Stunning food
Absolutely stunning experience, from the minute we arrived until we left the building. Every member of team was on point, the food was sensationalโฆ the wine list was a a dream! I canโt say enough about just how good Pรฉtrus is. Absolute shame on Michelin for not awarding this place 2stars

My Wife so kindly treated me to Petrus as my Birthday present and how spoilt I felt, from the moment we walked in we were incredibly look after as ever by fantastic, attentive, knowledgeable and well presented staff. Food was absolutely amazing as was the wine pairing. My only minor gripe is that the food came a bit too quick between courses and when having the wine pairing I found this a little over powering as often I was still enjoying my wine from the previous course - think that should be taken into account as it felt a bit rushed and forced into pressure drinking which is not what you want to do at anytime and particularly not with such nice wines!

Incredible service, sophisticated surroundings wonderful food and delicious wines. We've taken out a mortgage so we can visit again soon!
Be the first to Reply2nd visit - still outstanding
Iโve made a previous post about Petrus which gives more detail. I returned before Xmas with my team from work for a Xmas dinner and just wanted to say it was as equally outstanding as the first visit. My entire team were blown away by the experience and Iโm excited for my 3rd visit in February !

We had an amazing time at Petrus for my partners 40th birthday celebration. It was our first experience of a Michelin star restaurant and it far exceeded our expectations! The food was of course delicious and more than what we expected with the extra bits in between - this made the whole meal feel so special. The staff were incredibly kind and attentiveโฆ I am one of those annoying gluten free & pregnant people but they were so accommodating to my needs, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and hope to visit again in the future. Many thanks to the team at Petrus!

My partner and I went for a birthday lunch. Had three delicious and beautifully presented courses. What I really appreciated were the little extra morsels between courses which werenโt mentioned on the menu so were a lovely surprise. The service was warm, slick and very attentive from all the staff. Also my partner is gluten intolerant and pregnant but they were so accommodating with this. I was even given a birthday card signed by all the staff. What a lovely touch! All in all we couldnโt fault it, which is what you expect from a restaurant of this calibre.

My wife has known how long I have wanted to dine here for, so yesterday I was lucky enough to go for my birthday. We were not disappointed, hands down the best food we have ever eaten. Each dish is a work of art and the levels of Flavours are incredible. The service was impeccable, every member of staff was warm and attentive. Couldnโt have wished for a better experience. Already looking at booking again.

Phenomenal dining experience last night. Delicious food and incredible service! The service worked like a military operation and all the staff were charming and friendly. Definitely worth the money!

Named after the very expensive French wine, It has a very nice interior . Sat at the far left towards the window in a lovely circular table- was very private as we were a distance away from the next table. Had the tasting menu-Pretige. It was very nice - a few outstanding dishes: the scallops- probably the best i have ever had. The tart fine was nice. The mains of cod was good and so was the lamb but wasnโt outstanding as the pea purรฉe did not work well to accompany the meat. The main desert was excellent as was the petit fours. Wines was good- tip: get the wine list prior to visiting as itโs 70 pages long. Service was attentive with french accent waiters. Tip: Also do ask the sommelier if you can have a look at their wine cellar/ fridge in the middle of the room.

Having been a little disappointed on our last visit to Gordon Ramsey in Chelsea, we decided to try Petrus. A first class experience. Superb food and excellent service in a gorgeous area of London. Had the Prestige menu with aperitifs and a reasonable (for us...) bottle of wine which set us back ยฃ 550 or so for two but worth every penny. Loved it all.

Following from our lunch at โMarcusโ we had a birthday dinner at Petrus for my girlfriend. Neither of us are strangers to a Michelin star restaurant, but Petrus was absolutely sublime. Iโve eaten at 2* restaurants this leaves in the dust. We were warmly greeted, taken straight to the table where a birthday card was waiting for my girlfriend signed by the whole team! What a great touch. And it just got better from there. We opted for the a la carte menu โฆ I had the lobster starter and I can honestly say it was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever tasted. Itโs a ยฃ20 supplement on the cost of the 3 courses but Iโd happily pay ยฃ50. I have thought about it for the 2 days since we visited! My girlfriend had the scallops which were also just amazing. Neither of us could fault anything, right down to the plates even! Just perfect. For main my girlfriend had the beef, cooked to perfection with an amazing bone marrow sauce. I went for the lamb which was another heavy hitter. The peas, mint and girolle accompaniment was also wonderful. The only thing that would have improved it was more lamb! Wonderful. Finally to dessert, my girlfriend had the apricot soufflรฉ (as perfect as any soufflรฉ Iโve ever tasted) and I had the cheeses. Of course there was also wine, amuse bouche, palette cleansers etc - all sumptuous. To finish it off they also gave my girlfriend a birthday dessert. At this point Iโd like to highlight the service. I think the waiters here are psychic. Not once did I have to pour any wine or water or look for a waiter to ask for help. But they were never standing over you. Just in the background being busy but with one eye out for customers at all times. Even going to the toilet there was a waiter who beat me to the door to hold it open and when I returned my napkin was folded nicely and my wine and water refilled. What an amazing job, thank you to the whole team; front and back of house, for an amazing dinner.

Had the chefs table and the food and service were fantastic and I do not know how anyone could say otherwise. Only small criticism was the sommelier introduced himself and we basically were not wine drinkers and one of the party was pregnant and we advised him of this. He didnโt seem very happy and didnโt even ask us what did we want to drink and every time he walked passed the table he didnโt smile just scowled ! The drink requests were left to the fantastic gentleman that looked after us. All the chefs and management were fantastic, just grumpy made us feel awkward that we didnโt require his services.

