We started our 33rd wedding anniversary weekend here.
Chefs kiss to the delicious food, Juliet had been amazing with her recommendations and her kind heart. The location and view are perfect.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant is in a great location with amazing views.
The servers were really nice and really wanted to provide the best experience. The entrees we ordered felt extremely watered down and the place seems super overpriced for the quality of food we received. The bruschetta after we added balsamic was good and we enjoyed our drinks and service. The chef even obliged our request of toasting up the bread for our pasta which was nice. The rest was meh!

Be the first to ReplyCalamari was awful, could have been so much better.
WAY TOO SALTY!!! Halibut - WAY TOO SALTY!!! Couldn't eat either, minestrone soup just ok. Won't be coming back.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a bday lunch for my girlfriend.
The views were great and they have a ton of windows. Our pasta seemed like it was freshly made and the food was delicious, although it was a little heavy on the oil. Overall the service was great and probably the highlight. I would recommend.

Found this restaurant along the water and found it to have terrific views, friendly staff, and affordable food. I got the spaghetti con vongole and my partner got rotelle with prosciutto. The pasta was fresh and delicious. I did find both dishes rather salty and heavy but did eat my whole plate.

Food is solid, service is cheerful, portions are generous, love the views. Go when it's nice enough to sit on the patio. The main dining room can get quite loud if you're over 50 (like me). The bar feels a bit sterile and austere, it could use some softening and warmth. Regardless the quibbles won't keep me away
Be the first to ReplyThe owner was very welcoming and kind.
We were able to eat outside with our pup, under the heater. We ordered the Calamari and specials - Mahi Mahi and Rock Cod, and ended with the Cannolli. So delicious! We were celebrating our anniversary and it was such a great way to spend our evening.
Be the first to ReplyCute place and decent food! Great location.
The owner was there checking if we were doing good. Got hit up by a drunk woman at the bar. 5 stars

What a pleasant surprise- we made a last minute change from The C restaurant to Osteria Al Mare and we could not have been more pleased. One of my daughter and I got the swordfish special with spinach and Parmesan risotto and it was melt-in-your-mouth great!! Hubby had the lightly breaded sand dabs with pesto pasta and he thought it was quite good. Other daughter had the Pollo Piccata (minus capers she asked to be omitted) and it was very tasty. Our Italian waiter was very accommodating and so pleasant! View would be beautiful in the daytime. We went at night but had a wonderful time. Also liked that it is a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of cannery row. Kinda tucked away so easy to miss, but definitely worth seeking out!

Looking for delish food and even better service??? Come here! We visit Monterey frequently and wondered why we haven't stumbled upon this place any sooner... we came here for my birthday dinner.Dining here made us feel like we weren't in Monterey. It is located on an upper level (be prepared to walk of a few steps). It is quaint and very cozy. Probably no more than 30 people? 40 tops? Although there is a small bar area as well with high tops. There is outdoor seating but I can only imagine when the weather permits. I highly suggest making a reservation!!! The host, I wish I grabbed his name, was the most welcoming and the kindest person I've ever met! He truly made our experience memorable. Greeted warmly and treated amazingly throughout our entire dining experience. His Italian charm shone through the evening Let's get to the food...OYSTERSFor their specials, they had fresh oysters and these were the most delicious ones we've had in awhile!!! Usually we have to doctor it up but this with their mignonette was outstanding. LA ROMANA Caesar salad! Fresh, crunchy, and served with anchovies (the right way and the only way to do it) FETTUCINE FUNGHI *Truffle. Pasta. HEAVEN! My favorite. Their homemade pasta noodles put it over the top along with the generous amount of mushrooms. This is truly my new favorite. Not overpowering what so ever and the portion was more than enough. We accidentally got served the fettucine with seafood and must have had a mix up in the kitchen... so we got to try that and that was also fresh, tomato goodness! The seafood with this dish were great too. I do recommend this for those who want a variety of seafood with a tomato sauce. STEAK Hubby was craving steak and needed a break from all the seafood we've been having and it was quite yummy too! Paired with vegetables. Their wine list is great. I opted for one of their mixed spritzers with fresh lemon and prosecco. Next time I'll probably have a glass of wine. Parking is plenty full.We will be back, as long as they keep doing what they're doing!

Service and Location: 5 StarsThis restaurant was highly recommended by two colleagues who frequent the city and Daniella, a local Yelp friend, all of which would give the place five stars, but I am a litlle pickier.Ambiance:Attractive pace, but the lighting should match the prices. I was paying romantic dim-light prices for something that had deli lighting. I know the lights dim because they accidentally dimmed them during our meal, just for a second, enough for me to start making out with my bread.Food: My colleagues loved their food. The clam chowder was creamy and buttery (could be top 3), but not recommended for salt-sensitive people. The ravioli al ragu was great, though I wish the portion was bigger. My colleagues loved the arincini, but they were small like Swedish meatballs with not much sauce, so they didn't feel homemade. They normally come 4 to a plate but they gave us 5 to accommodate everyone in the party. 5 balls is nice. It was like being with Lance Armstrong and his two brothers.

