As of this review they are ranked #14 in the world, #1 in Asia, and of course are Michelin 3*. All for very, very good reason. The food is art, the wine pairing is essential and highly additive to the experience, and they exude modern class, down to the widely spaced tables, bright yet soft light, glass doors framing the kitchen, and chairs perfectly comfortable for a nearly four hour meal. Can't forget the cheese cart either, which was presented with skill and drew raves. As exquisite as the whole experience is, the wrinkle, of course, is that it absolutely should be for the price. Even if you are used to fine dining and wine pairings, it is very clear here they know that you are willing to pay for the experience. For the price paid here you could absolutely have two meals at some of their other Michelin-starred brethren, and that is enough to give me pause for a higher rating.

I have had eaten at star restaurants in Asia before but this was my first true fine dining experience in Asia. Odette is located within The National Gallery, a short distance by taxi from the bustling Orchard Road. It is advisable to catch a taxi if you dressed up for the occasion so not to sweat yourself out in the hot and humid weather in Singapore. As soon as we approached the front door of the restaurant, the maitre d' opened the double door and welcome us in. Inside was spacious and tables spaced reasonably apart. We were lead to one of the two best tables in front of the semi-open kitchen, signifying a great meal ahead. We were given a regular menu to choose from the 5 or 7 course meal plus couple other supplementary courses. Regrettably I forgot to take pictures of it. We ended up with the 7 course meal plus one supplement course of a langoustine ravioli with white truffle to share. As the menu is seasonal I am not going to elaborate on the dishes. Just know that every single dish was of quality and prepared delicately to perfection, sparing no details and offering high end ingredients. Beautifully presented and visually stunning enhancing and elevating one's dining experience. Worth every penny, not to be missed if you are financially manageable. It's a 3 star Michelin restaurant so You know it's damn good. It was so Simply fantastic. It is located in the National Gallery so it wasn't the easiest to find. The service was impeccable, the food sublime and the ambience was elegant. Was is it expensive? hell yeah but we'll worth every penny and I was actually full by the end . They had some small batch sake which was fabulous. All the fish and uni was from Japan and most of the meats were from France . Went for my birthday while in Singapore for Formula 1. Try to make it here.

A really great overall experience in a gorgeous restaurant! Service is great with a great wine list. I had one of my favorite port wines at this restaurant and wish I had taken down the name of it!

My husband and I went to Odette when we visited Singapore, and overall it was a great experience and certainly at the level of a Michelin 3* restaurant, even before the pandemic. Around the world, service standards have suffered, especially at the higher and restaurants. That was not evident here because all the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable and present. A special remark goes to the staff who seamlessly interacted with us on different courses while still being aware of what we had eaten previously. My husband and I split the two menus, so I got the vegetarian and he got the meat option. This way we could see everything that they offered. And also, the wine pairing was completely different, which was a bonus. I won't go into all of the dishes because there's too many, and they are liable to change, but the highlights were the uni and caviar, the charred avocado, and the gorgeous smoked egg. Odette probably had the best wine pairing that I've ever had at a restaurant. Some wines were unattainable because they had great relationships with Italian wineries. Some wines were very expensive on both menus, and I say that because oftentimes it's just cheap white wines from the previous year on these venues, but that was not the case here. They even had some very high-level California reds that we had not had before. There was a lot of variety of wines between the vegetarian and meat menus. Wine service was seamless and the multiple wine servers were very knowledgeable about the offerings and why the pairings worked. Overall, a great meal, and certainly a highlight in Singapore.

I see why they have 3 Michelin stars! In terms of execution, concept of the dishes, menu progression, and balance of flavors, they've hit the spot on every criteria. Service was impeccable - our server, Sarah, was warm, hospitable, and knowledgeable of the food and menu. The restaurant is located inside the National Gallery, and is comfortably decorated. I'd say it was worth the splurge!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food with attentive service in the 3 Michelin Star
Great food with attentive service in the 3 Michelin Star restaurant which is located inside the national Gallery . It can be hard to find since the gallery is quite big. There are one vegetarian course and one non vegetarian 8 course meals. They have dishes with caviar, uni, prawn, blue lobster, fish, mackerel , pigeon, langoustine, desserts. At the end, they even give us a little take home gift. I absolutely love every single dish and their service is impeccable .
Be the first to ReplyOdette definitely lived up to their three Michelin stars.
Their wine pairing was one of the best I've ever had.

