LOVE this cheeky, fun, hole-in-the-wall Taiwanese spot. I went with a group of Taiwanese expats and ordered every dish on the menu. And every drink, too. The service is friendly and on point. And everything was authentic and delicious. I can't wait to go again next time I am in NYC.

We are going back again and again to this gem of a restaurant for Taiwanese food. Always, fresh, spicy and crispy. Our top dish remains the shredded chicken in lettuce but try anything else. In retesting is the draft sake ( made fresh in Brooklyn). Enthusiastic wait staff, we love it.

I arrived 5 mins before 12 noon and asked if I could wait inside for 5 mins until the restaurant opened (before ordering lunch) - the answer was wait outside (it was freezing - NYC in Jan).
They obviously don't need customers - not the level of service you find in Taiwan
Avoid this place unless you want rude wait staff - I can't speak to the food, but will NEVER visit this place
Donโt want anybody to know: so good, so small
In London, our must go to restaurant for Taiwanese food has been discovered and it is difficult to get a table(Hunan). Now we found the same fantastic spicy, crispy, amazing food at 886 ( propitious numbers for Chinese people and the area code for Taiwan). Prices are reasonable, service is nice and fun. Stefani the GM is a gem. This is worth the trip to St Marks a funky area in itself.. Not your bland sticky Chinese food, this is genuine and delicious. The chicken hash in salad leaf and the three spoon bone chicken are fan-tas-tic! Portions are generous, you will enjoy the well packed ยซย doggie bagย ยป, they do takeout too. ah and Taiwanese beer, few but well chosen wines and sake. We will be back.

Have wanted to come here for a while but didn't want to show up without a reservation. So this time was able to make a last minute reservation on Yelp. On a Sunday evening around 6 the colorfully but dimly neon lit, long and narrow dining room is only full in the front section but by 7 pm it was completely filled. We sat in the back room in a kind of booth seat with hard benches but quite comfortable (you want to avoid the table at the very end which is literally right next to the bathroom). Other than that, the food - menu is not extensive - was good and pretty much met expectations. A couple of the noodle dishes were rather bland, but the three cup chicken was very tasty, so was the fried rice with Chinese sausage, popcorn shrimp, chili dumplings., and the Chinese spinach was one of the best. Was curious as to what interesting Taiwanese dessert they might have but they don't offer any at all. Overall a good restaurant with relatively reasonable prices. Wouldn't mind returning to try some of the other dishes next time we are in NY.
