Got the local catch fish tacos, served with pickled slaw
Got the local catch fish tacos, served with pickled slaw and avocado moco sauce. Wait staff and bartenders doing great work. Can beat the open patio concept for ocean air and rays. Why fish tacos? Because fresh catch is the bomb.

Why so many negative reviews? We're staying next door at the Westin Nanea. We couldn't get a seat at the bar n grill there so we walked over to the sister resort. The landmark is a food truck aptly named Pailolo. Come to realize later that's where the food is made. We spotted several empty tables from the boardwalk so we walked over and sat ourselves. We were soon greeted by a server who brought us water and menus. The three of us all ordered the fish n chips. Battered Ono. Cocktails - hubby had martini, I had a lava flow, and daughter had IPA. Our food came quickly. Small filets but very satisfying. Best battered fish we've had. After asking what's the coating we were told it's pancake batter. So onolicious. The fries were crispy and warm too. Pro tip: live entertainment on T-TH from 5:30p to 8:30pm. Last night (Tuesday) it was a solo guitarist. Both diners and non diners enjoyed the entertainment as the pool loungers are right there. Portion sizes are moderate. Just enough to ease any hunger pains.
Be the first to ReplyThis bar has an excellent view and outdoor seating.
Sadly the food is terrible. It is like eating frozen reheated boxed food. No flavor at all. The burger was dry and almost inedible. Don't waste your money on food here. Walk down to Duke's or another resort to eat. Not sure why Marriott cannot upgrade the menu. Drinks here are good (expensive) and the wait staff is friendly.

Good food for a food truck Always great food and the wait and bar staff are super friendly. Would love to see this one open earlier but get staff is tight but would sell a lot more poolside drinks

Best fish and chips I have had in forever, and I live in Seattle. Awesome staff, great drinks and super chill vibe. Best casual place to get a meal in the area!
Be the first to ReplyConveniently located within the Westin Ocean Resort Villas
Conveniently located within the Westin Ocean Resort Villas next to the beach and pool, Pailolo Bar & Grill is a good place to order meals and drinks while on vacation. The servers are friendly and helpful when deciding what to try out. There are plenty of tables on-site with good shading while enjoying the view of the beautiful and peaceful ocean during the day, and even better as the sun sets. The amazing view of the ocean and sunset can make it romantic with a casual setting. I ordered the following menu items (* = highly recommend) : *Food Truck Nachos *Island Fish Tacos Pound O' Wings Junior Cheeseburger The Food Truck Nachos are definitely sharable for 2-3 people. There is a generous amount of chips and BBQ Kalua Pork. I was also told that the Fish "N Chips are one of the favorites, but I ordered the Island Fish Tacos instead. The Island Fish Tacos are so deceiving because they appear small, but they are so fulfilling. The salsa that comes with the chips included in the dish was okay--just dip - don't heap the chips. The Pound O' Wings sizes are bigger than the typical winglets commonly offered from various restaurants, so when I opened the container, I expected to see more than 6 wings. They are good for a quick bite to eat by itself or on the side. The Junior Cheeseburger, I was told by my kin, was good but wasn't feeling the bun for some reason. The fries were good as well. There are plenty of cold adult beverages to try also, but since we had our own in our room, I didn't place an order even though I am very tempted to splurge and try something. You can order online by the QR code provided in the room, but the menu isn't the same as ordering in person and seeing the actual menu. Overall, try it at least once... well, maybe try it a couple of times, at least. If you love seeing the sunset, this is the place to enjoy good food, drinks, and the sunset ocean view.
Be the first to ReplyIt's typical resort food, edible but nothing great.
Good for a drink poolside but that's it.

Disappointing! We've been coming to the Westin Villas for 10 years and have always enjoyed the food at Pailolo. Not this time! We had the nachos - not good. Barely any cheese and was served cold. Was also shocked to see the prices on our favorite pretzel had been raised to $19 --- and if you want cheese with it, thats an extra $6 for a grand total of $25. Absurd. When we came last year the pretzel with cheese was $16. Oh, and happy hour no longer includes good, just $1 off drinks. We will no longer be eating here during our stays until they do something about their prices.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious food, excellent service and the best
Absolutely delicious food, excellent service and the best part is the ambiance and view. Literally ever table had a complete view of the ocean. We got the loaded fries which are a newer item and our kids flipped over them.... So good. We then got trophy burgers and one order of fish tacos. All the food was super fresh and again, delicious! The burgers were cooked to perfection and the fish tacos were very flavorful. Lastly we ordered their newer dessert which is I believe a mud pie and man was it mouth watering. Great presentation and absolutely delicious. All in all, can't go wrong with this place and I know we will be eating here many times during our stay.

