Very fresh seafood offered in many ways: raw tower, sashimi or sushi, and baked. The shortrib steak and crab cake were also excellent.

Amongst sea of fine dining restaurants, I'm seldomly impressed by a restaurant. With that said Ocean is incredible. I had a client meeting across the street and was drawn here by its ambience and energy. Aside from a well balance and not over the top decor, the food is incredible. We ordered a seafood crudo and was immediately blown away. While the steaks are great but the Miso Cod is a must try. Service is attentive, prompt and friendly. It's has since became one of my regular spots.

I had a busy morning at work, and walked to this place, as I was dying to try some seafood while in the city. I couldn't decide what to do, so I ordered both a seafood dish and some sushi. The Rocketman sushi was just as amazing as it sounded. It was a delicious roll topped with seared salmon. The salmon was super fresh, and the sear of the salmon mixed with the small hint of truffle set this off. Now the Alaskan Black Cod. Baby...this changed my life. The cod was very, very fresh and had an almost buttery taste to it. The glaze on the fish, caramelized, just perfectly and it gave the fish a nice sweet taste to go with the creaminess of the fish. I didn't love the vegetables and broth it was atop of, but who cares; this fish was a dream. This was definitely the best meal I had while visiting New York.. and I was there for an entire week. I was eating everything under the sun! This definitely lives up to the hype and the delicious pictures. When I come back to the city, I'm definitely swinging by again.

Everything was phenomenal! Ambiance, service, house made bread and the mushrooms soup .... Omg so good!
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing experience.
1) the restaurant greeter was late and passively rude. 2) Waitress gets confused when mentioning a dietary requirement. Had a basic salad to avoid the lack of attention/listening to a dietary request.

This place was incredible! The food came out quickly and was absolutely delicious. Our favorites were the ceviche and the Hawaiian walu. The halibut was a close second! 10/10!!

I recently read an article about the popular Japanese New Year lucky food called the buri. After reading further, I discovered that consuming buri has significant health benefits. Very few restaurants carry this type of fish. I learned this place has it, and this particular dish has black truffles and peking duck broth. The complementary bread was so good, and I devoured it because the Sancerre was coming out through my pores. The Toro tartare topped with caviar the wonton crisps. It was a great starter dish. Then the grilled buri came in - one of the amazing dishes I've ever had, and the Sancerre cuts through the flavors of the dish, making it balanced. The place is so pretty. I would consider having a birthday dinner or a girls' dinner here. By the way, the bathrooms are tech based, where everything functions by pressing buttons on a wall mounted keypad. Service was great.
Be the first to ReplyI came to Oceans first in mid-2022 and it was incredible.
But I came back recently for a second time and it was very solidly disappointing at a very, very high price point. The service and ambiance are wonderful. But the Japanese/sushi portion of the menu is just incredibly lackluster. The rolls are blah - muted flavors, temperature issues. It's like being at a low-grade sushi restaurant on St. Marks. I definitely DO NOT recommend any of the sushi rolls!!!! Even the tuna tar tar was pasty and actually kind of gross.I'm guessing that their more classic cuisine is the way to go. But learning that was a very expensive and sad lesson.
Be the first to ReplyService The waiter and waitress was attentive.
Food came out promptly. No extended wait time at all. Food & Libations Taking advantage of restaurant week. I had the mushroom soup which was amazing. Great flavor paired with the croutons. For the main course i had the Cod which was light and buttery. Great tasting overtop crunchy bok choy! My ginger inspired cocktail was perfect to go with my meal. Flawless meal. Ambiance. Very chill vibe. With sea inspired decor. By far the best bathroom I've used! If you go here check it out!Returning or nah ? Is this even a question? Hell yeah !

Came here for my girlfriend's bday and the service + vibes here are amazing. The hostess was very welcoming and came to check on us multiple times. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive--I don't think our water cups were ever empty. We ordered a non-alcoholic drink called "Early Riser" and this was delicious and very refreshing. As for the food:Parmesan truffle fries: Standard fries. They're goodCrab cake: 10/10. They do not skimp on crab meat and would come back just to get more of thisSalmon: They do an amazing job searing the skin and that really adds to the dish. The flavor itself is also just standard. Not the best but it's good. The vegetable(s) paired with the salmon were a bit too plain in flavor for me. However I will say they nailed the texture with the cauliflower bits, nuts and raisins.Black Cod: You could tell right off the bat that this fish was very fresh. You could taste the natural sweetness of the cod and the Asian inspired flavors complemented well. This dish was very unique and it was interesting to try out. We were very full right after our meal and were going to opt out of dessert since we have a bad habit of over stuffing ourselves. However our waiter and general manager surprised my GF with a NY style cheesecake with a blueberry sorbet stating she couldn't leave without some dessert! The staff here are second to none and even though not all the food was to my taste, would come back for the vibes and try some more dishes and drinks.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful restaurant extremely attentive professional Staff.
May have dined there on an off night. The bar was well stocked with great varieties. However the dinner was a bit lacking, started with the Caesar Salad which looked beautiful but was lacking in taste, dried out, average dressing and over kill on the cheese . The main course fish dinner looked beautiful, ย cold and drowned in sauce, the fries soggy and over sauced as well. Very disappointed.....