Odette has been on my radar for years but I finally had a chance to travel to Singapore. As you likely know, Odette is not short of accolades with Chef Royer and Wan manning the helm. It is a michellin starred restaurants that was #36 and 8th best in Asia (I don't get how that panned out on the 50 best asia list but it is what it is). It is located IN the national gallery. Not nearby but in it. The tasting menu is pricey running ~485 singapore dollars with supplement. The night we visited it was a langoustine ravioli with white truffle to replace the smoked hen's egg. In normal fashion, we opted to just add it on instead for an additional 205 SGD. Although we had delicious uni and caviar, the star of the night was the Scottish lobster in yuzu and saki reduction. When I think of each restaurant I visit, I ask myself, is there a dish that when I close my eyes and I can remember? This was the dish for me. The tender lobster with the sweet saki reduction and hint of yuzu was the pinnacle of the night for me. Obviously the langostine ravioli was covered with white truffle and had a nice hint of shiso but still nothing on that lobster! All in all, Odette falls amongst some of my favourite restaurants and truly a great experience. Highly recommended for your visit to Singapore.

TLDR: Odette is EVERY bit worth the hype and one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. It's no wonder a reservation is hard to get - this is once in a lifetime experience.SETTING: The restaurant is located within the National Gallery of Singapore, so in order to get to the restaurant, you walk through the ground floor of the Gallery. It's a very unique setting, in a very cool location. The interior is minimal, with all white/cream colors, round banquet style booths around the perimeter of the restaurant, and tables in the middle, with very comfortable seating. Tables are spaced widely apart, so you have privacy and lots of space. I loved the design of this restaurant - it was cozy yet classy, minimal yet opulent.FOOD: The food... God. I loved the story of Odette and the Executive Chef's inspiration behind his creations. You can tell how much he loves food just in the care and attention to detail given to each and every dish. When we started with some of the most delicious amuse-bouche we've ever had, we knew we were in for a treat. But we did not expect to be fully blown away by every single dish. Each time I didn't think it could get ANY better, it somehow did. Every single plate (in a long line of plates) was almost licked clean...and when I was full/didn't think I could take another bite, I surprised myself and did. Because it was that fantastic of a meal, nothing could (or should) be wasted!SERVICE: This is another factor in why Odette stands apart (and makes the difference between a 2-star Michelin place and a 3-star Michelin place). The staff here was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and hospitable. The presentations of each dish were like a beautifully rehearsed performance/dance. The service here only added to the incredible food and experience.VERDICT: Odette will stand out in my memory as one of the best meals of my life. When I'm in Singapore again, and if I'm lucky enough to come back, I will be here in a heart beat! Until then, I highly recommend those lucky enough to be in Singapore to make a reservation here. You will not regret it!

My boyfriend and I were excited to get the chance to experience Odette after seeing that it was ranked best restaurant in Asia and the fantastic reviews. We booked dinner reservations for our last trip to Singapore about a month in advance and chose the non-vegetarian tasting menu when we arrived. The location is beautiful and in the National Gallery Singapore which makes it a great place to check off our bucket list of Singapore. Everything from the service to the food to the ambiance was great! Most of the dishes felt balanced and I particularly liked the Rosemary Smoked Egg, Mushroom Tea, and Kinki fish course. What I didn't like was the Smoked Pigeon which was too gamey and strong for me (I saw a few tables substitute this for a version of Hainanese Chicken which we probably should have done as well) and the dessert course which consisted of little treats which were just ok and a tad too sweet overall.
Be the first to ReplyOK. So when you get 3 Michelin stars and are voted the top
OK. So when you get 3 Michelin stars and are voted the top restaurant in Asia and Top restaurant in the world and I am heading to your town, you better believe I am going to stop in. Initially the prices terrified me, so opted for a lunch stop instead of dinner, and chose to have wine by the glass rather than a pairing. Great year to go as the US Dollar finally had the upper hand.I will say...HANDS DOWN the best meal I have ever had. For starters, having an entire vegetarian/plant based option menu is something that the US just needs to get behind.Service from the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave is impeccable.Food presentation is outstanding and every bite has so much to offer. The flavors were evident. I thought (because at most fine dining places this happens) we would leave still feeling hungry but indeed I was wrong. We were satisfied completely. We were not hungry until really late at night.Highly recommend coming to Odette in SingaporeFew tips: Book in advance, at least 1 month, and when you go, it is in the national museum, not easy to find as you have to walk through to get to the restaurant (the easiest entrance was blocked so we had to go around), allow yourself 10 minutes to get into the restaurant. The champagne that is offered soon as you sit down is not included, ask about prices before you agree to a glass.