I should've avoided this place like many reviews have mentioned but i wanted Nachos so i figured lets give it a shot. It's self seating so we grabbed a table. It took forever to someone to come over. I ordered nachos but the waiter said they are out of cheese so no Nachos .. ordered Fish tacos and Chicken sandwich .. both had no flavor. It's a good spot to may be grab some drinks, may be watch a game , it's got nice location and good view but do not go there for food

Service is abysmal!!! Stay away unless you like to get your own menus, own waters and have to ask to order after waiting 15 minutes for anyone to show up at your table. Food is marginal at best. Come on Westin, you can do better!!! And they charge you an arm & leg to serve yourself. Better off eating in your room! Bar line takes 22 minutes every time you need a drink!
Be the first to ReplyWelp, I finally get to write a bad review.
I don't like doing this, as you can see from my previous reviews. But this is a Westin resort and people are spending THOUSANDS to stay here so I feel like it's not asking a lot for the experience to be at least average. The first night we got here we went to the bar for drinks and for the price they were pretty watered down. They tasted okay but if I just wanted juice then I'd go to a juice bar. The bartender was supposed to give us happy hour prices--yeah, he didn't. Our third day we decided to go back for dinner. We got the drink special and again, it tasted like juice. I wouldn't be surprised if they have stronger drinks at an AA clinic. My gf got the nachos and they smothered half the nachos with "chipotle crema" which she said was just colored sour cream. This was way better than my meal but still pretty mediocre.I ordered the fish tacos and took one bite and it tasted like lukewarm cardboard. It's obvious they just take frozen fried fish then heat it up. The corn tortilla was cold and stale and broke easily and there was NO sauce so it was super dry. It was pretty gross and probably the worst fish taco experience I've ever had.If you're hungry or want drinks do not eat here. I know it's convenient because this is all there is to eat at this particular hotel. But just do yourself a favor and walk to any other Westin instead and eat there.Update: I'm starting to think this place has a vendetta against us or something. Ordered fries with side of cheese. How can they screw that up, right? Welp. They did. We opened the bag and all the containers were covered in cheese, very little actually stayed in the designated box. Why the hell were they not in small sauce containers?!? I don't understand this place at all.

Terrible service staff is rude not much food to pick from especially for children on the dinner menu. I would not go back and eat at this place. If it was the last restaurant on earth good luck you're gonna need it.
Be the first to ReplyWe went to this bar at the Westin to watch a football game.
The bar is open-air, nice location near the beach, and lots of TV screens. We got there about 15 - 20 minutes ahead of the game and asked if they would turn one of the TV's to the game (ESPN) when it started. We essentially got a "maybe". We were told we could sit anywhere. We picked a table near the bar. There were several waitstaff people around but none stopped at our table until we asked after about 15 minutes. It seemed that there was a mixup between the staff about who was assigned to our table. The server came over right away. We ordered a Mai Tai. He said they couldn't make one. They only had beer, wine and Mojitos. I asked why and he said their CO2 system was down. We ordered a beer and a Mojito on Happy Hour and a big pretzel. The beer was supposed to be an amber and he delivered a blond beer. We weren't sure enough to question it until we saw the check later and could see that he entered the wrong item. The Mojito was fine although I've never had a frozen one before. The pretzel was good but the cheese sauce was close to congealed when it came to the table. The taste was fine. The service was fine and the server was attentive. We ordered another round before Happy Hour ended. This time we asked for a darker beer and were told they had a red ale and a wheat beer. We asked which one was more bitter. The server said the red was more bitter. We ordered the wheat beer, another mojito, and an order of nachos. The wheat beer showed up and it was pretty red. We asked if it was the red ale or the wheat beer. The server said it was the wheat beer. He didn't double check or hesitate. He was sure. We didn't argue. When we got the check, he had keyed in the red ale. When the check came, in addition to the errors in ordering, the server had not discounted for Happy Hour prices on our last round and for the nachos. We pointed that out to him. He took the check, recalculated, but took off two 16 ounce beers and charged Happy Hour prices on two 22 ounce beers. We asked him to change it, which he did, no apologies. The bill was so confusing in the end that we couldn't really tell if we were charged correctly. We think we were charged for premium rum in the mojito which we did not order, but who knows. All in all, great game, lousy bar experience. We don't really know if the server was inept, just couldn't care less, or passive-aggressive, but it was one of those three. And since the food was ho-hum I'm pretty sure we won't return.

