I wanted to enjoy it, but waitress was condescending.
She actually said, "this is not the build your own pasta kind of a place." I was simply asking her if there's anything vegetarian on the menu. Do not come here if you are vegeterian. Everything was too salty.

Be the first to ReplyStill one of the best in the city.
The pastas are outstanding. The bruschettas are scientifically balanced perfection. The Food, ambiance and the service are top shelf. This continues to be our favorite celebrating spot.

Just cut it out right now and stop scrolling on yelp if you found this place. Let's get right into it. Walked in, greeted quickly and seated right away even though we were 10 minutes late (we're cringy I know) it was perfectly crowded enough to people watch and also enjoy the noise level. Catalina was our server and she was prompt, professional and charming. I believe the other girls name was charity (forgive me if I'm wrong) and she walked us through the menu and answered all our questions which I love. The food was pretty damn delicious. They were smaller portions but worth every single bite.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is great for a more expensive & high end place.
Desserts are not my favorite here, however I love the orrechiette with Swiss chard! So yummy! The steak is also amazing here & so is the garlic bread. Ambiance can be super Laois in the first room or a little quieter in the back room (but it's darker). Service is pretty good too but slow for refills.

We had a reservation for the late valentine's dinner at the Osteria Mozza. The server was very friendly and informative but our pasta took almost one hour to be served. By the time we had the pastas, we had to leave so we asked a different server for To go boxes, and he took our pastas to the kitchen. What surprised us at the time of leaving was our pasta were dumped and they offered us freshly make them again. Since our Uber was there, we just asked partial refund. It was a first time for us tried the restaurant but honestly disappointed a lot. Not sure we want to go back, but hopefully it will not be like this next time.

