Palazzo Petrucci Ristorante Napoli Reviews from The Last Year
top experience
very positive starred experience Impeccable service at Palazzo Petrucci from arrival to the end of lunch. menu'LILLO you do it 5 courses from the chef free hand of high quality exclusive wines and a grappa at the end of the meal, to say the least sensorial! the average cost for a starred restaurant is in line with the experience!! great availability of the chef who also greeted us after lunch. magnificent view after all we are Naples!!! we will return as soon as possible!!!
Terrible dining experience
Terrible experience that I would not recommend to anyone, due to arrogance, rudeness and the quality of food of dubious origin. Greetings
A high-level culinary browsing experience
I return after a few years to this excellent Neapolitan restaurant. The excellent impressions of that time have emerged strengthened, or rather strengthened, by the experience. From the welcome, on the street level, until the end of dinner, in this place you experience pleasant sensations, starting from the table on the beach (but separated by a very transparent glass window, which isolates you from the rigors of the season). Conducted to the table, the attention of the staff begins, always present but never overbearing, even when they illustrate the dishes. The wine list is truly one of the strong points of the place; It's a shame not to be able to prepare before entering, because it would be worth studying it calmly, not forced by the technical times of the dinner. We tried the fish-based menu and left very satisfied, from the lasagnetta based on mozzarella and red prawns, to the calamari taglioni, candle with Genoese reduction and red snapper tartare, up to the dessert (decomposed pastiera). Returning to the wines, on which the mark-up is felt, it should be noted that you can really indulge yourself (we dined with a Trento DOC, a riesling from the Moselle Valley and a blend based on Friulano and Ribolla Gialla. In short, the the cost (not cheap, but perfectly corresponding to the experience and the Michelin star) is completely justified. We will be back...
Lots of smoke and little roast
We had dinner at Palazzo Petrucci, with a couple of friends, on Saturday 17th. We have some experience with starred restaurants and we honestly didn't imagine that we could be disappointed by a restaurant of this rank, but unfortunately, it happened. Upon our arrival we were invited to sit in a very beautiful setting for an aperitif which, believe me, you would think was offered. It is not so. Furthermore, the staff insisted that we all take the same menu, only when we complained did they reluctantly give in. Not yet arriving on the lower floor of the restaurant, we were afraid that the evening would take a turn for the worse. So it was. The environment is very nice, but the service is not that of a starred restaurant, the staff is very young, but you cannot justify not having trained them. Personally I chose the Signature menu and I must say that the squid tagliolini is truly remarkable, but otherwise nothing special. My wife took the land menu and assures me that only the dark one was starred. Return on service, cover charge €5 without tablecloth. I may be a boomer, but I don't like it. Furthermore, the dessert was placed next to me like in low-level places. Water often poured not only into the glass but also onto the table without asking for preference. Another gem, when paying the bill the manager spoke into his earpiece without even looking at our faces. Pure ineducation! One doubt has been removed from us, they won't see us again
Disappointment
As soon as you arrive they make you sit down for an aperitif and make you order the tasting menu with a choice of 4 options, asking you to all choose the same one. This has never been seen before... Poor service, some bring something exceptional but something else really poor, specifically the potato gatteaux and the paccheri with sauce. Not even a tablecloth on the tables. Exorbitant price for the offer. How did they get the star?
Couple's dinner
The place is very beautiful, even if the room where we dined has predominantly gray colors, and being a place by the sea, it may not please you if you prefer lighter shades and brighter colors. The appetizer, the chef's signature mozzarella millefeuille, was really good but the accompanying broccoli sauce would perhaps be better replaced with a basil sauce, but that's a matter of personal taste. Nothing to say about the fake spaghetti made from calamari, really good. On the seafood Genoese the pasta was a little behind cooked while the red snapper tartare was not very evident on the plate, overshadowed by the onion sauce which, as usual, dominates the dish. The sea bass was really excellent but even there, an anduia sauce, in my opinion, was not suitable as a combination and too strong in flavor compared to the fish, which was delicious in itself but very delicate. Compared to the bread and the various tastings, in my opinion a re-fill should not be requested, but should be appropriately served. Also regarding the starchy foods served at the beginning of the meal, the squid ink breadsticks had not even a remote hint of the sea and the taralli with fiarelli, very good, could have been reserved, or at least offered again (2 are a few) during the meal. The pre-dessert, cute and playful in appearance, contains too acidic a component and can disturb especially at the end of the meal (passion fruit bon bon). Regarding the dessert, I think the pastiera al chalice is good, but as you eat it becomes cloying, firstly in terms of quantity (in this case too generous considering the strong flavor of the pastiera) and secondly because the dessert tends to flatten out as it does not have different consistencies, except the small lozenges of shortcrust pastry placed on the surface. So much bitterness, even though they were sweet, for the small pastry shop, which has always been a protagonist in stellar restaurants. Three mignons, one of which was extremely disappointing (saffron cream puffs, in terms of flavor and consistency) and two others below par. Overall, definitely a good restaurant, but I'm sorry to say I had much higher expectations especially considering the star. I'm not an expert critic but I've tried several Michelin star restaurants and found that there is a lot of room for improvement in certain aspects.
Preferences
Booked dinner for 2 with a complete 7-course tasting menu. When booking I am advised to book in advance because the tables are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. At 8pm we are there, we are offered an aperitif and then we go to the dining room. We were offered a table but I pointed out to the staff that there was a free table near the window and we would have preferred to sit there. I am told that tables are first come first serve and I still tell them that the table is empty. They let us sit and in the meantime they go and ask. After 10 minutes a manager arrives (I think) and tells me that unfortunately it was not possible to satisfy us after reviewing their dining room organization and he would have made us move to dinner in progress. It's 9.30pm and lo and behold, a couple arrives, greets everyone and sits down at the very table we wanted and in the meantime other couples who arrived before them had also been seated at more internal tables. We were asked to move when the desserts arrived, but with dinner almost over it didn't make any sense. Very kind staff, good food but apparently preferences are made within the room, there's no point in deceiving customers by making them arrive early and then making them sit where you decide.
Great Restaurant in Naples!
I was very lucky to have a late reservation booked by my hotel for this restaurant! It was very busy snd staff all attentive! I chose the 5 course menu and lovely all courses except one. Once the staff saw I did not eat the pasta dish / they buzzed around to understand why I was not eating ! I loved the starter mozzarella dish with fish and all remaining courses lovely including the desert zabalione dish. It was nice to watch the chefs st work in the kitchen and the head chef oversaw every fish that was served up . A lovely experience!
The first one was good
First culinary experience in Naples and in this restaurant in the center of Naples near San Gregorio Armeno, we find the friendliness and kindness of the Neapolitans as well as a truly excellent pizza. Quality/price ratio ok, actually spent really well. To try
Best restaurant experience in Italy and possibly beyond
One of the best meals of my life - and I have been to quite a few places.. The food was absolutely amazing, the place is gorgeous, the hospitality was beyond belief. The wine list is to die for and the wine pairings were inspired, unusual, and very, very well thought of. The staff not only totally know their work but also seem to work incredibly well with each other. Bravo! I will come again as soon as I can.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