My husband and I visit Michelin starred restaurants often, and Odette has made it to the top of our most favorite list!We came during our honeymoon trip to Singapore. The place was kind of difficult to find, since it's inside of a museum, and we came right when they opened. Immediately we were greeted by the friendly staff and the excellent customer service lasted the entire meal. The food was AMAZING. Every single dish we had was mind blowing and unique. Our top 3 favorites were: Rosemary Smoked Organic Egg (smoked potato syphon, chorizo iberico, meunière), Seaweed Butter Glazed Scallop (nori, menton lemon, sauce perle) and the Kampot Pepper Crusted Pigeon (sollies figs, black garlic, piedmont hazelnut). The desserts were also delicious and they even gave us a special dessert, compliments of the chef, to celebrate our honeymoon! Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking to experience some fine dining in Singapore!

Love everything about that place I would say you are really paying the experience of a life time to be there. Nevertheless. Great food. Every dish had a thought in it.

Worth the experience. Bread was addictive and the foie gras soup style was interesting!
Be the first to ReplyOdette is located inside the Singapore National Gallery, so
Odette is located inside the Singapore National Gallery, so it's kind of cool to be there after hours at night. There are a few other restaurants around it, as well. Though I wouldn't usually go for a French menu in an Asian country, I had read good things about Odette, so we decided to come here. Reservations are accepted 60 days in advance online, so if you want a Friday or Saturday dinner, you should plan ahead. We did dinner on a Friday night. The menu comes as "8 acts" for 358 SGD (about $260 USD), which isn't that outrageous if you look at the price for 3 Michelin star places in SF and NY these days. They also have a shorter lunch option available.Canapés - Tartlet with white chocolate and PX vinegar - Gougeres (a unique long shape) with tomato - Sweet shrimp with cumin, herbs, and avocado on a crisp Amuse:Mushroom tea Cep sabayon winter buckwheat and walnuts, mushroom tea, cep mushroom brioche with truffle butter Bread service: with salted whipped butter with buckwheat and extra virgin olive oil from Catalonia - Baguette - Sourdough- Truffle brioche There are 2 menu options: vegetarian and non vegetarian. Due to some dietary restrictions, they were nice enough to let me mix and match a bit. 1a. Promenade a Singapore: herbs and vegetables from local farms, with Japanese kombu and tomatoes 1b. Caviar and uni toast (regular menu)2a. Charred avocado: with pear and celery, vadouvan, apple sorbet 2b. Japanese mackerel with horseradish snow and tapioca cracker 3. Heirloom beetroot variation: with stracciatella, pomegranate seeds, and honey. The beets included smoked beetroot, beet sorbet, beet meringue. This was a very unique beet dish with lots of flavors and textures.4. Rosemary smoked organic egg: soft cooked egg with smoked potato and Iberico chorizo, brown butter foam. This is their signature dish and was probably my favorite for the night.5a. Variations of cabbage with romanesco and black truffle 5b. Foie gras and abalone with bbq pork puff, pickled shiitake 6. BBQ Kinki: Japanese fish with rutabaga puree, prawn, mousse, grilled squid, saffron sauce, dill oil 7a. Red kuri squash agnolotti: with parmigiano reggiano and black grilled mushrooms. I think my pasta dish was the winner of the two options7b. Charred, smoked pigeon from Brittany with a confit and bbq leg, deep fried heart, liver in a tart. The pigeon was very unique ad presented beautifully but was too gamey and strong for me.8. Cheese cart: beautiful cart, good selection, 38 SGD supplement9. Pre dessert: Grapefruit sorbet with mint foam, blood orange, green tea 10. Yuzu tart: with shiso and basil, yuzu sorbet, yuzu foam. I love yuzu, so this was perfect for me. It was a nice, light dessert.Petit fours:- Lychee and rose lollipop - Caneles (my favorite)- Musk melon - Mini chocolate tart They send you home with a cute jar of house jam, which is a nice touch.Service was on point (fresh napkins each time you get up, coordinated setting of dishes, etc), though I would expect no less for 3 stars. Overall, everything was solid, and it was a great special occasion meal, but nothing was super innovative or particularly standout for us.

While vacationing in Singapore, we dined at this fantastic restaurant, supposedly No. #1 Restaurat in Asia and it was recently awarded 3 star Michelin. So far, it is the best restaurant we've been so far. The food , service, location (inside a Museum) ambiance was what you expect at 3 star Michelin and the #1 Restaurant in Asia. Just awesome. Highly recommended.... It will cost you. $$$$ this is not for budget conscious foodie.
Be the first to ReplyOdette is an absolute experience.
While we were here for the Formula 1 race, we actually may have been just as excited to eat at Odette. There were a number of fantastic dishes we had during our meal, but the ones that stood out to me was the soft boiled egg dish and the quail presentation. I absolutely love the location of the restaurant and the decor (the ceiling!) was beautiful! Service was delightful, and I loved being able to peer into the kitchen.Getting a reservation is definitely a challenge here, so if you know you're going to be in Singapore, immediately start hunting down the date for when reservations are released. I would definitely love to come back here if we're ever in Singapore again!

