Great Fresh Pasta BUT....

Heard a lot about the fresh pasta at Osteria da Fortunata, we had to try it. Unfortunately we also ordered prosciutto (4 slices; FOUR) and carciofi alla giudia as appetizers. Way OVERPRICED!!!! The tiramisu (so looking forward to it) was actually not that good. The fresh pasta carbonara was really good... really good. But all in all...... soooo overpriced. Just go for the fresh pasta, it is so filling you don't need to eat anything else at all.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The evening started with being told it would be a few minutes to a table, not a problem. About 15 minutes later and an argument between the waiters on what I think was who was going to seat us we were seated. We ordered suppli, cacio e peppe and carbonara. The suppli was wonderful and very tasty but when the pasta dishes eventually came out they were disgusting and inedible due to thick hard pasta and overall being cold. We sent back both dishes and if possible they came back colder then when we sent them back. The staff were the most rudest and obnoxious people we’ve ever come across in our time in Rome. We ended up going to McDonald’s afterwards which was 10x nicer. Save your money and avoid it here. Try tonnarello in trastevere instead it’s well worth the trip!

I am sure they put a lot of hard work into making the homemade pasta. However, our service was the worst we have had since we arrived in Rome 9 days ago. We felt as if we were a burden and being ignored. I took Covid into mind, but realized they did seem to have enough staff. I have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. Our server's name was Antonio. Other staff in the restaurant seemed good; however, we must not have been too lucky. Would not recommend. Rome has many other wonderful places to eat with a much better atmosphere.

Our meal tonight was delicious! Fun to watch the chefs making the pasta. Great portions and reasonably priced. We all had different menu items and there was plenty to share and enjoy. Excellent service too! Definitely a good place to eat when in Roma!

Just best pasta in Rome! We had supplì, fiori di zucca, gricia, amatriciana and tiramisu. Everything is so so good and authentic Roman food. Please go there aware of the meaning of osteria and you won’t be disappointed! Food quality was definitely worth the wait.

We waited in a well organised line and were seated in about 20 minutes. Our waiter did his utmost to help and service was quick and proper. Helpings looked small however portions are ample. Pricier than was expected but thr experiece made it worthwhile.

This is probably the first review i have ever written but I am so disappointed and don't want anyone else wasting their money! We were very excited to visit this restaurant on our trip to rome however it didn't live up to the hype at all. If you enjoy queueing for 1+ hours for below average food, go here! The service was shocking, pointed to a seat outside which we had to find ourselves and 10 minutes later menus were thrown down on the table. To get the bill we were told our table number and to go to the desk inside where the cashiers were both on the phone and completely uninterested. I don't even care that the service was bad but for the hype and cost this was very unprofessional. As for the meal, we ordered carbonara which tasted like cheap mac & cheese. We tried to go the day before however the line was too long so we decided to go elsewhere and went to the restaurant next door (hosteria grappolo d'oro). This place was fantastic and certainly deserve your money. Service was fantastic and food delicious. In short - go elsewhere, don't waste your time, completely not worth it.

This restaurant was heavily recommended and hyped up on social media and we were really excited to go. Upon arrival there was a huge que (roughly an hour wait), we therefore opted to go the next day. However the que for a table brought up our expectations for our visit. The next day we managed to get a table outside, however the table was crammed in the corner on the cobble road and would violently tilt under slight pressure. Finally, after sitting for 15 minutes we finally received a menu, which was thrown at us ignorantly by the waiter, we tried to stay positive and let the food do the talking. We ordered Suppli for our starter and this was extremely bland and dry. Once we had finished our starter the waiter came over and took away our plates and decided to throw back our used forks to keep for our main course. A singular piece of cuttlery for the meal, (any chance of a fresh fork let alone knife at all?!). We both had the carbonara for our main course, this tasted like microwaved packet Mac n cheese sauce nothing homemade of the sorts, as well as this the pork cheek was majority fat. Wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, overall a shocking experience. Don’t believe the hype.