I called for a week and left messages for their event coordinator. ย The hostess said the room was available for the date, time and party size I wanted to reserve and the event coordinator would call me to discuss the details. ย She never called me back so on my 6th or 7th try calling, someone finally put her on the phone and she said they were booked. ย This is so unprofessional and unacceptable. ย I have 15 surgeons that were planning on having dinner in their private room and now I have to scramble to find a new space.

Came here with my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and was not disappointed by any means. The overall ambience was wonderful; the lighting was great with a noise level that felt lively but comfortable enough where we could always hear each other across the table. The service was quite satisfactory aside from a slightly stern presentation. I ordered ย a filet mignon for myself and the Hawaiian walu for my girlfriend, both of which were good but I think we both had higher expectations. However, we would highly recommend the rocket man roll and the Maryland crab cake. The complexity of the truffle miso with the richness of the crab and salmon was cut very nicely with the refreshing spiciness and zing of the jalapeรฑo slice. As a Bethesda native, my girlfriend gave the crab cake a high praise, which I believe says something about its quality and taste. Overall a pleasant experience, but should definitely have taken more of a hint on what to order from the restaurant's name!
Be the first to ReplyFood and service were excellent.
We ordered sushi rolls, tuna tartare, beef tataki (delicious!), octopus, edamame...to start. Then we ordered the whole Turbo fish, filet mignonette, beef short ribs and the dry aged sirloin. All the steaks were cooked perfectly. Dessert was the pear tarte and warm doughnuts (omg!). The room is beautiful, and the bathroom toilet is an experience! Will be back again.

came here for an early valentines dinner and it was superb!! the atmosphere was just right; perfect for a special occasion/ fancier date night. our server was very attentive, personable, and knowledgeable. they had a special toro tartare that night which my bf and I immediately ordered. there was caviar and some white cream on top in a slightly tart sesame dressing. it was divine! every bite was heavenly and we savored each bit. the oysters (we got 6 west coast & 6 east coast) were delicious as well and tasted very fresh! the lobster mac n cheese was pretty good, but I wish it was more flavorful. the lobster roll was delicious and very filling even though it didn't look too big! we got the truffle fries with them and they were perfectly crispy and tasty. for dessert, we ordered caramelized pear tart which had a brown butter cream, pomegranate arils, and cardamom ice cream which all went so well together! they gave us a palette cleanser at the end which was a raspberry gel candy- wasn't a huge fan of it but it was complimentary!5/5 ย for the great service & food throughout the night!

Trendy restaurant on park ave south. Food, service and ambience was beautiful. The lobster Mac and cheese was amazing. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and had great flavor. The shrimp scampi to start was perfect to start. The sushi was extremely fresh. Def recommend this place.

This restaurant is beautiful, not stuffy and serves amazing food. The long marble bar is elegant and chill. Bartender was well placed and knew his stuff. The food is fresh and delicious. They have a nice selection of fish dishes that are unique and satisfying. I had a variety of plates and everything was excellent. Highly recommend!

My friend and I came here on a Friday night with a reservation. The restaurant is spacious. There seems to be a few empty tables while we were dining there. I like the ambience. We ordered tuna tartare, Alaskan black cod, lobster roll, maple custard, and two mocktails. The food tastes good. Maple custard is my favorite among all the dishes we had. It's a dessert made of candied walnuts, salted dark chocolate mousse and vanilla tuille.
Be the first to ReplyHigh quality delicious seafood.
Uni, yellowtail, salmon and oysters on the half shell were all super fresh. Didn't snap any pictures until the entrees. We shared:- The special Dungeness crab and truffle risotto ย - Lobster Mac and cheese (filled with large chunks of lobster)- Dover sole- broccolini All delicious! For dessert we had the strawberry cheesecake with a blueberry verbena sorbet that was out of this world delicious and refreshing. The kids enjoyed the warm donuts with chocolate and dulce leche dipping sauces. The space is open, airy and clean. Service was impeccable. Will be back again.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely phenomenal experience.
The venue is a dream, fish is fresh, and staff are not only helpful, but personable too. This might be my new go-to special occasion spot.