5 stars Ambience: 4 stars Service: 2 stars (for main server) and 5 for other server (not ours, but she was really nice and helpful) First thing: At a restaurant with so many sections of the menu, why are you insisting we order everything at once? It's difficult to know how hungry we are going to be after the first or second course and ordering everything (other than dessert) at the same time is clearly intended to rush us along. We didn't appreciate it, we were made less confident in what we were ordering and how much food we'd potentially be wasting, and it just felt not.. welcoming or hospitable. At a restaurant at this price point we shouldn't feel rushed, especially with at least 1/3 of the restaurant having available seats and tables for the two hours we were there. Second: Our server was very cool and aloof, rarely came to check on us, and another server ended up taking care of us most of the time. Thank you, Jenn, for being so great. Third: Everyone we entered with was rushed through and out by 1 hour 10 minutes after they ordered -- and these were multi-course dinners. We were there the longest at 2 hours and 15ish. This included cheese course, salad, appetizer, pasta, entree, coffee and dessert. That's just nuts. Fourth: The food was really good and so were the drinks. Ultimately, we may be back. I've been coming here since they opened and I've always enjoyed it, but before COVID they started this ordering everything at once thing (not consistently though, because we have gotten out of it on occasion after some complaints), but the feeling of being rushed is just getting so much worse. We're here for good food, good drink, and good hospitality at this price. You succeeded on the first two but absolutely sucked on the last one. Be better, Osteria. You're not good enough to make up for how badly you rushed us through our $500+ dinner. PS: Jenn, you're the only reason we didn't complain to the manager. Thank you for helping to soften the blow of the rest of the experience. You were great.
Be the first to ReplyWe ate there last night.
Food was ok but nothing to write home about. There are much better Italian restaurants than this one. Back in the day this place was unbelievable. Wasn't even busy which tells you a lot. Save your money.
Be the first to ReplyHad a great night at Osteria Mozza this weekend.
We got corner seats at the mozzarella bar and delighted in watching the preparation of the delicious looking charcuterie selection. We ordered the anchovies and mozzarella which was surprisingly scrumptious. We then ordered the Pici pasta and the pork shank. The shank was tender, juicy and very flavorful. Maybe a bit on the heavy side. The only note I'd make would be that the pasta, though light and had a beautiful bite to it , was slightly bland. Any complaints though would be immediately forgiven as the service was friendly, helpful and absolutely impeccable.
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant never miss a beat well crafted cocktails.
I tried the red butter lettuce salad for starter and had the branzino as my main dish both did not disappoint. Service is top notch the attention to detail. And truly staff makes you feel well taken care thanks John.
Be the first to ReplyWe have come here twice now.
Once for an anniversary and once for a birthday dinner. OM is one of our favorite that we talk about and always long to eat at again. Only downsides? Its far (melrose/beverly hills), its expensive ($80 pp minimum the way we order), and has no parking ($15 valet only)Now that we got the negatives out of the way... the food is DIVINE. We have tried many things off their menu and everything is delicous. Favorites are the shaved meat platter, mozz wi side accompaniments, pasta favs are the yolk raviolo, bolognese, and sausage orchiette. Mains we loved are branzino and steaks. And for dessert, always check on their seasonal gelato pie. Always delcious.Be prepared to shell out the $$$ but this is def a nice date spot to celebrate special occasions. Service is always top notch and its a beautiful romantic restaurant. Cant go wrong wi anything on the menu 10/10 always.
Be the first to ReplyI was excited to try this Michelin Star restaurant.
The appetizers and 1st courses were great albeit a bit too rich. The pastas were incredible but less would have been better. We were told we should order one per person, but they were too rich for that much... but really good.Unfortunately, the main courses were a total let down and a lousy way to end the meal. The wagyu beef was full of gristle and could not be cut. The mushrooms were great but the beet was an embarrassment. The rack of lamb was mediocre as was the over kill herb on the couscous. My husband was looking forward to the flourless chocolate cake with house made chocolates. It was not on the menu. Nor was any chocolate option. We left feeling loaded down, not well nourished.
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambiance but so over rated.
Very pricey, portions are small, and doesn't taste anything like an Italian place.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was great.
My favorite was the raviolo, it was well balanced and creamy. The service was good, the staff was tentative. The ambiance was decent, it was a tad to loud by the bar but all was better once we were seated.
Be the first to ReplyWe had made birthday dinner reservations at this restaurant.
It was our first visit. The hostess took us to the furthest out table next to the service door when there were plenty of tables in the main dining area. We requested a different table, and they accommodated us. Waiter started off as attentive and friendly. Appetizers, pasta, and wine were good and timely. Then we waited and waited and waited for our main course. Waiter never came to check on us as to why we hadn't received our main course. Finally, after over 30min we received our food and my husband's steak was cold. Bus boy called a manager who proceeded to tell my husband they serve the steak at room temperature??? My husband returned his steak. We had half of two main dishes left. Another manager came by and with a very rude tone said "can we clear this" I pointed to the two main dishes and asked to have them boxed. When we arrived home noticed only one dish had been boxed. I called and requested for a message to be sent to the manager to call me, explaining our experience to the reservation lady. It's been two weeks and no one bothered to call. Won't be going back.

Be the first to ReplyMy awe for Nancy Silverton's approach to cooking began
My awe for Nancy Silverton's approach to cooking began about one year ago, at which point I watched her episode of the Netflix series Chefs' Table and almost instantly became enamored by her commitment to simple, authentic ingredients. After that, it would be a few months before I would listen to her detail what makes mozzarella so irreplaceable on an episode of Ingredient Insiders, one of my favorite podcasts and one I would recommend highly to any fellow foodie. It was at the end of that episode that I resolved to one day visit a Nancy Silverton restaurant, the only challenge being that my native New York was far, far away from the Mozza Restaurant Group's Southern California home base. Close to one year after watching that fateful Netflix episode, I found myself sitting in the gloriously mellow, dimly lit dining room of Osteria Mozza, Silverton's Michelin-starred institution in the heart of Los Angeles. I was visiting with a handful of friends from my semester abroad for a weekend, and I joyously scored a reservation for the time of our trip. Osteria Mozza does a plethora of things well, from the paradoxically homey yet upscale ambiance to the delightfully knowledgable and attentive staff. The food only drove home this theme, pushing me to wonder over and over how a dishes so simple tasted so magical within these walls. My dining companions and I started off with a couple orders of the fett'unta, which highlighted some of the best olive oil I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. I am being entirely truthful when I say that this bread still crosses the landscape of my mind -- and often -- even a month after leaving the restaurant. We then ventured on to try Nancy's signature Caesar salad, which does so much with so few ingredients. Braised romaine leaves meet a sublime anchovy crostini with egg and leek to make for a truly unforgettable bite. What's more, this meal taught me that I genuinely enjoy anchovies, and enjoy them very much indeed. For the main course, I could hardly contain my enthusiasm when I glimpsed butternut squash tortelloni with dates and radicchio on the menu. I've always been partial to autumn vegetables, with butternut squash holding the top spot in my own personal hierarchy. The staff generously grated Parmigiano-Reggiano atop the gorgeous plate, lending a delicious dose of umami to the perfectly spiced, sweet-yet-savory, pillow-like pasta that hid beneath. As I savored each bite, I fell awash in a wave of several fond memories -- mother's butternut squash soup from my childhood, eating dates at my kitchen table on hot summer afternoons, and my own attempts at making tortelloni in Florence with the very friends who sat alongside me at that table. If you find yourself in Los Angeles, or if you're up for making the trip, I can't recommend Osteria Mozza enough. Make sure to secure your table in advance, and then enjoy the wonder as it unfolds on plate and palate alike.Read more at letsgetdinner8.wordpress….

