Although they are expensive, the food is delicious.
The ambiance is very nice. The service was good I wouldn't say excellent. But definitely good. Their shrimp dishes are amazing.

Great Service Great Fancy Atmosphere Great Sides
Be the first to ReplyExcellent steakhouse with perfect service.
I ordered a ribeye and it was cooked exactly medium rare as requested. All of their side items and salad were tasty. The ambiance is like a typical nice steakhouse, and I will definitely be back.

Great high end steak eating place with a relaxed ambiance and good service. Servers only dropped a tray of glasses once but it was quickly cleaned up.

I was visiting Dallas on a work trip and while there, I wanted to experience some real Texas steak. I saw this place about 10min from the hotel I was staying and decided to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. We started out with the lobster deviled eggs which come deconstructed with a chunk of lobster meat in each. You then add the filling and top it with a piece of maple bacon, they were fantastic. For the main course I figured it give the Wagyu steak a shot since I had never had it before. Although VERY expensive, I wanted to treat myself. It was extremely tender and the seasoning was perfect. My fiancé got the aged filet mignon which was also amazing. For sides, we got a bowl of mashed potatoes, the side of mushrooms, and the lobster Mac and cheese. The sides are HUGE, so beware when you order. Finished off with the dessert special which was a chocolate cake with ice cream on top. One thing I'd like to point out, I noticed one of the servers doing spot checks with a flashlight on the glasses at tables as she was setting up to make sure the glasses were clean and spot free. That's real quality control. I'd also like to point out, our server Marcus was awesome. Very friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and even gave us some tips on where to visit in Dallas. Yes, the bill was pretty high, but again, I wanted us to go all out for our Dallas trip, so it was well worth it.

One of the better uppydy up places to be seen and have a great steak!!! Food and steak quality are among the best in the Dfw metroplex area. Service is great, it just at times gets super busy on Fridays and Saturdays and slows down a bit. It can get a little loud here doing its peak. The bar is always busy on the weekends. Definitely a place to enjoy the best of the best STEAKS in Texas. Some items on the menu can seem familiar if you been to other Pappa bros establishments at least some taste profiles and to me that's a great thing since they do it so well.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a great special occasion place.
The food is probably the best I have ever had and the service was impeccable. It's pricey but so so good!

5 STARS ACROSS THE BOARD!!! Beautiful restaurant! Excellent service! Our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with our visit. Everything was delicious especially the steaks, lump crab mac n cheese, and roasted mushrooms. The drinks were amazing. We were seated by the living area with the fireplace which gave a luxury, comfortable feel. I'm already planning my next dinner here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Be the first to ReplyI can not say enough about this place.
It's a first class steakhouse with practically butler service, the steaks are delicious and best of all it's rustic, warm, cozy. It's not one of those pretentious places I avoid. However, I would not recommend the pecan pie... strangest one I've ever tried.

Ashley was our waitress; I really don't know where she was at all. No complaints on food. Appetizers were good crab cake, shrimp cocktail, onion rings. Entree was delicious. For a place that cost this much I expect at least good service.

As I sit here contemplating how to lean in this review, I'll admit I am conflicted. So, I'm setting this aside to ponder how I really feel. I'll be back.Ok, I've returned and am ready to give you the lowdown. Let me start with the most important. The Steak. It's a high-end steak house so you have to go there first right? I mean anyone considering coming here is going for the beef. With high expectations, I may add.Pappas Brothers have shown up on a few lists recently as one of the top in the nation. I've been thinking about coming here since I excitedly read of its opening some 20 years ago or so. This is where, Conflicted, comes in. I know two places I can drive to any day of the week and get a perfect steak that satisfies me. Here's the kicker. At 1/2 the price of Papas or any other high-end place. But, that's not the sole reason we eat out and spend copious (larger than ever recently) sums of our hard-earned cash to have an "Experience".That's the demarcation right there between, a solid average restaurant and a high-end one. We pay for perfection and expect perfection in exchange for our Crypto, and when it's not perfect...well...we can be disappointed.I must admit, I tend to set high standards but when it's advertised, you should. I mean, when the guy selling cars, couches, cokes, or steaks says he's the best and wants your $$$$ then hey, it's an even playing field. For the last 30 years, my favorite steak has been the Strip. No matter what you call it, New York, Kansas City, and everything in between, I like the firmness and flavor. When cooked right it can be ethereal. My large NY Strip at Papas was a very good steak. Not perfect and not a $69 preparation. Still very delicious. I have no doubt if you come here for steak, you will be happy.Just plan on paying a lot for your meal.Everything else during the meal including watching the open kitchen, people passing by, sides, appetizers, and drinks were good. However, now the bad news...The wine and steward service was terrible. After being asked by three different people if we could be helped with a wine selection(read feeling hurried) we ordered a wine to be delivered with our entrees. After this, an additional person stopped at our table again asking the same question. Very irritating and im, not an irritable person. The Big Fail...After all that, we sat with our entrees waiting for our wine....no waiter no sommelier nothing...To add an additional layer of disappointment, one of the Cabernets was served cold!!!!The waiter didn't do much better. He profusely apologized for being inattentive at the end of the meal and went on way too long with things I didn't need to hear. The bottom line, the service made me question the amount of money for the meal. Just that simple. The kitchen did its job perfectly.Service failed. I'll try the competition next time.