It's amazing dinner with a show featuring the cooks rolling out the pasta in the middle of the restaurant. Staff was friendly, spoke good English, & a great location only a block away from the Piazza Navona. Highly recommend.

This place is fantastic! From LA and I've been in Rome for a few years. I honestly can't believe it had only 4 stars at the time of my going because it's one of the best restaurants I've been to in the city. They make the pasta by hand right there and serve it completely fresh. The Carbonara and Amatriciana were excellent and the little sweets they brought at the end were great too...I hope more foreigners and tourists see past the star count because I guarantee a lot of people are passing up this gem.

During the holiday season, I asked one of the waiters, "are you open tomorrow (would be Christmas Day)?"He says, "We're open every day."And they were. So, we had a fallback for any day others were closed. The pasta is made fresh in both locations (which are rock-throwing distance apart). I mean you are literally watching one or two 'operaio di un pastificio' craft pasta of all sorts from big balls of dough. It's theater, but the performance doesn't end when someone carries a big board of this just-made stuff off to the kitchen. It comes back as Carbonara or Cacio e Pepe, or Amitriciana. Seeing the pasta being made among the tables is a treat. The payoff is very good and it's always perfectly al denté. The pizza is better than run of the mill, with a nice chewy crust that stays a part of the experience until that bite is done. We had the Napoli (2X) and the Margherita. But, wait. The surprise meal here was the polpette. We were eating pizza and the guy next to us got polpette. Just meatballs, no potatoes or other side. Just mounds of tomato sauce. So the next time we came in, we ordered them. They were as good as they looked. So, at least order some to share with your friends. You'll all be glad you did. We ate here six times over 17 days in Rome. It was admittedly in our neighborhood and a sure bet for nights when we wanted to take a break from walking and taxis.

There was a line when we arrived but it was less than a 15 minute wait. We got seated inside. We ordered the bruschetta, mozarella in carrozza, pesto, and saltimbocca alla romana . Apparently the pesto was out so ordered the the ragu instead. The brushetta is different and I wasn't used to this preparation but it was okay. The ragu was good and nothing spectacular. The saltimbocca actually ran out so they brought another dish but had to send it back because it was beef. Customer service was great but food was okay. Lots of locals and the place is packed inside and the outside seating.

Not only we're the servers rude, but the clientele were also extremely rude. They thought we didn't understand Italian but we caught on to little bits and pieces and KNEW they were talking smack about us. We wouldn't have cared but they were sitting literally 1 foot away from us giving us all kinds of stares. The servers acted like they didn't hear us when we ordered things in English so I decided to speak to them in Spanish and got a totally different response. They were much more respectful. The food WAS NOT worth the experience at all. Prices were higher than other places. Do not go here. Not worth it.

We were polite and tried speaking Spanish but the staff and other clients alike continued to speak about us in Italian (as if we could not understand) and stare at us while we were just trying to enjoy our food. People that came after us were served before us and treated much more respectfully, and they did not bring us anything in a timely manner. Do not recommend. Overpriced as well and snobby staff.

maybe my american tastebuds are uncultured??? but everything here was really salty and heavy :~(all the pasta was homemade which i appreciated but unfortunately it was all super thick. we ordered amatriciana, bolognese gnocchi, ravioli, and carbonara. we also tried their mixed fried foods appetizer and the osso buco.i would skip out on the mixed fried food.. it wasn't really crispy. i would also avoid the ravioli.. the flavor was just not there and the dough was so thick. the carbonara also just didn't do it for me. i did like that the meat was reaaaallly crispy and stayed crunchy throughout the meal tho! the flavor of the osso buco was good, but the meat itself was kind of tough :~( the favorite of the night was definitely the amatriciana! the flavors were more balanced than the rest of the dishes. the portions were also HUGE!! the bolognese gnocchi we got easily could've fed three people. definitely should've ordered less pasta bc the four of us could not finish everything we ordered.overall this place seems very popular but it's not my fave and i won't be back if i'm in rome again.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?

Best Answer It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Best Answer Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

Best Answer Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Best Answer Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

What happens if my bid expires unanswered?

Best Answer Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