It's an iconic establishment in LA for a reason! Everything was amazing and unique and fresh tasting. A delight for any foodie. A must eat. Highlights was not only the entrees but the WARM olive oil cake dessert and the shaved Brussel sprout salad. They more surprised us vs expecting the pastas to be amazing already ! Cocktails are craft cocktails are a delight and well made . I don't even like grapefruit and I loved the grapefruit cocktail! The oxtail ragu, the Cacio e Pepe on point . Loved the side salad served at the end like in Italy!

We came here for a friendship anniversary dinner on a Sunday night,we did make reservations in advanceWe got two appetizers -Grilled Octopus (5/5) - the octopus was tender and smoky, they served the dish with refreshing celery salad. Great start to our mealBurrata & Artichoke (4/5) - The burrata comes with currant and pesto. The artichoke was soft and juicy, the creamy cheese goes amazing with the currant, and crunchy toasted bread. the aroma of pesto gives it a nice kick tooOur mains wereRabbit Ragu parpadelle (5/5) - The pasta itself was amazing, but the suace was even better. the sauce was luscious. the tomato was so sweet and the rabbit ragu was creamy, topped with freshly grated cheese- AMAZING Grilled Branzino (5/5) - The branzino was worth the wait, the dish took a while to prepare, but once it comes out we devour it. The waiter mentioned there's a bit of spice, but I didn't find the dish spicy. They serve the fish with grilled lemon and some side salad. I love this dishAtmosphere (4/5) - great for a celebration or date night. the restaurant is a little crowded, could benefit from less tables and more space, but the interior was beautiful. The decoration was well thought out, reminds me a bit of NYC restaurant vibes, love it. Service (5/5) - knowledgable staffs, very polite, we feel welcomed :)Price (4/5) - the dishes seems a bit expensive but together with the experience and quality of the food : worth the pricethere's valet and street parking around, I WILL BE BACK to try other dishes and cheeseeee!!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time trying real Italian food and was not
First time trying real Italian food and was not disappointed. Started out with their olive oil garlic toast and I figured it was just going to be a filler bread. But I was completely wrong because it was amazing and ended up ordering 3 more orders. The 2 main entrees I order were the orecchiette with sausage and tagliatelle with ox tail ragu. Both had amazing flavors but the tagliatelle was a much lighter dish to eat. Finished the ff the dinner with a Meyer lemon gelato pie. Overall it was an amazing experience and the ambiance was nice a quiet since the amount of people there was based on a reservation system. Will be coming back to try other dishes on the menu. Only negative thing I would add is that Joe Bastianich was not there when I was :X