Absolutely amazing food, steaks are the best in Dallas, period. They can cook it exactly how you like.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food / service was off.
....Took my wife to PBS last Saturday evening for a date night / delayed International Women's Day celebration. We were seated in a back corner, which we did not mind as we thought it might be quieter. I should also note we had an early reservation - 5:30 PM. Our waiter came by, we ordered wine and our dinner. The wine came, our salads came, but no bread. We watched as other tables got their bread before they even ordered. We finally did ask when our waiter came by and he did go and get bread for us - but we should not have had to ask. Our meals arrived and were wonderful. Our waiter did come by on occasion to refill glasses and make sure we were ok. After dinner, we ordered dessert and my wife also ordered hot tea. The dessert arrived, but no hot tea. We assumed it was coming. After waiting on it 10 minutes, got a managers attention (that happened to be walking by) and let him know we were waiting on the hot tea. It did arrive, about 10 minutes after that. Finally - my wife had told our waiter that she wanted the rest of her steak, au-gratin potatoes, and asparagus to go. He boxed that up, along with the portion of our desserts we could not finish and we headed home. The next day, my wife unwrapped the foil to discover she got the remainder of the steak - but he did not box the remaining sides. That was very disappointing. Finally - and this is just a comment..... When you offer valet parking, put the valet spaces behind the building. This location has valet spaces all in front and down the sides. It makes those who do not want to valet park in the back and have to walk around the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThis started as C&H Steakhouse in Texas's true restaurant
This started as C&H Steakhouse in Texas's true restaurant capital - Houston. The Pappas brothers, late Greg (RIP), Chris, and Harris, do all the right things with every brand they advance. From fast casual Yaya Mary's all the way to the flagship Pappas Bros., there's no misstep. You get what you expect - consistent excellence. That said, if you want a superlative steakhouse experience, you'll be satisfied in Texas fashion at their place. 'Nuff said.
Be the first to ReplyThis is a true five star experience all the way around.
Great steaks and the deviled eggs appetizer is one of the best things I've ever eaten. My only complaint would be the wait before seating even if you have a reservation. The bread could use a little upgrade as well. Clean and dependable.

BEST STEAK IN DALLAS! Highest quality, perfectly cooked, well seasoned. Service was very attentive. It is pricy but worth every penny. Also, they offer a free birthday dessert! We opted for the cheesecake which was the size of my head! Biggest cheesecake I've ever seen. Very similar to NY style, creamy but light and not too sweet. It was perfect. Definitely a must try for any celebration!
Be the first to ReplyThis is a traditional / classy steak house.
Our Steak was cooked to perfection, fresh crab topped on salmon, macaroni stuffed with crab and cheesy potatoes au gratin- just sensational. Our waiter was outstanding, attended to our every need! I will defiantly be back for this!
Be the first to ReplyI was in Dallas for a conference.
It was Super Bowl Sunday and everything was closing early. Thankfully, I found Pappa's Brothers on yelp and it was highly rated. I can see why. I ordered a big huge dinner to go. The valet was helpful and the staff even brought the meal to my car.The food was incredible, and the packaging for a to-go order went way beyond expectations. I was able to make the spread look incredible back at my hotel. They even included entire round loaf of bread. Well worth the price and the quality was outstanding. I could tell my meal was made and packed with love.

Steakhouse. Service and food was exceptional. Ambiance was perfect. I recommend Pappas Bros for those looking for the best of everything.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic! When you've been thinking about a Pappas Bros
Fantastic! When you've been thinking about a Pappas Bros bone in filet since the last time (October at Houston Pappas) and life brings you to Texas again I consider it fate! It's difficult getting a reservation here. But, traveling and dining solo have its advantages. Immediate seating at the Chef's Counter. Not only will you have a chance of dining right away but you also get to witness the magic of the hardworking folks at the epic steakhouse.I can't ask for anything more than to enjoy the best steak I've had ANYWHERE! While in the midst of cowboys in big hats and beautiful Texas women. This time around I happened to be in the middle of a keto diet I've been on. But, there was no passing up on the Crab Mac N Cheese and Creamed Spinach. The managers, especially, Michael, multitask and keep this place running efficiently. Thanks for another great meal. Too bad we don't have anything like Pappas in California (Better than Mastros or Eddie V's).