The food was amazing, the view absolutely beautiful, but the bartender Mike was the icing on the cake. He was very attentive and made my first time sweet and painless. His drinks are very tasty I recommend his signature margarita as ur first drink u will not be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyFound a gem of a place in Monterey for dinner.
Had some amazing scallops over ravioli, Ken ordered short ribs. Finished off dinner with a raspberry cheesecake. We will definitely be back.

If you want wonderful italian cuisine and a welcoming restaurant, I think I found my warm hug on a cold winter. Felt so comfortable.
Be the first to Replythe server we had clearly was treating us different.
she was rude and short with us. she only took our order and when she did she didn't seem to even want to be there. she was in a rush to get to us and get out. as for the other tables (non poc) were socialized with. She chatted with them and laughed with them. Our server ignored us as much as she could. she didn't tell us the specials, then told another table she picks and chooses who she tells the specials to. I wonder why? she also didn't check on us at all (other than refills). did not ask if we were doing okay or how we liked our food... which is usually the case in nicer dining settings. she checked on all the other tables in her section but us. I left her a small tip just because I didn't want to be rude. I feel like I shouldn't have tipped at all though... her service was awful. she then complained to another worker about the small tip I left her. she rushed us out as well. We did not come dressed super fancy and that makes me wonder if she assumed we didn't have the money to afford or tip well. We did not look like other customers in there but we deserve the same treatment as everyone else. I try not to think it is about race or classism, but it felt like it today. I know when I'm being treated differently. It was clear today. Food was yummy. The other workers were kind. But because of her I would not come back nor would I suggest this place to anyone. I can get yummy Italian at other places where I won't feel outcasted from. The host molly was sunshine to me. She was so kind and warm to me. I wish she was my server. I would've loved to tip her instead. She was a lot more personable and kind.
Be the first to Replymeh, the food was a bit salty for my taste.
the short rib was just ok, ive had better. plenty of other places to try before coming back here

As a local this is one of my favorite dinner spots on the peninsula. Local tip #1 Always have the incredible and unique La Pera salad! Tonight was especially fantastic with the special local cod, with mushroom ravioli and brown butter sage! Generous portion and three of the four of us ordered and not a bite left on the plates. We also had a sea bass cake (like a crab cake) that we were blown away by. It was so good if given the choice I think I would choose over any crab cake. The fourth person with us had the piccata chicken with angel hair pasta which is always a winner too, if your not up for seafood. Mauricio - I'm pretty sure I love you!

YUM! This place is a great little place to take in the marina at Monterey! GREAT VIEWS! And the food was spectacular! We've only been here once, and our one-time experience was excellent... I had the smoked salmon over cream cheese and capers on bruschetta. It was fantastic! I could have eaten a dozen more! I also had the clams in delicious broth with crostinis on the side... and also fantastic bowl of clam chowder. Everything was just perfect! I also had a glass of Pinot Gris that was very good (house wine). My wife had the mushroom and truffle ravioli with prosciutto and arugula on top. She said it was amazing, and the single bite that I had was amazing indeed! The only negative to this place was the price. Wow. But then again I think anything along the water's edge or along Cannery Row is going go be pricy. Go here for some delicious, but pricy, delicacies.

Every time I have a meal at this amazing restaurant I come away so happy. Their food is EXCELLENT, their service is top-notch, the people who work there love their jobs and the view is truly gorgeous. We just hosted a lunch for 22 people there and they did an incredible job. Thank you to each person who works there!

Food and view are phenomenal! We had the salmon, chicken piccota, and Ravioli Ragu. The piccota was so good. We finished with cannoli. I'm partial to my husband's take on his grandmother's cannoli recipe, but this was still good. It has a hint of lemon zest, which was fun. The gentleman who sat us and woman who filled our waters were great. Our server was only ok. She wasn't very "hands-on" and couldn't make a recommendation for my husband. She also didn't share the specials or really greet us and was never around. I heard of the specials and several more desert options when another server was greeting/serving his table. Anyway, the food, location and ambiance were phenomenal.
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite seafood spot on or near the wharf in Monterey.
They offer great seafood with an authentic Italian twist as well as other Italian dishes. Great location and service too!

Love the owner and his passion for great Italian food! We are big fans of Maurizio's in Morgan Hill so when this opened nearer to where we live we were thrilled. Had a birthday celebration with friends and now we're visiting this Saturday for the friend's birthday! Try the lemon dessert. Amazing.