I popped in there for the 1st half of the MNF game, since I didn't know of any other place with free parking in the immediate area. It was OK, there were plenty of TVs, the Happy Hour offerings were "meh" and pricey to boot!! They offer buffalo fries but only one flavor of wings (not buffalo). It's a small bar with half of their tables covered and the other half in the open. It's not really a Sports bar atmosphere, even though they may try, because they're next to the pool area and all that that brings to the party. People at the pool order drinks from the side of the bar and the kids playing in the pool and the music can be easily heard and drowns out the volume of the game. If you're staying at the Westin Ka'anapali.
Be the first to ReplyVery crowded and super load being right next to the pool
Very crowded and super load being right next to the pool where they are blasting music. Very difficult to talk to the others in your party. Food is average at best. The drinks are better than the food. Don't expect much from this place other than a continent spot for a bite to eat while relaxing by the pool.
Be the first to ReplyAlways solid food and well crafted drinks.
Nothing super special about the food but the staff are top notch. Friendly, fast, knowledgeable.
Be the first to ReplyThis is the only "restaurant" on the North Side of Westin
This is the only "restaurant" on the North Side of Westin KOR Villas. See my other review for the resort itself. This is a food truck permanently parked alongside the hotel that serves burgers and sandwiches only. There are no entrees. The burger is $25 and is nothing special, fries come out soggy. The kids burger is borderline inedible and the chicken strips and fries are pretty medicine. Really disappointing that it's the only fresh food available without a significant walk.

We called to see how long the wait will be, but all they said was it was walk in only. We came right after calling and saw a family being seated before us, so we waited. No one came to check on us at the front and we're left waiting. The servers all saw us standing and waiting, but not one of them came to talk to us. After waiting long enough, we decided to just order take out. We asked one of the servers if we can order take out and she just pointed to the side of the bar. The bartender was nice and took our order. We ordered the fish taco + hurricane fries & the trophy burger + regular fries- fish taco was soggy, fish was dry, not much flavor- hurricane fries had a kick but was super salty- trophy burger was really dry- regular fries was crispy but saltyOverall, the food & service was terrible. It was not worth coming here.

We were a bit hesitant trying this place from reading the reviews but we were so tired and hungry from traveling to the hotel that we thought how bad could it be?Definitely pretty bad! I called ahead first to see if there was any wait, and they said no reservations just walk ins. When we got there, there wasn't a host in sight, they were severely understaffed and would rush past us multiple times without acknowledging us. After 10 minutes a couple showed up behind us also waiting for a table. We were all eyeing an open table but to my surprise that other couple walked up to a waitress and she told them they could take the open table. Even though my wife and I were there first! Finally we decided to just order to go which we found out can just be done at the bar. The bartender, while very very busy, was friendly and acknowledged us, which was one positive. After finally getting our food and bringing it back to our room, it turned out pretty subpar. The burger was dry, fries were really salty, fish tacos were soggy yet the fish was dry at the same time. For a resort hotel, you'd expect the overall experience to be a little better, but it slightly ruined our first night in Maui.
Be the first to ReplyLike dummies, we didn't check to see if if they were open
Like dummies, we didn't check to see if if they were open when we left our room to watch the Little League Championships, Hawaii vs Curaรงao. Not only did they turn on the tv to the right channel to watch the game (even tho they weren't officially open) but the bartenders and servers had a great time chatting and cheering for Hawaii. Madison was friendly and patient (we were busy cheering quite a bit) but she convinced us easily to specials and upgrades. Very much enjoyed our experience here along with the quality of mixed drinks, local brews, and pupus. The service and overall friendliness makes this our fav place to hang out.
Be the first to ReplyPailolo Bar & Grill never fails.
There's always something on their menu that tastes delicious! I stayed at the Westin Nanea Villas next door, the convenience of having restaurants onsite is awesome! Corey was such an amazing server super cheerful, friendly & had the Aloha spirit!I gave it a 3 star because i wasn't happy at how the female & male manager spoke to Corey in front of us & other customers. They need better management skills, give your employees breaks & please pull your employees into the office/to the back to speak with them! Don't embarrass them in front of customers.Mahalo!
