Outstanding pâtés, just wow! Also great music playing every time I visit. And that neighborhood is a great spot to watch the sunset if you're there in the evening.

I came here with a friend and was not disappointed!! It is incredibly small - only 2 tables, plus 2 spots at window for the "wine bar". Not the most comfortable but the food kept the rating at 5 stars. We enjoyed a bread & butter starter (copious giant salt in the butter), and then pork rabbit pate that was divine. Yum! Then came the slow roasted cabbage - the sauce made this cabbage I can get behind...But we all came for the meat... the Bavette was simply incredible - perfectly cooked with huge flavor - I'd put above a $70 steak at Daniel's. The London Royale was different but absolutely delicious - a slight chewy texture, but amazing flavor.Solid overall experience
Be the first to ReplyA gem of a restaurant hidden within a butcher shop.
Excellent food, drinks and service and a unique atmosphere. Recommended!
Be the first to ReplyI had another amazing meal at Beast & Cleaver.
When I tell you this place does NOT disappoint. I mean it NEVER disappoints. My favorites tonight were the Foie Gras Terrine, white chocolate & orange zest. The slow roasted cabbage, classic beurre blanc & crispy garlic. The pork chop, from Pure Country Farm, Wa. The Foie gras was served with toasted bread and a cranberry sauce. The words to describe the Foie gras escape me. Just know that the joy escaped my lips more than once while at the dinner table. IF you have been to Beast and Clever, you know how intimate the space is. Everyone there knew how much not only I enjoyed that dish, but everyone at our table. It was so divine, we ordered some to go fromThe butchers case. My brother even drove some over to his friends house because when food is that good, you share the love. Now when we ordered the cabbage and the pork, we didn't expect them to serve to us together but oh my heavens. Doing this was the best experience ever. The pork was tender and flavorful and perfectly pan roasted. I swear they always have just the right amount of salt on their meat here. And the cabbage with the sauce - speechless. Perfectly cooked! The A5 Wagyu is divine here too. Cooked medium rare and it was just like butter. The most intense pack of flavor without any the work you expect in typically eating beef. Amazing! And let's not leave out how great the staff is here. They are so warm and friendly. I never feel anything less than family or a close friend coming here.

Be the first to ReplyI went here due to the great reviews.
However with the exception of the pate inside the toast, none of the items listed here were on the menu - no leek soup, no ribs, no tartare. Only 1 burger, 2 types of steaks and salad. The pate was just okay - it was tough to eat and didn't look anything like it does in the pictures. We ended up going for the dry aged steak (market price) for the entree. We asked for medium but the steak was very rare. The server didn't follow up on the steak temperature which I think is a must for a steak place (especially one charging $100 per cut). The meat was tough to eat - stringy and really hard to chew on. The kitchen had already refused to add an additional dish to our order because it was in the process of being closed. We felt uncomfortable asking them to fix the steak because it looked like the cook just wanted to get the hell out of there. We ended up getting the steak to go. Definitely, not a great experience.

Another location where I'm very late to the party, despite all the amazing Yelp and IG posts. A true carnivore's paradise! Great smash burgers where folks line up. Chef's curated multi course dinners. Yes, I've missed out for so long. The FTR was since 1/4/2020 well before the pandemic!I have never visited until earlier this morning (11/4/22). I had been searching for bockwurst for months. Not even my neighborhood Town& Country/Central Market in Shoreline had bockwurst. Saw their instagram sausage offerings...omg bockwurst, yes I'm totally there!Managed to find nearby street parking, good job parallel parking along a very busy thoroughfare. Murphy's Law, on the day of my first ever visit, my cell phone ran out of internal memory. No interior photos taken...the meat cases, the menu items and specials on the chalkboard. Sigh. I was able to purchase six bockwurst links for $18.12! All set for tonight's UW Huskies or Sunday's Seahawks game. Worthy butcher shop destination for high quality meat selection (farm fresh eggs, curated wines too) with friendly counter staff.
Be the first to ReplyExquisite.
One of the best meals in recent memory. We went to the wine bar, and the ambiance and service is wonderful. We got the salad, Scottish egg, cheese plate, pork rillete, beef/lamb/pork sausage, ribeye, London royale, and dessert. The London royale was my personal favorite, but the Scottish egg, ribeye, and dessert are all contenders. Everything was incredible. I'll be thinking about the London royale for a long time. It was an educational experience just to eat their food -- I learned what meat perfection means to me. Highly recommend.I also attended a beef butchery class at Beast and Cleaver which was amazing too!

I really like their pate en croute. The pastry itself is a little dense (as opposed to flakey), but the fillings are always really good. The jambon and other charcuterie can be a little salty.Their scrapple is solid (and I'm married to someone from the scrapple loving state of PA) and their sausages are good too. As a Viet person, I can say their pho sausage is pretty legit.Their meat selection is very nice. I've loved their duck, rabbit, and beef offerings.I wish there was a better way to track what was in stock / available before coming in, since it's a bit of a drive for me (over 30 minutes), but it's a small business and I'm still happy to come here. The staff is super friendly and helpful.I've also eaten at their restaurant The Peasant once, and if there was a more Covid-19 safe way to dine, I'd love to come back for their wine bar.

They also have a great selection of wine as well! Staff is as friendly & helpful as you could ever ask for. I drive 20 minutes and pass at least five grocery stores to get the best! I sous vide my meat that I get, which can take anywhere from 2 - 72 hours depending on the cut - so the quality is ESSENTIAL for all of that time invested. Beast & Cleaver never fails!
