Dinner before comedy show
Perfect dinner before walking to a comedy show. Even better- Tuesday night trivia. Food was good with enough to choose for everyone to find something.

Best selection of local Chicago drafts for Happy Hour I’ve ever seen. The staff is outstanding and food is great! Highly recommend.

Be the first to ReplyOne of America's 100 best beer bars
There have been several previous attempts to turn this large and inviting space into a successful restaurant/bar. None succeeded. Until now. Old Town Pour House attracts customers like Biden collects votes. Located at 1419 North Wells Street in Chicago's iconic and historic Old Town neighborhood, it has been recognized as one of the most popular sports bars in the city. In 2013, it was hailed as "one of America's 100 best beer bars." It is an upscale pub with an enormous assortment of tasty bar food and a massive beer list served in an elegant wood-clad space with a mezzanine and outdoor seating. There are 90 craft beers on tap and several massive flat-screen TVs lining the bar. It is open from 4 to 11 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 4 to midnight on Thursday, 11 to 2 a.m. on Friday, 10 to 3 a.m. on Saturday and 10 to 11 on Sunday. Never a dull moment. Six of us managed to find seats for dinner recently and the venue was crowded. You would have thought they were still celebrating the Cubs' 2016 World Series victory. We started with pretzel bites with cheese sauce, Buffalo chicken dip, smoked chicken wings with mustard BBQ sauce, cheese curds, chicken tortilla soup, 1871 chili and Nashville hot and southern fried popcorn chicken with ranch dressing. For the main course, we indulged in a Pour House burger, an eight-ounce prime beef patty on a toasted brioche bun with aged white cheddar, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickle; a Smokehouse burger with house-smoked BBQ pulled pork shoulder, smoked provolone, BBQ bacon onion relish, Carolina mustard BBQ sauce and buttermilk onion rings; fish and chips with Alaskan doc, beer batter, malt vinegar powder, cole slaw and cornichon tartar sauce; a full rack of hardwood smoked St. Louis-style spare ribs with house-made BBQ sauce, spicy maple bacon baked bean and mascarpone creamed corn; a bacon cheeseburger with house-smoked candied thick-cut bacon, aged Vermont white and yellow cheddar cheese, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato and red onion; a pulled pork sandwich with hand-pulled house-smoked pork shoulder, house-made BBQ sauce, cider mustard, cole slaw, spicy bread and butter pickles on a Kaiser roll; and a smoked BBQ platter with St. Louis-style spare ribs, grilled chili rubbed wings and drummies, pulled pork, Louisiana hot links, lime gueso butter grilled corn and maple bacon baked beans. Dessert anyone? We shared large portions of peanut butter Snickers pie with an Oreo cookie crust, peanut butter mousse, whipped cream, Snickers and chocolate and caramel sauce. What do they do when they really have something to celebrate?

We had a very late lunch. The food, service and atmosphere was perfect. Go here. In light of current times everyone was COVID aware.

Very Friendly Staff. Great location and great beer selection. I would definitely go back to catch a game or grab a drink. Oh and the best part is the bathroom has glass holders. Lol

This restaurant is situated in 'Old Town', which we found to be a nice part of Chicago, walking through. We took the transit here and it dropped us off a couple blocks away so we had a nice little walk. Upon entering we were not helped straight away. The girl at the desk kind of stared at us for a beat, until we asked if we could sit down to eat. It's a large restaurant, and the seating is not too close together, so that was nice. We didnt feel like anyone overheard our conversation. We started with flights, as we really had been trying as much different local craft beer on this vacation as possible. We are really loving sour beers at the moment, so the Emperor's Lemon Saison was great, and the Strawberry Basil beer was a home run. That one might have actually been one of the best beers I've ever had! It was brewed at Forbidden Root, located in Chicago. We actually took a little road trip over to that brewery the next day and had more there. The other beer we tried were just some light lagers and pilsners. Can't go wrong with those. The best part of our meal was the beer, which was not made at the establishment. The food on the other end...well the fries were good, served with a spice on top. They were tasty. The burgers however, were nothing to write home about. I consider my husband to be the burger connoisseur and granted he had just had one at DMK Burger the day before that he claimed was the second best burger he's ever tasted, but this one was not impressive in his books. I had the Impossible Burger, which is the veggie option here, and I have to say it was one of the blandest veggie burgers I have ever had. It was also so thin it looked like someone sat on it. It was way wider than the Gluten Free bun and stuck out on all sides. I will say that it was nice that they offer Gluten Free options like buns, but I had so many better ones at other places in Chicago. The burger didnt look very appealing and really wasn't that good to eat either. Darn. Bit of a let down in the food department here, but the service was good. Our server seemed nice and was polite too. Probably wouldn't come back though.
