Best Indian restaurant in NYC.
Fantastic. Wonderful Biryani. Best I've had and the service was gracious even though they were very busy.
Be the first to ReplyNothing that would wow you.
The food is good enough though. We had lamb curry, which was delicious. We were disappointed to know that the fish in the dishes was just tilapia, so we did not order it. The service was excellent and quick as was the dim light ambiance. If you know anything about fish food in India tilapia is pretty much the bare minimum. There are MUCH better more authentic options like pomfret or hilsa, king mackerel and these are available widely in the tristate fish markets.

Hosted a get together with family and friends on March 19th 2023 @ 2nd floor Party hall. Had amazing time. All appetizers and food was delicious. Had total privacy and lots of fun with music , karaoke and dance. Open bar with all premium liquor was the best. The Service was unbelievable. All dishes served steaming hot. Absolutely loved the ambiance. Great location in NYC. Highly recommended for all occasions.

Good drinks. Small cosy restaurant. Can be loud at times because of the space constraints. we went with our baby and he was content and so happy. Service is quick , but they do not have some basic Indian dishes which was surprising . Overall good experience

Mohamed, great time with him as my server! Shrimp biryani very tasty!! Raita was perfectly tangy to go well with the rice. Thanks for the last minute hospitality. The paneer isn't the best I've taste, but it will do for a night out. They do have a great spicy paste if you're into spicy!!

Great food, quick service, and spicy overallIt was a little dead in there so make sure you're going with friends not a date. Lotta space, but great food. Maybe takeout would be best?

Pretty cheap Indian food for the big portion that they serve. They have a special lunch menu and this experience is based on that. The goat curry is really good; the vegetable biryani is quite spicy, I don't really like it. They have different side dishes/sauces to eat with the rice, which is pretty cool. Garlic naan is good and the portion is pretty big.

Service great, in spite of the restaurant being under renovation. Good was not as good as I remembered it from my previous visit to this restaurant... having said that - I'll come back again to make sure!
Be the first to ReplyA friend took us here.
My first time to try this place and I enjoyed the thalis a lot. We ordered 3 kinds of thalis. I love the fish curry a lot then the lamb and the least one is the tikka masala. Service is just ok. Not as warm as I expect it.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is always really tasty and the service is good.
The food is not excessively greasy. Def recommend for solid Indian food.
Be the first to ReplyThe food here is slightly above average.
My friend and I ordered chicken thalis (the lunch special for $20.95 each). It came with many tiny little plates of appetizers consisting of soft corn, mini salad, chickpeas, potatoes and good main dishes. It said on the menu that it would also come with dessert, but we were never offered any dessert nor did we order anything else because the wait staff was rudely rushing us to finish our food. We later learned that they close at 3:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon. We had arrived at 2:00 pm so we were very rushed and unsettled. There was some internal drama and verbal disagreement between waitstaff, which everyone in the restaurants witnessed. When I asked my server how he was, he responded "same shit, different day." While I appreciate a sarcastic sense of humor, it was really inappropriate. I'm not sure if this was a family owned restaurant with the employees all snapping at eachother but the service was very below average. The wait staff seemed very annoyed at us and all the other patrons for being there. We were met with eye rolls. It's a shame because the food was good. But I'm not going to pay for people to be rude to me again. As New Yorkers, we all deal with enough attitude on a regular basis:

This restaurant experienced a slight knock on effect at the end of the pandemic, but it is back with a vengeance! I just had an incredible meal with a group of 18 students. Everything was just perfect.Meal:2 full tandoori chicken 2 shrimp curry2 goat curry2 Deg ghosht1 duck chettinad1 tikka masala Plus garlic and rosemary naan and paapduns. From the arrival of the thin, crispy, utterly fresh pappadums to the beautiful, fragrant basmati rice, everything went perfectly. Everything perfectly on time, perfectly cooked, utterly fresh. As good as it could possibly be, service and cooking, The whole experience.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious authentic Indian cuisine.
All your favorites and many vegetarian dishes. It's dark instead so bring your flashlights.

Made reservations here for my fiancรฉs birthday after visiting The Summit. Amazing place and food. The food is delicious and fresh and the customer service is just as excellent. Definitely recommend this place to anyone that is around the are.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the worst Indian food experiences Ive had.
Literally every single dish was bad. Before ordering I checked the reviews on yelp as I always do. ย and it seems like they are all fake.
Be the first to ReplyI've actually always liked the taste of Pippali.
No issues with the taste but my recent takeout order was lacking. The size of the chicken tikka for takeout and their portions have become extremely small especially for a main dish. The size of the container is similar to the complimentary rice. You get a total of 5 pieces of chicken and it's just not worth the $20 price tag.

Staff was really friendly and sweet. I will definitely visit again. Just for the sweet staff they have.

Found this little gem while searching for a restaurant with reservations available last minute, after taking a Barry's class at Park Ave South. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised to find a warm and intimate atmosphere with excellent Indian food. Loved the butter chicken and the grilled vegetables. Would recommend!

Excellent Indian food in there three times because it was so good really enjoy all the dishes and a wonderful variety of foods. Would be happy to come back again
Be the first to ReplyExtremely disappointing experience.
The food was served cold and not flavorful at all. Coming from an Indian background, I expect Indian food to be held to a certain standard, and this restaurant truly deserves 0/5 stars. The naan was hard, the curry was floating in oil, and the mango lassi was nauseatingly sweet. The waiters are rude, the manager is ignorant, and none of the staff is attentive or patient. After notifying the manager of my experience, he made it seem like it was my fault for not liking the food. This is not how a restaurant should be run, and now how guests should be treated. I would stay away from this restaurant at all costs. Extremely shocked at the positive rating of this restaurant on Yelp, but there's a ton of other great Indian restaurants in the city that I've had a great experience at.

Good food, cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices at this charming midtown restaurant. Food tends to be a bit bland so ask for increased soice levels if needed. Their tandoori roti for 5 is awesome! Ordered Chana masala and Jaipuri kofta for entree, both were good!
Be the first to ReplyLiterally amazing food.
My fave spot in curry hill. Get the chicken tikka and garlic naan. Samosa chaat app was very delicious as well. Highly recommend.