Superb lunch from start to finish. Excellent service and delicious food. Cannot fault it. Staff were very attentive and efficient. Definitely worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyGordon Ramsays overrated
Gordon Ramsay is overrated. After eating at Michelin star restaurants for 3 weeks all over Europe. The restaurant I expected to be the best ended up being the worst. The food was mediocre. The service was subpar and I left the restaurant starving. I had to go to another restaurant and order another main course after leaving Gordoโs dump!!! The amount of food served to me from his discovery tasting menu was equivalent to an appetizer anywhere else. May I suggest try Guy Savoys in Paris the most phenomenal tasting menu experience on the planet and Guy Savoy is actually at the restaurant to come out of the kitchen and ask how your meal was. Gordo was knowwhere in sight. Such a disappointment. I will never watch any of his television shows again. Heโs a scam!!! Look at the pictures. Thereโs not enough food there to satisfy a newborn. Suck it Gordo!!!!!!

First class. Loved everything. Service was impeccable. Food was epic. Loved the lobster ravioli and the lamb in particular. It was my birthday and they sang to me and have me a little chocolate cake with a candle, as well as a card signed by the staff. Such a lovely touch. Itโs pricy (of course) but worth every penny.

We went for a birthday meal, and it was right up there with one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. Exceptional, faultless food that paired traditional ingredients with a spring/summer jolt of freshness. The service was impeccable too, with an array of friendly waiting staff ensuring we had a fantastic evening.

Really looked forward to our visit during a 2 day stay in London. Went for the prestige tasting menu which looked great on paper. The wine list was surprising and clearly a way of making money whilst I expect mark upsโฆ.. this is ridiculous. A couple of courses were disappointing especially the lamb was very tough and almost inedible - I understand every course wonโt wow you, but tough lamb wasnโt great. Overall disappointing and staff a little overbearing and I wonder do they care as long as the money flows!

A Lovely experience. Food was very tasty and service excellent. Each wine goes perfectly with each dish. It was my husbands bday and the card on the table plus little cake in the end was such a touch from the restaurant
Be the first to ReplyMy favourite restaurant in the world.
I've been lucky enough to travel extensively and eat all over the place, and Petrus remains my very favourite restaurant.
It strikes a fantastic balance in terms of superb, interesting, well executed food along with attentive service without feeling stuffy or inaccessible. The staff are an absolute credit, seemingly working out exactly how each customer would like to be treated and working accordingly.
The food is, without exception, excellent. Can't recommend the place highly enough.
Perfection
***February 2019***
We visited here for a 50th birthday surprise .
From entering to leaving everything was 100% perfect.
Amazing food
Amazing service
Amazing presentation & quality
Just amazing!!!!
We had a kitchen tour too & what a calm immaculate piece of art !!
We have visited a couple times before & always been blown away. Now things are a little normal we shall endeavour to re visit even if it is a four hour round journey!!
Exceeded expectations
We have just had the most amazing evening at Petrus. I am in the taxi home and felt compelled to write a review having not left any reviews for probably a couple of years now. The food, wine and service were all incredible and we couldnโt have asked for more. The atmosphere was the perfect combination of feeling relaxed but special. We had the tasting menu and everything was seriously delicious. The wine list is pretty expensive so brings up the overall cost quite a lot, however, the wines were faultless. I think this stands above lots of other 1 star restaurants we have eaten at and is head and shoulders above Le Gavroche which is 2 star and which we ate at about a month ago. The service was fantastic and attentive without being over bearing. It made the whole experience feel extra special. Thank you. We will be back!

This wasnโt our first visit but every time feels like the first as it is such an amazing experience each time.
The greeting is genuine and so friendly. The service is incredible from every member of staff and nothing is too much trouble. They are all knowledgeable of every dish and very helpful with wine selection.
Now to the food!
We had a gift voucher for a 3 course lunch but decided to add the cost of the voucher towards the prestige menu and we are so glad we did. The menu was so good and varied and every dish was delicious. With all the extras given to you I think we counted 9 courses. The layers of flavor in all the dishes is a culinary experience.
Ok so the wine is expensive but we had a couple of glasses each and it wasnโt too much of a shock.
It was quite busy for a lunchtime sitting so there was a good atmosphere.
Thank you to you all at Pรฉtrus for a really enjoyable time.
Absolutely loved it
From beginning to end this was a great lunch and super experience. We loved the light and bright decor from the moment we emerged. Staff were super attentive and seemed to be able to be there at exactly the right time every time without seeking to be on top of us. We've eaten in plenty of Michelin restaurants and we felt the service and food were both worth more than 1*. Nothing was too much trouble and when I just didn't like my dessert they replaced it with an alternative even though they're was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Would definitely go again if we're able to.

Dined at Petrus on a date with my girlfriend. Overall was a very positive experience. The food itself is top-notch, compares very favorably to other one-starred restaurants, and is very reasonably priced (3x courses for ยฃ100 per head). The service, too, is very good with friendly and attentive staff. Had the scallops to start and the beef for the main - both courses were excellent and the accompanying amuse bouches added a touch of flare.
What took the shine off a little was the drinks and the service charge.
Fantastic tasting menu, we had the pleasure of sitting at chefโs table, the whole experience was amazing!!
What can we say! The food was amazing, presentation and detail was fantastic. We waited two years to come and was well worth it!
Thank you so much for such an incredible experience
