I had been searching for the perfect romantic birthday
I had been searching for the perfect romantic birthday destination. Finding Papilles has given us very little reason to go elsewhere. First, compared to other establishments offering this level of quality, the pricing is quite affordable. Take a journey with Elena, Andrea and Nicolas as they transport you to the South of France as each stage of the tasting menu unveils the highest of quality and expertise. The food was impeccable. The creativity was exciting making you anticipate each course more and more. This is a dining experience that a serious foodie should indulge in. Three and a half hours flew by with us not wanting to leave. There is a warmth that makes you feel at home. We will be back. From our amazing cocktails as the evening began, we realized we were on the edge of spectacular creativity. Do yourselves a favor......Go!

I popped in for a drink one night while waiting for friends, and ordered the most interesting sounding drink on their menu (Sang Chaud). It was incredible. I have been coming back religiously to get this same drink and have yet to try anything else on the menu. I just cannot believe that I would like any of the other options as much as this cocktail. Needless to say this is my favorite drink in recent memory. Complex, smooth, and well balanced. I cannot yet speak for their food, but it's worth making the trip just to try this drink.

Service: perfectly paced. Waters refilled at the right time. Wine served well. Courses described with refinement. Attention to detail. Intimate but not overbearingFood: brilliant. The amuse set the tone, the courses had so much variety, and everything including the palate cleansers and dessert was prepared thoughtfully. This is Michelin-level stuff (and better than some Michelin places we've been to)Drinks: we got the wine pairing. They were well-paired, and the stemware was beautiful. Champagne was especially good. Wish we could try more cocktails, but then we'd be there the whole night! All in all, just come.

If I could give them 10 stars I would! Truly a hidden gem in New York City. Michelin level food in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Go this place right now before they get 2 Michelin stars and it will be too hard to get a reservation then (it already is kind of hard!). Food was just AMAZING. It was innovative and very well executed. They use fresh vegetables in a lot of dishes which is so refreshing. For a seven course tasting menu, they actually give you 6 main dishes + 3 canapés + 4 desserts (!!!), which is so worth it. More importantly, everything was well proportioned and well paced so we didn't feel stuffed. The service was VERY on point and the wine list was great. What else could you ask for? I have tried so many ~$100 ish tasting menu places in New York and this one is by far the best.

We had the 7 course tasting menu and each single one is surprising and beautiful. So glad to have a great dinner here before I left NYC. And all the stuff here is kind and nice to customers. They don't have many seatings so remember to make reservation before you come.

Beautifully plated and outstanding flavor combinations. To top it off, the cocktails and wine pairing are both excellent.Feels like a private dining experience. Easily a 2-star Michelin restaurant (have dined in all 2 and 3 star restaurants in the city).Great for special occasion.

Add this place to your list right now if you have not done so already. The food is divine! Do yourself a favor and opt into the 7-course menu because you will be enchanted plate after plate. The servings are traditional to a tasting menu concept, small yet powerful. By the end of your meal you will be not only be delighted by the well-rounded flavor experience, but also have a more-than-satiated appetite. We didn't select the beverage pairing on this visit. Instead we ordered a few bottles from the wine list, which worked just as beautifully. Bottom line, secure a reservation and just go. It makes for a lovely special occasion dinner whether it be an intimate birthday celebration with a handful of friends, or date night with a foodie. On a very special note: chapeau to the entire team for all of the hard work and emphasis on delivering a quality culinary experience during these challenging times. You can tell when things are done with so much passion and love when professionals continue to do what it is they are doing. Un grand merci à toute l'équipe Papilles!

All new menu except for one desert. Still Michelin-Star quality without the hyped-up price nor the snob-appeal. Every dish just a work of exquisite art. If you go, go for the seven course menu, cause you don't want to miss a thing. Will definitely re-visit again. (Hopefully next time they will offer mocktails, as I cannot take alcohol.)

Unbelievable little French Bistrot gem in the East Village, clearly Michelin Star worthy yet unpretentious and incredibly comfortable and tasty and beautifully presented. What an amazing 7 course tasting menu. Outstanding service, cocktail list, wine selection... Could easily be in downtown Paris...