This is a late review; my experience is from February! My boyfriend brought me here for Valentine's Day because we are big fans of Joe Bastianich. We waited by the bar while we waited for them to bring us to our table. The restaurant is nicely decorated and dimly lit. After being seated, our server was very quick to explain the menu to us and offer us drinks. For dinner, we had gnocchi with duck Ragú, the ricotta and egg raviolo, pan seared sea trout, and tagliatelle with oxtail ragú.My top favorites of the evening were the gnocchi with duck ragú and the ricotta and egg raviolo. The egg was perfectly runny in the middle of the raviolo. The trout was cooked very well and had a perfect crisp on the skin.So glad we had come here and definitely looking forward to coming back!
Be the first to ReplySuch good food 10/10 recommend.
The pasta is delicious and the atmosphere is great. Very dark and low lighting in the restaurant provides a more intimate experience. My friends were visiting in town for the week and this was one of the must try restaurants I took them too. Desert was also phenomenal as well and service is great !
Be the first to ReplyMy bf and I always wanted to try this place but the menu
My bf and I always wanted to try this place but the menu always threw us off - it looked too avant-garde with words that make us go huh? instead of omg! But we finally decided to give it a shot and can't wait to come back again! We devoured 6 dishes between the 2 of us with no leftovers lol Toasted Olive Oil Bread - 100/10 (not on the menu) we always like to order garlic bread, but the closest thing they had was bread soaked in olive oil and toasted and it was HEAVENLY. I forgot if there was garlic on it but it was savory. I also love sourdough so I might be biased, but this might be my new favorite toasted bread in the world! Nancy's Caesar - 1000/10, ok I was very skeptical about this and was blown away as a result. Each piece of lettuce was cut perfectly identical, and the toppings to lettuce ratio was perfect, no parts left behind. I like interactive food so this was very fun to eat because you build your own bite lol Fonduta Ravioli - 100/10, this is almost like an italian/cheese dumpling, I think it was our favorite. they serve it plain then drizzle the balsamic vinegar in front of you (you don't need to say when) Orecchiette - this was surprisingly delicious also, it reminded me of pizza. It's on the saltier side, but I would order it again! Shaved Brussel Sprouts - this was good! I could do without the nuts but it was a great palette/texture cleanser to all the carby bites Pork Chop - I can't find the full name of this on the menu anymore, but it came with a bone, and some apricot glaze? and some kind of beans. Anyways, it was really good! The apricot complimented the flavor of the meat. This entree came last and we were SO full but still managed to finish it. Parking is hard to find, they do have a valet but it's a separate company so they do not validate!

What a disappointment! Our first meal back inside at our favorite place & we walk away shaking our heads & wondering what happened? The salad & cheese that we received were delivered quickly & with the excellent quality we know at Mozza. 40 minutes later still no pasta, our original server had signed out, and the new server unsure where our dinner was. No apology. No offer to bring something else & as we are ready to leave she brings the pasta & asks would you like me to wrap it to go? We had lost our appetite & felt so disappointed that we just wanted to leave. While I get that Covid has changed the world there is no excuse for an overstaffed expensive restaurant to bungle an order & only say well I didn't put the pasta on the bill!?Really? Thank you. You didn't charge me for pasta I didn't eat? Such a shame. Easily could have been remedied with appropriate customer service. Do better Mozza. We expect more from you.
Be the first to Reply(+) 36-month white cow modenese Parmigiano Reggiano (+)
(+) 36-month white cow modenese Parmigiano Reggiano (+) Ricotta Cavatelli (+) Ricotta & Egg Raviolo Osteria Mozza is an Italian restaurant that specializes in handmade pastas and their mozzarella bar. The wine menu is extensive. The floor plan is inviting and service is one of the best I have experienced. Valet is $15, or try your luck with street parking. There were four of us, and we shared 2 antipasti, 4 primi, and 1 secondi. Perfect amount of food for my wife and a couple of friends. Food/Drinks: Everything was so tasty that it was hard to pick a favorite. My favorite is the ricotta cavatelli. I enjoyed the English peas and the subtle flavors incorporated into the pasta. The green garlic gave it an interesting kick, but thoroughly one of the best. Both Ragu pasta dishes prepared as usual. The most interesting, yet delicious dish was the ricotta & egg raviolo. How I would describe this, is an egg cracked open inside a ravioli with ricotta and baked, or pan seared with brown butter. The egg yolk when cutting into the ravioli spilled away onto the plate. The brown butter tasted so good with the spilled yolk. Service: Our server was Jennifer and she did an outstanding job. Her service and everyone who serviced our table is top notch. Small things such as folding your napkin as you step away, to big thing such as a small talk and going beyond to make our experience memorable and comfortable. The sommelier did an awesome job finding a bottle of wine for us that paired nicely with our food. He kept it within our price range and hit the nail when it came to our group's wine preference. Overall, I would recommend Osteria Mozza for your Italian needs. Everything on the menu was delicious. I had high expectations for this restaurant and all of my expectations were met and then some.
