Worth a trip for the laksa
We visited in Feb 2023, but have been several times previously. Phat Phuc (it doesn't mean that, apparently...) is quite hard to find, located in a courtyard below Street level off a road junction near Chelsea Old Town Hall. Lots of buses stop very close by. It is very rudimentary - order at a hatch, sit at a rather rickety table within a gazebo /tent structure, or outside in the open air. They bring your food, freshly cooked. And that's where the basic aspect ends, because the food is stunning. Pho is great, but their beef laksa has to be one of the best things you can eat in London. Thin slices of tender rare beef are served on a spicy, tangy, umami-rich broth packed full of coconutty creaminess. It also contains some green veg like cabbage or Pak choi for a metallic crunch (and the green contrasts with the red chilli-flecked broth), and perfectly cooked noodles. Served with a cold beer this is one of the best dishes I've eaten in London, and is pretty inexpensive, especially given the area. There is often a queue and more than once we have arrived to find them completely sold out. They also close early so plan well, but if you manage to snag a table, you'll be rewarded with a marvellous meal.
Be the first to ReplyPhat Phuc? More like Phat Phoul. Bland and disheartening.
Truthfully and sadly, a profusely disappointing experience, especially given the fact that the queue was humongous. Donโt let the reviews and plentiful of TikToks deceive you, this place is far from amazing. The food itself - 4/10 at most compared to all other similarly priced Vietnamese establishments around Hoxton and around. The Pho Bo however, gets 1/10. Even the unimaginative Pho Cafe chain does a better job of creating subtle yet flavourful pho broth. The Phat Phuc Pho Bo simply lacked flavour and the Pho noodles were far from the best. For an establishment calling itself a noodle bar, one would expect handmade noodles. I imagine with such high foot traffic, they simply cannot keep up with the production and the quality drastically drops. Coming to a noodle bar, one doesnโt expect upper class customer service, if any at all to be fair. Phat Phuc didnโt disappoint on this. On the contrary, managed to deliver service with highest of excellence bluntness and rudeness. With the queue stretching upstairs and around the block, once you get into the bar area, nobody or no sign notifies you that one should order whilst in the queue. This was communicated to us with shock and audible annoyance once ordering at the bar after we sat down.
Be the first to Replyphat phuc indeed
Had to come here for the name! But no the food is well worth coming for. On a Sunday afternoon there was a bit of a queue only about 15 mins. Itโs in a courtyard, with a relaxed vibe and the tables are mixed parties which was fine for me. I went for the prawn mee laksa which was delicious, full of flavour and great quality. Duck pancakes also great as a starter. Highly recommend for lunch in Chelsea, itโs a gem.
Be the first to ReplyBest vibe and delish food in Chelsea
I have grown up in Chelsea all my life and I would honestly say this restaurant is the GOAT! I love it! The vibe is authentic and happy- no one there is snobby or demanding, all very happy to sit in close proximity eating the most delicious Vietnamese food. Would recommend 100%!!!
Be the first to ReplyGood as Phuc
Went to this open air, shared table, courtyard, Chelsea noodle bar for lunch. It was pouring but we were dry & felt v covid safe given the open nature of the space which has a gazeebo covering. Great food which comes very mildly spiced, which you then pimp up with fried onions & various sauces which are on the tables & included in the price. ยฃ12 each for Chelsea lunch. Do go.
Be the first to ReplyA good laksa for 9 quid
Very simple setup - pho or laksa soups - a few starters - pay at counter and grab a seat - very quick - they will find you by yelling out your name I had a good rendition (4 out of 5) of a prawn curry laksa for 9 pounds - a bargain in this city

The spring rolls were delicious. Nice and crispy, flavorful, no complaints. But the stir-fried noodles with chicken were really not too great. The flavor was just...off. Not too pleasant. Ordered on Deliveroo, so can't comment on the service or ambiance.

Whilst staying for 2 weeks in London, we twice visited Phat Phuc. Both times the food was excellent, the atmosphere is great and the value is the best you will find in Chelsea. Highly recommend a feed at this establishment. Thank You.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious, cheap and quick!
My partner and I come here frequently and absolutely love it. We get the pho every time and it's so tasty and authentic. Portions are huge! You won't find better value for money anywhere in the surrounding suburbs., and the staff are super friendly. We brought the family for dinner during their holiday and they loved the food (especially the laksa) so much that we came back twice! It can be cold in winter (because you're eating in a tent!) though there are heaters. Also take note of opening times - only from 11am to 7pm, and there may be a short wait for a table. Worth it!

Quite an amazing little place serving authentic laksa using dried shrimp as a base. Huge, juicy prawns and chicken breast slices very tasty. Sticky rice with mango was too soft but this is all a matter of taste. Exceptionally efficient and friendly service.

Very authentic lovely service had the beef pho and pork wok fried noodles and it was superb tasted like I was in Vietnam! Had the pork dumplings and was stunning absolutely banging
Be the first to ReplyQuick, tasty, great price, vegetarian
Came across this by accident. Had vegetarian egg fried rice. Food came quickly, Tasted great with hot, crunchy veg. Definitely worth dropping in. It's down some stairs. You sit outside or outside under a tent if it's damp. Tasty, great service, quick, great price. Would be good to drop in for a takeaway.

I was delighted to find this restaurant off the beaten track to have lunch with a friend. Itโs very rare in South Kensington that you can find such a good value and tasty meal. The restaurant was very busy but because the food comes very quickly you donโt have to wait too long for a table to be available.
Sensible portion sizes (not overwhelming but not underwhelming!) With decent amounts of toppings. On the table there is also additional Siracha, soy sauce etc. The Laska was incredibly tasty. The staff were also very attentive and very welcoming.
The only minor point to pick up on if anything, was the fact that the chopsticks could have been included with the regular cutlery and not single use. We must do our bit for the environment!
Will certainly be back and also ordering takeaway. Highly recommend and I hope that future travels have an equally great experience
Like having dinner inside a tent!
But the food was delicious. You have to order at the bar though the food is served by a waitress. I guess that having the eating space in a see-through tent keeps their overheads down in a place like Chelsea. And that's probably why the price is pretty low too!

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. I have recently stayed in London with my friend for a week and we visited this place 3 times in the week because the food was that good. It is in the heart of chelsie just off the Kings Road and it is family run. All the staff are amazing and very polite and friendly I would definitely recommend paying this place a visit and so cheap too.
I am back in London in February and we will certainly be paying another visit here
Stay away from the Pho
Water, noodles, herbs on top and meat. I added two spoonful of fish sauce and it still didnโt help. Very odd

Had a fantastic tasty laksa, busy but the host gets you seated as soon as he can and itโs well worth it.
Be the first to ReplyGive it a go not fine dining but very good food for your buck.
Chicken Laksa was very good indeed.
Plenty of chicken with very good noodles in a well ventilated area.
My dish came out steaming hot
Amazing Vietnamese!!
I eat here regularly and cannot recommend it enough.
Amazing portions, reasonably priced and the food is incredible!
Honestly does not look like much but you really really have to try this place!!
