to apps? we were still very hungry but the whole meal felt backwards - and like we were rushed and pressured. Rudely- noone ever came over to apologize and the entree before app situation wasnt even acknowledged or smoothed over to us. I left there feeling like our waiter (an 'older' guy with long hair) is in the wrong industry. He didnt know how to handle the situation with the kitchen, us as unhappy guests, or the obvious situation- that our sunday night we were looking forward to and fairly pricey meal was turned upsidedown. the food was fine. but save yourself the disaapointment and go to Peking Duck House in NYC- they are a class act of a chinese restaurant!!

I like that there was delicious mushroom dish and my son had chives and steak...prices are high...did not like chrysanthemum tea...but green tea was better...seafood casserole good....
Be the first to ReplyI'm a regular here, and there's a reason why.
The food is spectacular. We came here to celebrate Valentine's Day early and treated ourselves to their Peking Duck. The skin was so crispy and the flesh was so tender. The meat paired with the delicate pancakes is divine. We also got the chicken corn soup and the beef chow mein. They give you a heavy portion of noodles, so worth the price. Think of this place as elevated Chinese takeout.

Not sure if they changed up their cooks but our recent visit was extremely disappointing! They authentic Sichuan taste was no longer there! Everything tasted extremely Americanized...literally P.F Chang's level. The mapo tofu tasted like it was made from one of those microwavable package meals. Fried fish was soggy and everything was lukewarm! Even the rice tasted off. This was def NOT the O Mandarin I fell in love with! :(
Be the first to ReplyNot what I expected.
And some very disgraceful dipping sauce I guess for crab Rangoon?
Be the first to ReplyVery good authentic Chinese food.
Super spicy. Even for me, a red pepper fan, but also really good. I went for lunch one day, and had a lunch special. I went back another day for take out. It's not a very large space, and I understand that there can be a long wait in the evening. It's pricy, but it's also really good and worth the drive from Bronxville to Hartsdale.
Be the first to ReplyPricey Chinese food but good.
Nice ambiance and attentive waiters. Peking duck was excellent.

This place was incredible!! We came here for a casual weeknight dinner, but you can honestly come here for a fancy night out as well. The whole place smelled incredible- as if you walked straight into the kitchen. The service was super fast and all the food was so rich in flavor. The presentation was unique (see the bubble pancakes and the tin foil swan), but most importantly, everything was delicious!! Will definitely be coming back soon.
Be the first to ReplyO Mandarin came very highly recommended by several people.
The grandmas buns dish was definitely my favorite, and my friend had the shrimp lettuce wrap which was excellent. We both ordered Mongolian beef which was highly recommended to us. We both found it extremely salty but the staff was very gracious and offered to replace it, which they did. My appetizer was huge and I have a small appetite so I asked our server to wrap it and I specifically asked for the sauce to be included but it was not. I will try the restaurant again, but for the amount of money we spent I would have expected more. We both realize that the overly salty food is certainly not the servers fault and we left a 25% tip because we truly appreciated the staff going out of their way for us.Everything was very tasty and we enjoyed our evening, but if you are watching your salt intake you might want to make your server aware of that. Overall a good experience.
Be the first to ReplyDon't.
Just don't. Twice I have ordered from here and twice my orders were not right. Not only were they not right, but when I called on the secong time to say that it was the second time my order was wrong, I was told that I probably shouldn't bother ordering from them again.

It was my first time ordering from Omandarin and I was not disappointed. The food was really good. My family loved it. I didn't give it 5 stars because we only order a few dishes. It's also a bit expensive but like my wife said, it's worth paying a little more for quality. We'll be ordering again and I expect that I'll be changing my rating to 5 stars.

Excellent Chinese restaurant! Reminds me of when I was much younger and my family would good to the fancier type of Chinese restaurant rather than the take out places. Delicious!

Came here two weeks ago for 6:30pm reservation and we saw Peking duck on almost every table. By the time we ordered, they were out. Today we were smart and went at 4pm. Peking duck was amazing as were the lo mein which they call chae mein, scallion pancake, Chicken lettuce wraps, shrimp lettuce wraps, barbecue ribs and barbecue pork. The honey cucumber rock shrimp and pineapple fried rice are also delicious. Great service & atmosphere!! Two minor issues: on both visits, the lettuce with the lettuce wraps is soaking wet when they serve it to you. When you pick it up water drips everywhere. While I'm very happy that they wash the lettuce, you do have to dry it off before using it with a paper napkin. It's still delish ! Also a Chong Qing chili chicken is loaded with whole and chopped Sichuan dried chilies to the point where they cannot be pushed to the side. The little pieces of chicken were good but this dish is for someone who has no problem eating those dried chilies whole. The server should worn you if you order that. I'm not posting pictures because all of my pictures match the rest of everybody else's pictures. Westchester does not have many great Asian restaurants. Try this one!!!!

My new favorite Chinese restaurant! Passed this place a million times thinking it was just a little cheesy strip mall place until a co-worker gave me the low down on this place. I figured I would give it a try on his recommendation and I was not disappointed! The first surprise was when I walked in the door and saw what a nice , big beautifully decorated Chines restaurant it was. From the store front you wouldn't know that. We started with the Dan Dan noodles. At first I thought ok they're tasty but as you eat them they get better and better! (Don't know why, but I've become addicted to them actually calling for a take out order of them every few weeks.) The Wild Pepper Shrimp with Crispy Rice was my choice for main course on my first visit. The flavor was incredible but I have to say that it was actually Too spicy - later finding out that it has something in it called "numbing peppers". It was actually too spicy for me to eat much but I still really liked it. On my next visit I ordered the same thing without the numbing peppers and it was PERFECT! Just spicy enough but not overly spicy. Definitely try this dish! On another visit I shared the Peking duck! Wonderful! Unfortunately they do not always have it available so if you are looking to try it you may want to call ahead to see if available. The shrimp lettuce wraps are tasty but the shrimp are chopped so small that you the shrimp is overpowered by the sauce. The Mandarin Glazed Spare ribs were sweet and tender and a great appetizer. My husband had a pork belly dish that he really loved. The atmosphere is noisy and fun. It's always crowded so it sometimes takes quite awhile to get served although staff members are all polite !

Thank you Omandarin for helping to make my husband's birthday extra special. The food did not disappoint and the friendly staff and decorum were perfect. Big shout out to Danny who was perfect with recommendation for fish and attention to detail. We have been to Omandarin several times and have always walked away satisfied. Thank you to the Chef and Best wishes MM

Went for a family lunch, ordered appetizers of soup and soup dumplings that came out fast. Then we sat around waiting 50 minutes after eating our apps for our 3 entrees. Only 2 came out after the 50 minutes and one whole hour later, we got our 3rd entree. The female manager came by unapologetically and asked us if we wanted dessert on the house for the long wait for our food. I was appalled. How does not serving our entree in proper time equate to free dessert? Our meal was fully paid and we left vowing never to return. Soup dumplings skin was THICK, egg and tomato dish was SALTY, wild beef was ok but SALTY, and some other beef we got was drowned in oyster and SALTY.Service was lack luster (the bald guy was really rude that stood around) prices were too high for the quality of the food, service, and long WAIT. Maybe for the round eyes but for asians, it's a hard pass!!!We ended up running super late for church. Literally had 10 mins to scarf our food down and leave after waiting for so long.
