Authentic Italian
Authentic Italian food in the heart of the West Village. Fair pricing but on the higher end. Highly recommended, cool vibe and excellent service.
Be the first to ReplyProb not worth it
You could prob make any dish on this menu, not bad not excellent. DON'T do outdoor seating in winter, it's shabby, saw a guy poop on the doorstep right in front of the restaurant while eating a few feet away. That was the highlight of the dinner. If you go atmosphere inside is very beautiful and homey, just make a res at least a month in advance or your gonna be on the sidewalk, and atp there's a trillion other places prob better in the warmth with an equally cute atmosphere. Staff were lovely:) Food meh and certainly not worth the price. Never write bad reviews, but I was really disappointed, the picture online for outdoor seating were very misleading and lead me to believe it'd be a cute place for a date night
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Italian in the West Village
This place hit on all cylinders for us. The service was great. The food was absolutely delicious. It was an Italian menu, not too many items (which I preferred--there were many excellent choice but it did not overwhelm). We share arancini, which was delicious, and pasta bolognese was some of the best I've had. Portion was just right--not too big--and they didn't bring bread (maybe we could have requested it) which, in retrospect, made the meal more enjoyable as we weren't stuffed with the empty carbs. I thought the ambience was lovely (we were in the open atrium area). We had mixed drinks and wine, all very tasty, as well as a great tiramisu for dessert. I would definitely go there again.
Be the first to ReplyPretty restaurant, good food, but fair service
We came here with my daughters friends. You must have a reservation to dine here. There is a small bar to wait at, but only seats 4 people. This restaurant has GF pasta which is one of the reasons we came. The atmosphere is very pretty. Food is very good, but expensive. The least they can do is not charge for the bread, which is only 4 pieces per order. I am only giving this a 4 star because the service could have been a little more helpful and nicer. This was our big night out on a Saturday and because of the service was not that special.
Be the first to ReplyBias with a side of pretense
Pretentious with hit or miss food and a dose of bias. We were denied the atrium space but the couple who were seated next to us were happily relocated to the atrium space, even though we had a reservation there. A recipe for an awful dinner experience. There are so many other choices out there, even a slice of pizza down the street would have been a better option than this.

We loved this restaurant! It reminds you of a small village in Italy. Palma is set in a West Village townhouse, its intimate dining rooms have great ambiance. Flowers everywhere! Before dining, Chef Luciano Sosa took us on tour and we got to experience all floors and outdoor dining spaces. This is a place that should not be missed! Great for parties and even offers cooking classes for those interested in making homemade pasta. For dinner, we started with tasty arancini’s risotto bites, incredible sardine all’escabeche, which one of the daily chef specials, homemade sourdough focaccia, melanzane rolled eggplant with buffalo ricotta, fritto misto fried calamari and carciofi crispy roman artichokes. We followed with the spaghetti all’astice served al denté with Maine lobster and vesuvian vine tomato sauce. By this point, we were pretty full but managed to save some room for the Halibut fish special with orange zest spinach and salmone selvaggio wild Ora King salmon with a delicious tapenade. For dolce, we had the affogato espresso caramel ice cream and mango sorbet. Everything was a perfect balance of flavor and quality ingredients. Our host, Claudia and chef’s Angelo and Luciano were attentive and accommodating. Palma is a must. We can’t wait to return again.

I was very excited to try their homemade gluten free pasta. While the pasta itself was very good the dish, overall, was disappointing. A few pieces of ravioli covered in butter and a pound of cheese. Had to add some pepper to cut through the heaviness. The service was fine. But I wouldn’t go back. Plenty of good restaurants in New York.

My cousin and I had walked by this restaurant a couple times before and thought the decor/ambiance was really cute and when we looked up the reviews were great so we decided to try it. The decor was so pretty and it almost looked like a restaurant that you would find in Italy. It was the best pasta I've had in New York - I ordered the trofie al pesto and it was one of the best pesto pastas I've ever had. I've been to Italy before and this pasta tasted exactly like real authentic Italian pasta. We also had the focaccia with olive oil as an appetizer and the bread was so fresh. The service was great too; overall the atmosphere/ambiance was amazing and we can't wait to come back!

