We are what I may call flexitarians, but if veg food was always this delicious it would make it easy to not eat meat. From start to finish, the courses were incredibly flavorful. My favorite was definitely the oyster, but my mouth is watering just thinking of the entire experience. We decided to splurge with the wine pairing, and if you can swing it I would highly recommend. Those were some of the best natural wines we've tried, and we're pretty big on natural wines. So worthwhile, very generous pours, and really elevated our experience.If you read profiles on chef Rob, it gives you further appreciation of how sustainability is a core tenant in everything this restaurant stands for. Kudos to a team that takes every detail into account so thoughtfully.

I loved every moment of it. I felt like I was anywhere but in DC. Do the wine pairing. Every dish on the menu was thoughtful; every drink paired perfectly. This is what creative plant-based food looks like.

Won't get into the menu too much because it rotates but I'll say I've never been a huge veggie guy, and the thought of a meal without meat was questionable but I didn't miss it at all and throughly enjoyed the whole meal. Favorite was probably the mushroom ragout, the bread and "butter" was also a high point as well as the desserts but on the whole the meal was super consistent. Would recommend to anyone looking for a veggie meal or just something different

The ambiance is trendy yet cozy, and the staff are all so kind. I especially loved the explanations of the various wines paired with each course of our meal. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but this places tops my personal charts.

It's hard to say exactly where this restaurant falls on my favorites list but it's easily top 5, if not top 3. My middle name might as well be "meat" but I did not miss the meat in this meal one bit. Everything was perfect. The dishes all had excellent flavors and textures but my favorites were the celeriac, the salad with oyster, and the custard. I was also pleasantly full after the meal which I was a little unsure of going into it. We also got the wine pairing which was 5 or 6 glasses and was probably my favorite beverage pairing from any restaurant. There were some very unique wines you won't find anywhere else, and as they poured it they told you about the flavors, growing environment, and the winery. My only complaint is they don't have a phone number on their website or anywhere else. I definitely want to come back and try the other seasons' menus!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this establishment; I realize it can be quite hard getting a Michelin star from serving mainly vegetarian food. However, the creative utilization of umami from mushrooms and textural contrast, Oyster Oyster hits the nail on the head.Our menu consisted of the following: warming broth, crispy celeriac (smoked tofu, fines herbes), winter salad (crispy kale, turnips, kohlrabi, apple, Kent Island oyster, seaweed emulsion), mushroom ragout (grilled cabbage, heirloom beans, sauce of potato skins), badger flame beet bread (marigold butter), king oyster mushroom (black garlic, herbs, roasted carrot), steamed Hmong sticky rice (collard greens, honeynut squash), caramel oat & persimmon custard (sunchokes, pecans, nashi pear), and finally the shiitake chip cookie.The warming broth was absolutely packed with umami from the mushrooms that were utilized; this was a flavor packed way to start off the meal. They crispy celeriac served as a light, crispy, and crunchy way to tantalize the palate for the most substantial courses to come.The winter salad was the only course that offered a form of animal protein that featured a Kent Island oyster that was carefully nestled in a nest of constructed layered salad. All the components of the salad provided for a texturally diverse eating experience. What stood out in particular were the crispiness of the fried kale and the cool bite of the thin apple slices that worked in conjunction with the oyster.The mushroom ragout was a standout as well; it was intensely flavored and had an aggressive amount of umami and salinity that worked well when eating it with the provided bread which was based off of badger flame beet. It had a crispy exterior while having a golden pillowy interior; a very delicious and expertly executed bread. Next, came a very aesthetically pleasing medley of deep fried king oyster mushroom and roasted carrot on top of a sweeter black garlic spread. The Hmong sticky rice served as a complimentary base for the components of the king oyster mushroom dish and was quite savory and delicious without being too mushy or overdone.Finally, the dessert of caramel oat & persimmon custard was a unique way to finish off the night; velvety and gelatinous but not too sweet. The crispy sunchokes and pecans provided a much needed textural contrast to the custard. The shiitake chip cookie was unique and granular; kind of like a fiber health treat.If you want a wholly different experience devoid of meat but not skimping on umami packed flavor, come to Oyster Oyster.

Reservations were quite difficult. Overall loved the environment, food was BEAUTIFULLY prepared, delicious, and the wine pairing was lovely. Service was casual and comfortable. Zero complaints. It was a really great trendy spot for date night! Minus one star because at the end of the meal, it just wasn't enough food. And yes, I have a normal BMI with a really good appetite . 100% worth checking out especially if you like a vegetarian menu!

It is a prepay/price fix venue. The atmosphere is nice- it's small and you are near the open kitchen- a cool concept especially for the foodie. The service was nice and professional- not quite as personal as I like but very efficient. It is strictly vegetarian and locally sourced.Everything was very good with great flavor- dinner was pleasant and even though the portions are on the small side, you leave satisfied.

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