During our recent trip to Singapore we had an opportunity to dine at Odette and was the best dining experience for us in Singapore. The service was impeccable, the flavor/taste and freshness of all the ingredients were perfect. We look forward to trying their other seasonal menu when we return back to Singapore next time.

"Best restaurant in Asia" is a title which carries a lot of weight. Lunch at Odette was certainly very good but maybe my expectations were too high.My friend and I had the 6 course lunch, we were lucky enough to be able to book around 3 weeks in advance. The reservation process was pleasant, they ask for a deposit and a confirmation. I was a bit confused why they asked for another confirmation: once seemed enough for me, especially considering the cancellation policy of taking your deposit if you are a no-show. Nevertheless, service wise, I have nothing to complain: all staff was extremely attentive and friendly, despite the fact that the restaurant was filled with fellow chefs and food critics (we were there during the world's best 50 event).Foodwise it was also excellent. I felt like all dishes had a clear focus, was extremely balanced and highlighted the ingredients. My faves were definitely the Rosemary Smoked Egg and the Red Mullet. Especially the Smoked Egg with the potato tasted like my favorite comfort food (mash with a soft boiled egg) elevated to Michelin status. So overall great food and excellent service... so why no five stars? I don't think it compares with the former greatness of Andre... I think Odette does classics to perfection but lacks innovation. If I read some of the older reviews, I've noticed that the dishes stayed more or less the same over the years. A restaurant in this league should lead innovation but hey, if mr Michelin and mr World's Best 50 disagree with me, I might be wrong or maybe it is personal preference?I'll definitely want to go and try the dinner offer and see if they can convince me to add that 5th yelp star!
Be the first to Replyyes it is a 5 star in yelp for a 2 star restaurant.
service, food, ambience and overall experience is comparable to what we paid for. We can see the difference between Osteria Francescana vs Odette especially in its service and creativity. Otherwise all good.

Oddette is probably in the top 5 best meals I've had in my life. I want to say top 3 (with Tickets and Akelarre as some other meals in that tier for me). I felt like the value of ambiance, service, and food was fairly matched by the cost of the meal. We went on a weekend so they only offered 6 course or 8 course for lunch and originally we wanted to do the 5 course they offer for lunch on weekdays, but it's hard to get a reservation here so we took whatever they could offer. If you want to try this restaurant on a budget, go for lunch on a weekday and they will serve a S$128 4 course menu. Caution though, when you're budgeting for this meal, it's both on a financial and time dimension. This certainly isn't your one hour lunch and not even your 2 hour lunch, it took us 3 and a half hours! When they say 8 courses, what they mean is like 8 real dishes and they don't include the transitioning dishes that help cleanse your palate (which many restaurants would include as part of the tasting menu). Overall I think I counted around 15 dishes. Dish after dish combined the freshest and highest quality ingredients with beautiful execution. The ingredients were from a vast array of cuisines, including uni, pigeon, foie gras, caviar, truffle, scallop, shiitake, and so much more. One note that I have to make is if you set yourself a budget for this meal, when they ask if you would like some cheese (either a homemade truffle cheese or a cheese tasting) it's going to be extra and they don't warn you about it. It costs S$35 extra for the cheese. Was it worth it? We got to taste a lot of different kinds of cheese, both in taste and texture. However, there were maybe only one cheese we really liked (Ossau iraty) so probably not worth the cost. All dishes were amazing, my favorites would be the Hokkaido uni and toast, abalone with foie gras, rosemary smoked egg, and some of the amuse bouche. I don't want to ruin any surprises, but just sit back and enjoy the composition.

Odette was a fantastic meal, with impeccable service, in a wonderful environment. Each course was evidently well thought through, with the beetroot, pidgeon and mushroom soup as highlights. Some of the courses didn't quite hit the spot. The seaweed cured kinmedai was a bit whatever. The yuzu tart was slightly underwhelming. The presentation of each, though, was imaginative and well thought through - love was put into every dish.Overall, though, we left as very happy diners. $500 is a steep price point (incl 2 glasses wine) - but Odette is a fantastic experience, worth splashing out for.