The food here is delicious. Everything is fresh, excellent flavors… but the service is unfeeling and cold. Come here for the food and ambiance!
Be the first to ReplyOver priced mediocre crap
The biggest disappointment of my life. I waited 2 years to try this highly rated restaurant & it was the worst let down. Booked a month in advance & sat at the worst table with a constant draft. Mediocre & over priced food. As Taylor Swift says - I’ll also NEVER walk Cornelia Street again

Rude service is the biggest turnoff for me. We went to celebrate a birthday and let the restaurant blew more up front so they could do that candle and dessert thing. That never happened. And of course they also brought the wrong dish for the birthday boy as well but the biggest issue I had was when the server came over when the wrong dish arrived and she blamed us. No apology at all. Then the chef comes out and hovers over our table finally asking how it was as if he deserves kudos for doing his job. And did I mention they brought out bread for us but didn’t bring any oil or vinegar. We had to ask three times. Food was ok, nothing to rave home about. I’d recommend spending your money elsewhere.

We gave a party for 10 people at Palma, and the staff could not have been more helpful and gracious. When we arrived, our reserved outside table was already decorated with lovely flowers; we were offered blankets and heaters; our waiter, Darius, was both friendly and formal, and always cheerful. Our order was taken promptly and the brunch food and pasta were delicious. Most of us had not been to a restaurant in almost two years, and it was a pleasure to eat at a place so perfect in every way as Palma. Although some of us are not regular restaurant goers, we'll go to Palma again, for the food and for the service. -- We are obviously not the only people who think this way; indoors and out, the restaurant was full and bustling. -- I should add, that when I read reviews like this one, I often wonder if someone on the restaurant's staff wrote it, because it sounds too good to be true. Let me assure you: I don't work there, and I don't even live close by. Grazie Tanto to all at Palma.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful food and service
Had a lovely meal here on a Friday night. The staff were wonderful in making recommendations for both the food and wine selections were made. Both were delicious!!
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, disappointing food.
Very disappointed with the quality of food for the price. We only had 3 appetizers - which are actually very large and could easily be an entree.
We had a charcuterie board - daily special. It was OK…except for the $40 surprise price tag (we didn’t ask). Definitely enough for two. Meats were OK. 100 feet from Faicco’s…one could have hoped for better.
We had the carcioffi ala romana. Big serving - 6 full baby artichokes. Not sure about the romana part- they dont resemble anything we’ve ever had in Rome. Not deep fried - they were roasted or braised or something, outer petals very tough. They were edible but very oily. I wouldn’t order again.
The real disappointment was the $21 fried calimari app. It’s was very large - but oil-ladden and undercooked. We would have sent it back but were pressed for time and kinda full by then anyway.
That and 2 drinks came to $140 inc. tax and tip.
Our waiter and the staff were excellent - professional and efficient. Overall the place is very pleasant.
Lovely venue, great food
An overall wonderful dining experience: Venue/atmosphere - lovely. The "atrium garden" roses were lovely. Service: prompt, not hovering, but watchful with good suggestions. Food: delicious. Ordered 3 apps: Calamari, Burata, Eggplant. We each had a nice, dry red wine for dinner and Tiramisu for dinner. Split our orders and left satisfied, not overly filled. Portions were quite adequate.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Gluten Free Options.
Great Gluten Free Options. Second time here. Inside courtyard is amazing with the lights and flowers. Food is absolutely amazing. I didn’t get his name but the waiter tonight was great in suggesting different GF meals. We will be returning more often.
Be the first to ReplyRude personal service
When we visited this place we got the nice
table, but after that waitress just come to us and said we have to move to another one, because this was reserved. It is ok for us but the way it’s said was so rude. I never meet this kind of the service in such a nice restaurants
Great pasta
I happened to be in the area and based in trip advisor reviews went into this restaurant. The atmosphere is beautiful, so very romantic and the indoor terraced part is even more so. Real roses everywhere with lights thinking....service was great. Servers were attentive and I had the mushroom fettuccine. It was so good I cleaned the dish !! Bread was nice as was the wine selection. And I finished with the chocolate torte - overall an excellent experience
Be the first to ReplyCute, posh, cozy, comfort
Cute, posh, cozy, comfort. Italian-American style food and drinks. I liked the interior, use of lights and real plants, and the modern but cozy vibe here. The food and drinks were good too. Pet friendly. Nice waiters.
